Avaliação na Educação Física: análise sobre uma planilha de observação na educação infantil
Resumen
When gathering the materials for study in this work, it was noticed that most of the research that refers to assessment is focused on elementary level or higher, being practically nonexistent in kindergarten education. Moreover, when we look to the assessment in Physical Education, the literature is even tiniest. Thus, although assessment is important in the learning process, little is known about this issue; therefore, it is necessary to expand the knowledge about Physical Education assessment, especially in kindergarten education. In this sense, this study aims to investigate, in the perception of Physical Education teachers from kindergarten education, the content and applicability of the observation worksheet used in a Municipal Educational Network. Twenty-one teachers participated in this exploratory study and provided a written informed consent form approved by the Institutional Review Board. Participants answered a semi-structured questionnaire, using the Google Forms platform, consisting of open and closed questions about the content and applicability of the assessment instrument used by teachers. Data analysis took place in three stages, namely: description of the data; cluster analysis and; categories of analyses. The information obtained in steps one and two supported the discussions in the categories of analyses. Based on the “Content” axis, the category of analysis “Relevance of criteria” emerged. In this category, the teachers' conception of the items on the worksheet is approached. In general, it was noted that teachers have greater dissatisfaction with motor aspects, due to the lack of criteria to assess motor skills. In addition, other suggestions were indicated to facilitate the observation of the teacher. From the “Applicability” axis, two categories emerged: the category “Relevance of the worksheet in the evaluation”, which revealed 3 different profiles of teachers regarding the acceptance of the worksheet under study: those favorable to the worksheet and without difficulties to apply it; those favorable to the spreadsheet, but who have difficulties in applying it; and; those resistant to the spreadsheet. The other category of this axis was called “Need for training on assessment in Physical Education”, whose majority of teachers registered the lack of dialogue about assessment in initial training, thus bringing more insecurity to assess their students. The discussions presented in this study sought to bring elements to dialogue about the weaknesses and potentialities of this guiding document, contributing to the process of searching for a coherent, efficient and practical evaluative action.
