Proposta de uma sistemática para identificação de pareceristas para editora universitária
Abstract
The University Publishers use the peer review method to analyze and evaluate the books that will be released. This method is essential for the publishing quality, however there are challenges on the identification and selection of the peers, due to the possible bias and subjectivity of the review. The objective of this research is to develop and apply a method to identify and select researchers, to work as peers for the University Publishers. The action research method was used, and the case study unit was EdUFSCar (Publisher for the Federal University of São Carlos). Bibliometrics were used as a technique of information analysis, and the software VantagePoint for the data processing and analysis of the information acquired from the Lattes Platform, including the professors’ scientific papers. The professors were identified through the Sucupira Platform, and work in Postgraduate programs (Masters/Doctorate) acknowledged by CAPES. The obtained results include the development and application of a peer identification and selection systematic, through a set of automated activities. From the discussion of the obtained results, it is concluded that the proposed and applied systematic contributed to a more agile information gathering to identify and select peers, reducing partiality and response time.
