Abstract
Knowledge management (KM) gives the organization a sustainable competitive advantage. However, to the KM cause significant impacts on the organization, observable improvement in performance, it is required that it is performed by competent professionals. The objective is to map the necessary skills for librarians in the performance of the initiatives in KM. The method used was a case study and the unit-case, an organization for technological research. The results were: 1) identification and mapping initiatives in KM and skills necessary for the librarian in the performance of these initiatives in the organization studied. We concluded that the librarian meets the expectations of the organization, as the skills necessary for the operation with KM.
