An important step while studying reactions catalyzed by enzymes is analyzing the
behavior of bioreactors, considering different kinetics models and the order of magnitude
of the parameters. Process simulations are one of the tools utilized for such porpoise,
although the available softwares are paid and/or requires the user to have some specified
knowledge to run simulations. The purpose of this project is to develop a simple free
software able to simplify analyzes of enzymatic reactors by enabling the visualization of
their behaviors. The software (EnzyView) was developed with a graphical user interface in
XAML and logic in C#, using Windows Presentation Foundation. A total of 8 common
Kinects models are available (Michaelis-Menten without inhibition, competitive,
non-competitive, uncompetitive, partially competitive, partially noncompetitive, substrate
inhibition, and enzyme deactivation), and 3 operational modes (Batch, CSTR, and CSTRs
in series). Together they allow 28 different simulations, and the results are presented in
graphical form, aiming to make it easier to understand reactional behavior. A tool (slider)
enables quick value change in one of the simulation parameters is available, allowing
simple analyses of its effects on the simulation model. With these functionalities, EnzyView
can make study, teaching, and comprehension about enzymatic reactions easier, without
a cost, and in a user-friendly way.
