Abstract
The Finite Element Method was implemented through an application in the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming language directly to the MS-Excel software in order to make the structural analysis process more dynamic and to allow an iterative design that meets the any proposed static scheme facilitating the search for the ideal solution. It was concluded that the proposed application is capable of analyzing reticulated structures with longitudinal and transverse stiffness, obtaining accurate results in relation to displacements and reactions for ported structures and, in addition, is able to calculate internal forces both for static schemes subjected to concentrated loads and for distributed loads.
