Reciclagem de ABS oriundo da indústria automobilística: influência do processamento por termoformagem e do envelhecimento nas propriedades mecânicas
Abstract
The growing demand for the recycling of materials for industrial use, arising from the
social demand for sustainable practices, brings to the fore the need for more in-depth
studies on structural changes to which these materials are subject, whether due to the
original use of the material or the techniques of its reprocessing. The present study
focuses on the study of the degradation of the terpolymer acrylonitrile butadiene
styrene, popularly known by the acronym ABS, highly used in the automotive and home
appliance industries, having analyzed three samples: one extruded, one newly
thermoformed and one of post-use. This study is justified to improve the understanding
of the structural changes to which ABS is subject, and, consequently, the most effective
and safe use of each technique in its reprocessing, focusing on minimizing the
depreciation of the material and optimizing its reuse.
