Evolução do e-commerce no Brasil: uma análise entre os anos 2000 e 2022

The e-commerce sector has been prominently emerging in the Brazilian economy over the years. Therefore, the overarching objective of this study is to scrutinize the evolution of e-commerce between the years 2000 and 2022, aiming to comprehend its correlation with the ongoing transformations in the country's economic landscape. The specific objectives encompass presenting the historical progression of e-commerce in Brazil and characterizing it through both qualitative and quantitative information. To address the stated objectives, a comprehensive literature review on the subject will be conducted, accompanied by a descriptive analysis of sector-specific data. The primary finding reveals that economic variables, such as inflation and interest rates, exert influence on the aforementioned sector. However, it is imperative to acknowledge that e-commerce is also significantly impacted by various other factors, including the widespread adoption of the internet and the ubiquitous use of smartphones.
