This Dissertation was written from a feminist and an interdisciplinary perspective, with the aim of reflecting on the presence or the invisibility of women as producers of Brazilian fictional literature validated by the academy. The feminist perspective intends to include demands from different feminisms, since the visibility of literature produced by women results from the struggles of women with different characteristics. Interdisciplinarity is presented through the analysis of our object of study from the following areas: Editorial Production, Education, Communication, Literature and Gender Relations (the latter greatly exemplified by the context of women's lives in Brazilian society). The methodological procedure used to investigate and write the Dissertation consists of document and bibliographic research in books, articles, websites and other official documents that can elucidate the status of women as a social minority. The research also aims to investigate the presence of women in Brazilian fictional editorial production, as well as in different literary awards using websites of publishers and associations that represent them. Finally, we will analyze lists of books recommended, between 2015 and 2026, as mandatory reading for taking two of the biggest entrance exams in Brazil (Fuvest/USP and Comvest/UNICAMP). These exams are very competitive since they are important gateways to two of the largest and most highly public Universities in the State of São Paulo and in Brazil. The final results of this research indicate that, although women make up more than half of the Brazilian population, their work in literature still does not represent the same portion of the population. It is also evident that female writing is still not properly recognized, especially when considering the mandatory reading recommended by the academy, represented here by the recommendations of the USP and the UNICAMP entrance exams.
