Resumo
This Undergraduate thesis aims to analyze how children in a Elementary school construct and manifest their masculinities and the influence of gender stereotypes on their behavior and interpersonal relationships. It discusses the existence of a hegemonic masculinity, which is the standard of agency to be followed by boys and men, and divergent masculinities, marked by affiliation with the female gender and which occupy subordinate positions in the hierarchy of gender relations. With a qualitative approach and bibliographical character, this research also presents autobiographical records that relate to the studied theme, in addition to field observations that sought to answer the problem-question that motivates the thesis: what is it to be a boy and in what ways do children in a Elementary school manifest their masculinities?
