This work focused on the Influence of the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP) on Teaching
Professionalization, focusing on the Center for the Pedagogy Course at the Federal University
of São Carlos (UFSCar), Sorocaba campus. Bringing aspects of the curricular matrix of the
Degree in Pedagogy Course, the main characteristics and objectives of the PRP, relating them
to the historical trajectory of teacher training, through the student's experience as a resident, and
other colleagues who shared their final reports, the work highlighted how the experience of
residents at PRP could contribute to teaching professionalization. As a Referential Theoretical,
we chose the main authors who discuss teacher training, bringing in their texts the different
knowledge necessary for the teaching profession, such as Demerval Saviani, Maria Isabel
Cunha, Leonor Maria Tanuri and Selma Garrido Pimenta. The research was expanded by the
Qualitative Research methodology, using documentary and bibliographical analyzes and
questionnaire application as resources.
