Resumen
Scientific research plays a fundamental role in the health field. In this context, the practice of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) has become increasingly popular, proposing to integrate the best available scientific evidence into clinical practice. This concept has also been included in the curricula of medical schools, aiming to train professionals familiar with the process of seeking and critically applying scientific evidence in their healthcare practice. This topic can be approached in various ways during the course, including student participation in scientific production, for example. This graduation thesis reflects on and discusses different ways in which a medical student at the Federal University of São Carlos can engage in scientific research, based on three experiential accounts, and how this positively impacts their professional development.
