Tarefa e atividade de projeto na concepção de unidades produtivas. O caso do projeto de uma fábrica eletro metalurgica
Resumen
This thesis aproaches the process of designing an appliance factory that produces mainly: fans,
exhaust fans and extractors of fruit juice. The company has a high level of verticalization in its
production process and has around 500 employees. In this work it is used the qualitative
research to the generation of theory, as a methodology, starts from the perspective of Reflective
Practice (SCHÖN, 1983), in which the reflection will be realized from the application of the
SimuCAD method. The objective is to present a description of what happens in the design
process, which addresses the method and perspective of technical construction and the
perspective of designers activity as a social construction. From this description the work
presents a working model for the project process in question. Five specific contributions for the
technical and social perspective are presented: (i) ABC Composed Classification, (ii) Expected
Capacity Equation, (iii) Horizontal Weighted Moving Average used in Demand Forecasting,
(iv) Presentation of the process of project in the technical and social perspective (v) Insertion
of knowledge derived from the real activity of the designer in the theory on Industrial Facilities
Design. In particular, the contributions help to highlight gaps in the theory of factory design
and help to build knowledge for this research field. The thesis is structured in five chapters, the
first presents an introduction to the research problem and to the methodological aspects, as well
as the thesis organization and its limitations. In the second chapter a review is presented, it
provides an immersion in the body of established knowledge. In the third chapter we present a
discussion about methodological aspects and an introduction about Reflective Practice. The
fourth chapter presents the results obtained in the design process and the fifth chapter presents
the considerations and contributions of the text from the perspective of the established body of
knowledge. The thesis is completed presenting a representative model of how the factory design
theory is structured. This theory is fundamentally based on the level of prescribed work for
designers, in this sense, the thesis proposes reflections at the level of real work in the project
and highlights such aspects in the context of a case.
