Tessituras teórico-conceituais sobre Inovação: uma análise das pesquisas brasileiras no âmbito dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação
Carlucci, Renan Augusto
Innovation has been the subject of study across various domains of knowledge. Within the field of Information Science, there exists a diversity of approaches to the theme. Consequently, the question arises: how has innovation been conceptualized and addressed in the research published by Postgraduate Programs in Information Science in Brazil? To address this query, the study aimed to investigate scientific publications expressed through dissertations and theses defended in the field of Information Science within the Brazilian context. The objective was to map the scientific production on the topic of innovation within dissertations and theses defended in Brazilian Postgraduate Programs in Information Science, with the aim of identifying: a) the conceptualization of innovation in the conducted research; b) the approaches employed in addressing innovation; c) the bibliography utilized in constructing the conceptual framework; and d) networks of cited works. Characterized by a descriptive and exploratory methodology, the research adopted the Systematic Literature Mapping (SLM) method to support the discussion and develop a theoretical framework for the innovation theme within the Brazilian Information Science community. Seventy-two works were identified, comprising 47 master's dissertations and 25 doctoral theses that explicitly addressed the concept of innovation. The results presented encompassed the mapping of concepts and approaches used in the innovation domain, the authors who produced the academic-scientific works, the bibliography utilized to support the epistemological conception of the concept, and the network of cited works. In the realm of scientific research, innovation concepts manifest along 03 (three) central domains: epistemological, historical, and economic-industrial. It was concluded that Innovation is a topic of research agenda within Information Science, considering information and knowledge as foundational elements in the inventive process, which precedes the emergence of innovation. Notably, innovation is characterized as an applied invention, whose utility and scope present as a viable solution to a specific need within a given context.

A Classificação Internacional de Doenças: usos na organização e representação da informação no contexto da saúde
Andrade, Evaldo Aguiar
The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) is the basis for identifying health trends and
statistics around the world. The objective of this study is to explain the specificities of the ICD
in order to establish a greater dialogue between the fields of Information Science and Health
regarding the organization of information and knowledge. To this end, a documentary research
was developed, an instrument to map the uses of the ICD by professionals working in the
health field and an opinion survey, exploratory, qualitative and transversal, to map the uses of
the ICD by professionals working in the health field. The documentary analysis showed that
concerns about the organization and representation of Information Science knowledge are
quite diverse in quantity and themes. To carry out the opinion research, an instrument was
developed following an exploratory and empirical approach. In this research, a convenience
population consisting of 127 healthcare professionals with higher education was considered.
The data show that 65.4% of participants declared themselves to be female, that brown
ethnicity was the most common (47.2%) and that the majority of professionals fall into the age
range of 31 to 40 years (47.2 %) and 41 to 50 (28.3%) years. In relation to the professions with
the highest number of participants, nursing stood out, with 34.6%, and technology areas, with
15%. The majority of respondents (74.8%) declared that they had some knowledge about the
ICD; however, only 7.1% know all its functions. Around 18.1% of professionals stated that they
had never used the ICD, while 60.3% stated that they had never received training on the ICD
and only 2.4% had received continuous training. The most used tool to find out the meaning
of an ICD code is Google, as this tool was recommended by 85% of participants. The main
barrier to using the ICD is the lack of knowledge about it (57.5%), as well as the lack of an
electronic system to support the use of the ICD (45.7%) and the lack of interest on the part of
the professionals themselves (34, 6%). Around 76.4% of professionals highlighted that having
training is the main facilitating element for using the ICD. Regarding the terminologies
considered essential for the health area, the ICD stands out, as it was remembered by the
majority of professionals (78.5%). As a qualitative result, the health professionals participating
in the study discussed three themes on how to improve the use of the ICD, namely: 1) Training
and continuing education; 2) Education in undergraduate courses, such as, for example, in
undergraduate health courses, a mandatory subject on the use of the ICD and encouraging its
use in professional internships; and 3) Adaptations in work environments, such as, for
example, incorporating the ICD into health information systems. This research reinforces that
there is no room for timidity in Information Science in the field of Health, as collaborations can
be established both to improve the ICD and to develop courses, disciplines and specialized
training.

Modelo SKOS e ISO 25964: similaridades das recomendações para representação de tesauros
Ferreira, Suelen Camilo
The Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS) data model serves for the availability and interoperable sharing of different types of Knowledge Organization Systems (KOS) in the Web environment. Thesaurus-type KOS play an important role in information retrieval and adhere to the ISO 25964 standard specifically for their construction and mapping. In this scenario, two factors are considered: the SKOS model was already widely used when the ISO 25964 standard emerged, and SKOS recommendations encompass various types of KOS, while ISO 25964 recommendations focus on thesauri. These factors indicate potential similarities between SKOS recommendations and ISO 25964 recommendations. Mapping and analyzing elements that compose the model and the standard contribute to the study and development of thematic representation instruments such as conceptual thesauri. In this context, the objective is to present similarities between the SKOS model and the ISO 25964 standard for the representation of thesauri. This is an exploratory and descriptive research with a qualitative approach, conducted through bibliographic research in national and international databases. The analyzed corpus totaled 25 publications. Eleven categories of similarities between the SKOS model and the ISO 25964 standard for the construction of thesauri were identified and discussed. The results provide theoretical and methodological contributions for the construction, migration, updating, and semantically interoperable maintenance of conceptual thesauri in the Web environment. However, few studies discuss the similarities between the SKOS model and the ISO 25964 standard. Suggestions for future and complementary research are presented.

Bibliotecas enquanto espaços de inclusão para pessoas com Síndrome de Down
Merichelo, Paula Maria Pereira
Down syndrome is one of the most prevalent disabilities in the world's population. In this context, there is a set of specific demands regarding the possibilities of support both for people with the syndrome and for those who share their routine. This study seeks to understand the perception of professional librarians about the services and information products available to people with Down Syndrome, in libraries in the city of São Carlos, in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. As a method, opinion research in human sciences was used with an exploratory and cross- sectional character, through a data collection instrument developed for the research. The participants' answers were described by simple frequency of absolute number and for the open question of the questionnaire a qualitative analysis was performed with grouping in thematic categories. The results showed that the librarians interviewed did not have specific training to meet the informational demands of people with Down Syndrome, but they are interested in seeking information and training to improve their professional practice and promote social justice and accessibility. Their suggestions included the need for continuing education on the subject and raising awareness of the class in relation to the informational specificities of all audiences. This diversity of opinions and considerations highlights the importance of promoting debate and reflection on care for people with Down Syndrome in libraries. It is essential to invest in training, interprofessional partnerships and technological resources to offer an inclusive, accessible and quality service.
