A agenda do Jornal Nacional: uma análise da cobertura de casos de corrupção
Abstract
Television has a central position within the Brazilian communication system. In this way, it relates directly to the population so as to influence it in some way through its programming. The news programs end up being elevated like the main pieces in the formation of the opinion of the viewers, making important the analyzes regarding the construction of image. In a context where politics increasingly relies on journalistic coverage to express to voters certain thoughts, it is extremely important to understand how political facts are covered. Cases of corruption, such as "Mensalão" and “Operation Lava Jato”, have obtained and still obtain great media coverage reaching a large space within the agenda of the news programs. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to analyze the coverage of cases of corruption by Globo's Jornal Nacional. To achieve this objective, the JN programs of the last two electoral periods will be used: 2014 and 2016.
