Introdução às variedades tóricas

Abstract

The main goal of this work is to study the concept of a ne toric varieties, as well as the elements of convex geometry necessary for their definition. At first, using the cones for this definition and posteriorly the affi ne semigroups, for a more general definition. Furthermore, we intend to characterize this object and explore important examples of this class of varieties, such as the description of the normalization of toric varieties via elements of convex geometry.
