Polímeros condutores: uma breve introdução ao assunto
Abstract
The science development is linked in to how the human being observes the nature and
removes the inputs for the construction of tools that facilitates their lifelong journey.
Perception of semiconductor properties in polymers is one of the discoveries that set
civilization to a high level in terms of the ability to adapt materials to their intended
purpose. Bringing lightness, flexibility, transparency, ease of processing into a single
polymer material was an important step in replacing metals as raw material for the
construction of numerous devices. However, in the 1970s, with the discovery of electrical
charge conduction characteristics in predominantly insulating polymers. From then on, a
range of sensors, organic screens, solar cells, electrochromic devices, etc. were
developed. The present work summarizes the main conductive polymers used in the
construction of such devices, permeating its history when Shirakawa accidentally
synthesized the first polymer, its synthesis and conduction mechanisms, as well as
research that has been modifying the way man interacts. with the world through the
pursuit of energy efficiency combined with the preservation of the environment
