The samples of the sediment in the reservoir had been carried out with the Ekman-Birge grab, and in the fisheries and the channels with artificial substrate. The assemblages of benthic macroinvertebrates had been analyzed taxonomic and structurally. The larvae of Chironomidae (Diptera) were the main organisms in all the environments. The predominance of Procladius sp. and Djalmabatista pulcher was observed in the two reservoirs. The spatial analysis of the taxa distribution in the depths, pointed out with to major variety of taxa in the less depth regions (< 2m) in the Represa Velha, in contrast of the Represa Nova. At the same time, the average densities of the organisms had been opposing in the two reservoirs, presenting respectively major and lesser values in the intermediate depths (>2<3m). Temporaly, major abundance of macroinvertebrates at the dry season was observed, where major number of individuals occurred, represented mainly for the Procladius sp. and D. pulcher. In the faunistic analysis with artificial substrate, Goeldichironomus maculatus was dominant. There was taxonomic similarity between the assemblages in the artificial substrates in the reservoirs, fisheries and channels. The cluster analysis between the sampling methods, clustering the fauna of the baskets with the artificial substrate in the two reservoirs, and the fauna collected with the Ekman-Birge grab. This result points out with respect to the problematic use of artificial substrate use as a tool to characterize the fauna of a system.Item type:Item, A caminho do rio: um estudo sobre as relações de gênero e meio ambiente entre os pescadores do Alto-Médio Rio São Francisco(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-07-27) ;Madeira, Thais Fernanda Leite ;Mancuso, Maria Inês Rauterhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/3038895593457591Item type:Item, Determinação in situ de fósforo, nitrato e amônio em solo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-07-28) ;Menezes, Eveline de Abreu ;Nogueira, Ana Rita de Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7034773971317045https://lattes.cnpq.br/8849367592224960The cultures platforms of productivity need to be optimized, owing to provide foods to an enhanced world population. A control of the soil fertility is necessary, in order to be adequately productive without, however, have losses for excess of nutrients, which could cause serious environmental problems. Due to soils and cultures requirements, nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizations are the more important ones. In this work, selective chemical sensors to phosphorus (PO4 3-), nitrate (NO3 -) and ammonium (NH4 +), installed in polymeric probes and their associated instrumentation were evaluated. The evaluation was carried with the addition of 0.1 mol L-1 P-PO4 3- solution to the soil, data acquisition supplied by the probes, collects of soil samples in the region where the probes were installed and determination of evaluated nutrients by conventional laboratory techniques. The PO4 3- amounts were determined by spectrophotometry after the following extraction methodologies: Mehlich-1, Mehlich-3 and ionic exchange resin. The results were compared with the fitted potentials registered by the probes, and the best correlation was obtained with the method of the resin. For evaluation of the probes, constructed with selective sensors to NO3 - and NH4 +, NH4NO3 salt was added directly to the soil. Four probes had been installed; one of them was used as control. Surface and 20-cm soil depth, region where the sensors were located, were periodically collected. The amounts of NO3 - and NH4 + had been determined by spectrophotometry, by using procedure based on Berthlot reaction adapted to a flow system. The results, compared with the potentials provided by the sensors, presented similar changes profiles. Great alterations in the sensors potentials had not been observed after addition of nitrogen fertilization, due to the little percolation of nutrients in the soil profile. The results indicate good response of the sensors, and the potential applicability of these probes to assist the monitoring of soil nutrients, owing the establishment of rational processes in the fertilizers uses by the cultures.Item type:Item, Rodovias em áreas urbanizadas e seus impactos na percepção dos pedestres(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-07-31) ;Silva Junior, Sílvio Barbosa da ;Ferreira, Marcos Antonio Garcia ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2643134259454260https://lattes.cnpq.br/8480076142039633This work presents the results of a opinion poll, applied to the inhabitants of an urban area along the BR-050 highway, in Uberlândia MG, carried out to estimate the importance of the impacts originated by the Barrier Effect and its characterization attributes. The Barrier Effect refers to the motorized transportation infrastructure impacts over the non-motorized transport. The method applied to this survey to determine the importance degree of each variable and its attributes of characterization related to the Barrier effect consists of a questionnaire, elaborated according to the Likert recommendations, and with the utilization of the Successive Intervals Method to determine the distance of the elements of a scale. The method which has been considered appropriate and easy to apply, produced satisfactory elements to the proposed analysis. The results show that the highway, inserted in a urban site, limitate the on foot transport for the inhabitants of the surroundings of the highway (effects), resultants of the Barrier Effect. It also was possible to identify the importance of defining attributes of each limitation (causes).Item type:Item, Avaliação da resistência mecânica de argamassas de cimento Portland contendo serragem de couro tratada em meio ácido(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-07-31) ;Silva, André Luiz Ribeiro Tachard da ;Morelli, Márcio Raymundohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0172837599844991Suitable destination of industrial solid wastes that have not well established or completely successful mitigation techniques is nowadays a fundamental important subject, all over the world. In Brazil, one of the most pollution-intensive industries is the tanning skin and processing leather industry. Among its wastes, there is a hazardous chromium-containing waste, named leather shaving, which needs technological alternatives to reintegrate its great quantity generated to materials life cycle. Based on materials engineering concepts, and from the experiences related in bibliography, this work proposes the leather shaving dissolution in phosphoric acid and later incorporation of this new product in Portland cement mortar; changes on the strength of mortar are very important, being the focus of this work. Mortars and cement pastes were made to serve as standards, and treated waste-containing samples were produced to compare the results and to try explaining their causes. The analysis of the experimental results shows that treated leather shaving addition inhibits hydration of Portland cement compounds, due to the phosphoric acid; this retard is disclosed by the increased paste setting time and the mortar mechanical strength development after 91 days, this strength is close to the standard sample one. Porosity remained almost unaltered, and the main microstructural change found was the calcium phosphate phase formation, detected by XRD and SEM. At last, cement matrix was effective at fixing chemically Cr (III), an important result in view of environmental aspects.Item type:Item, Medidas de condutividade na caracterização de complexos inorgânicos: um levantamento bibliográfico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-01) ;Velho, Rodrigo Garcia ;Batista, Alzir Azevedohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6469642481998660In this work was done a review of the data published in inorganic chemistry journals (Inorganic Chemistry and Inorganica Chimica Acta in the years 1973-2005 and 1983-2005, respectively) on values of measurements of conductivity of coordination compounds in organic solvents and water. The main objective of the work was up to date the data collect by GEARY in his paper The use of conductivity measurements in organic solvents for the characterization of coordination compounds published in the journal in 1971 . The data of the conductivity of the complexes were listed o a table according to the solvent used for the measurements in the respective electrolyte and the final propose of the work was to establish a range of conductivity for each type of electrolyte.Item type:Item, Aplicação de técnicas espectrométricas, cromatográficas e quimiométricas na avaliação da autenticidade de plantas utilizadas como fitoterápicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-01) ;Daolio, Cristina ;Ferreira, Antonio Gilberto ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3676462220401452https://lattes.cnpq.br/0173677456119225The use of herbal medicines in the Brazilian market has increased in the last few decades. Therefore, the quality control for herbal products, as well as traditional medicines, is extremely important and for both: the manufactured products and the raw material. However, to guarantee the product s quality implies in an increase of the process costs in an industry. Currently, the quality of herbal extracts is predicted by analysis of selected marker compounds, which are often characteristic chemicals of a specific herb, but that many times do not present any relation with bioactivity. As a consequence, the marker-based approach is an incomplete and unsatisfactory method for quality control of herbal medicines In order to cope with this problem, current developments in improving sensitivity and analytical capacity of known techniques, had made possible the plant s complex extract evaluation. The present work describes an analytical methodology for the phytomedicines catuaba, espinheira-santa and guaco, based on the metabolic profile approach, where the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance techniques, as well as the High Performance Liquid Chromatography, are employed to obtain a fingerprinting of these herbal medicines. Nevertheless, due to the complex spectral data profile (1H spectra and chromatograms) evaluation it was necessary to employ chemometrics. These multivariate methods made possible to extract some relevant information and to prove the authenticity of the analyzed commercial samples. The commercial catuaba samples analysis by HR-MAS NMR/ chemometrics showed be more efficient, when compared with liquid NMR, indicating that the species sold as the phytomedicine catuaba is Trichillia catigua. Whereas, the results obtained for espinheira-santa showed an opposite situation pointing out that the efficiency of the HR-MAS is correlated with the physiological constitution of the plant material analyzed. Beside NMR results, HPLC analysis showed that the majority of the espinheira-santa commercial samples do not employ Maytenus ilicifolia species. The guaco results obtained by both, NMR and HPLC techniques were inconclusive needing the use of a complementary technique. Therefore, the present work also describes the use of the High Performance Liquid Chromatography coupling with Abstract Tandem Mass Spectrometry, by means of SRM experiments, to evaluate some commercial guaco samples. This technique provides the detection of the coumarin 1,2-benzopyrone in all the analyzed samples, due to the SRM high sensitivity, thus certifying its authenticity. The results obtained by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, High Performance Liquid Chromatography and chemometrics, proved to be valuable tools for the evaluation of complex phytomedicines matrix. In specific cases, where high sensitivity in the analytical method is required, Mass Spectrometry can be used as an additional technique.Item type:Item, Análise do comportamento da fluidodinâmica do leito de jorro com misturas de tamanho de partículas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-01) ;Bacelos, Marcelo Silveira ;Freire, José Teixeirahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/2270677706718167This research study presents an investigation to quantify the stability of spouting regimes (by pressure fluctuations) and particle segregation level in conical spouted beds operated with a variety of particle combinations with uniform size or size distribution. In the presence of glycerol, a study on the effect of interparticle forces in the conical spouted bed fluid dynamics behavior with inert particle mixtures was also employed. Data show that, at a standard deviation from pressure signals of 50 Pa, in beds composed of inert particle of uniform size or size distribution stable spouting regime can be achieved. Moreover, the analysis of segregation indexes revealed that particle segregation becomes less pronounced as dpL/dpS is reduced from 2.85 to 1.98 and bed height is increased from 0.105 to 0.195 m. When glycerol is added into the bed, the results show that the dimensionless minimum spouting velocity (vmj/vmj0) does not change significantly with increase in glycerol concentration for the reference mixture. However, for all other mixtures of dpL/dpS > 1.98 employed, vmj/vmj0 increases with increase in the glycerol concentration into the bed, and this increase is more pronounced for flat and binary mixtures. The dimensionless of minimum spouting pressure drop (∆Pmj/∆Pmj0) decreases with increase in the glycerol concentration for all mixtures used. The application of a theoretical analysis, predicting the interparticle forces, shows that the change in minimum spouting condition as glycerol concentration increases can be explained by the magnitude of these forces.Item type:Item, Origem dos momentos magnéticos localizados em ligas de cromo com metais de transição por oscilações de Friedel(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-02) ;Souza, Paulo Eduardo Narcizo de ;Oliveira, Adilson Jesus Aparecido de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4640148190073166https://lattes.cnpq.br/2067881167853475The fundamental magnetic properties of chromium and its alloys Cr(1¡x)Nb(x) and Cr(1¡x)V(x), were investigated with the aim to achieve a better comprehension about the nature of the spin density waves. Was dened the edge between the AF1 and AF2 phases on the Cr(1¡x)Nb(x) alloys as function of niobium concentration. Using x-rays di®raction techniques was studied de formation of antiferromagnetic domains in the surfaces with [001] direction of chromium samples. As observed, cooling the sample under applied magneticeld do not create new magnetic domains, actuating only on its reorien- tation. The magnetic history of sample does not in°uence the surface magnetic domains formation, been an exclusive property of the sample surface crystalographic orientation. Was observed the formation of localized magnetic moment on paramagnetic phase of Cr(1¡x)Nb(x) alloys. This phenomenon early studied in Cr(1¡x)V(x) alloys, shown important qualitative di®erences which are explained on Friedel oscillations picture generated by impurity atoms. Was realized x-rays di®raction experiments which provided evidences of the existence of Friedel oscillations in Cr(1¡x)V(x) alloys.Item type:Item, Processamento e caracterização de cerâmicas eletro-ópticas do sistema ferroelétrico (Pb1-xLax)TiO3(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-04) ;Badillo, Fernando Andrés Londoño ;Garcia, Ducinei ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5236758856687873https://lattes.cnpq.br/6266238277645440The ferroelectric titanate of lead modified with Lanthanum metal system (or PLT) is the most studied of the perovskite structure. It is known that ceramic bodies with specify compositions and adequately chemical preparations can present transparency. However, a quantitative or qualitative analysis of its electro-optics characteristics was not carried through. Therefore, in this work it was ceramic preparation of PLT and the characterization and analysis of concentration of Lanthanum metal and the conditions of processing influence in its microstructural, dielectric, ferroelectrics, optic, structural and electro-optics properties. In this work the solid state was used in the obtained of PLT, using the nominal formula (Pb1-xLax)TiO3, with 0.18_ x _ 0.23. Ceramic bodies had been firing by the uniaxial Hot Pressing technique. Heat treatments in conventional oven under O2 and PbO atmosphere, had been used for the improvement of the transmitance of the samples. In the DRX analysis it was observed formation of perovskite phase with tetragonal symmetry as principal in the powder with little variation of the tetragonalidade factor in function of the Lanthanum metal concentration. For the densitied ceramics, it was meet perovskite phase with tetragonal symmetry and an reduction of the tetragonalidade factor of with the increase of the Lanthanum metal concentration. The grain average size of the ceramic bodies linearly increased with the Lanthanum metal concentration, presenting distinct dependence for each composition in relation to the heat treatment. The dielectric and ferroelectrics properties had been affected by the high conductivity presented for the ceramic bodies with less than 20h of thermal treatment. Such conductivity, as well as the opacity and the yellow color observed in the samples, was associated with the presence of the phase PbO in the grain boundaries. However, high values of transmitance in the next infra-red and visible region and less dielectric losses in low frequencies could have been observed in samples with 20h thermal treatment, depending on the Lanthanum metal concentration. For x=0.23, the highest concentration of analyzed La, the ceramic bodies thermal treatments presented a reduction in the transmittance, probably due ix to the effect of light scattering of rich Lanthanum metal phases precipitated in the grain boundaries (even though it was not detected for DRX). For the first time, the electro-optic coefficients could have been considered for PLT ceramics. The results had shown the importance of thermal treatment after-hot pressing and the concentration of Lanthanum metal in the obtaining of the transparent ceramic bodies with structural, microstructural, electric and optic properties adjusted for the technological applications.Item type:Item, Estudo fitoquímico de Citrus: resistência a Xylella fastidiosa e interação com Oncometopia facialis(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-04) ;Abdelnur, Patrícia Verardi ;Silva, Maria Fátima das Graças Fernandes da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0457632122660653https://lattes.cnpq.br/0386805742968055This work describes sixteen substances isolated by C. limonia: xanthyletin, seselin, xanthoxyletin, trans-kellactone, trans-decursidinol, junosmarin, scopoletin, isoscopoletin, demethylsuberosin, xanthoarnol, clausarin, limonianin, 5,4 - dihydroxy-6-(3 -methyl-2 -buthenyl)-2 ,2 -dimethylpyrano(5 ,6 -7,8)flavanone, β- sitosterol, estigmasterol e campesterol. Three of them are especially important: 5,4 -dihydroxy-6-(3 -methyl-2 -buthenyl)-2 ,2 -dimethylpyrano(5 ,6 -7,8)flavanone that was unknown in the literacy, trans-kellactone and trans-decursidinol that weren t found previously in the Rutaceae family but at Apiaceae family. The chemical constituents isolated by the upper and low parts from the grafted plant (C. sinensis on C. limonia) and from ungrafted C. limonia were compared. It indicated that the grafted plant has a metabolic translocation process. The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration of many substances isolated from plants of Rutaceae family was related. The test was against the bacteria Xylella fastidiosa that causes Citrus Variegated Chlorosis. The successful classes the pyranocoumarins and flavones whose MIC was 1,0 mg/mL. We have studied the plant-insect interaction and discovered that the grafted plant (C. sinensis on C. limonia) undergoes chemical alteration of the volatile compounds and essential oils when it is in contact with the sharpshooter. The sharpshooters Oncometopia facialis belongs to the Cicadellidae family and carries the Xylella fastidiosa. This chemical alteration was greater in the volatile compounds than in the essential oils of the plants. Different amounts of Hesperidin were found in the grafted plant when different species of Citrus were analized: C. limonia without CVC, C. reticulata without CVC, C. sinensis on C. limonia with and without CVC. The C. limonia presented the lower amount of the secondary metabolic and the C. sinensis on C. limonia presents the higher amount. The higher amounts of Hesperidin were found in sick plants witch corresponds the metabolic alteration that occurs when the plant is infected by the bacteria.Item type:Item, Influência da adição de pó de retífica em uma matriz de cimento de fosfato de magnésio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-04) ;Ribeiro, Daniel Véras ;Morelli, Márcio Raymundo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0172837599844991https://lattes.cnpq.br/4754562885515304In the present work, the magnesium phosphate cement use feasibility in the organic and inorganic hazardous industrial wastes encapsulation and the grinding dust of clutch discs influence (hazardous waste - classroom I) in the final properties of composites and mortars formed by this kind of cement was evaluated. The magnesium phosphate cements are material formed from the reaction between the magnesium oxide and soluble phosphates in water, such as the ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, which becomes solid at the ambient temperature from the formation of hydrated phases in the material. They are extreme-fast setting time cements, which acquire high mechanical resistance at early ages, comparing to the ordinary Portland cement. Initially, it was obtained the reference composition proportion constituents (without the waste and sand), adding, later, waste in 10% to 40% contents in relation to the cement mass. These compositions were analyzed comparatively with regard to the reference sample (0%) in regards to the physical and mechanical characteristics, setting time, analysis of the phases formed by DRX and the microstructure (MEV), choising of the 3 more promising compositions (with 10%, 20% and 30% of waste), that were evaluated by leaching/solubilization tests. After to be approved, mortar specimens with the wastes contents chosen in the previous stages were been molded and analyzed by mechanical tests (axial compression and traction by diametrical compression), water absorption by capillarity (NBR 9779) and comment of the microstructure (MEV). Finally, the compositions and mortars were submitted to an artificially-accelerated aging process corresponding to 1 year to the verification of this waste containing matrix durability with the presence of waste. The analyses of the results showed that the magnesium phosphate cement has the capacity to encapsulate the grinding dust, resulting in composites classroom II-A.Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento de metodologia para identificação de oportunidades de inovação tecnológica em tratamento de superfícies de jóias folheadas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-07) ;Spinola, Adriana Tahereh Pereira ;Gregolin, José Angelo Rodrigues ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7842651773105125https://lattes.cnpq.br/8238548827929076Technological innovation has been greatly discussed worldwide for its central role in economy. One important factor to innovation is the identification of technological opportunities. Information on customer requirements is particularly important on identifying new opportunities for it leads to a much safer way to new product launch success. In this context, the objective of the present study is to develop and to apply a methodology capable of identifying technological innovation opportunities focused on customer s needs. This methodology has used a well known product development technique called Quality Function Development (QFD) as one of the analytical tools of Competitive Intelligence (CI). Other analytical tools used were: Industry analysis, SWOT and patent analysis. The developed CI cycle based methodology was then applied in Eletrochemical, one of the enterprises of the cluster established in Limeira city, which is the greatest South American producer and exporter of plated jewellery. The innovation opportunities identification focused on surface treatment technologies, taken as one of the key technologies of that Industrial Agglomerate. The results showed a tendency for cleaner processes usage within surface treatment sector that can be applied in plated jewellery. From these emerge technologies such as Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), nanotechnology based process, or even galvanization baths that substitute cyanide or metals for nickel solutions. The identified technologies and complementary information not only built up the basis of a technological follow up but also guided Eletrochemical decision on planning an internal R&D department. The results proved the proposed methodology capacity to identifying potential technological innovation, as well as its strategic relevance as a basis for decision on R&D and technological management.Item type:Item, Práticas de coordenação no canal de distribuição da cadeia automotiva(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-07) ;Ferreira, Heloisa Sousa RibeiroAlcântara, Rosane Lúcia ChicarelliThe main change in modern businnes management is the supply chain building and management, due to increasing need to turn them more competitive, in result of the recognition that the competition, in these days, happens between supply chains, no more between isolated business. Besides managing its internal activities, the supply chain management has the challenge of coordinating and managing its partners, including suppliers and customers. The references indicate some organizational and management tools that can help in performing those activities, and in this paper, they will be called coordinating practices to suplly chain management. This paper focus is to analyse the application of some tools in the automotive channel, and the main objectives are: identify and evalute the benefits performance reached through the use and application of some coordinating practices in automotive supply chain, focalizing the relationship between industry and channel, formed by car dealerships. The secondary objectives are: identify power, dependende and conflict relationships between OEM and channel; define the leadership and control; verify the main franchising contracts characteristics; identifiy the impact and the benefits of coordinating iniciatives in different car dealership sizes. Among its reasons, this paper aims to fill out the gap in researched literature, marked by few academic studies with unit of analysis in car vehicles distribution or in industry-distribution channel relationship. In this paper, the research type is a exploratory survey in one of the four main automotive industries in country, and in its respective channel. Expecting that the research results improve the practices applicability, and also help both industry and dealerships in managing the existing relationship.Item type:Item, O Centro de Divulgação Científica Cultural da Univerisdade de São Paulo, campus São Carlos: um projeto de extensão universitária(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-08) ;Canales, Renata PereiraBuffa, EsterThe present study endeavours to contribute to a better understanding of the education in this country by means of a case study of the Centro de Divulgação Científica e Cultural CDCC (Centre for Scientific and Cultural Promotion). This centre was established in 1980 by the São Carlos campus of the University of São Paulo and since then put under the care of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry. The CDCC operates educational projects aimed at fostering scientific curiosity in basic educational level students. The investigation covers the process of CDCC s creation and seeks comprehension of its first motivation and objectives as well as peruses into the history of its building, which once hosted the Engineering School of USP-São Carlos. It does also investigate the services offered to the community, analyses CDCC administrative rules, and more incisively, reasons out the role of the Experimentoteca , the initial project that begot the Centre itself, and whose scope is to provide means of empirical experience of scientific theories for children at the basic level of education. The Experimentoteca is a portable laboratory of sciences that, under request, is taken to schools for classroom demonstrations. This project, initially restricted to São Carlos City and region, is currently extended to 31 cities of 13 different states. Following the steps of Buffa and Nosella, an epistemological frame of reference is taken from work and educational relations as well as from the relations of general overview and singular descriptions, as established by the New History, along with analysis of documents and facts under the educational viewpoint of the country. The sources are both the literature concerning community roles of the university, defined as one of the corners of the university s triple mainstay in the 5,540/68 Bill and the 1988 Constitution, and yet the literature concerning the history of Brazilian education, chiefly after the 5,692/71 Bill, which was in force when the CDCC was created. Additional research sources are magazines, books, scientific articles concerning the CDCC and its building, as well as CDCC s reports and governance rules. Interviews with CDCC s workers and founders and questionnaires applied to students using the Experimentoteca are yet complementary sources. Data analyses avail a conclusion that CDCC orientation differs from the patronizing stance that pervades most of community services. Indeed, evidence was produced as to suggest that CDCC s intervention fosters reflection and responsibility among students. Nevertheless, the scientific curiosity does not seem to blossom as expected. School and social-family adverse environments do not make room for such: these are children of low income working class parents, who are educationally deprived and subjected by a neglected educational policy that includes deteriorated buildings, unhealthy classrooms, and teachers discouraged by low wages and bad working conditions. The CDCC s work stands alike a clean drop over a polluted river but its initiative is not useless, and does meet its best meaning in the respect to citizenship and in the interchange of lay and academic wisdom provided by the collaboration between university and community. There remains a hope that such values that exceed school limits be dully appreciated by the country politicians.Item type:Item, Participação do fornecedor de ingredientes no desenvolvimento de produtos: estudo de casos em processadoras de bebidas.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-09) ;Onoyama, Marcia MitikoAlves, Maria Rita Pontes AssumpçãoThe capacity of introducing new products in the market has been considered as an important factor for companies competitiveness. This is the reality of the food industry that adopts technological and organizational changes in their productive processes, the materials supply and the products distribution, mainly for products differentiation. These changes evidence the suppliers and distributors growing to the food processed supply chain. Then, the importance of this study: its contribution for the understanding of the supplier s paper in the new beverage development process. Besides, the researched theme has relevance considering the shortage of works that analyze the relationship of ingredients suppliers in the food chain. It is had as presupposition, based on the literature, that the supplier involvement in the product development process propitiates time and cost reduction in the product development, quality improvement of the acquired materials and larger access facility and technology application. The analysis of the suppliers involvement in the supply chain focused in their participation in the buyer s new product development process, narrowing to the ingredients suppliers. This work was developed with multiple cases studies in four companies of the segments of no alcoholic drinks (fresh juice and powdered soft drinks) and drunk milky and a common ingredient supplier to those companies. Those segments were chosen due to the great growth of the demand by these products, given the appeal of their functional (health) and convenience (comfort). It was observed, mainly, that the responsibility degree of the supplier in the product development is function of its technical competence (knowledge and experience). It was also verified that the supplier s participation that happens in the initial phases of the new beverage process development, facilitates the access and technology application in the food product development process.Item type:Item, Dinâmica e estrutura genética populacional de abelhas Euglossini (Hymenoptera: Apidae) visitantes florais de Thevetia peruviana em áreas urbanas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-16) ;Uribe, Margarita Maria López ;Del Lama, Marco Antoniohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/7198095288825585Item type:Item, Sólidos micro-mesoestruturados tipo zeólita ZSM-5/peneira molecular MCM-41 - síntese e estudo de propriedades(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-16) ;Gonçalves, Marli LansoniUrquieta-González, Ernesto AntonioIn the transformation of bulky molecules, the necessity of catalysts that allow the diffusion to and from the active sites located in the interior of the porous system has become of higher interest. The restriction for the diffusion of this type of molecule in zeolites has led the community to study routes that can make possible to obtain solids that allow the diffusion in mesoporous and simultaneously possess the intrinsic properties of microporous zeolites. In this context, the objective of this work was the synthesis of micro-mesostructured Zeolite ZSM-5/MCM-41 Molecular Sieve type solids. These solids were prepared under hydrothermal conditions in two stages. Initially was prepared a gel of ZSM-5 seeds, which was subsequently crystallized in the presence of cetyltrimetylammonium bromide (CTABr), used as structure directing agent in the synthesis of the MCM-41. The influence of the Si/Al ratio in the seeding gel and the effect of both the time and temperature used in the preparation of such gel and during crystallization were evaluated. X-ray diffraction in the low and wide angle region, nitrogen adsorption/desorption, FTIR spectroscopy and scanning and transmission electron microscopy data evidenced the formation of micro-mesostructured ZSM-5/MCM-41 materials. It is suggested that the formation of the microporous structure occurs by an intraparticle "solid-to-solid" process through the transformation of the walls of the mesoporous into crystalline structure. During the growth of the crystals, the surfactant micelles are dislocated, causing loss of the symmetry of the mesoporous arrangement. However, the micelles remain unchanged in a random array, generating after calcination irregularly arranged mesoporous, but possessing uniform diameters. The cristallinity of the formed ZSM-5 crystals, the volume of the mesoporous and the specific surface area of the final solid were influenced by the Si/Al ratio in the seeding gel and by the time and temperature used in the aging and during the stage of mesostructuration/crystallization. The optimization of this set of variables will allow the control of the ratio between the obtained microporous and mesoporous phases, thus making possible the preparation of tailor-made adsorbents and catalysts for the separation and transformation of bulky molecules.Item type:Item, Definição do banco de dados DOG para obtenção de ortologia em múltiplos proteomas através do padrão PVOM(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-08-17) ;Martelli, Vinicius Garibaldi ;Biajiz, Mauro ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8331600770992494https://lattes.cnpq.br/0351579196557328This work presents a modeling of a data base and the process created for its instantiation with the objective to store the information necessary for the application of a new form of attainment of regions of contiguous genes that had conserved its contents, order and functions between some species of organisms prokaryotes during the evolutionary process, in order to make possible the prediction of genes and unknown proteins being based on existing information already. It also presents a tool of consultations created to make possible to the user the access to this information.
