Item type:Item, Estrutura e gestão dos canais de distribuição na indústria de alimentos para cães e gatos (petfood)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-11-29) ;Bernasconi, MarcosAlcântara, Rosane Lúcia ChicarelliThe pet, especially dogs and cats, possess a growing participation in home living and in the human and social coexistence, linking intensely with their owners and providing moments of pleasure and happiness. The market of consumption of goods and services, for maintenance of the lifestyle of these pets, especially its feeding, has been growing globally in great scale, especially in Brazil. The accelerated growth of the Petfood market, the changes in the purchase behavior and consumption and the form as the products are marketed by the distribution channels, specialized, grocery and discount stores, present a great administration challenge for the industries. In function of this, this work was accomplished with the main objective to study and comprehend which are the main functions of the structures of distribution of Petfood used by the manufacturers to reach the final consumer. It is also aimed at to know as the main manufacturers manage their distribution channels and which strategy they use.Item type:Item, A percepção ambiental como instrumento de apoio de programas de educação ambiental da Estação Ecológica de Jataí (Luiz Antonio, SP)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-11-29) ;Fiori, Andréia de ;Santos, José Eduardo dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8533387365058570https://lattes.cnpq.br/9669967986443583The actual development model based on the conversion of natural habitats into agricultural landscapes has been considered the major environmental impact resulting from anthropogenic activities and constitutes a constant menace to the biodiversity and it could be related to the perception of the society about the environmental problem and the regional producing activities. In this sense, the investigation of the environmental perception constitutes an indispensable tool for research projects that approach the relationships human-environmental and environmental management. The main objective of this work was environmental perception investigation of the fundamental educational of three surrounding places (Luiz Antônio, Rincão, Santa Rita do Passa Quatro and São Simão, SP) to the Ecological Station of Jataí (EEJ), Luiz Antônio, SP The results of the present study allowed to observe that the most of the educational ones conceives the environment as pure nature, restricted to the biophysical components, in that the human being is just an observer and the perception of the concept of Environmental Education presents a small vision in that the educational process limits to the transmission of specific and natural knowledge, just centered in the preservation and conservation of the nature.. The environmental perception of the educational ones revealed a content of lived experiences in relation to the environmental impacts associated to the patterns of the landscape local, conservation as meaning attribution for EEJ and environmental education jointly as proposed of use for EEJ and, the natural characteristics as main determinant of the preferences and quality landscapes. The results of that investigation facilitated the rising of the knowledge of the values area in the technical and human context, essential to determine the specific objectives of a Program of Education Environmental followed to a conservation unit.Item type:Item, Representações e experiências de uma comunidade rural e escolar sobre o ambiente, Pouso Alto - MG(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-11-30) ;Andrés, Adriana ;Freitas, Denise dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/2218225799433476Considering the importance and necessity of developing an Environmental Education to understand the totality of the aspects that permeate the relationship between human being and nature, aiming to establish harmonical equilibrium, the present study seeks to identify the representations and experiences from a rural and scholar community about environment. This study has been developed in Pouso Alto district, Minas Gerais State(Brasil) with the participation of a rural community and about 55% of the teachers from the two local public schools in the urban area of this municipality that teach said rural students. The methodological procedure has been based in a qualitative approach, using for data raising, questionnairies applied to the teacher s group and interviews to the community. The analysis result allowed to verify that the anthropocentrical representations are more frequent among the teachers group, while naturalistic representations predominate in the students group and those that express a state of mind (feeling) are more present in the parents group. It has been verified that traditional representations of the Environmental Education, emphasizing the utilitarian perspective or as a way to the conscientization, have strong connections with the teachers environmental representations and being so, have influence on their educative practices. The interdisciplinary practices, on their turn, are not quite understood as an integrating and a team-work of the different subjects. However, it s possible to realize the teachers intention when approaching the theme in the various knowledge fields, despite students frequently points out that environmental matters are commonly discussed during Sciences or Biology classes. The environmental problems identified by both groups and the environmental changes reported by the community, frequently refer to the water diminishing and polution, the deforestation and the vegetation burning-over, very common in the urban-rural context. It has been concluded that both teachers and parents exert influence on values and ideas that permeate student s representations, indicating the necessity that education be thought under a critical perspective so as to make possible to the various groups a deeper comprehension and more effective action, essential to the environmental quality improvement.Item type:Item, Avaliação do comportamento visuomotor de lactentes nascidos pré-termo durante o primeiro trimestre de vida: medida para proteção da saúde ocular(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-11-30) ;Ruas, Teresa Cristina Brito ;Martinez, Claudia Maria Simõeshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6751068599794334The primary function of vision is related to achievements in infant development. The visual behavior is known to be acquired once visual stimuli are processed by retinal cells and then transmitted to the cerebral cortex by neurovisual pathways. This neuromaturational process progresses as visual stimuli are received by the neurons and synapses are moved from one nerve cell to another, thus promoting a normal visual development. The prematurity of the infant has been described to be an important indicator of risk for morbidity during the visuomotor development. Infants likely to have visuomotor impairment during this period should thus be provided with special follow-up. In this regard, this longitudinal study aims to assess the visuomotor behavior in infants at risk for disorders during the first three months of life. The infants were recruited from the Program for Detecting Audiological Disorders in Newborns (DAANE), in the Center of Studies and Research on Rehabilitation Prof. Dr. Gabriel Porto at the School of Medical Sciences of the University Estadual of Campinas (CEPRE/FCM/UNICAMP). The participants were evenly divided into two groups of 21 infants. The experimental group was composed of preterm infants with gestational age under 37 full weeks, and a correected age of 1 to 3 months. The control group consisted of fullterm infants with gestational age ranging from 37 full weeks to 41 weeks and 6 days, and a chronological age of 1 to 3 months. Each infant was assessed three times at regular intervals through the Method for the Assessment of Infant Visual Behavior. The data was stored in a file form for the data bank of the program Statistical Package for Social Sciences for Personal Computer (Versão 14). The Cochran s Q-test was applied to compare the three months (assessment) in each group, and the Yates test was used to compare the two groups in each month. The results indicated that although linearity and sequence in visuomotor achievements were similar between the two groups, the rhythm and pattern of visuomotor development were different between them. In the first two months of life, fullterm infants were shown to acquire the great majority of the oculomotor and apendicular functions in a more rapid and frequent way. These results point to the importance of correcting gestational age when assessing the visuomotor behavior of infants at risk. This study provides a material for informational and instrumental support for parents regarding the normal visual development of infants from birth to the sixth month of life. Furthermore, this study contributes towards a further understanding of the visuomotor development of preterm infants, and promotes an opportune detection of possible signs indicative of visuomotor impairment so that the infant can receive a timely diagnosis.Item type:Item, Representação ambiental de alunos do ensino fundamental. Implantação da agenda 21 em escola pública municipal de Batatais/SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-11-30) ;Pozza, Didier David ;Santos, José Eduardo dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8533387365058570https://lattes.cnpq.br/9486706412173644This study verified the representation of environment and environmental damages by the students from three different elementary schools in Batatais/SP. The research was taken through a questionary, and the result showed that most part of the students did not include the human being as an element of the environment. In a generic way, the most cited environmental damage, as well as the most perceived, according to the place, was the one relating to deforestation and forest fire activities. The great number of students realize the effect of this occurrence in their health and in the air, and the main actions suggested by them to the population are the ones related to right garbage destination and trees plantation. The book, the teacher and the television appear as the principal environmental sources and the people are pointed out as the most responsible ones for these damages; at the same time they lay the responsability on the government for the resolution of this problem. The implantation of Agenda 21 in a public school in basic education in Batatais/SP was evaluated. For this purpose, a socio-environmental diagnosis of a school was elaborated. The development of this Agenda 21 was conducted according to partnership principles, dialogue and consesus, suggested by this document, stimulating the capacity of observing, thinking and acting of the students and teachers, arousing self critical judgement, contributing to active citzenship practice, acting on the environment conservation.Item type:Item, O uso do computador, a alfabetização e a pós-alfabetização: o que dizem educando/as do MOVA(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-01) ;Gonçalves, Becky Henriette ;Mello, Roseli Rodrigues dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/7105367132057191The present study aims, as it main goal, to anlyze the contribuitions of the utilization of computer to the literacy and postliteracy of teens and adults and for the superation of self-protection. Yet abording the new tendencies imposed by the Information Society or Informacional Capitalist Society. From documents, theoretical references, observations and discussions with the students in alphabetical and post alphabetical situation and using the computer as one more tool in this process of teaching-learning, it was found that such tool has many benefits for lecture and writen acquisition for the process of escolarization of teens and adults, as well as it makes possible an insertion, yet as initial in the Information Society, and qualification for jobs, that in the actual context demands to deel with much more with those new information and comunication tecnologies. Thus, as they notice historical subjects and capable of transformation, alphabetized, social and economical inserted, the students surpass the social speech built by them, of self-protection. Looking foward to contribute with the teaching of teens and adults in the acquisition of lecture and writing for a critical concept and world transform, this study alerts for the using of the computer in the process of alfabetization and post-alfabetization of teens and adults is an instrument with big contributions, wich points the necessity of elaboration and implementation of public politics in this way of inclusion and superation of social inaquilities and educatives.Item type:Item, Proposta metodológica de avaliação do grau de satisfação de população de área urbana. Estudo de caso: bairro Antenor Garcia, município de São Carlos, SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-01) ;Gaspar, Waldir José ;Santos, José Eduardo dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8533387365058570https://lattes.cnpq.br/8745054546680709Although public politics determine priorities in the evaluation of the development and in the accomplishment of the human well-being, this work considers the possibility in evaluating the degree of satisfaction of the population, based on the priorities and indicators from the population perspective. The subject assumes extreme outlines when related to the correct use of the public resources and of the failure of municipal programs destined to the residents mainly inserted in the urban outlying space. Evaluation of the degree of satisfaction of the population comes as a strategy to evaluate the impacts produced by the investments - publics or private - in projects of social development. In this study the population of a recent outlying neighborhood (Social Division into lots Antenor Garcia), of the city of São Carlos, SP, with approximately five thousand inhabitants, was considered. With base in the answers for a single open and synthetic question: What does you like and unlike in the neighborhood in what you live? ", a questionnaire with seventy six subjects contained in six variables: Health; Social; Education and Recreation; Safety; Habitation and Environment; and Transports, was elaborated. As for the form of the scale of the questionnaire it was adopted of the type LIKERT, with referencial of OSGOOD, with answers induced for Totally Disagree (DT); "Disagree Partially" (DP); "Without Opinion" (SO); "Agree Partially" (CP) or Totally Agree (CT). The consistence measures among the correlations were made with base in the coefficient Alpha of CRONBACH, that resulted in: medium to high correlation (>0.66) for internal analysis to the variables; and medium correlation (0.46), for inter-variable analysis - function of the correlated aspects (e.g. Safety versus Health). The variable Transports were the one that presented smaller degree of satisfaction - probably due to distance of the neighborhood downtown of São Carlos. While the item public illumination which belongs to the variable Habitation and Environment was the one with best degree of satisfaction - probably due to the appeal of some of the aspects of safety manifested by the habitants of this suburb. One expects that this methodology comes to contribute to deal with the conflict between the interests of the population and the urban planning, in way to understand and to assist the real needs of those populations, in the application of the public resources.Item type:Item, A noção de perspectivismo na filosofia de Blaise Pascal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-01) ;Pinto, Rodrigo Hayasi ;Cass, Mark Julian Richter ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6549114665097353https://lattes.cnpq.br/7643455105655507The aim of this thesis is to understand Blaise Pascal's philosophical conception of science and morality on the basis of a more fundamental notion the notion of perspectivism. By not basing knowledge on ultimate and absolute terms, the French philosopher pointed the way to a new kind of knowledge, no longer guided by metaphysics, but by a hypotheticaldeductive ideal. This new kind of knowledge was to have provisional principles as points of departure, their rôle being that of epistemological perspectives in the sphere of science and practice.Item type:Item, Freud e Schopenhauer: os limites de um diálogo sobre a moral(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-01) ;Martins, Eduardo de Carvalho ;Simanke, Richard Theisen ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5431145327759147https://lattes.cnpq.br/4618092653487544This dissertation is a result of the verification of an expressive numbers of academic references relating Freud s work with a possible direct Schopenhauer s work influence. By going through the relationship existent between the Dantzig philosopher and the Viennese psychiatrist, this work tried to explain how an approaching can be done between both of them: it consisted of pointing out many approaching mistakes contained in the comment literature indicating, at the same time, a dialog that can be established. The issue morals ended emerging as a central theme resultant of the relationship study between Freud s and Schopenhauer s work where a possible dialog between them was established. The dissertation concerns, first of all, about identifying the historical and theoretical relationship between Freud s psychiatry and the philosophy of the will. After that, it was identified how each one of the authors elaborate, according to their code of speech, the base of the morality phenomenon. At last, the work indicates how the respective bases find some connection. The result, besides the contribution for each theory to understand the morals phenomenon, was the identification of crossing points many times responsible for the interpretative mistakes found in the comment literature.Item type:Item, Um estudo do sistema sócio-ecológico pesqueiro da Ponta do Corumbau, BA(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-01) ;Michelin, Camila da Cunha ;Nordi, Nivaldo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8168865557947289https://lattes.cnpq.br/3685973828114463Extractive Reserves are an important form of associating the conservation of the natural environment to the maintenance of the related artisanal culture. Besides, local knowledge and practice on the ecological systems are decisive factors for the conservation of both biological and cultural diversity. Here we studied artisanal fishermen from Ponta do Corumbau community, in Bahia/Brazil which is part of the Corumbau Marine Extractive Reserve , created in 2000, to contribute with the execution/implementation of the Reserve Management Plan. The data were obtained through socioeconomic questionnaires applied to 19 fishermen families in 2004 by the team of the Laboratory of Human Ecology and Ethnoecology (LEHE), of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and in two other field surveys (on February 2005 and April 2006when we carried out free and semi-structured interviews, photographic documentation and direct observation, field diary, participation of occasional meetings and informal talks. In Chapter 1, we characterize the artisanal fishermen and the community, the fishing activity and the elaboration of a genealogical tree showing the kinship relation among individuals. The artisanal fishermen are on average 37 years old; 91,4% are male and 8,6% female; 8,6% use sailing canoe, 74,3% motorized boat and 17,1% don't possess any boat; the residences are made of masonry. The main fishing techniques used are the fishing line, shrimp dragnet (called balão ) and the cassoeiro (a kind of gillnet), where the fishing line is the most common technique used. They sell the fresh fish to a cold storage and to two smokers located in the community. In Chapter 2, we approached some aspects of the fishing culture through a visual ethnography, examples include the types of existent boats, the shrimp processing and commercialization, the small fish processing, which comes from the shrimp drag-net, and the fishing line. In Chapter 3, we tried to understand the local practices of the fishermen community. That indicate their adaptation capacity to the present changes in the social-ecological fishing system. The results were interpreted through theories on resilence, adaptative cycles, local knowledge and common property. The obtained information allowed to identify three phases in the dynamics of the socialecological system studied: explotation, subdivided in a first exploratory phase (phase I), represented by canoe fishing before 1990; a phase when local fishermen notice larger disturbance in the fishing system, represented by shrimp capture using drag-nets (balão fishing), intensified between 1990-2000; a reorganization phase represented by the creation of Extractive Reserve, which occurred between 2000 and 2002, and the current exploratory phase (phase II) represented by the application of the Extractive Reserve Management Plan. Those different phases are characterized by elements that strengthen or weaken the resilience of the studied system, and the better knowledge of their dynamics can be useful for the establishment of the shared resources management.Item type:Item, Corpo, representação e o domínio do real: a constituição do conceito de realidade psíquica em Freud.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-01) ;Zanetti, Clovis Eduardo ;Simanke, Richard Theisen ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5431145327759147https://lattes.cnpq.br/0644356367269269Item type:Item, Melhoria contínua em uma empresa manufatureira de médio porte: desenvolvimento de modelo e sistemática de implementação por meio de pesquisa-ação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-04) ;Simões, Rosicler ;Alliprandini, Dário Henriquehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/2417466929965934The purpose of this proposal was to implement the Continuous Improvement in a medium size manufacturing company, involving from the development up to the implementation stages. A review was conducted on production continuous improvement within different contexts as studied by various authors, including the classics in quality management. Amongst the issues approached to, were presented the aspects of continuous improvement, improvement types, enabling approaches of production continuous improvement, continuous improvement management models, structural aspects of production continuous improvement, skills for continuous improvement and continuous improvement tools. Based on the theoretical research it was possible to develop a reference Model for the Continuous Improvement, as well as establish a systematic for its application. The proposed Model was applied in a medium size manufacturing company, though out Thiollent´s action research twelve phases and according to the systematic steps. At the end of the research the application feasibility of the proposed Model was demonstrated nevertheless, successful results depend entirely on the company administrators´ commitment and eagerness to define the actions plan consistent with the lacoons identified. Lack of leadership to make actions happen was also deemed as a short-coming to overcome.Item type:Item, Efeitos da integração vertical na sustentabilidade dos empreendimentos rurais: o caso da goiaba no estado de São Paulo.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-04) ;Lopes, Luciene de Andrade Bianchi ;Nantes, José Flávio Dinizhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1900976112613026The vertical integration used in to guava production in São Paulo state is presented as a strategy which helps the agricultural producers in the gradual reach of the business sustainability in the economic, social and environmental dimensions. The aim of this work was to study the agricultural enterprises management which are directed to guava production destined to processing in the biggest producing region of São Paulo state, comparing, through the indicators, the verified results in the agricultural enterprises in which the production verticalization was used, to the obtained ones by the producers who produce the raw material and deliver it to the processing. The study method of multiple cases was chosen for the accomplishment of the work empirical part. It was observed that characteristics such as scholarship low level and the familiar labor participation are common to almost all studied producers, being or not own raw material processors. It was also observed that, only the agricultural producers, who process their productions and are considered great, control the guava production costs. It is verified that the value aggregation to the raw material before trading really contributes for the reach of an agricultural business better performance in the economic, social and environmental dimensions. The main advantage for the producers who verticalized their productions is the best remuneration gotten for the raw material, contributing for the permanence in the sector and reducing the dependence of the raw material sales business for the region processors. The local development as a result of the value aggregation is also verified, through more work ranks generation, income distribution and life quality improvement of the involved ones. Amongst the restrictions of the production verticalization the management tools use absence is emphasized, information register and analysis methods, entry difficulty in the markets for the products trading, specially the international ones, and the price competition of the small clandestine processor products. The majority of the producers did not professionalize the management of their businesses mainly for cultural questions which bring from the land succession process, no matter adding or not value to the production. This study shows the necessity of changing the agricultural producer profile and evidences of adding value to his production is a suitable way to reach the sustainability and the sector permanence.Item type:Item, Soluções ondas viajantes da equação Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-05) ;Silva, Eliza Souza da ;Kondo, Cezar Issao ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0900348462714778https://lattes.cnpq.br/6372377747747823The aim in this work is to estudy the existence and certain qualitative properties of travellingwave to the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdVB) equation. The asymptotic behaviour of these waves is analysed when ε ↓ 0, δ ↓ 0 or when both ε,δ ↓ 0, subject to the determined conditions.Item type:Item, Otimização no corte de tubos estruturais: aplicação na indústria aeronáutica agrícola(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-07) ;Abuabara, Alexander ;Morabito Neto, Reinaldohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/7561335002983507The Cutting Stock Problem consists of determining the best form to cut units of material (objects in supply), producing a set of lesser units (demanded item), with specific dimensions, that are ordered through an order wallet. To minimize the loss of material this study described a method of evaluation and optimization of the process planning of the cutting of metallic structural tubes used in the manufacturing of small aircrafts for the agricultural aeronautic industry. In order, to support the decisions in the cutting process it was developed an optimization approach based on mathematical mixed integer programming models. The mathematic models are resolved in GAMS/CPLEX, using the production data of Neiva, an aeronautical company subsidiary of Embraer. The results showed that it is possible obtain significant profits in the production in with the application of mathematical models in the process of cut in the aeronautic industry. Mathematical models have a potential to generate beneficial solutions in the production process reducing the costs of production with the re-use of the leftovers.Item type:Item, Professores como agentes de prevenção do abuso sexual infantil: avaliação de um programa de capacitação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-08) ;Brino, Rachel de Faria ;Williams, Lúcia Cavalcanti de Albuquerque ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6962646759651464https://lattes.cnpq.br/0235133592567485The topic of this study is primary and secondary child sexual abuse (CSA) prevention in the educational area. The study goals involved planning, implementation and assessment of an intervention program in which teachers acted as CSA prevention agents. The first study step was the program planning based on others experiences described in the literature. Secondly, the program was implemented with 101 pre-school teachers in São Carlos, Brazil, 2.918 children (teachers students aged 4-6 years), and 2.732 children s family members. The program was implemented twice, with 52 and 49 teachers in the first and second time, respectively. Each group was divided into three sub-groups in order to receive the intervention. The program involved a theoretical section with teachers and a workshop conducted by teachers with children and family members. The third part involved the program assessment. Indicators of Sexual Abuse (IAS) data was obtained from 101 teachers at three different moments: before to the intervention, in the middle and at the end of the intervention. Teachers Drill on Child Abuse Identification data was obtained before and after the intervention. IAS and Family Members Drill on Child Abuse Identification data was obtained from 101 family members before and after the workshops conducted by teachers. The Drill on Self-Protective Skills Acquisition for Children data was obtained from 96 children before and after workshops conducted by teachers. IAS teachers results showed that they increased their knowledge about CSA specific symptoms. However, no changes in teachers knowledge about CSA nonspecific symptoms were observed. There was an increase in the percentage of appropriate answers from teachers in Teachers Drill on Child Abuse Identification. Family members IAS results showed no changes in their knowledge about CSA specific or non-specific symptoms. After the workshops, there was an increase in the percentage of appropriate answers by family members in Family Members Drill on Child Abuse Identification and children s performance in the Drill on Self-Protective Skills Acquisition for Children. In order to assess the impact of the program in the community, the number of CSA cases notified were identified from 2002 to 2005, in São Carlos. The data obtained showed an increase of CSA cases notified after the program, as well as an increase of reported cases involving young children s victimization. Simultaneously with the program, the teachers received consultation on how to identify CSA suspected cases in their schools. When sexual abuse suspicion was confirmed, the case was reported by teachers. In general, the program s assessment had an important impact in the schools and community as well. The need to plan and assess CSA preventive actions in others sectors of society is discussed.Item type:Item, Nanoestruturas de óxido de cobre obtidas por novo método hidrotermal de microondas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-08) ;Almeida, Dawy Keyson de Araújo ;Varela, José Arana ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1807399214239200https://lattes.cnpq.br/2492888086278572Synthesis and characterization of Copper Oxide nanostructured by means of hydrothermal assisted by microwaves were studied in this work. The thermal treatment device was set up by using a domestic microwave oven and a hydrothermal chamber, specially adapted as a hydrothermal reactor. The obtained nanostructures of CuO have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XDR) to determine its crystallinity; by field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM-FEG) and transmission electron microscopy to characterize the morphology and single crystal nature of nanocrystals formed. The mechanism of nanostructure formed and nanostructure morphology of CuO were studied us a function of processing conditions. For this, the influence of microwave processing, the nature of chemical basis and presence/absence of polyethylene glycol (PEG) as template have been considered during the formation of nanostructured CuO. The chemistry reaction for attaining the nanostructure of CuO was studied using stereochemistry concept and computational quantum chemistry. The results had demonstrated that the formation of copper oxide nanostructure depend on the stereochemistry of the template, on the chemical base for hydrothermal treatment and on the use of microwave heating for hydrothermal synthesis.Item type:Item, Modelos magnéticos com frustração e diluição(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-08) ;Pacobahyba, Josefa Teixeira de Mendonça ;Souza, José Ricardo dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0521315770932665In this work, we investigate the effect of dilution and frustration in the thermodynamic properties and the phase diagrams using the quasi-two-dimensional Heisenberg and Ising models. We use the Zubarev Green´s function formalism and obtain the magnetic properties of the quasi-two-dimensional antiferromagnetic spin ½ Heisenberg model. We determine the limit of the stability of the antiferromagnetic phase as a function of the concentration of the holes in the CuO2 plane and dilution of the Cu by Zn. We simulate the point of maximum of the phase diagram in the plane (T,z) following the experimental data for the La2-xSrxCu1-zZnzO4 compounds. In the Heisenberg model the effect of the frustration is simulated by the parameter λ=λ0(1-x/xc), which measures the interaction between the CuO2 planes. The effect of dilution present in the xy-plane is described theoretically by a small value for z through an effective interaction J(1-z) (mean field approach). We extend the present formalism to include long-range interaction in the antiferromagnetic one-dimensional Heisenberg frustrated model and verify the absence of magnetic order for p>1 (where p is the decay interaction parameter, i.e., Jn=J/np). We also study the thermodynamic properties of the quenched decorated diluted Ising model with competitive interactions, using the differential operator technique with the effective field. The decorated Ising model with competitive interactions used is herein to describe the magnetic properties of the copper-oxide plane containing superconductor compounds in the insulating phase (antiferromagnetic). The model consists of planes in which the nodal spins interact antiferromagnetically (JA<0) with their nearest-neighbors, and ferromagnetically (JF>0) with the quenched spins that decorate the bonds (simulating the Cu-O interaction), and distributed randomly over the two-dimensional lattice. The planes interact antiferromagnetically with weak-exchange interaction (i.e., ). Moreover, in our model some magnetic sites (atoms of Cu) are substituted by non-magnetic sites. We study the thermodynamic properties of the system and the limit of antiferromagnetic stability in the phase diagrams (T,p) and (T,z), for some values of the frustration parameter (α= J ' = λ ,λ = 10−5 A A J J A\JF) and magnetic field. We observe for some values α, the system presents a reentrant behavior in low temperatures, which also is reflected in the thermodynamic properties.Item type:Item, Aspectos da germinação e da conservação de sementes de espécies do gênero Tabebuia (Bignoniaceae)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-08) ;Borba Filho, Aluisio Brigido ;Perez, Sonia Cristina Juliano Gualtieri de Andrade ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9973185407856723https://lattes.cnpq.br/6784147450048477The genus Tabebuia in the family Bignoniaceae comprises about 100 species, several of which have medicinal, ornamental, and timber value, in addition to their environmental importance. These species produce large amounts of seeds, with a short viability period under natural conditions. In the present research, studies were developed on germination and conservation aspects of seeds in species of the genus Tabebuia. Initially, substrates were evaluated to be used in seed germination tests for the species T. aurea (Manso) Benth. & Hook., T. impetiginosa (Mart.) Standl., T. ochracea (Cham.) Standl., T. roseo-alba (Ridl.) Sand., and T. serratifolia (Vahl.) Nich. The following substrates were tested: on sand, on vermiculite, on sand+vermiculite, on paper (two sheets of blotting paper) and between sheets (two sheets of blotting paper under and one sheet over the seeds). For T. impetiginosa seeds, these substrates are suitable for use in germination tests. For the other species, the most suitable substrates were: on sand, on paper, and between sheets for T. aurea; between sheets for T. ochracea and T. roseo-alba; and on sand and between sheets for T. serratifolia. In another study we attempted to identify a suitable condition to store T. roseo-alba and T. impetiginosa seeds, as well as to evaluate methods to estimate alterations in the viability and vigor of those seeds. Different groups of seeds were placed in clear plastic bags, Kraft paper bags, and cans. The seeds were then stored for up to 300 days under laboratory, refrigerator, and refrigerated chamber conditions. Seed water content, germination percentage and velocity, and electric conductivity were determined at the onset of storage and thereafter at every 60 days. The best T. roseo-alba and T. impetiginosa seed conservation condition was obtained with cans maintained in the refrigerator. T. impetiginosa seeds can also be kept in plastic bags, paper bags, or cans when stored in refrigerated chamber. Seed vigor alterations in these species are initially identified based on germination velocity. In the third study, we evaluated accelerated aging effectiveness in detecting vigor variations in T. roseo-alba and T. impetiginosa seeds. Seeds of these species were submitted to accelerated aging under temperatures of 40 or 45ºC, for periods of 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, and 144 hours. After those periods, germination and plantlet emergence tests were conducted, and field emergence index values were calculated. We verified that accelerated aging is effective to detect seed vigor variations in T. roseo-alba and T. impetiginosa. When aging is conducted at 45°C, differences in viability and vigor occur first. Traits such as germination percentage and velocity, plantlet emergence, and incorporated biomass can be recommended as seed vigor indicators, using accelerated aging. Under more drastic accelerated-aging conditions, no correspondence is observed between data obtained in the field and in the laboratory.Item type:Item, Buscando componentes da parceria colaborativa na escola entre família de crianças com deficiência e profissionais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2006-12-11) ;Silva, Aline Maira da ;Mendes, Enicéia Gonçalveshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0119179612439892Professionals responsible for education of children with disabilities not always find the way to make their family a partner. This study aims to identify and describe the behaviors of professionals that work in the school and family members that are propitious and maintainers of the effective and successful collaborative partnership. The study was carried out with four focal groups, composed exclusively either by family members or professionals, once there were two groups of family members (FAM1 and FAM2) and two groups of professionals (PROF1 and PROF2) of different schools. 13 family members and 18 professionals participate in the groups. In order to identify the principal components of this partnership two stages were carried out. In each stage two meetings were performed with each focal group, summing up 16 meetings. In Stage 1 the meetings aimed to identify the components of the collaborative partnership, in the first meeting, and to check the collected information in the range group in the second appointment. In Stage 2 each one of the focal groups was collated with the data obtained in the first stage, once family members were paralleled with the professional data and vice versa. The reactions to the data were registered, and afterwards checked in the second appointment. Through qualitative analysis the expected and desired behaviors of professionals and family members were identified and described to increase the probability of success and effectiveness of a collaborative partnership. The categories raised by the family members groups in relation to themselves were: to communicate with the professionals; to be responsible for the child s education; to keep adequate expectations; to accept the children s disability; to respect professionals. On the other hand, the family members expectations about professionals performance were: to communicate with family members; to communicate with other professionals; to be friendly; to separate personal problems from the professional activity; to promote student s development; to be attentive to family problems and to attempt to resolve them; to help family members keep suitable expectations; to incorporate to work suggestions provided by family members; to worry about the student out of school; to offer groups to parents; to respect students and family members; to offer orientation to family members. In their turn, the groups of professionals pointed the following categories in relation to the behaviors they expected of the families: to communicate with the professionals; to recognize the work of the professionals; to trust the developed work; to be responsible for the child s education; to believe in the child s development; to keep adequate expectations; to question the professionals properly; to certify the child s attendance to school; to visit the school; to take part in the activities. Concerning the performance themselves, the following categories were found: to communicate with family members; to show seriousness; to be sincere; to be impartial; to respect students and family members; to be aware of family members and students features; to motivate the participation of family members; to gather with family members; to show the family members the activities performed; to help family members keep suitable expectations. It is expected that, with the survey and the description of the categories, the professionals responsible for the education of children with disabilities and their family members can find their bearings in the search for the establishment of an effective and successful collaborative partnership.
