listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Sistema de coordenação de ordens de produção baseado na estratégia bata de manufatura(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-15) Bianco, Vinícius Soares Del; Fernandes, Flavio Cesar FariaThis work presents a proposal of implementing an Ordering System based on the Bata Manufacturing Strategy (BMS). The aim is to verify the interference and effectiveness of this system on the activities of the Production Planning and Control of a thermoplastics process factory. Its theory s reference comes from the Bata Manufacturing Strategy (BMS), the Ordering Systems (OS) and the Performance Measurement Systems (PMS). The Action- Research method was used to verify the relation between the ideal model and the one obtained when put on a practical experience. Firstly, a model system is proposed on what this work was developed, its main features and details that connect the BSM, the OS and the PMS. Then, an application example of the system in a thermoplastics process factory is showed using the blow molding process of High Density Polyethylene and Polyvinyl Chloride bottles for cosmetics industries and drugstores. Furthermore, the main results obtained when implementing this system are also presented as well as an evaluation of the procedures created to control the material and human resources and how these controls influence the Production Planning and Control activities of this factory. Another important point of this work is also to present a new approach on how to implement the Bata Manufacturing Strategylistelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Resolução de problemas sociais com adolescentes em conflito com a lei: estratégias de mensuração e intervenção(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-15) Padovani, Ricardo da Costa; Williams, Lúcia Cavalcanti de Albuquerque; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6962646759651464; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5442923292795249Young offenders deficits in problem solving skills are described as one of the characteristics of this population. However, there is no data in the Brazilian literature measuring this variable. This study had two aims. Firstly, a group intervention with young offenders was conducted with the aims of promoting the discrimination and emission of competent social responses associated with their psychosocial well-being (Study 1). Six male young offenders took part of the intervention program. The study was conducted in a young offenders Detention Center in the interior of São Paulo State, Brazil. Instruments used to assess the intervention were: Guided Interview, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS), Social Problem-Solving Inventory-Revised (SPSI-R) and, School Performance Test. The intervention program consisted of three pre-intervention sessions to gather data, and ten intervention sessions in problem-solving skills training, followed by a three month post-intervention follow-up. Results indicated a history of school failure and violence victimization, as well as the use of alcohol and drugs, and involvement in aggressive episodes. High level drop-out rates was observed in this study: only two participants were present in all phases of the intervention. In the pre-test, five participants indicated anxiety and depression, and four participants indicated hopelessness. In the post-test, one participant indicated a decrease of depression, anxiety and hopelessness; the other participant maintained of depression levels (in the low range), anxiety (low) and hopelessness (low). Five participants took part of the Follow- Up. All participants indicated a decrease of depression in that phase. In terms of anxiety, in the participants who were present in all phases, one decreased his level (from severe to low), and the other presented the same performance (low). Other participants indicated: maintenance (low and moderate) or an increase (low to moderate). In terms of hopelessness, among the participants who were present in all phases, the same performance was maintained (absence). The others showed: maintenance (moderate/low) and a decrease (severe/moderate) of performance. The Social Problem- Solving Inventory-Revised data showed that four participants performance were in the average range of the normal group, and two had deficits in this area. In post-test, one participant increased his performance, and the other maintained it. In the Follow-Up, the performance varied from average to much above average. In spite of the study s methodological limitations, this is the first study in Brazil to investigate group social problem solving skills with young offenders in a Detention Center, and the first to utilize one specific instrument to analyze social problem repertory solving in this population. The second study adapted to Portuguese the Social Problem-Solving Inventory-Revised (SPSI-R), and investigated its evidence of criteria and content validity. Seventy six male adolescents took part of study, being 38 offenders and 38 no-offenders. The study was conducted in a Young Offenders Center, and at a public school in the city of São Carlos en São Paulo State. The instrument used to assess the study was the Social Problem- Solving Inventory-Revised (SPSI-R). The instrument was applied in group, and the time of application was approximately 30 minutes. In terms of content validity, the study showed a 95% agreement among assessors. In terms of criteria validity, the results showed that the instrument could discriminate offenders from the non-offender population. The development of intervention programs and instruments specific to this population is much needed, as the numbers of studies in this area is reduced in Brazil.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Construção e formalização do saber em montagem estrutural de aeronaves(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-15) Souza, Túlio Oliveira de; Menegon, Nilton Luiz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5461487552981919; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8523738364469509The aim of this study was to understand the technique construction role as well as the knowledge in consolidation of the aeronautics design and upbringing productive competence. In this way, it identified the representations from different actors over the constraints that acted in the start of the aeronautics production, and turned evident in the strategies adopted by assemblers, and managers facing the constraints. It was done an ergonomic analysis of this work, based on observations, interviews, surveys and confrontation group. The riveter assembler, while realize his work activity provoke a sense motor action and promotes a confrontation of intentions, gesture and results producing news ways of know-how . The new know-how , therefore, seem to comply an absortion cycle by the productive organization which is shaped by the product maturity process. The viability of manufacturability makes itself up to the subject ability to incorporate adjustments or indicates changes. The system stability and aircraft own homologation derives from the technique formation, the meta-functional activity and the incorporation of the assemblers knowledge.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Modelos de regressão logística clássica, Bayesiana e redes neurais para Credit Scoring(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-15) Mendonça, Tiago Silva; Louzada Neto, Francisco; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0994050156415890; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2249769751685645Important advances have been achieved in the granting of credit, however, the problem of identifying good customers for the granting of credit does not provide a definitive solution. Several techniques were presented and are being developed, each presents its characteristics, advantages and disadvantages as to their discrimination power, robustness, ease of implementation and possibility of interpretation. This work presents three techniques for the classification of defaults in models of Credit Score, Classical Logistic Regression, Bayesian Logistic Regression with no prior information and Artificial Neural Networks with a few different architectures. The main objective of the study is to compare the performance of these techniques in the identification of customers default. For this, four metrics were used for comparison of models: predictive capacity, ROC Curve, Statistics of Kolmogorov Smirnov and capacity of hit models. Two data bases were used, an artificial bank and a real bank. The database was constructed artificially based on an article by Breiman that generates the explanatory variables from a multivariate normal distribution and the actual database used is a problem with Credit Score of a financial institution that operates in the retail Brazilian market more than twenty years.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estratégia de marcas no varejo de alimentos: concepção e gestão de marcas próprias na Inglaterra e no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-15) Paula, Verônica Angélica Freitas de; Silva, Andrea Lago da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0116513470932691In the current competitive and dynamic environment, with constant changes concerning consumers' preferences, competitors' actions and also political and economical changes in different countries, marketing strategies are even more relevant as the market has reached a more significant role in the definition of the tendencies and the success or failure of companies. Among the marketing strategies, in this paper, branding strategies deserve more attention as they are also responsible to assure the company sustainable competitive advantage. Considering the retail sector, the brand is also one of the most important concepts in the marketing strategy, mainly because consumers usually make different analysis about the products from their brands, especially about image perception, price, value and quality. The identity of the brand's owner has a significant impact over the impressions consumers may have about this brand. Therefore, the decision about brands patronage is very important for retailers including the choice between offering national brands (that belong to manufacturers) and/or private labels (that belong to the retailers). The focus on this thesis concerns the study of private labels strategy in food retailers in England and in Brazil. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, a qualitative approach and the case study procedure have been used. As the empirical research was developed with different retailers and suppliers in England and in Brazil, the research strategy used was multiple cases study, as multiple experiments (with replication logic). For the interviews, semi-structured scripts were used. The results from the empirical research were presented individually by company and then by country. The results from both countries were analysed in a comparative way. From the comparative analysis, it was possible to identify the distinct characteristics of each country, as well as the factors responsible for the differences in retail and private labels. After the comparative analysis, it was possible to elaborate recommendations to help and guide retailers that are analysing the possibility to adopt private label strategies. A model was developed to summarize the main elements to be considered by food retailers during the decision of adopting private labels. Finally, limitations of the research and suggestions for further researches were presented.
