However the resistant exercises even though more practiced (the working out) still need more scientific explanation, mainly concerning to the obese population. The goal of this research is to determine the effect of the resisted exercise practice in different intensities on the corporeal composition and the physical capability in obese women. Thirty three volunteers of the female gender participated from this research, thirteen of them working out in low intensity (Lower RER group L), fourteen working out in moderate intensity (threshold anaerobic group M) and six that were part of the control group. All the volunteers went through a corporeal composition evaluation, maximum consumption of oxygen, maximum muscular strength, yet increasing test in resistant exercises were taken besides pre and pos working out practice clinic exams. Media descriptive statistics was used and pattern deviation to demonstrate the data and it was opted by the curtose and asymmetry analysis, after the one way Anova variance analysis was performed at every variance and to those which were considered significant as post hoc the Tukey test. It was established for the rejection the hypothesis of nullity (H0) p < 0, 05. There can be observed decrease in the following variances: corporeal weight 7% to group L and 10,5% to group M; BMI of 7,8% to group L and 10,5% to group M; %F 11,8% to group L and 24,1% to group M; FM 19% to group L and 32,3% to group M. Yet, increase was gotten to the following variances: FFM 5,6% to group M; VO2 max. of 51,8% to group L and 63,4% to group M. Regarding to the muscular strength to the superior members there was an improvement of 45,6% to group L and of 68,8% to group M, then to the inferior members there was an improvement of muscular strength of 49,9% to group L and of 68,9% to group M. According to these results it follows that even with the improvements of the corporeal composition, physical capability level and muscular strength to both working out practice intensities, it is important to remind that initiating a physical working out practice mainly to sedentary people it is necessary a postural adaptation to this kind of working out practice, so that lesions won t occur. Thus the lowest intensity is easier to correct the posture in the various working out equipments.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desenvolvimento de blendas poliméricas PVC/NBR através de processamento reativo e vulcanização dinâmica in situ(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-28) Passador, Fabio Roberto; Pessan, Luiz Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8276650236213537; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0152213852695153Dynamic vulcanization is a process of vulcanization of an elastomer during melt mixing with a thermoplastic which results in a material with better chemical and mechanical properties at high temperature. The PVC/NBR blends were obtained by reactive processing and in situ dynamic curing. The crosslinking of PVC/NBR blends was accomplished using sulphur (S)/tetramethylthiuram disulphide (TMTD) and mercaptobenzothiazyl disulphide (MBTS) curative system during the reactive processing. The blends of PVC/NBR at the ratio of 90/10; 80/20 and 70/30 wt% were melt mixed using an internal mixer at 160°C and rotor speed of 60rpm. The degrees of crosslinking of the blends obtained by the reactive process were analyzed through Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR), swelling and degree of cure. Higher crosslink densities were obtained the systems with higher amount of elastomer. The mechanical properties evaluated by tensile properties, tear strength, hardness and compression set showed that the dynamic vulcanized blends have a better performance compared to the similar conventional ones. It was observed an increase of 92% in the tensile stress to the dynamic vulcanized blend PVC/NBR (70/30) with partitioning agent of PVC and an increase of 205% in the Young´s modulus to the dynamic vulcanized blend PVC/NBR (90/10) with partitioning agent of CaCO3. The morphology of the blends examined by scanning electron microscopy evidenced the crosslinking formation only in the elastomeric phase. The vulcanized rubber particles are responsible by the increase of stiffness and consequently displayed better mechanical properties.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação ambiental aplicável a bacias hidrográficas no meio urbano : análise dos métodos Amorim & Cordeiro, Pesmu e Swat(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-28) Junqueira, Cássia de ávila Ribeiro; Silva, Ricardo Siloto da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5346985934880710; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2509932249426122The purpose of this research is to identify, systematize and evaluate three (3) methodologies applied to hydrographic basins and developed for the planning and management of the urban environment related to environmental concerns. The analyzed methods are some of the ones developed at the Federal University in Sao Carlos itself, such as PESMU and AMORIM & CORDEIRO, and a mathematical modeling with SWAT that interfaces with the ARCVIEW software. The research methodology was developed from the differences e similarities as for the used methods that were transformed in analysis criteria. These criteria were selected prioritizing the focus on the conditions that the evaluation method should offer to give support to the manager. For that reason, some characteristics, such as reliability, scientific validity, the standardization and accessibility of data were analyzed, so that, even when applied in different places, with distinct characteristics, there could be a comparison between answers in the different cases. The indicators of the methods were also analyzed to ascertain the range potential of the themes, their interpretability and representativeness. Other factors are also extremely important for managers, like application easiness and the type of cost involved in the analysis. The discussion about the results was carried out based on a critical text listing positive and negative aspects of the evaluated methods, besides a proposition of maintenance, elimination or alteration of the analyzed items, as well as of a systematization of the principal characteristics of each method. Before the performed analysis, the conclusion is that there is not a method that is the best one, but the most appropriate for each particular situation. While the AMORIM & CORDEIRO and PESMU methods have a more global focus for the diagnosis, the SWAT method analyzes the basin physical characteristics more deeply and becomes flexible in the interface with SIG. The three methods are complementary when it comes to that complex environment that is a hydrographic basin, since it contains interrelated physical, biological and social-economic information. The more complex the analysis, the greater the efficacy, but it also increases the cost and the response time, so all the characteristics should always be thought and pondered before the choice of the method or methods to be applied on a specific place. Besides, the existing input data should be checked so that the analyses do not become erroneous or subjective.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Função ventricular esquerda e respostas cardiorrespiratórias após reabilitação cardíaca hospitalar em pacientes submetidos à cirurgia de revascularização do miocárdio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-28) Mendes, Renata Gonçalves; Silva, Audrey Borghi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4855616925791895; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9634590922242052It is well-known that cardiac autonomic and pulmonary function are impaired after coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG). Strategies resulting in beneficial cardiorespiratory responses as soon as possible after surgery are clinically important in these patients. However, information on the differences in cardiorespiratory responses of these patients to inpatient cardiac rehabilitation (CR) with distinct left ventricular (LVF) is still scant. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess the cardiorespiratory responses to a short-term inpatient CR programme in patients with LVF normal and reduced. Twenty three patients were studied and divided into LVF normal group (LVFN, n=12) or reduced group (LVFR, n=11). Cardiac autonomic function was evaluated by heart rate variability (HRV) and the pulmonary function by spirometric and respiratory muscle strength (RMS) at (1) post-operative day 1 (PO1) and (2) day before discharge. Heart rate (HR) and R-R intervals (R-Ri) were recorded by telemetry system Polar S810i, at rest, in supine and sitting position. HRV was evaluated in time domain by mean R-R (mean R-R), square root of the mean squared differences of successive R-Ri (RMSSD) and standard deviation of all R-Ri (SDNN) indexes (ms) The spirometric data of vital capacity (VC), forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) and maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV) were obtained and the RMS was measured indirectly by maximal inspiratory (MIP) and expiratory (MEP) pressures. All patients initiated the CR on PO1 following a programme of progressive steps composed of whole body and breathing exercises previously established until discharge. Results: After inpatient CR, both groups presented improvement of mean R-R (ms) and RMSSD (ms) indexes at rest and beneficial response to postural change with lower RMSSD (ms) index in sitting position. Significant improvement of pulmonary function in both groups was observed to majority spirometric data as FVC, MVV and FEV1 and RMS only presented tend to improvement in response to CR programme Conclusions: These results indicate that patients undergoing CABG with preserved or depressed LVF presented beneficial cardiorespiratory responses to CR after surgery. We also assign slightly more favourable responses on autonomic function in those with depressed LVF without additional risks. Therefore, the inpatient whole CR should be strongly indicates as soon as possible post-CABG even in patients with cardiac dysfunction. The most often used procedure to verify emergence of equivalence relations is the matching to sample (MTS), in which two conditional relations between stimulus pairs are taught. In this procedure the experimenter does not know the baseline stimulus control topographies and the subject answers, although could be similar to those expected, may include different control topographies, being some controlled by selection and others controlled by rejection. One alternative possibility to verify different baseline control relations is the use of special procedures to induce and identify these relations, like the blank comparison procedure. In this procedure, a black square is introduced on the baseline conditional discrimination trials to block the stimulus for the subject. The present study used the blank comparison procedure with seven normally developing children with school failure history, to separated verify the selection and rejection topographies and the differences in the emergence of equivalence relations. Different arbitrary visual stimulus sets were used in each training: conditional discriminations with both selection and rejection topographies, conditional discriminations only with rejection topographies in the BC relations, and conditional discriminations only with selection topographies in the BC relations. The blank comparison procedure was used to generate these controls on the baseline conditional discriminations. All participants met high percents of correct answers after the training with both control topographies and demonstrating equivalence, although some children needed other procedures to remediate fails in the training. After the trainings with only rejection or selection control in the BC relations, no children obtain a positive equivalence test outcome, pointing that guarantee of both rejection and selection control topographies could minor the emergent relations test outcomes variability in the matching to sample procedures.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação da recuperação da cartilagem articular do tornozelo de ratos após aplicação de um protocolo de alongamento cíclico da musculatura posterior da perna após imobilização(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-28) Dias, Carolina Náglio Kalil; Rosa, Stela Márcia Mattiello Gonçalves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1406279816228350; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5146687793392138Objective: To evaluate the recovery of ankle articular cartilage of rats after applying unilateral cyclic passive muscle stretching protocol in previously hindlimb immobilization. Methods: fourty Wistar rats were divided in seven groups: C- control; I- immobilized ; RI- seven weeks recovery after immobilization; S- Stretched; RS- seven weeks recovery after stretch; IS- immobilized and stretched; ISR- immobilized-stretched and seven weeks recovery. The left ankle joint from the groups I, RI, IS and ISR were immobilized for 4 week. In the muscle stretching protocol the left ankle joint was mantained manually full dorsal flexed, 10 times for 60s with a 30s rest between each stretch, seven days a week for three weeks, to stretch the ankle plantar flexors muscle of groups IS, S, ISR and SR. The right ankle joint were free to move. After this intervention period, the rats of RI, RS, ISR groups was free to move for recovery during seven weeks. At the end of experiment, the animals were sacrified and the ankles were removed, decalcified and processed in paraffin, and stainded with Hematoxilin-Eosin. Two blinded observers evaluated morphologic changes by Mankin score. A morphometric study was carried out using a hand count of chondrocytes cells and cartilage thickness measuraments. Results: No changes in all thickness was found. The C group had the calcified cartilage bigger than the other groups. The IS group had in your treated limb more cells and clonings than the IR group, and in the non-treated more cell and clonings than the C, RI and SR groups. Conclusions: The muscle stretching after immobilization increases the number of chondrocytes and the presence of cloning, and when free movement is allowed during the recovery period from immobilization, the chondrocyte characteristics tend to return to those present before immobilization, suggesting better cellular recoverylistelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Aplicação e avaliação de um programa de orientação para professores de alunos surdos incluídos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2008-02-28) Boscolo, Cibele Cristina; Costa, Maria da Piedade Resende da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1237064917258915Currently the Federal Constitution guarantees to everyone to access to school, and then, people with deficiency have the same rights and freedoms than the others. We know that some types of deficiencies exist, however the work in question only approached the deaf people who are in common classroom. This work has been started as general objective to verify the benefits of a program of intervention achieved through with the professors. As specific objective the work tried to analyze school difficulties told by the professors of deaf student in relation to the education of them; to achiev through intervention according to analyses achieved through with the professors to analyze the academic performance of deaf student who belong to the regular classrooms of basic education; to compare the previous analyses with the posterior analyses to the intervention with the professors. For the accomplishment of this study 4 deaf students had been evaluated, of both sexes, carriers of neurossensorial hearind loss who were attending the basic school in regular classrooms of 1st - 4th grades of Municipal Schools, and their respective multipurpose professors. The research was achieved through the techniques of filming, cursivo register, together with a protocol for academic test, behavior and attention of the student, and analysis of the school bulletin. The intervention with professors was achieved through by orientation sessions that had approached subjects that bring doubts in relation to the education of deaf people. After the interventions, the professors and students had been tested again. As conclusion, one observed an improvement in the school performance and socialization of deaf student inrelation to intervention achieved with the professors; this leads to a reflection that the intervention with professors acts directly in deaf student . Programs of intervention must be achieved order to guarantee a better performance of the deaf student, as well as in adjusted socialization to him.
