Item type:Item, Estudo comparativo da inicialização e finalização da marcha: do bebê ao adulto(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-14) ;Nora, Fernanda Grazielle da Silva Azevedo ;Costa, Paula Hentschel Lobo da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9083349298690934https://lattes.cnpq.br/8031963003997806The gait initiation is set to transition from standing posture to the first step to reversing cyclical, and involves a motor program mediated by adjustments preparations necessary to propel the body forward (MELOUIN ET AL, 2000). Studies that approach the initialization mostly in the adult population have aimed to understand the limitations in postural disorders, aging and what little is in the child population also has a focus on disease and how this process occurs not because of the development of walking independent. This study aimed to describe how the gait initiation process occurs and how it changes as occurs the development of independent walking. We evaluated 29 subjects into three groups: G1 (15 months - 10 subjects), G2 (3 years - 9 subjects) and GA (Adult - 10 subjects). The variables were analyzed: amplitude of oscillation of the center of force toward the average side (COFML) and anterior posterior (COFAP) and average speed and VELAP VELML. The nonparametric Kruskal Wallis test was used to detect differences between groups; the significance level was p ≤ 0.05%. Results of gait initiation: COFAP (cm) there was no statistically significant differences between groups. However, both groups showed significant differences in the COFML behavior (7.79cm = G1, G3 = 7.46cm, GA = 3.25cm, p = 0.01). Furthermore the variable VELAP (cm / s), showed no statistically significant difference between groups, as well as the variable VLML. Results of gait termination: variables results COFAP (G1 = 11.15 cm, G3 = GA = 8.69 cm and 5.17 cm) and COFML (G1 = 7.83 cm, G3 = 8 cm and 4.86 cm = GA) showed no statistically significant differences when purchased between the three groups proposed both as a platform to platform 2. VELAP (G1 = 4.13 cm / s, G3 = 3.16 cm / GA = 3.26 cm / s) and VELML (G1 = 9.74 cm / s, G3 = 5.72 cm / s and GA = 2, 49 cm / s) were not statistically different during the completion of the gait termination, the results indicated the importance that the strength center behavior and the ability to deal with the gravitational field during the gait initiation and how this process changes with the experience of walking independently.Item type:Item, Efeitos dos recursos de baixa tecnologia assistiva nas atividades lúdicas para crianças com paralisia cerebral na educação infantil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-17) ;Zuttin, Fabiana da Silva ;Martinez, Claudia Maria Simõeshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5859720571706844Playing is considered a natural and basic process for the development of some abilities in infancy. However, children with physical deficiency, such as children with cerebral palsy, for presenting a disorder on the muscular tonus and on the posture, may have difficulties in carrying through this playful experience in many contexts, especially in school environment. In the current time, for many of these children, it is possible to create a facilitator environment of this process of playing through the use of resources of assistive technology. In this perspective, the present study had the objective to elaborate and implement individualized programs of intervention based on playful activities, coming from the knowledge of the Occupational Therapy and to evaluate its effect. The related individualized programs had been supported in resources of low assistive technology for the participation of children with cerebral palsy in the school context of the kindergarten. Three children with the diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, of the spastic type, enrolled in a private regular education of the kindergarten, in a medium size city of Sao Paulo state and its respective professors, participated in this study. The instruments used for the collection of data were: a script of interview for the professors on the participation of its pupils in the playful activities in Kindergarten (REPPAAL-EI) and the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) used as indirect measurement. Both were applied for the professors and the Protocol of the Playful Model, as direct measurement in order to observe the child with cerebral palsy in the playful activities of the kindergarten. The results demonstrated that the intervention program promoted improvement in the performance of the children in relation of the participation on the playful activities in the school context, corroborating with the objective of the current research. Moreover, it promoted benefits that made it easier the process of inclusion of these children in school environments.Item type:Item, Avaliação da aprendizagem no ensino superior na área de saúde: unidade de produção de sentidos sob a perspectiva histórico-cultural(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-17) ;Cavalcante, Leila Pacheco Ferreira ;Mello, Maria Aparecida ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8338726751746542https://lattes.cnpq.br/7862016301902937The current research has the assessment in Health graduation teaching within a Higher Teaching Institution as its object of study. It is a qualitative investigation aiming at identifying and analyzing the discourses and the meanings of the learning assessment produced among the professors and students from the Nursing and Medicine graduation course. Such object of study assumes a specific dimension in the Historical-Cultural referent, focusing on Leontiev‟s proposed Activity Theory, as it conceives the relation among assessment, teaching and learning as a unit of producing meanings, when professors and students are formed and transformed into combined activity. Students and professors from both courses were the subjects of such investigation. The data were obtained through interviews, application of the focal groups‟ technique and the documental analysis of the Political-Pedagogical Plans. The analyzed statements reveal assessment conceptions that carry different epistemologies and some contradictions between the discourse and the praxis. Among them, there are the ones who see it as coercion and control tools, and others who direct it as an essential strategy to teaching quality, thus recognizing that the social conditions are determinant in producing knowledge. In spite of the fact that it is conceived as a process, most professors are concerned in providing answers to the academic system. Most of them accomplish it through a conservative perspective, placing the formation process as something of individual responsibility, when it should be understood as a collective activity mediated by the subjects who make part of the teaching activity. There is the prevalence of considering assessment as an activity aimed at providing marks that stand as passing signs so that students are allowed to carry on within the course. Therefore, the assessment carried out by the professors follows towards a direction that is opposite to the students‟ conception, because the latter are concerned about learning whereas the former ones prioritize the capacity of answering questions about the syllabus. The subjects qualify assessment as a necessary tool in teaching planning, in guiding the pedagogical management and in the institutional development, although they are still not able to make it an appropriate tool so as to diagnose the teaching deficiencies and their implications in learning. Thus, they question the pertinence of the assessment they carry out and the tools they have in order to identify whether the student has learned or not. They attribute the insufficient formation for the teaching carreer as the cause for the vague knowledge they have about this situation, as well as the defficiency of the ability to deal with assessment in an appropriate way and they confirm the lack of objective working conditions that provide them such learning in an equivalent proportion to the specificities of the area in which they work. The professors state various reasons so as to explain the need of assessing. Some of them are related to the mechanisms of management and the structure of the very working process and, consequently, the objective conditions that mediate their accomplishment. It can be highlighted among them: the need of meeting the expectations of the academic system; introducing qualified professionals within the working market; forcing students to study hard; conferring marks and providing with information about the professors‟ work; stimulating students to study and correct mistakes identified in the learning process; promoting learners‟ autonomy and raising their will to learn, the feeling of pertaining to and the responsibility for the choice they have made. It seems to us that the role of assessment is not still very clear for the professors, as its focus is aimed at the formal scheme in order to fulfill the bureaucratic requirements of the academic system, which stands as the manager of the teaching activities and, therefore, it is the prevalent sense of assessment within the Health graduation teaching.Item type:Item, Contribuição ao projeto e execução de lajes lisas nervuradas pré-fabricadas com vigotas treliçadas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-18) ;Avilla Junior, Jovair ;Figueiredo Filho, Jasson Rodrigues dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0732866094426766The big surge in use of systems for flat slabs gave up the search for freedom in the definition and organization of architectural interior spaces in buildings. The design and construction of buildings on flat slabs, which allow great mobility in defining the internal space of the building and reducing its height. The slabs with prefabricated trussed beams using forms lost in blocks of expanded polystyrene (EPS) or removable forms, brought new perspectives to the design of flat slabs, allowing greater spans with low deadweight. The precast elements are lightweight, easy handling, transport and assembly, and require the use of molds and special equipment and requires little bracing. Computer programs have emerged in recent years provide more refined calculations that predict the behavior of the structure in service with greater precision. This way the designers have increased security in systems design less common as flat slabs ribbed, without internal beams, capitals and even edge beams. In Brazil the predominant culture in the design and implementation of flat slabs is given by the system option molded on site. The objectives of this study are: to seek answers to the prevailing cultural behavior, and to compare their advantages and disadvantages when compared with cast on site, presenting the normative regulations and simplified calculation method according to ABNT NBR 6118:2003, provide subsidies for the project and implementation of flat slabs with ribbed prefabricated trussed beams, provide a calculation method for the infinitely rigid diaphragm; present a real case study as a comparison of costs.Item type:Item, Uma arquitetura de comunicação oportunística(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-18) ;Moschetto, Danilo Augusto ;Guardia, Hélio Crestana ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1780902767520967https://lattes.cnpq.br/0234923460537082Mobile computing devices often present high processing power and include several wireless network interfaces. 4G networks promise to provide a unified IP based infrastructure with QoS and security support for the communications using such devices. Transmission delays, and network disruptions, however, are often common when considering the current transmissions of mobile users. This work presents a software communications architecture which is tolerant to transmission delays and intermittent connectivity by exploring a hop-by-hop forwarding mode in DTNs. The proposed architecture is organized as a set of functional layers, which allow the use of different forwarding policies and network technologies. By providing the forwarding of objects, named bundles, an unlimited number of high level communication applications can be implemented on top of the architecture. Security aspects concerning the proper identification of users and transmission bundles, as well as the confidentiality and authentication of the received information are considered in the project of the developed architecture. Log keeping of the bundle forwarding activities performed by the architecture, including the interactions among users and the data passing operations, may be further investigated for use in different context aware forwarding and social organization algorithms. A partial implementation of the developed architecture was made and the results demonstrate the viability of its operation.Item type:Item, Relação entre inteligibilidade de fala e habilidades sociais de comunicação em crianças com desvio fonológico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-19) ;Carlino, Fabiana Cristina ;Del Prette, Almir ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2191226494887247https://lattes.cnpq.br/0708927614828521The language is considered the first form of socialization of the child, but during the natural process of language acquisition is possible that some children experience difficulties and may have what are called language disorders, which may impact both on the psychological development and social conditions. Among several problems, the most common are: shyness, social isolation, academic difficulties, and may also suffer prejudice by their peers and even genuinely experience school failure. Thus, the purpose of this study is the purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the degree of speech intelligibility and social skills of communication in children diagnosed with phonological disorder. Participated in the study, 10 children between 6 and 8 years of both sexes, their mothers and their teachers. Initially, the mothers responded to the instrument SSRS-BR (System of Evaluation of Social Skills - M version), which aims to measure the frequency with which the child has certain social skills and Brazil Criterion to categorize the economic level of agreement with the power purchasing family. Then the teachers responded to the instrument (SSRS-BR - W version) with the same goal of SSRS-BR applied to mothers. Finally, children were assessed using the instrument ABFW, in order to analyze the severity of phonological disorder, and the calculation was based on the percentage of consonants correct (PCC) and assessment of the Speech Intelligibility was characterized According to the settings: Low, Regulation and Good. Finally, children were shot in three situations structured interaction with the purpose of observing the behavior in social skills of communication. The recordings were analyzed by two trained judges based on the presence or absence of certain behavior. Each film obtained for 10 minutes, totaling 30 minutes. The data were organized in the database of SPSS 17.0 for Windows and analyzed with respect to the overall score of each factor and measures. In general the mothers rated their children with a level of social skills among middle and high, showing little or no difficulty related to social skills. While the teachers rated the participants with a level of social skills among middle and bottom. In addition to classifying them as behavioral problems of medium and high. It was possible to observe a similarity between the participants in relation to the higher level of internalizing problems (such as depression and anxiety. This study can conclude a positive statistical relationship between the GIF and HSC of children with phonological disorders. Thus, in future studies, it is suggested to include other language disorders, with the primary goal of inferring social skills deficits in communication, because that way you can make interventions that allow both the reduction and overcoming difficulties in the social .Item type:Item, Aplicação de modelagem de processos de negócios na determinação de direcionadores de custo de mão-de-obra em um sistema de produção e colheita de cana-de-açúcar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-19) ;Costa, Eugênio PacceliPolitano, Paulo RogérioSugar industries usually deal with several problems in their operations mainly due to the seasonal nature of their production. Furthermore, they also face many administrative difficulties, particularly in issues surrounding labor and manpower hiring. Such occupations require a broad range of abilities, including manual labor jobs and jobs which require skilled technician duties. These factors associated to the stable nature of the sugar cane culture cause huge complications in its cost accounting. The purpose of this work is to examine the use of action research methodology as well as methods and techniques of business processes modeling to identify manpower cost drivers and to support a system development for distribution and allocation automation of these costs within the accounting.Item type:Item, Programa de Mentoria da UFSCar e desenvolvimento profissional de três professoras iniciantes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-19) ;Migliorança, Fernanda ;Tancredi, Regina Maria Simões Puccinellihttps://lattes.cnpq.br/9218253421106800The objective of this research is to analyze the learning of three beginner teachers during the participation in the Mentorship Program of UFSCar's Portal Teachers. This program was designed to understand and implement processes for professional develop- ment of teachers by through the online interaction between beginner teachers - up to 5 years of career - who teach in grades of elementary school and experienced and successful teachers (the mentors). The theoretical references involve the beginning of the teaching profession; the dilemmas faced by novices, professional development in teaching, with the expectation that teacher training is incessant and that there are di®erent sources of learning how to teach, to build a solid knowledge base and to assist them in their decision-making as a teacher, the career stages, speci¯cally, studies on the period of em- ployability, the di±culties and the initial learning; mentoring opportunities and support for beginners, favoring the presence and professional development and distance learning as a tool for training of mentors and beginning teachers. The research undertaken was qualitative, with descriptive and analytical speci¯city. Data were collected in the area of mentor and novice relationship at the Mentorship Program environment, organized in three case studies. The results point to many dilemmas, di±culties and anxiety present during the teaching initiation. Beginning teachers are insecure about their performance, they can not easy cope with the practice challenges and school rules required, they need to be supported by someone more experienced and successful.Item type:Item, O colega tutor de alunos com deficiência visual nas aulas de Educação Física(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-19) ;Orlando, Patricia D'Azeredo ;Denari, Fátima Elisabeth ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5575213011914394https://lattes.cnpq.br/8333195434091968The proposal for an education that offers opportunities and value individual differences, is clearly the diverse learning for students in all areas of knowledge, is also the Physical Education, by its characteristics are to present favorable conditions for the inclusion : its contents have a degree of determination with flexibility, the physical education teacher has the freedom to organize the content they believe is appropriate to the experience of students, the novelty is a feature highly favorable to increase activities, among others. Currently, the results of studies have pointed to a relationship of professional work in the area related to the presence of students with special needs and disabilities, in classes of common education. Can be observed that the physical education teacher, considering their training, often can not perform adequately with these students. In this confrontation, we need new teaching strategies, among which, the employment of a teaching colleague of the Tutor (Peer Tutor). The strategy of using peer tutors is a model in which non-disabled peers the same age or older, support for a colleague with disabilities in the classroom, including in physical education. Based on these understandings and outcomes, this study aimed to evaluate and implement the Strategy Teaching Colleague Tutor (eecTe) for students with visual impairments in physical education classes. The study 05 students participated in the 7th. Grade of elementary school, in public without disabilities, acting as tutors. He picked up this series because it studies the two students with visual impairments, also participants, participants were also one (01) physical education teacher in state schools that had students with disabilities included in their classes and researcher in question. To collect the data were used team-ments in the electronic media, computer, full, training program Buddy Tutor, and a System for Observation Time Fitness Instruction - System for Observing Fitness Instruction Time, SOFIT. The Colleague Tutor trained participated along with the the student with disabilities to 4 classes for observations of the behavior of teaching fellow tutor. The data analyzed show that there was an application by fellow guardians of the instructions given in training for tutors and colleagues that led to an improvement in the participation of students with visual impairments in physical education classes. It is understood also that tutors can contribute in the dedicated help of other students in the common room or physical education classes while they were students with and without disabilities, if given the correct instructions on how to help.Item type:Item, H-PMI : uma Arquitetura de Gerenciamentos de Privilégios para Sistemas de Informação da Área de Saúde(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-19) ;Custódio, Igor Vitório ;Guardia, Hélio Crestana ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1780902767520967https://lattes.cnpq.br/0702273964774091The use of Information Systems in health environments, like the substitution of paper versions of medical records by electronics ones, has improved patient assistance and allowed such information to be available in a more accessible way. Along with this technology, however, there are significant issues raised by the patients about the access control over their confidential data, which becomes more available and could be accessed by unauthorized people. It is in this scenario that Health - Privilege Management Infrastructure, or H-PMI, is presented in this work. It aims to provide a software architecture for privilege management in health environments. H-PMI aims to be adherent to the Brazilian laws and rules related to the access to electronic medical records, like the ones defined in Manual de Certificação de Sistemas da Área de Saúde by Conselho Federal de Medicina and Sociedade Brasileira de Informática em Saúde. The main objective of this work is to specify the envisioned H-PMI, so it can provide restricted access to electronic medical records in accordance with the appropriate law and recommendations security guarantees, allowing trusted access to sensitive data while allowing circumstantial access to these data in exceptional situations. In order to evaluate the applicability of the proposed H-PMI architecture we have developed the Web H-PMI, which is integrated with the Google Health platform. The obtained results show that the developed architecture can be applied in existing health environments.Item type:Item, Crítica e sujeito na fenomenologia da percepção de Merleau-Ponty(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-19) ;Lagôas, Juliano Moreira ;Pinto, Débora Cristina Morato ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1311151012002541https://lattes.cnpq.br/5987952279333424The ways by which the modern thought - namely that belonging to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries - intervenes in the construction of Merleau-Ponty's philosophy, not only illustrates the importance that the french philosopher gives to the theme of history of philosophy, as they are also signatories of the double effort that animates his project: scrutinize the present using the legacy left by the past and to see indistinctly, through the slits and fissures in buildings erected within the modern philosophy, the future tasks of the thought, the challenges with which the philosophical reason will need reckoning. This dissertation aims to make explicit the ways through which this double effort are present in Merleau-Ponty's work, particularly in his doctorate thesis, titled Phenomenology of perception. Our intention is to examine the statute of the critic towards modern reason in a structural problem which, as we will try to show, is a example of the relation between Merleau-Ponty's project and philosophical modernity: the problem of subjectivity. Our hypotheses is that the criticism to modern reason, found in Merleau-Ponty's book - conducts to the acknowledge of the inalienable presence of the world in the horizon of philosophical reason and to the consequent definition of the phenomenon of the perception as a pre-reflexive adhesion of the subject to the world, as a original opening to being - permits Merleau-Ponty to put back the problem of subjectivity in new basis, not anymore those provided by the cartesian paradigm of substantiality, but those that start from experience of the body, from language and from aesthetic expressionItem type:Item, Indústria cultural, semiformação e as metamorfoses no conceito de infância(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-19) ;Motta, Gabriela Massuia ;Zuin, Antônio Álvaro Soares ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5543562307373287https://lattes.cnpq.br/3354654869317770The present work, based on concept of Hallbildung, brought as Critic Theory, it analyze the change of the concept of childhood post modern, it trying understand the condition caused the your supposed disappear, and more that this, it trying found the caused this change of the present society subjugate to Cultural Industry. The pertinence of the interrogation is found in a both moral and political problem: the inability of those who lived under a totalitarian regime such as the Nazi to tell right from wrong. Human capacity to commit indignities and cruelties against other human beings, characteristic of the Nazi society, is the background from which the issue under study arose. Arendt s response derives from her perception of the absence of thinking, understood as a silent dialogue between me and myself and, consequently, be able to judge right from wrong, individually taking responsibility for the surrounding world one is an integral part of. It was clear to her that she should address the debate on morality. Thus, the investigation of contemplative activities and their relation with the sphere of action becomes imperious. The challenge Arendt proposes is to think of a morality that preserves individuality, both respecting it and connecting to the sphere of human action, in the attempt to come to terms with the perplexities the contemporary world had imprinted on her. It is in this sense that the term political morality is used, namely, that the subject thinks individually but the result of his thinking appears in the public sphere in the form of his judgment at the moment the citizen acts based on his own choices and not guided by any absolute and abstract principles and laws. Thus the individual would judge the question of right and wrong without reference to previously given absolute universals but the others: those who one wants to live with. Judging is connected to worldliness once the individual shows the world his opinions, thus constituting a singularity in the public space. The capacity of judging renders dignity to human beings as they can take part in such public space as singular beings: subjects. The human being is an agent, born to begin, free to begin, because he can choose. This beginning of something new is initiated in the realms of interiority, but only gains meaning and is actualized in the public realm together with many other I s. Therefore, the activities of the mind need appear and act in concert.Item type:Item, A trajetória do anti-humanismo pragmatista na educação brasileira: os programas de ensino no estado de São Paulo e nos municípios de São Bernardo do Campo e Diadema (1940-2008)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-22) ;Sartório, Lúcia Aparecida Valadares ;Silva Junior, João dos Reishttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0065490535281260This thesis was developed with the objective of elucidating the factors that has caused the low academic performance in public schools. To make possible this achievement of this job was used to reconstruct the history of education with reference to public school in the municipalities of São Bernardo do Campo, Diadema and São Paulo state; dedicated special attention to curriculum and teaching program between 1930 and 2008. Analyzing the primary and secondary sources, was identified and marked the influence of two meaningful theoretical perspectives on the composition of the curriculum: one the one hand the traditional teaching influenced by many currents of humanism, and others, the New School, influenced pragmatism, more recently the ideas of the New School was revived by constructivism. To be properly exposed the results of this research and analysis developed the thesis has been separated into five chapters that is concerned with the exhibition of historical facts and analysis the documents founded relative to the current model of education and education policy accomplish between the decade of 1930 and 1990, and to expose the theoretical analysis for the ideal that guided reforms in educational policy in the period portrayed analysis of philosophical principles of pragmatism and constructivism and the facility of taking a critical parameter as the basis of humanism and purpose of new positivism. In conclusion it was emphasized the predominance of pragmatist ideal in education policy under slopingly the pedagogy sphere and reflect professional development in prejudice of scientific, cultural and humanistic development, as a cause of low quality of education.Item type:Item, Genes candidatos para características de produção de carne em famílias de referência da raça Nelore(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-22) ;Tizioto, Polyana Cristine ;Regitano, Luciana Correia de Almeidahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4754030540306395To remain competitive in the market of meat production, it is crucial that the Brazilian producer is aware of the criteria used by consumers for local and international markets. One factor that determines the beef quality is genetics, so it is necessary to conduct studies in Brazil to understand the genetic variation of carcass and meat quality traits in order to outline plans to improve such attributes. Backfat thickness (BFT) and ribeye area (RAE) are characteristics of late measurements, so the investigation of molecular markers associated with these characteristics can help in their inclusion in breeding programs. In cattle, some polymorphisms have been related to characteristics of meat production. Thus, this work aimed to assess the presence of polymorphisms in candidate genes PPARGC1A (peroxisome proliferative active recptor gamma coactivator 1A), FABP4 (fatty acid binding protein 4), DDEF1 (development and differentiation enhancing factor 1), Leptin, PSMC1 (proteasome 26S subunit, ATPase, 1) and IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factors) and associate them with production traits in reference families of Nellore breed. We used 280 steers descendants of 20 sires, that were chosen to represent the variability in Nellore. The sires were genotyped for all markers to investigate their allelic distribution within the race. The SNPs of the leptin and PSMC1 genes showed no variability in the bulls, so these were not genotyped in the progeny. The other markers were genotyped for the whole population. The investigation of the effects of markers on the characteristics was performed using a mixed model, including fixed and random effects, using the restricted maximum likelihood method. There was a significant association (P<0,05) between FABP4 and BFT and a suggestive association (P<0,10) between fat gain in the feedlot and these marker. Significant association was found between RAE, weaning weight (WW) and yearling weight (YW) and the DDEF1 gene and a suggestive association between the IGF-1 gene and YW in this sample of Nellore cattle.Item type:Item, Implantação da gestão da qualidade em uma pequena empresa de base tecnológica por meio de pesquisa-ação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-22) ;Gonçalves, Marcos Pereira ;Martins, Manoel Fernando ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3921504261628850https://lattes.cnpq.br/8461920873169242Quality management is showing as one of the main strategies for organizations competitiveness capacity increase, mainly in a dynamic market environment point by a hard competition between products and services suppliers. The quality management relevance did result in a diffusion of concepts, techniques, standards and models aimed to orient such systems implementation, as the ISO 9001 - 2000 reference model each has been widely adopted by organizations. However quality management system implementation is a challenger task where the success depends on a consistent managing effort and a priority strategy aligned to the specific features of each organization. The technology based enterprises has specific features that indicates the ability to absorb new knowledge and priority for technology strategy associated to the new products and process development. This research presents the quality management implementation process in a technology based company, approaching the planning and the more relevant actions in the context of those typical company features, specially the product development process, the performance measurement system, and continuous improvement systems. The action research methodology has been adopted as it is a participative method that enables to achieve the practical objectives, quality management implementation, and the knowledge objectives about the action development. The implementation process observation unveils the main difficulties and solutions founded in order to attend the company demands. As a contribution, the observation analysis in the context of the theoretical background enables to build a correlation between those company features and the quality management system implementation needs, in a way to consolidate a proposal for a specific conceptual perspective for quality management system for other similar companies. As a practical result, the quality management system implementation brought effective gains in productivity measured by the main company performance indicators.Item type:Item, Variação anual da diversidade e produção secundária de Rotifera do reservatório da UHE de Furnas-MG, Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-22) ;Negreiros, Natalia Felix ;Rocha, Odete ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7577441794992601https://lattes.cnpq.br/3086420642087602The UHE-Furnas is a reservoir built in 1963 for hydroelectricity generation, but also exploited for multiple purposes. In the last decades it has been subject to continuous antropic impacts as the discharges of domestic and industrial non-treated effluents and the agricultural runoff, thus undergoing progressive nutrient enrichment. Rotifera is an important component group of the zooplankton community, playing relevant role in the transfer of energy and matter in freshwater food chains. Studies on their diversity and productivity can contribute to the understanding of the reservoir as a whole and contribute for the conservation of aquatic biota. The objective of this work was to analyze the spatial seasonal changes of Rotifera species composition, diversity and production, verifying its relationships with the abiotic factors. Rotifera assemblages were sampled monthly in four localities and six points at the Sapucaí compartment of Furnas Reservoir, including four points in the limnetic and two in the littoral region, during the period between August 2006 and July 2007. The main physical and chemical variables were measured in situ and samples were taken for nutrients and chlorophyll a quantification. The Sapucaí compartment had low nutrient concentrations characterizing an oligotrophic system. The Rotifera assemblage was composed by 51 taxa of common occurrence in tropical regions. The highest species richness and population equitability were recorded in the dry period, but there were no significant changes in assemblages composition among sites. Mean production was 31.79 μg PS. m-3.day-1 in the rainy season and 14.27 μgPS. m-3.day-1. The species that contributed most to the production were Conochilus unicornis and Trichocerca chattoni, in the rainy season and C. unicornis, Plationus patulus and Collotheca sp in the dry period. The highest values were recorded in spring-summer seasons, realted to the increases on phytoplankton biomass. The mean P:B ratio was 0.51 corresponding to a turnover time of 1.96 days. Production values obtained for Rotifera were in the range of values reported in the literature for this group, in other oligotrophic reservoirs. Despite its small sizes and biomass when compared to other zooplankton groups, Rotifera assemblages had high biomass turnover rates thus playing important role in nutrient cycling and energy transfer in UHE-Furnas Reservoir.Item type:Item, Estudo da geração de nanopartículas a partir da atomização de soluções de cloreto de sódio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-22) ;Amaral, Clarice Dias do ;Coury, José Renatohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5612247812337113Particles of nanometric dimensions are subjected, in recent years, to extensive research all over the world, not only for the possible risks that they cause when inhaled, but also for the wide range of applications and improvements obtained with their employment. An interesting and economical form of generating these particles in the nanometric scale is through the atomization of a salt solution. With the atomization of the solution, a cloud of drops is generated, which is subsequently evaporated by heat exchange with the surrounding gas. The salt nanoparticles are then incorporate in the flowing gas, forming an aerosol. In this method, the size of the particles can be controlled by changing the concentration of the atomized solution. The present work had as objective the study of this generation mechanism. This study was made through the investigation of the size distributions of drops and particles at different salt concentrations. The nanoparticles were generated through the atomization of solutions of sodium chloride that were characterized regarding their density, viscosity and surface tension. In the atomization process two different atomizers were utilized. They were made of different material and geometry, but both were twin-fluid (gas-liquid) atomizers. One of the atomizers was built in the at DEQ-UFSCar and the other was a commercial inhalator named NS. The measurements of drop size distribution were made using the equipment Malvern Spraytec. The distribution of sizes and concentration of the particles were obtained through the electrical mobility particle analyzer SMPS, from TSI, where the sampling was made directly from the aerosol. The results showed that the increase in the concentration of the saline solution resulted in an increase of the particles median diameter. Also, an increment in the number of particles was observed with the increase in the saline solution concentration. The drop size distribution was associated to the physical properties of each solution and they did not show considerable variations as the solution of NaCl became more concentrated. These results discard the possibility that the number of particles increases due to an increment in the number of drops with salt concentration, since their size was virtually the same in all tests performed. The increase in the total number of nanoparticles is probably due to the drying mechanism of the drops. It was evidenced that a single drop generates more than a particle and that tendency increases with the concentration of the saline solution, tending asymptotically to a constant value. An empiric expression correlating the number of particles generated to the saline concentration of the atomized solution it is proposed and it represents well the experimental data.Item type:Item, Modulação autonômica da frequência cardíaca e treino de força excêntrica no processo de envelhecimento(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-22) ;Takahashi, Anielle Cristhine de Medeiros ;Catai, Aparecida Mariahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/8336705133403404The aging process is marked by several physiological changes, and the reduction in muscle strength is very important one. In order to minimize this force decline there are recommendations for using resistance training for elderly persons. Some studies available in the literature state that the eccentric contraction would be more suitable for the elderly, since it generates less cardiovascular overload during the exercise. However, the chronic effect of the eccentric strength training (EST) on the heart rate (HR) autonomic modulation is unclear. So, the aim of the first study was to investigate whether the EST changes HR and heart rate variability (HRV) during submaximal isometric contractions (SIC). This study included 17 volunteers who form divided into two groups: training group (9 men, 62 ± 2 years) and control group (8 men, 64 ± 4 years). The results indicate that although this type of training improves eccentric strength, the EST does not have any effect sufficient to promote changes in the autonomic control of HR during isometric exercise. Another important factor to consider is the increase in incidence of cardiovascular disease that occurs with aging. Furthermore, there are modifications of autonomic control of HR related to ageing that are detected by the reduction in HRV and changes in the complexity of physiological dynamics. Based on these considerations the aim of the second study was to verify whether changes in HR modulation, caused by the aging process, can be detected by the Shannon entropy (SE), conditional entropy (CE) and symbolic analysis (SA). In this study were evaluated 21 elderly (63 ± 3 years) and 21 young (23 ± 2 years). Elderly present distributions of patterns in HRV that are similar to young subjects. However, the patterns are more repetitive, thus reducing the complexity. This decrease of complexity comes from the increased presence of stable patterns and a decreased presence of highly variable patterns. This difference indicates that apparently healthy older subjects have a marked unbalance in autonomic regulation. The results of the second study indicate that non-linear approaches might be helpful to better characterize the changes on the autonomic control of HR in the aging process.Item type:Item, A legislação brasileira e italiana sobre Educação Especial : da década de 1970 aos dias atuais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-02-22) ;Cabral, Leonardo Santos Amâncio ;Mendes, Enicéia Gonçalveshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5306031040506357The opinions of several countries on how to enforce the education of people with disability promote international discussions aimed at identifying elements, whether from the political, organizational or methodological sphere, that can solve the existing problems in their respective educational contexts. Essentially, there are countries which provide education only in specialized centers, such as Ireland, or predominantly in the classrooms of the regular school system, such as Italy, or like a continuum of services, with the establishment of a partnership between the regular school system and the specialized centers, such as Brazil, predominantly. With that in mind, and considering the current inclusive perspective of Special Education in our country and discussions that tend to defend the inclusion of all students in common classes of regular school, we saw the need to investigate how the educational services to people with disability is organized in Italy, since this is the country that, almost forty years ago, have established the school inclusion which is considered by many the most radical one. To do so, we have chosen to develop a comparative study on legislation of Special Education in Brazil and Italy, through the study of official documents, following a specific protocol, such as constitutions, laws, decrees and resolutions, taken place between the 1970s and 2009, which dealt with issues related to persons with disabilities. So, this is a documentary study, having content analysis as the main approach. It has been presented, at the beginning, a brief history of special education concerning the two countries until the 1970s and we have also made an effort to contextualize them in relation to social-economic and educational characteristics, and we have also differentiated the concepts of integration and inclusion for both countries and the criteria for identifying people with special educational needs. In the next section, we have presented, analyzed and discussed the data identified for each country. We have concluded, from the comparative perspective, that: 1) while Brazil establishes legal mechanisms to encourage changes, in Italy, the standards are drawn up collectively to support existing practices; 2) the medical perspective to the identification of Special Education students in Italy decreases the population to be served to 1.5%, which in Brazil is estimated at 14.5%, which directly influences the targeting of investments in education for this particular segment, among other services; 3) while the Italian families claimed the education of their children in public spaces of society, in Brazil, the fight was for the operation of specialized institutions. However, despite the fact that inclusive education in Italy is considered the most radical one, it still recognizes the need to maintain the operation of specialized institutions for the deaf and blind; 4) in both contexts one can identify difficulties of coordination between health services and education; and 5) there is a common trend in the common classroom teachers to delegate the disabled student to a specialized teacher. Finally, considering that the comparison with another country makes us reflect on our own practices, the study allowed us considerations about the current speech of radical inclusion that permeates the brazilian educational policy and we have seen, when considering the Italian experience, that many problems have not yet been solved in that context, which may indicate that the path of radicalization of school inclusion may not be necessarily the one Brazil should take. Instead, we should, rather than coming up with new laws, effectively implement the existing ones, respecting the rights of disabled people.
