Much of this knowledge is now registered in digital documents, due to the ease of creation and mainly of access. With an increase in the generation of information in digital format and its rapid technological obsolescence, a new challenge and fundamental requirement arises in this context: digital preservation. Given its importance to libraries university students, the general objective of this research is to develop a computational framework for the digital preservation of scientific knowledge, based on a diagnosis of the technological obsolescence of the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations of the Community Library of the UNiversidade Federal de São Carlos (BDTD / UFSCar), object of study of the research. Action research was the method used and comprised diagnostic activities of technological obsolescence, based on in a framework of reference requirements necessary for digital preservation, constructed from articles dealing with the theme. After the diagnosis, a computational solution based on free software was developed for the digital preservation of scientific knowledge produced by Graduate Programs Graduation from UFSCar. The results achieved were: 1) formatting and application of a reference structure to support the diagnosis process of the BDTD / UFSCar's technological obsolescence status; 2) development of a computational solution for the digital preservation of scientific knowledge. The reference structure and the computational solution presented contribute to the digital preservation initiatives in university libraries, by making available a system for assessing technological obsolescence and a solution involving the preservation process called Refreshment. The results ensure that the cultural, historical and scientific contribution of the scientific community UFSCar, expressed more and more through manifestations of digital documents, can be continuously accessed, in terms of content and functionality through the technological resources available at the time, having guaranteed its integrity, authenticity and reliability.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo de catalisadores de cobre suportados para a reação de oxidação preferencial do CO(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-06-30) Maciel, Cristhiane Guimarães; Assaf, José Mansur; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9563312407691130; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1792781373802286The CO preferential oxidation reaction (PROX-CO) has been widely studied in last few years. Aiming H2 purification for proton-exchange membrane cells (PEMFC) use, the main role of the PROX-CO reaction should be reduce the CO contained in reformed gas to an acceptable level of CO concentration that do not provoke deactivation of Pt electrocatalyst. The search for substitutes for noble metals like Pt and Au, the first catalysts tested in PROX reaction, has been the subject of several studies. Among the proposed new solid, the Cu-O-Ce have received considerable attention. These catalysts have been shown be active and selective for PROX-CO in a temperature range that is appropriate for application in PEMFC cells and are materials of low cost. The metal-support interface of Cu-O-Ce system favors the CO oxidation reaction and some properties as metallic dispersion, particle size and morphology are determinants for the better performance of these catalysts. Therefore, in this present work, xCuO/CeO2 and xCuO/CeO2-Al2O3 catalyst (where x is the copper loading) were synthesized, characterized and tested in the CO preferential oxidation reaction. The effects of metal content, support composition, support preparation method and catalysts preparation method were evaluated. Experimental results showed that the metallic content influences the catalytic performance and the catalyst with 1% of copper content was the most active and selective for the PROX-CO. That catalyst also showed the best performance at lower temperature reaction. The study of the effect of support nature in the PROX-CO reaction showed that the strong interaction copper-ceria is a determining factor for the good performance of the catalysts. With alumina or ceria/alumina supports, the metal-support interaction is weaker and, in consequence, the catalysts were less active and selective. The preparation method study of ceria support showed that morphologic characteristics from its synthesis lead to different results of catalytic activity. The catalyst preparation method was important to catalytic activity results. The solids prepared by impregnation and citrate method were more active and selective than others. This study was to evaluate the effects of a treatment program for aquatic therapy of muscle performance and balance in women with osteoporosis. We selected 40 volunteers, with a densitometric diagnosis of osteoporosis at the beginning and end of treatment, the volunteers underwent a physical therapy evaluation consisting of anamnesis, evaluation of peak torque and work normalized by body mass and power isometric and isokinetic 60 ° / sea 120 ° / s knee and ankle muscles in the dominant (D) and nondominant (ND) with five repetitions, with concentric contractions performed on the isokinetic dynamometer Biodex Multi-Joint System 2. The postural control was assessed by questionnaire Berg, the Time Up and Go test (TUG) and the force platform BERTEC. After the initial assessment, a researcher who was not part of the research generated through computer, a randomization list and placed one by one, in opaque envelopes, which were not translucent sealed. Participants were selected consecutively through the withdrawal of the envelope, and assigned to two groups: control group (CG) and intervention group (IG). The treatment was performed twice a week with one hour for 12 weeks in therapy pool. It is noteworthy that the GC has received the same treatment of the GI, after 12 weeks. Normality was tested using the Shapiro-Wilk test. For comparison of, we used the nonparametric Mann-Whitney test to compare results before and after physical therapy, we used the nonparametric Wilcoxon test. For the evaluation of qualitative data was used chi-square test. It was adopted a significance level of 5% (p ≤ 0.05). In isokinetic knee with a speed of 60 ° / s, there was a significant improvement in the IM variable peak torque normalized by body mass during flexion and extension of member D and ND, the work variable normalized by body mass significant improvement in member D in flexion and in extension of GI, and variable muscle power, no significant improvement in GI and GC. When evaluated the knee joint with a speed of 120 ° / s, significant improvement was observed in all variables of GI and CG no significant improvement and work in variable proportion to body weight not only significant improvement in knee extension of GI ND . In the evaluation of ankle at the speed 60 ° / s, variable work normalized by body mass and muscle power was a significant improvement in all variables of GI. For the evaluation of balance, significant improvement was found for the questionnaire Berg, TUG and some variables of the force platform IM This training program was effective for improving muscle strength in some muscle groups important for maintaining the standing posture and activities of everyday life, thus reducing the risk of falls.
