Doesn t his work have any importance for the country? Don t the elaborators of the mentioned proposal know him? From the analysis of this material, a research has been done with the survey of bibliographies about the painter that could reveal his life, not only the one already known of the general public, but the one that could serve as a basis to teachers that teach art in public schools of the state of São Paulo. Through this investigation, we try to show someone worried about his people, an educator made by the image and a man formed by the observation of his work. The first chapter reveals us Portinari s formation, his family, religiosity, his involvement with Communism, his friends, his stay in Europe, his moving to Rio and his occasional trips to Brodósqui; besides the awards received, his escape of school and the greatness of his work. The second chapter shows the reader all the educational features of this painter, his concerns about the future of education in the country and mainly about the simple man who has been building this nation and not revealed by our old masters. Which man does Portinari show in his works? The third chapter compares and analyzes contemporaneous artists works taken into account by the Curricular Proposal of the State of São Paulo. In order to compare that effect, four reactors were used under different upflow velocities each: 0.30; 0.60; 1.24 and 1.88 cm.s-1. Expanded clay was used as support material for immobilization. A synthetic wastewater containing glucose (5000 mg.L-1) was used as substrate. Reactor R124 that was operated under minimum fluidization velocity (1.24 cm.s-1) showed the best values for hydrogen production. The maximum hydrogen production rate was found to be 1.22 L.h-1.L-1. The maximum hydrogen yield was 2.55 mol H2 mol-1 glucose and the biogas content ranged between 30,5 and 61,8 %. No methane was generated. The optimum TDH for expanded bed reactors was 1h while in fluidized bed reactors were 2h. Ethanol was the main metabolite produced, suggesting an ethanol-type fermentation. No trends were shown regardless of the upflow velocity imposed to the system. We consider important to understand the historical context that led to the creation of the first higher education courses in Brazil, the late institutionalization of the first university and the higher education s development in the country along the 20th century. The bibliographical revision about that period was important to understand the IES types that were created and the great expansion of the private sector, for the detriment of the public sector. The brief historical survey about evaluation showed the changes this practice had suffered until it started being used as a justification for public policies implanted to improve education s quality. To analyze the evaluation processes, we also made interviews with professionals who have participated for several years in internal and external evaluation processes in IES. The development of the first evaluation instruments, such as PARU, CNRES, GERES and PAIUB, occurred at the time when structural reforms were introduced in Brazil, aligning the country to the international agencies proposals, adopting the concept of Evaluator State. Critics have been made to the process of the reforms consolidation, which gave privileges to the private sector, boosting its great expansion. FHC s administration created ENC, known as Provão, whose results were used by media to make rankings with institutions and courses. With Lula as president, some intellectuals who were part of his government tried to do some changes and created SINAES, whose initial objective was to evaluate IES as a whole, considering ten dimensions. It was not difficult to notice this instrument suffered transformations and it retook the practice of ranking courses and institutions. We concluded that the evaluation promoted some improvement in IES and courses, especially due to the concern about being well placed in rankings. In spite of all the contradictions, we understand that the evaluation processes are necessary because of precarious conditions of many IES and courses that do not reach the minimum pattern of quality defined by MEC.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo do comportamento fotoluminescente e morfológico do BaWO4(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-08-30) Lima, Márcia Valéria Silva; Longo, Elson; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9848311210578810; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7144772516000295Several synthesis methods reported in the literature have been developed to the formation of barium tungstate (BaWO4) powders, among these techniques; the microwave-assisted hydrothermal (MH) systems have offered important advantages in the coast reduction and/or formation of crystalline powders. The interest in the tungstates is because of its blue or green luminescence emissions at room temperature, which are able to favor the development of new electro-optic devices. The morphologies and particle sizes of these materials have been controlled by the use of surfactants and/or polymeric agents into the reaction medium. Therefore, the present work reports on the synthesis and MH processing of BaWO4 powders in the presence of ethylene glycol and polyvinylpyrrolidone at different concentrations. Thus, it was verified the influence of these surfactants in the morphology and growth process of the particles as well as its optical properties. The BaWO4 powders were synthesized by the co-precipitation method and processed in MH system at 140 °C for 30 min. These powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform Raman (FT-Raman) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopies, ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) absorption spectroscopy photoluminescence (PL) measurements and field-emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM). XRD results indicated that all materials have a scheelitetype tetragonal structure. The characteristic symmetric and anti-symmetric stretching modes of (WO4) groups were detected by the FT-Raman and FT-IR spectroscopies. FEG-SEM micrographs revealed the existence of micro-octahedra with different sizes and well-agglomerated. The optical band gap results suggested the presence of distinct types of structural defects, probably due to the synthesis or MH processing conditions. The causative agents are bacteria from the genus Xanthomonas, recently classified as two novel species, X. citri e X. fuscans. The most virulent strain is X. citri subsp. citri (Xac). In this study, we did a differential proteomic analysis of a periplasmatic proteins enriched fraction from Xac, by comparison of the protein profiles after cellular growth in pathogenicity inducing medium (XAM1) or non-inducing medium (Nutrient Broth). We performed Bidimensional Electrophoresis (2D-PAGE) in triplicate and statistical analyses were done with the software Image Master Platinum (GE). At least 80 spots showed significant differences on protein expression (p<0.05) between the two conditions tested (induction/ non-induction) and had their proteins digested by trypsin. The peptides were analyzed by mass spectrometry (LCESI- Q-Tof) and the results were compared with proteins from genome databases using the Mascot tool. Among Xac proteins identified with higher expression in in vitro pathogenicity inducing situation, two are classified as proteins involved with Pathogenicity, Virulence, and Adaptation (in according to the genome annotation): superoxidase dismutase (XAC2386) e phosphoglucomutase (XAC3579). A highly differential spot (46), increased in the inducing condition, had their proteins identified as lytic murein transglycosilase (XACb0007) and/or transglycosylase (XAC3225), oxidoreductase (XAC1160) and DNA polymerase III subunit beta (XAC0002). The spot 46 was isolated from several 2D gels and used to produce antibody in mouse. The expressions of these proteins were analyzed by Western blot in others citrus canker genome strains, which differ from Xac in the virulence and host types. This analysis showed that proteins from the spot 46 had different expression pattern among these strains, with higher expression in Xac growing in inducing condition. We conclude that the proteomic study of proteins from periplasmic fraction is an important strategy to detect Xac proteins involved with pathogenicity and virulence, even including proteins transported outside the cell. Proteins found in this fraction could be used as biomarkers, however more experiments are still necessary.
