listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Reações multicomponentes na preparação de compostos nitrogenados polifuncionalizados(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-09-03) Wendler, Edison Perevalo; Santos, Alcindo Aparecido dos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9005233120921421; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1861155436432601This PhD thesis covered was devoted to the preparation of nitrogenated intermediates by multicomponent reactions (3-MCR) with potential application in the bioactive compound synthesis. The developed methodology consisted on the coupling reaction of an organometallic compound, formed by an alkyne and a metal salt or complex, and a nitrogenated electrophile like as imines or iminium salts. In the first part of this work we reported the A3 coupling reaction of aldehydes, 4-piperidone hydrochloride monohydrate and alkynols giving the corresponding hydroxy alkynyl piperidin-4-ones, which are important synthetic building blocks. In the second part of the work was developed a coupling reaction using benzylamine as primary amine source in order to prepare amino alkynols with the benzil group. These compounds were employed, as synthetic intermediates, in the synthesis of bioactive five, six and seven membered alkaloids.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Videogames e a narrativa seriada : quest como ferramenta para a construção de mundos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-09-03) Oliveira, Jônatas Kerr de; Massarolo, João Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3308336910966465; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5453784250803736Historically, quests where frequently used by players, which empirically analyzed and systematized them with the intention of revealing the inner structure of games. After that, there was a need to address them as the primary object of study, observed by the academy. Therefore, the narratives through quests in MMORPGs was choosen as the object of study, specifically how the stories are told using quests in World of Warcraft (Blizzard Entertainment, 2004), identifying both the main structural and functional characteristics of storytelling, which allows a differentiation between various types of quests. The aim is to demonstrate that the narrative through quests in World of Warcraft is different from other structures and that the fragmented structure of quests is presented as a form of serial narrative, which allows the construction of a fictional world that is broad and deep at the same time. The analysis of narrative structure within complex systems such as virtual worlds of MMORPGs allows not only to review the way we understand the relationship of the narrative with videogames, but also can expand the way we understand the very act of storytelling.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Pulsão e instinto: um diálogo entre a psicanálise e a biologia do comportamento(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-09-03) Mouammar, Christiane Carrijo Eckhardt; Simanke, Richard Theisen; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5431145327759147; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8543191018207911The current paperwork intends to analyze the concept of drive in both first and second theories of drives according to the Freudian psychoanalysis and refers to the behavioral biology in order to initiate a debate about the Trieb concept between these two areas of knowledge. According to Sigmund Freud, the concept of drive is the most important one and also the most obscure for the metapsychology. The complications regarding the meaning of this concept begin with translation problems and with divergences among several schools of psychoanalysis, which postulate different comprehensions referring to the word Trieb and Instinkt and referring to the way Freud used them in his texts to talk about the development of the psychic apparatus and its place in the construction of metapsychology. The view on the Instinkt drive being a totally inherited and automatic behavior is a misunderstanding for the own scientists in the area of behavioral biology. Freud uses in his texts the concepts of Trieb and Instinkt in turns and this research tries to elucidate if there was the need of this distinction and, thus, an emphasis is given on the definitions that Freud has postulated about the nature of both, sexual drive and death drive. Besides, the beginning of a dialogue between these Freudian concepts and the sexual drive and the drive of aggressiveness in the sociobiology of Edward O. Wilson and in the behavioral biology of Konrad Lorenz is carried out.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Confiabilidade dos testes de condução nervosa: efeitos da crioterapia na condução nervosa sensorial e motora(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2010-09-03) Villabona, Esperanza Herrera; Salvini, Tânia de Fátima; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4391969032505723This thesis presents three manuscripts derived of two research projects that were developed during the doctorate program. Project 1. Purpose: To determine the interand intra-rater reliability of nerve conduction studies (NCS) of superficial peroneal, sural and medial plantar nerves. Methods: Two raters performed the bilateral NCS twice in 20 healthy participants (23.5±3.5 years). Reliability was analyzed by the Bland- Altman method and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results: The Bland-Altman method showed a good level of intra- and inter-rater agreement for all parameters nerves. The amplitude and latency of the medial plantar nerve (rater 1), as well the amplitude of the sural nerve (rater 2) had an intra-rater ICC ≥0.75. Inter-rater analysis showed concordance levels between moderate and very low. Project 2. Purposes: a) To compare the effects of three cold modalities on the nerve conduction parameters of the sural (sensory) and tibial (motor) nerves during cooling and post-cooling phases b) To analyze the effect of exercise on recovery of sensory and motor nerve conduction velocity (NCV). Methods: Thirty six healthy young subjects (20.5±1.9 years) were randomly allocated into three groups: ice massage (n=12), ice pack (n=12) and cold water immersion (n=12). Each group received 1 of the 3 cold modalities on the right calf region for 15 minutes. The subjects of each modality group were again randomized to perform a post-cooling activity (30 min rest or walk 15 min followed by rest 15min). Nerve conduction parameters of sural and posterior tibial nerves were evaluated. Results: All 3 modalities reduced amplitude and increased latency and duration of the compound action potential. Ice massage, ice pack, and cold water immersion reduced NCV by 20.4, 16.7, and 22.6 m/s and motor NCV by 2.5, 2.1, and 8.3 m/s, respectively. Cold water immersion, as applied in this study, was the most effective modality in changing nerve conduction parameters. The walk accelerated the recovery of sensory and motor NCV, regardless of the modality previously applied (p<0.0001). Conclusions: The NCS provides quantitative measures that contribute to the objective analysis of neural physiological effects of cryotherapy. All 3 modalities were effective in altering sensory and motor nerve conduction. However, the magnitude and duration of these effects depend on the method applied and the activity after cooling.
