(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-02-24) Gomes, Cintia; Hoffmann, Wanda Aparecida Machado; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7609135667093837; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2717658604601214
Technology-based firms (TBF s) are expected to fit market demands more easily for being technologically dynamic, more flexible due to their size and their intense knowledge grounds. This research investigated how TBF s of São Carlos/SP have involved in environmental sustainability. It focuses on environmentally friendly strategies employed by companies in sectors that are likely to be environmentally impactful. The survey verifies the environmental performance of firms by identifying if companies have done effective actions, and investigates whether they have proactive, preventive or reactive attitudes in response to pressure from legislation, environmental certification or public pressure. This research characterized those companies considering, among other factors, their relationship with local universities and research centers, characterized the entrepreneurs and verified if environmental certification is usual with the TBF s. This research is supported by work previously done on TBF s and manuals and norms, among other sources. Data were collected by means of questionnaire sent to 10 companies from industrial sectors whose production processes potentially impact the environment. It was possible to draw a partial picture of the environmentally friendly strategies employed, verify the low certification of ISO 14001 and the need for incorporating more effective environmentally friendly practices by those companies. Entrepreneurs of the companies investigated have a high educational level, and the employees have an educational level higher than those usually observed in traditional types of businesses. Most of the founders of the companies investigated come from educational and research institutions of São Carlos which also influence the technological areas developed by the companies.

In survival analysis, some studies are characterized by having a significant fraction of units that will never suffer the event of interest, even if accompanied by a long period of time. For the analysis of long-term data, we approach the standard mixture model by Berkson & Gage, where we assume the generalized modified Weibull distribution for the lifetime of individuals at risk. This model includes several classes of models as special cases, allowing its use to discriminate models. The standard mixture model implicitly assume that those individuals experiencing the event of interest possess homogeneous risk. Alternatively, we consider the standard mixture model with a frailty term in order to quantify the unobservable heterogeneity among individuals. This model is characterized by the inclusion of a unobservable random variable, which represents information that can not or have not been observed. We assume multiplicative frailty with a gamma distribution. For the lifetime of individuals at risk, we assume the Weibull distribution, obtaining the frailty Weibull standard mixture model. For both models, we realized simulation studies with the purpose of analyzing the frequentists properties of estimation procedures. Applications to real data set showed the applicability of the proposed models in which parameter estimates were determined using the approaches of maximum likelihood and Bayesian.

The Business Startup Incubator took a role in promoting interaction between the Public and Private Entities, with the aim to accelerate the cooperation between Universities, Research Centers, the Public and Private Companies. This cooperation is essential for the generation of more research, development and innovation in Brazilian companies. The growing number of Business Startup Incubators was stimulated by agents that are betting that these units can contribute to generating new business enterprise competitive and innovative. Companies participating in the hatching process (pass a certain period in the incubators) receive support in the areas of management, with courses, training and consulting for management training and actions in the area of marketing and sales that give subsidies to compete in the business highly competitive market. In this context, descriptive and exploratory, using a case study on the Business Development Center Business Incubator Jau / SP, aims to understand the process of locating the incubators, in particular the Business Incubator Jau, the interaction between public and private entities involved in the project business incubator, and finally its potential. Data collection was conducted through interviews with a sample of entrepreneurs who participated in the process of incubation in the Business Incubator Jau, using an instrument developed for this purpose, which allowed these companies to characterize and identify their perception regarding the benefits and difficulties of the Business Incubator program in Jau. Through the data obtained, it was observed that the interviewed companies consider important training in business management, stock sales and marketing, research and development, and have adequate infrastructure. These entrepreneurs in the data presented realize tangible benefits in the incubation period, though, demonstrate several difficulties, most pronounced in the case of the infrastructure program in Jau. From the work experience and support of many incubators in Brazil may point to this program as a generator of competitive initiatives, but to do so, it should be a strengthened network of public and private entities with specific purpose in generating ventures competitive and innovative.

The aim of this study was the analysis of the influence of legal, political and institutional mediations in some changes in the post-graduation course of the Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU).We sought to elucidate, through the analysis of various documents (laws, ordinances, resolutions, decrees, edicts, Postgraduate National Plans, etc.) and data from Brazilian post-graduate courses at FAPEMIG and UFU, the ways in which the guidelines induced by the legal-political changes of the national postgraduation system and by the national and Minas Gerais State innovations which are being framed in the UFU. We analyzed the relevance of the laws of the university reform in the consolidation of a new evaluation paradigm of the teacher-researcher, who established and legitimized a heteronomous management based on academic productivism. It was argued that such reforms are in line to the foundations of the State Reform and the adjustment of the Brazilian economy to mundialization of capital, the reconfiguration of the practices and culture in the university, with the aim of meeting the demands of the business sector and the needs and interests of productive capital, were also mentioned. We analyzed the importance of the role of national bodies to encourage research and evaluation, such as CNPq, FINEP and CAPES, as well as organs of the State of Minas Gerais, FAPEMIG particularly, which were fundamental to the institution of changes in the postgraduate studies at UFU, particularly for the implementation of a policy of innovation and progressive dissemination of research and applied knowledge of predominantly instrumental character. It was felt that innovation and its diffusion take place through public-private partnerships and the creation of institutional structures that enable the commercialization of knowledge and products that potentially could improve the production of goods with high added value. It was considered that the documents analyzed were necessary mediations to create university instances, which, in turn, have taken shape and are configured as articulating the relationship among teacher-researchers, FAPEMIG and market, especially the Center for Innovation Intellect/UFU, the Foundation for University Support and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurial Activities. It was concluded that the restructuring of research practices and the creation of these new institutional structures, which enable the spreading of the knowledge from them derived, tend to promote and intensify the exchange between university-enterprise, since they would have been predominantly driven by the scope of making UFU more adjusted to private capital.

Dotação e talento: concepções reveladas em dissertações e teses no Brasil
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-02-24) Anjos, Isa Regina Santos dos; Costa, Maria da Piedade Resende da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3348839151783245
The research objective was to identify, through the theoretical and methodological approaches, the epistemological profile and trends of research dissertations and theses in the graduate programs in Brazil who studied the care for people with high ability / giftedness. For this study we adapt a paradigmatic scheme proposed by Sánchez Gamboa (2007). Thus, we investigated the following indicators in dissertations analyzed: tier: empirical-analytic, phenomenological-hermeneutic, critical-dialectical; technical level: type of research, technical collection and treatment technique; theoretical level: design education, design service and design of giftedness; epistemological level: design science, design and conception of causality of scientific validation. The predominant research approach in our study corresponded to the hermeneutic-phenomenological approach, which research techniques are used to collect information, in most cases, they referred specifically to interviews, questionnaires, interviews and document analysis. As to theoretical predictions, the analyzed studies are based on theories that purport to criticize, expose and explain the ideologies silenced by a discourse, text or any other type of communication seeking to promote an intersubjective consensus. As for the epistemological level, the research analyzed consider the interpretation of the researcher on the study object as a scientific criterion, since the researcher is able to articulate in a logical and rational reflection on their research.

Throughout this dialogue we fetch describe and analyze the conceptions of an experienced teacher of Physical Education on Knowledge Teacher and about what, why and to what degree of proficiency of their students 3rd and 4th grades of Elementary School in a State School in São Paulo State, should know about physical education in their classrooms. For this, we rely on the following question: What, why and to what extent an experienced physical education teacher should know about the content in order to teach their students? And what, why and to what extent students Cycle II (3rd and 4th grades) of elementary school should know about this content? We keep the term "grades" because the school itself, at the time that there was monitoring, the nomenclature used for classes and, therefore, we recognize and value their provisions and curricular structures. Linked to the apprehension of these objectives also aim to perform analysis on educational indicators of professional development in teaching, which, emphasizing the processes of teaching and learning at school, could tell us, from the participant's response, aspects of the professional development of physical education teacher in their work context. In light of qualitative research, we used the technique to collect the semi structured interview. And to best to approach the phenomenon investigated, in addition to interviews, we conducted systematic visits to meet the participant's work context. We found that teachers have a profession that is eminently collective, but that also requires personal commitment and dedication, which indicates the need for autonomy and professional responsibility. As demonstrated by the participating teacher, professional development in teaching is an inherent element of the qualified performance in Physical Education as much sway over what each teacher intends to teach classes throughout the school. Beyond this specific area, we see it necessary for the Physical Education teacher to develop different strategies, using diverse methodologies and examples, optimize time and expand the opportunities for learning environments related to students' everyday life in and out of school, mobilize knowledge to that every child, every learner to appropriate the culture of body movement in a critical, independent and conscious. Amid all this process, it is the school community as a whole promotes opportunities, facilities and adequate periods for the development of teaching process, learning and teacher professional development. So it's important to establish analytical criteria, parameters and indicators that provide information contextualized these procedural elements.

Obesity is a chronic disease associated with autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysfunctions and with functional capacity limitation. In this context, two studies were developed to understand the cardiac autonomic nervous system and cardiopulmonary systems behavior in obese women in response to different situations. The first study, entitled "Impact of obesity in the autonomic nervous system in response to active postural changes and to treadmill six-minute walking test" was designed to evaluate and compare the cardiac autonomic modulation in obese and eutrophic women at rest and in response to postural changes, and to the treadmill six-minute walking test (tread-6MWT). In addition, we assessed the distance covered, walking work and physiological responses to the tread-6MWT in both groups. Heart rate (HR) and RR intervals were registered at resting supine position, active postural changes and during the tread-6MWT in 14 obese women (OG) and 15 eutrophic women (EG). Our results suggested that obese women present depressed ANS response to active postural changes and to the tread-6MWT, reduced functional capacity and higher walking work over the tread-6MWT, which increases the physiological responses to exercise. The second study was entitled "Clinical, ventilatory and metabolic comparative analysis of treadmill six-minute walking test and cardiopulmonary exercise testing in obese women". The objectives were to analyze and compare the metabolic, cardiopulmonary, and perceptual responses to the cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) and to the tread- 6MWT in the same sample of the first study. The tread6MWT was able to elicit ventilatory, metabolic and cardiovascular responses in accordance with the CPET, and it seemed to be an appropriate method to evaluate the functional limitation in obese women without submitting them to such a significant increase in the perceived dyspnea as CPET does.

Modern society has assumed over the years a consumption behavior pattern incompatible with a limited resources planet. In response to the consumerism negative impacts initiatives emerges to promote different standards and levels of consumption, contributing to sustainable consumption strengthening. Sustainable consumption is a controversial concept when appears in both academic and media texts. The sustainable consumption promotion requires action from civil society, governments, research centers, companies and industries. This research (a) discussed the meaning of sustainable consumption ; (b) investigated if there are civil society organizations engaged in publics and collectives actions to promote new standards and levels of consumption; (c) and examined the profile of these organizations called sustainable consumption organizations. We used a descriptive research to answer these questions that (a) sought to understand the meaning of sustainable consumption from a literature review; (b) gathered public information about civil organizations in five different sources of data collection on the internet and evaluated if these organizations were sustainable consumption organizations using ten pre-established guidelines criteria; (c) and drew these organizations profiles using five categories of analysis. The results showed that sustainable consumption is configured as a broader concept than other related terms such as green consumption, conscious consumption, ethical and solidarity consumption and responsible consumption. The results also showed that the sustainable consumption requires policy and collective actions from consumers (in this case citizens); involves the ecological, social, economic and political sustainability dimensions and focuses technological innovations followed by changes in individual behavior of consumption. We identified seventy-two sustainable consumption organizations. Analyzing the profile of forty of them it was possible to point out that sustainable consumption organizations have a close relationship with Solidarity Economy and Agroecology Movements. It was also possible to check that the political activity of these organizations takes place predominantly through the realization of sustainable collective purchasing and awareness jobs. We conclude that while is not possible to say whether the number of sustainable consumption organizations is representative, central themes to the promotion of sustainable consumption patterns must be discussed in depth within civil society.

The Brazilian forest agribusiness represents for 5% of GNP, 17% of agribusiness exports and 8% of total Brazilian exports. In this context, the State of Mato Grosso is no stranger to challenge the country in becoming competitive and sustainable in the long term in this sector. The state of Mato Grosso accounts for about 12.2% or 1.47 million cubic meters of wood production in logs of a national production of 14.12 million cubic meters coming from the native forest, and the second largest domestic producer in 2008 . The chain of wood from Mato Grosso is responsible for the production of logs, lumber, strips, sheet of plywood and others. The research goal was to identify and evaluate the factors of competitiveness of chain of lumber as a way to bring public and private politics aimed at increasing the competitiveness of this system. The methodology uses drivers identified as technology, inputs and infrastructure, management of production units, institutional environment, market structure, governance and environmental sustainability. For the drivers of competitiveness is attributed valuations ranging from very unfavorable to very favorable for sub-factors identified for each driver. Through the rapid appraisal method were interviewed key agents in the chain of lumber by conducting semistructured, as it required information from secondary sources. The lumber-producing regions are located in the central region (Pólo Sinop) northern region (Pólo Alta Floresta and Guarantã do Norte) and northwest (Pólo Aripuanã and Colniza). We conclude that the determinants of competitiveness are: institutional environment and environmental sustainability. The forest management in a sustainable manner becomes conclusive for the chain in the production of lumber in a competitive and sustainable way. However, the chain of lumber needed to reconcile public interests, NGOs, representatives of class and private companies.

This Master Degree‟s research consists of an ethnographic investigation which is concerned with the study of issues related to interaction in a foreign language (FL), focusing on cultural differences and cultural stereotypes existing not only in interaction in broad social contexts, but also in the teaching-learning process of a FL. This way, relying mainly on the studies by Hall (1959), Kramsch (1993, 1998), Viana (2003) and Barbosa (2008), we aimed at discussing the occurrence of fixed / stabilized cultural images (stereotypes) in the speeches of learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), especially those belonging to advanced levels, trying to establish a possible relationship between the learners‟ linguistic proficiency and the stereotypes (about the English language and English speaking countries) that remain rooted in their minds even after several years of formal study of the target language. Our goal, with the studies developed, was the search for a wide understanding of the culturelanguage relationship, investigating the reasons why some stereotypes persist in the vision of proficient EFL students. Data were gathered in two different language institutes, by watching EFL classes (from different methodologies) and interviewing students with the objective of eliciting and analyzing factors that might influence the creation and maintenance of cultural pre-concepts, aiming at contributing to reflection and actions in the teaching-learning process of foreign / second languages. The results obtained indicate that culture is generally presented in a simplified and generalized way in EFL classes. There is, therefore, a need for a systematic approach to the teaching of culture in FL classes that contemplate the intrinsic relationship between language and culture, seeking the development of cultural sensitivity that might unravel stereotypes and contribute to develop critical students in the learning process and in the use of a foreign language.

Efeitos do laser de baixa intensidade e do Scaffold de Biosilicato® no processo de reparação óssea
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-02-24) Tim, Carla Roberta; Renno, Ana Claudia Muniz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4106611304688552; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7999144275569009
Several resources have been studied in order to accelerate the process of bone repair. Among these resources, bioactive materials and low level laser therapy (LLLT) have gained prominence. Several studies suggest that both resources are able of stimulating osteoblast proliferation and osteogenesis at the fracture site, promoting a greater deposition of bone mass, which is fundamental for the consolidation process. Within this context, this project aimed to assess the effects of LLLT (_ = 830nm), with the fluencies of 120J/cm ² and scaffold Biosilicate®, used associated or not, on consolidation of induced tibial bone defects in the rats. In this study it was used 40 male Wistar rats (3 months ± 250g) divided into four groups (with 10 animals each): group control bone defect without any treatment (GC), group bone defect irradiated with LLLT 830nm (GL); group bone defect treated with implantation of scaffolds Biosilicate ® (GB); group bone defect treated with implantation of scaffolds Biosilicate ® and LLLT 830nm (GBL). The animals were submitted to laser irradiation (Ga-As-Al, 830nm, 100mW) at a single point on the bone defect for eight sessions, on alternate days. The euthanasia of animals occurred at day 15 after surgery, 24 hours after the last laser treatment session. Morphological analysis revealed that the laser group, showed better tissue organization in relation to other groups. Furthermore, morphometric analysis revealed that the irradiated animals showed a higher amount of newly formed bone compared to the other groups. The expression of COX-2 and RUNX-2/CBFA-1 were higher in GB and GBL groups. Also, biomechanical analysis revealed no statistical differences among experimental groups. From the results obtained in this study, it is possible to suggest that both treatments had osteogenic potential 15 days after surgery, but the LLLT was more effective in bone repair when compared to the biomaterials, or even when the two treatment modalities were associated.

The legal achievements that reassure the rights for children and young people, especially the right to education, are in need of the public actions concerning democratization of school access and attendance of young offenders. The school failure and abandonment are a common phenomenon in young offenders lives, and a significant percentage of these young do not attend to school. This qualitative study has as its central objective to comprehend the significance that young who currently attend to an assisted freedom attribute to school and their scholar experiences, aiming to identify the aspects which might act as facilitators and obstacles for their school attendance. The study included six young offenders who currently attend to an assisted freedom. The data collect were carried out by means of semi-structured interviews, observation with diary registration and documental analysis. It was found that school history of the young participants are marked by frequent changes of schools, school failures and expulsions, with the institution an ambiguous meaning, because while it discriminates, label and is the scene of conflict with teachers and peers, also promotes sociability, relationships friendship and flirting. In general, the narrative of young people about school indicates that this space is present violence and resistance movements against the relationships that oppress them, but also social relationships between friends and teachers. Overcome the idea of banking education, starting with the knowledge of experience had the students, respecting their way of being in the world, promoting inquiry, research, criticism and awareness of the reality around them, perceived themselves as routes to be followed in facing the difficulties pointed out by young people to their school attendance. The study highlights the need for training of educators in their classrooms to promote a more humane and liberating education, and that the improvement of interpersonal relationships in school constitutes a way to promote school attendance of young offenders who currently attend to an assisted freedom.

Different samplings were done in the floating macrophytes stands at Itá reservoir during September, 2006 and March, 2008, with the following objectives: (1) verify the existence of a species-specific relationship between fish species and the floating macrophytes Eichhornia crassipes, Pistia stratiotes e Salvinia sp.; (2) analyze which factors explain the distribution of littoral fish assemblage; and (3) evaluate if the presence of aquatic macrophytes influences the spatiotemporal distribution of fish assemblages in this region. It was observed some fish assemblage segregation between macrophyte stands composed by Eichhornia crassipes and by Salvinia sp., suggesting a strong influence of the macrophyte stand composition on fish assemblage structure. It was also observed a strong preference of the species Gymnotus carapo, Eigenmannia virescens and Hoplias malabaricus for macrophyte stands composed by E. crassipes, reinforcing the existence of a species-specific relationship between some species of fish and of aquatic macrophtyes. In terms of littoral fish distribution, it was observed that, apparently, the presence of the aquatic macrophytes per se is not the only factor influencing the distribution of littoral fish assemblage, which seemed to be taking advantages from low to medium macrophyte stand size, while at maximum stand size, only few species still use this environment. In this way, it is possible to say that the fish assemblage structure of the studied areas at Itá reservoir was influenced by was influenced by the presence of aquatic macrophytes, although significant daily and seasonal fluctuations in the fish community were observed.

The arrival of disabled students in higher education is increasingly evident both in Brazilian and worldwide colleges. But is higher education really prepared to receive these students who had so far very limited access to this level of Education? To answer this question this research has been developed with the aim of identify the actions and initiatives of the Brazilian public universities regarding the admission and permanence of students with disabilities in higher education, in order to verify the barriers and facilitators found by these students in higher education daily life. This survey was conducted in 13 Brazilian public universities; the research method is the "field research". For this research have been chosen five different sources of evidence, such as: two questionnaires, two semi-structured documents, informal direct observation and physical artifacts. Survey participants were: 1) The institution chancellor or someone designated by him/her (institutional managers); 2) Institution Coordinator of the admission process or someone assigned; 3) Coordinator of service or assistance program for students with disabilities; and 4) 30 students with disabilities. The main barriers found in the universities were: Architectonics (the inexistence of ramps or inappropriate ramps, out of order walkways, doors and toilets not adapted, lack of signs and references); Communicational (lack of information and translators); Pedagogical (inappropriate pedagogical practices) and; Behavioral (teachers behavior in the classroom, relationship with classmates, disrespect of the reserved parking lots). Some differences found in the surveyed universities were: The Specialized Educational Services developed in UNISUL; The structure and organization of UERN Department of Inclusion and Support and the UFPR Center for People with Special Needs; The changes made in the UERN Library; The USP Handy Guide; UNESC Institutional Legislation; Growth in the number of students with disabilities enrolled; The informative and clear Guide for Applicants with disabilities of the following universities: UFRJ, UDESC, UERN, UNESC, UNISUL, FURB and UNB. What can be observed is that the universities have been developing actions, yet they are not sufficient to keep and allow the student with disability to participate in class. It is hoped that the discussions here suggested collaborate with the subject, and therefore showing possible alternatives to improve the daily lives quality of students with disabilities in higher education in Brazil. Thus, it is hoped that through the dissemination of the results of this research there should have a possibility of implementing actions that will contribute to the students permanence, seeking to influence and raise awareness of the authorities.

Conservative treatment is indicated by the International Continence Society as the first treatment option for women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Despite its wide clinical application, there is insufficient evidence to indicate the use of vaginal cones in treatment of SUI when compared with other treatment modalities. Thus, the present study investigated the short-and long-term effects of strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles with the use of vaginal cones compared to strengthening without this device and no treatment in women in post-menopausal women with SUI. Forty five volunteers were randomized in three groups: strengthening with use of vaginal cones (GCone), n = 15; strengthening without the use of vaginal cones (GS) n = 15, and the control group (CG) n = 15. The treatment consisted of 12 sessions, with two 40min sessions per week and total of six weeks of treatment. The women were evaluated before treatment, after treatment and one year after treatment for primary outcomes (urinary leakage and pelvic floor muscle pressure) and secondary outcomes (quality of life, satisfaction with treatment and continuity of exercises). It was observed a significant reduction in urinary leakage after treatment (p <0.01), which remained after one year in both GCone and GF groups. There was a significant increase of pelvic floor muscle pressure for the groups treated in the evaluation performed after treatment (p <0.01). However, it was observed a reduction in the pressure of contraction when compared values after treatment with values one year after termination for GCone (p = 0.035) and GF (p = 0.005). For the primary outcomes, the treated groups did not differ and these were statistically higher than the GC. Comparing the values of initial and final evaluations, there were improvement of quality of life for impact of urinary incontinence, limitations of daily activities, physical and social, emotional and severity measures domains (p <0.01) for the treated groups. One year after treatment, 12/14 (80%) of Gcone women and 11/13 (84.6%) of GF women declared themselves satisfied with the treatment received. In addition, 8/15 (53.3%) of GCone women and 7/13 (53.8%) GF women continued doing exercises at home without using any device. In conclusion, the strengthening with and without the use of vaginal cones promotes positive outcomes regarding urinary leakage, pelvic floor muscle pressure and quality of life in women after menopause. However, one year after the end there was a reduction in the contraction pressure without increasing urinary leakage.

Câmera escondida: a ideologia do discurso jornalístico frente ao espectador
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-02-24) Santos, Waléria Cristina dos; Miotello, Valdemir; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9131819326282708; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7729640393666215
The hidden camera has been constantly utilized in televised journals as a tool to acquire the news being broadcast. What no one takes into consideration is how the spectators feel about this type of attitude coming from the journalists. This research's objective is to analyze the way in which the spectator attributes meaning to the televised reports obtained through the use of the hidden camera. Therefore, it was taken into consideration factors such as the ideological character of both the broadcaster, responsible for broadcasting the story, with it's news production routines, as well as the journalist itself, who elaborates the story and it's inter-relation with the spectator. The discussion begins with subjects such as genders of speech and the ideology of journalistic speech narrowing down into investigative journalism, for the understanding that it is within' this gender that he journalists make use of hidden cameras. The question that rises is that in the intent of showing the story the journalist drifts away from more ethical approaches, not minding the consequences but merely the impact of the story, using the journalistic fact to intensify the individual appearing in front of the camera as a contraventor. At first this focus shift from the fact to the subject in hand can generate certain sensationalism and destitute the spectator of its right to be in contact with the true message the story should be focusing on. To develop the proposed questions this study was fundamented under the optic of the theorist Mikhail Bakhtin, who discusses the language under the social interactionist perspective and allows us, through his studies, to work with themes such as society, ideology, ethics and aesthetics, and above all, the way the subject interacts with these speeches. Therefore, two televised stories obtained with the use of hidden cameras were utilized, which have been broadcast in televised journals on TV Globo and that were presented to the interviewed subjects. Their answers were of utmost importance, since they allowed the reflection about the subject as well as some important factors.

Alternanthera brasiliana is widely used by Brazilian people as a folk medicine for the treatment of numerous diseases. However, little is known about its chemical composition and the microorganisms that live in association with it. This work proposed the use of dereplication strategies to establish a correlation between chemical compounds present in the plant and the antibiotic activity associated with it. These strategies were also used for study endophytic micro-organisms associated with this plant, since the metabolites present in plant tissues are often result of interaction between plants and different factors present in their habitat, such as micro-organisms. 50 strains of endophytic micro-organisms associated to Alternanthera brasiliana were isolated. High-Throughput Screening strategies, which envolved analytical techniques as LC-PDA-MS, LC-PDA-MS/MS, LC-SPE-NMR and antibiosis assays allowed identification of antibiotic compounds present in the A. brasiliana stems. These compounds are member of oxylipins group, among which we highlight the 13-Z,E-KODE, 13-E,E-KODE, 9-E,Z-KODE and 9-E,EKODE. Furthermore, were identified some depsipeptides compounds produced by a strain of Fusarium fungus, isolated as endophyte of A. brasiliana. Beauvericin, which is one of these compounds , is known for its antibiotic and insecticide activities. This compound was also found in the plant extracts, suggesting that endophyte microorganism could play a role in producing antibiotic compounds inside plant tissues.

Análise do discurso e vitimologia: memória(s) de tráfico de drogas
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-02-24) Nascimento, Lucas do; Sargentini, Vanice Maria Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1406919572611392; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4176639401617663
This study has it s center in the relevance of the discourse in all social practices. Among these, are found the judicial practice, regulationed by laws, penal, civil and criminal codes that try regulation the most of social relations. Considering the drugs traffic crime, the objective of this work it is comprehend individual-position in the process of (des) construction of juridical individual (counsel), in penal process concluded with the absolution from one of the fouler defendant. Standing in the discourse formulation´s level (and/or of constitution), we work the argumentation from of the historical-discursive process where the position of counsel individual (lawyer) is formed, it enabling motions of reading/interpretation. The corpus of analysis is formed by the decision acórdão conceded by the Justice Court of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. This corpus exposes the practice of narcotic traffic of 3 young (the age between 20-30), whose crime happened in a gaúcha city, in 2003. In the judicial discursive practices, the purpose of the counsel s discourse is give an answer to the problem of the defendant with the purpose of absolution. This answer it seems to situated, many times, in an illusory perspective of completeness in the language, be rational and close, thinking on this way, be resolving the case/fact. To the discursive reflexion, resort on works from the french philosopher Michel Pêcheux and Michel Foucault. It is on the lard of various knowledge areas, like Discourse Analyses, Philosophy and Law that this work proposes the theorical-discursive reflexion. We observed the following considerations: 1) the activation of the Registrar of discourse memory in the fabric of criminal fact, 2) the operation of the senses, the comparison of the utterances of the defendants from the Criminal Investigation conducted by the Public Defender, 3) the s sdr defendant's "Z" built statements wish absolution: a) pick up only / just a ride, and b) real part in the imputation that he was being made, thus the formulation functioned as an effect of truth, 4) the Insurgency in sdr the Public Defender and Appellate of the subject showed that the FD has led to the authorization of the acquittal of the accused "Z" and impeded discourses of guilt and punishment, listed in determination of conviction in Judgement, and 5) the Public Defender Brazilian made discourses constituting meanings of victimology, thereby weakening mechanisms of criminology.

This work falls within the field of science teaching aimed at the Brazilian high school and want to investigate some of its relations with an evaluation model, specifically the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem); aiming thus, conduct a study of this examination and discourse of practice teachers in a public school School of São Carlos (SP) of this assessment, based on theoretical assumptions of the STS / STSE for believing that there are close relations that can be woven between these dimensions. As such, there is a documentary analysis of the proposal and proof of Natural Sciences and Technologies and its held focus groups and semi-structured interviews with teachers of high school to a state school in San Carlos, basing on the methodology qualitative analysis, with emphasis on content analysis. In document analysis skills and abilities were observed subtle approaches to STS / CTSA, particularly with regard to the ambivalence of scientific and technological development. The test analysis of natural sciences and their technologies in 2009, also showed shallow approaches to STS / CTSA, since 60% of the questions the aspects of science were not treated with any reasonable dimensions and influences. The context was used in most of the time, as an illustration and not for transformation a reality, and interdisciplinarity was absent in 60% of the questions basically. According to the results found in teaching discourse, evidence of the Enem emphasize social and environmental issues, science is treated as charged content, and technology in specific moments. Furthermore, teachers believe that the context and the interdisciplinary, often show themselves to unnecessary. Moreover, in their speech, there was appreciation of the Enem after its change, which occurred in 2009, the frequent use of examination questions in the classroom as well as the change in focus from teachers to treat the Enem. Regarding the presence of STS / STSE, they emphasized the importance both in the classroom - to bring a broader view of events - and in the evaluations as Enem for not only enhance the application of scientific content.
