Item type:Item, Estudo da dinâmica da frequência cardíaca do repouso ao exercício físico em pacientes com doença arterial coronariana(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-01) ;Neves, Victor Ribeiro ;Catai, Aparecida Mariahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/3476550607994320The study of heart rate variability (HRV) has been used to assess the cardiac autonomic control in different population both on the supine position and during exercise test. The reduction of cardiac autonomic control has been observed in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients, since the progression of CAD to acute myocardial infarction (AMI) can be related with symphatovagal imbalance. The HRV has been traditionally assessed by linear methods, but in recent years, the use of some nonlinear methods has provided additional data, which does not uncovered by linear analysis. Thereby, the first study had the aim to compare the HRV of CAD patients with and without AMI (CAD-AMI) with health-matched controls by linear (spectral analysis) and nonlinear (Shannon entropy, conditional entropy and symbolic analysis). Fifty-six men were divided into three groups: healthy (n=19, 57±4 years), CAD (n=20, 56±10 years) and CAD-AMI (n=19, 54±12 years). There was no difference between the groups regarding cardiac autonomic modulation by linear (spectral analysis) and nonlinear (Shannon entropy, conditional entropy and symbolic analysis). These results may be due to beta-blocker use, coronary angioplasty, exercise capacity of healthy subjects and methodology this study. Thereby, in studied conditions, methods of analysis used showed no difference in cardiac modulation between groups. On the other hand, CAD can be to take together type 2 diabetes (T2D), which is a disease that worsens the impairment of cardiac autonomic modulation. Other method used in this study, is assessment the behavior of hear rate response and variability in the phase recovery after physical exercise. Therefore, the incidence of cardiovascular events is higher in CAD patients with type 2 diabetes (CAD+T2D) than in CAD patients without T2D. There is increasing evidence that the recovery phase after exercise is a vulnerable phase for various cardiovascular events. However, the second study had the aim to assess the autonomic regulation of CAD patients with and without T2D during post-exercise condition. One-hundred-two patients were divided into two groups: CAD (n=68, 61±5 years) e DAC+DT2 (n=64, 62±5 years), which underwent cardiopulmonary exercise testing. The result of second study indicated that DAC+T2D patients had a higher delay of heart rate recovery in comparison with DAC patients without T2D. However, there no differences between the groups in heart rate recovery after adjustment for exercise capacity, body mass index and medications. Thereby, the result of this second study suggesting impairment of cardiac autonomic control after exercise in diabetic patients compared x with non-diabetic patients is more closely related to low exercise capacity and obesity than to T2D itself.Item type:Item, Uso de ICP OES para controle de qualidade na produção de fertilizantes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) ;Donato, Laiani Fischer Di ;Nóbrega, Joaquim de Araújohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/8833989058164529This research work employed an ICP OES with radial configuration for quality control in fertilizer production by the development of analytical procedures for the direct introduction of suspensions based fertilizers of Zn and Ca, whose particle sizes were lower than 10 μm. In addition, we studied a nanometric suspension of zinc (490 nm). Control charts were also developed for suspensions of fertilizers containing Cu, Mo and Zn. Analytical calibration curves were obtained using aqueous solutions, suspensions and solutions prepared from the suspensions, the latter being the one that best represented the nebulization, transport, atomization and excitation processes occurring for micrometric samples. For nanometric suspensions of zinc, it was possible to calibrate using diluted solutions prepared from stock solution of zinc. Samples and calibration solutions were diluted in HCl 0.012 mol / L medium and were shaken during the aspiration for sample introduction for avoiding any particle agglomeration. The accuracy was checked by comparing the results obtained by the developed procedure with those obtained by the official method established by MAPA. The use of control charts demonstrated that there is compliance in the manufacturing process of the product, since there was no significant variation of results and they can be considered reliable for the range of 95%. The implementation of the method in routine laboratory work led to numerous benefits to the company, among them, increased productivity, reduced reagent consumption, reduction of waste generated, hands-on experience with the instrumental technique, resolution of analytical difficulties, and especially professional growth. Considering the amount of hours / man at around US$ 22.00, the performance analysis of 15 suspensions per day and a reduction of 40 to 5 min of analysis time, we can estimate that there will be a reduction of US$ 20,995.00 / year, based on the amount of hours / man employed for sample preparation.Item type:Item, Laser de baixa intensidade e scaffold de Biosilicato®: efeitos isolados e da associação das duas modalidades terapêuticas no reparo ósseo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) ;Rossi, Karina Nogueira Zambone Pinto ;Peitl Filho, Oscar ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3007441705652783https://lattes.cnpq.br/4705154788194140This study aimed to evaluate the effects of low intensity laser therapy (LLLT) (830nm, 120J/cm2, 100mW) and implantation of Biosilicate® scaffolds, associated or not, in histological aspects, biomechanical properties of the bone callus and immunoexpression of proteins, growth and transcription factors related to different stages of bone repair, at 15, 30 and 45 days after surgery of bone defects induced in the tibia.of rats. For this, three studies were performed in which a total of one hundred and twenty male Wistar rats (3 months ± 280 g) were submitted to bilateral tibial defects and randomly distributed in four experimental groups with 30 animals each. In the first study the effects of the implantation of Biosilicate® scaffolds in bone defects of rats were investigated in two groups: bone defect group (GC) and bone defect treated with Biosilicate® scaffold group (GB). The implantation of the scaffold was performed subsequent to surgery of bone defect. Histological analysis revealed that animals of GB showed newly formed bone better organized at 30 and 45 days after surgery. The immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated that the Biosilicate® scaffold promoted a higher expression of COX-2 on days 15 and 30 after surgery, immunostaining positive of RUNX-2 in all periods, increased expression of RANKL on day 15 and positive immunoexpression of BMP-9 on the 45th day. However, the Biosilicate® scaffold did not increase the mechanical properties of bone callus. Thus, the implantation of Biosilicate® scaffold was effective in stimulating the repair of tibial defects, however, was not able to improve their mechanical properties. In the second study, the spatialtemporal changes in the process of bone healing in defects treated with LLLT were evaluated in two groups: GC and bone defect treated with laser group (GL). The laser treatment started immediately following the surgery of bone defects and have been 8, 15 or 23 sessions with an interval of 48 hours between them. The histological and morphometric analysis revealed that the GL showed better tissue organization at 15 and 30 days after surgery, and biggest area of newly formed bone at day 15. The immunohistochemistry showed that the LLLT promoted higher expression of COX-2 at day 15, immunostaining of RUNX-2 positive in all periods, higher immunoexpression of BMP-9 on day 30 and higher immunoreactivity of RANKL at day 15. However, the LLLT did not increase the biomechanical properties of bone callus. Thus, the LLLT improved the process of bone healing, but was unable to improve its biomechanical properties. In the third study the effects of the association of LLLT with implants of Biosilicate® scaffolds in bone healing were investigated in three experimental groups: GC, GB and Biosilicate® scaffold irradiated with laser group (GBL). The implantation of the scaffold was performed following the surgery of bone defect. The laser treatment started immediately after surgery and were performed 8, 15 or 23 sessions with an interval of 48 hours between them. At 15 days after surgery, the histological analysis revealed granulation tissue and newly formed bone juxtaposed to the surface of scaffolds in GB and GBL. Thirty days after injury, the GB and GBL had better organized newly formed bone compared to the CG. At day 45 was possible to observe granulation tissue in the defects of the GBL. In the GB, the peak of immunoexpression of COX-2 occurred on the 15th day and in the GBL, on the 30th day. The GB and GBL showed positive immunoexpression of BMP-9 up to 45th day after surgery, while RANKL immunoexpression was higher in the GBL at day 30. However, 30 and 45 days after injury, the animals of GB and GBL showed statistically lower values of maximum load compared to the CG. Thus, the association of the scaffold Biosilicate® with laser irradiation has osteogenic activity during the bone repair, however, the scaffold Biosilicate® associated or not with the laser irradiation is not effective to improve mechanical properties of the bone callus. Finally, we concluded that LLLT (λ = 830 nm, 120J/cm2) and implantation of Biosilicate® scaffolds, associated or not, were effective to stimulate the bone consolidation by improving the development of newly formed bone and activating immunoexpression of proteins, growth and transcription factors related to different stages of bone healing in tibial defects in rats. However, these therapeutic modalities associated or not, were unable to improve mechanical properties of the bone callus.Item type:Item, Especificação, execução e controle de alvenaria estrutural em blocos cerâmicos de acordo com a NBR 15812(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) ;Soares, Márcia Maria Melo ;Parsekian, Guilherme Aris ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7798651726059215https://lattes.cnpq.br/3083587424833017This dissertation refers to the specification, execution and build s control in masonry structural of ceramic blocks, according to the current standard ABNT NBR 15812 (ABNT, 2010). The specification was evaluated by testing the compressive strength of mortar, blocks, grout, prisms and walls, which are materials constituted of various combinations, in order to define their efficiency factors. The relationship between the compressive strength in hollow blocks and prism and in blocks filled up with mortar or grout has been established, showing, as result, loss of strength in prism when the mortar was dosed with excess water. Also, there was a variation in resistance of the filled prism when the executive procedure was improved by the implementation of re-densification. Finally, It was explained the execution and build s control in masonry structural of ceramic blocks, according to the existing literature and recommendations of NBR 15812 (ABNT, 2010).Item type:Item, Investigação in vitro do efeito da restrição proteica no metabolismo do albendazol em ratos e estudos de inibição do crescimento de células tumorais humanas pelos enantiômeros do albendazol sulfóxido(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) ;Belaz, Katia Roberta Anacleto ;Oliveira, Regina Vincenzi ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6609377714413073https://lattes.cnpq.br/3633522981711599This work presents an in vitro investigation of protein restriction in the metabolism of albendazole (ABZ). The study was conducted with microsomal fractions obtained from Wistar rats using a High Performance Multidimensional Liquid Chromatography method which was developed and fully validated for the determination of the ABZ metabolites albendazole sulphoxide (ABZ-SO), albendazole sulphone (ABZ-SO2) and albendazole 2-aminesulphone (ABZ-SO2-NH2). The compounds were extracted from the biological matrix using a C8-RAM-BSA column (5.0 x 0.46 cm i.d.) and analyzed on a chromatographic chiral column containing amylose tris(3,5- dimethylphenylcarbamate) (15.0 x 0.46 cm i.d.) with a runtime of 35 min. The results of the biotransformation experiments showed that the protein restriction influenced the oxidative metabolism of ABZ. The production of (+) and (-)-ABZ-SO was higher in the control animals. Aditionally, the production of ABZ-SO enantiomers was enantioselective, where the (-)-ABZ-SO was formed in greater amounts than the (+)- ABZ-SO in control animals. However, this enantioselectivity was not observed when the ABZ biotransformation was conducted with microsomal fractions obtained from protein restriction animals. Four chiral polysaccharide phases were also evaluated for the enantioseparation of ABZ-SO in normal and polar organic elution modes. Among the tested conditions, the tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) of amylose and MeOH 100% as mobile phase was selected to perform a semipreparative HPLC separation of ()-ABZ-SO. The pure enantiomers obtained were used in in vitro assays to evaluate the growth inhibitory effects on human tumor cells. Inhibition of cell growth was observed to be more pronounced with the (+)-ABZ-SO compared to (-)-ABZ-SO, particularly in MCF-7 cells where the inhibition was about four times more efficient.Item type:Item, Interfaces entre os avanços científicos e tecnológicos e as novas competências da área de gestão de pessoas em universidades: o caso da UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) ;Perseguino, Silvana Aparecida ;Pedro, Wilson José Alves ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8135701448186851https://lattes.cnpq.br/7708875177512113With the object of study the management of people in universities, this research presents an analysis of the current process of organizational change in the sector of Personnel Management of a federal public institution of higher education in the face of the National Policy for Staff Development. By means of direct observation of the Sun, the exploitation of animations, films and lectures they acquired knowledge for the understanding of two applications: construction of a sundial and installation of collectors of solar energy for water heating. We have developed activities with different methodologies for the students so they could really understand the need of learning contents of Mathematics. For this reason we discussed the historical necessity of the use of such knowledge and the use of it for the solution of practical problems relating to the apparent movements of the Sun. Mathematics occupy central role in the realization of the activities, but it was necessary to use knowledge from other areas such as: introduction to astronomy, geographical coordinates, energy conservation, sociology, environment, etc. for a lesson more meaningful and comprehensive of the proposal through an interdisciplinary work.Item type:Item, Estudo da influência da camada de engobe sobre a curvatura central de revestimentos cerâmicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-05) ;Gennari, Ronaldo Crosio ;Boschi, Anselmo Ortega ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3259846931278607https://lattes.cnpq.br/6977866519848589Given the importance of planarity of the tiles for covering of floor and walls, this work aims to identify the influence of engobe layer on the behavior of central curvature, and from then on, allowing a greater understanding of the phenomenon of coupling support-engobe-enamel. The engobes are currently used as intermediate layer of ceramic tiles. Among the functions provided by engobes, some can be highlighted, hide the color of the ceramic, eliminate surface defects, to prevent reactions between the substrate and the ceramic glaze. In addition, the engobe also have a role in the coupling between substrate and enamel, but this is one of the least studied in the literature. To conduct the study, distinct engobes compositions were formulated, with planned variations in their behavior during the burning (fusibility and thermal expansion). With the help of the technique of design of experiments (DOE) with 2k factorial analysis, it was possible to study the effect of these variables on the central curvature. Results helped to understand the effect of each variable and the role of engobe on the flatness of the ceramic tiles. From the analysis of the results obtained it was suggested a statistical method that can help reduce the central curvature of the tiles from the knowledge of the characteristics of the engobe to the same type of enamel.Item type:Item, Associações italianas no interior paulista num espaço partilhado: nacionalismo e italianidade sob a perspectiva da história local(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-05) ;Teixeira, Rosane Siqueira ;Truzzi, Oswaldo Mário Serra ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5005536921435787https://lattes.cnpq.br/5092373584549569This thesis seeks to develop an understanding of the trajectories of two groups of Italians who were members of the management board of two organizations, namely the Società Italiani Uniti (SIU) and the Società Italiana di Mutuo Soccorso "Gabriele D'Annunzio" ("SIMS"Gd'A ), located in Araraquara (SP) and in Catanduva (SP), respectively; this investigation was performed from the perspective of the local history, offering some reflections on the ways in which these trajectories have been significantly marked by the rise of fascism. The study covers a period from the end of the 19th century until 1942, with special focus on the 1920s and 1930s in the twentieth century. Thus, it is plausible to say that the effect of the rise of fascism in their organizations, and consequently in the trajectory of the leaders, is intrinsically related to the local conditions of each Italian colony. In this sense, Araraquara has been developed and shaped by the concepts of colonialism and there was some evidence of a closed society and a hostile environment. The social integration of Italian immigrants occurred through a gradual process. However, with respect to the political insertion, some of them have found an alternative path and joined the local Masonic Lodge. Conversely, in Catanduva, the growth of the town has occurred due to the arrival of immigrants, and it was found that there was greater permeability of social and political integration. The doctrine of fascism was incorporated into the SIU and SIMS Gd'A at different times and in different ways. In 1928, empowered by the actions of a group of partners, the SIU was recognized as a shared space where beneficent actions and fascism occurred in an open manner. Hence, the SIU began to decline in the 1930s. Therefore, the SIMS Gd'A only shared its space effectively when it became Casa d'Italia, in 1937, as agreed by consensus among the members, then becoming the only institution to represent italianity in Catanduva. Both the SIU and SIMS Gd A offered an important contribution to the consolidation of italianity in the Italian colonies. Because of access to the official records of the board meeting proceedings of these two organizations was provided, it was possible to carry out a systematic study. It was also used a wide range of public and private records, both in Brazil and in Italy (Rome). Moreover, additional data were collect through face-to-face interviews, mainly of the descendants of Italians.Item type:Item, Modelo Weibull modificado de longa duração(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-07) ;Oliveira, Cleyton Zanardo de ;Perdoná, Gleici da Silva Castro ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0745160064860746 ;Louzada Neto, Franciscohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0994050156415890When a group of patients is monitored until a pre-established date for observation of the recurrence time of an event, it is possible that, at the end of the monitoring period, a parcel of such group has not yet suffered the event of interest. When that happens, even if the period is extended, there is evidence that an appropriate model for the theoretical survival function of the time until the event occurs would be one model able to bear this kind of data. This class of long duration models will be defined because the form presented by the nonparametric estimation of hazard function in this type of study indicates that the model should be flexible to allow such function to be increasing, decreasing, constant or U-shaped. In this report, we present the long duration modified Weibull model (LDMW) as a proposal to contemplate the issues in the medicine area. The LDMW model has a flexible hazard curve, which enables adjustment when the hazard is decreasing, increasing, U-shaped, unimodal, initially decreasing and posteriorly unimodal and constant. The report also particularizes models already known in the literature that contemplate long duration, such as the long duration Weibull (LDW), long duration Exponential (LDE) and short duration models, such as the modified Weibull (MW), Weibull and Exponential. The simulations showed that the odds of coverage reach the nominal probability of 95% for moderately to big sized samples, that the LDMW p model parameters estimation is costless when compared to the MW and that the selection criteria of the AIC and BIC models are not adequate to discriminate the LDMW model adjustment when compared to the LDW model adjustment for small or moderately sized samples. The LDMW model and its particular cases were adjusted into two sets of real data considering the Classic and Bayesian Inference. The first data set is about the time until the seroreversion of children born from HIV-positive mothers and the second data set is about the recurrence time of breast cancer in women.Item type:Item, Melhoria no desempenho organizacional de uma empresa de bens de capital usando o Balanced Scorecard: um estudo de caso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-07) ;Marçola, Jadilson Astorino ;Politano, Paulo Rogériohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/8738368968765884This paper aims to verify if there was improvement in the Performance Management of an organization that uses for more than five years a Performance Management System, denominated Balanced Scorecard. To this, an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) has been modified to use it as PFM at room temperature and at high temperatures. Ferroelectric ceramics were used in the as bulk ceramic samples of Pb(Zr0,40Ti0,60)O3 (PZT 40/60) and (Pb0,79La0,21)TiO3 (PLT 21) produced by conventional methods. Nanostructured materials of Pb(Zr0,40Ti0,60)O3 (PZT 40/60) and Pb(Zr0,20Ti0,80)O3 (PZT 20/80) prepared respectively by sputtering and oxide precursors method were also studied. In a bulk ceramic PZT 40/60 was observed patterns of ferroelectric domain in twins configuration and built a three-dimensional model of its structure. The behavior of the polarization through the domain walls of 90o and 180o was investigated and widths of domains walls were estimated to be about 29 nm and 75 nm, respectively. In nanostructured samples PZT 40/60 and PZT 20/80, piezoelectric hysteresis remaining cycles, obtained by local measurements on different grains, shown a strong influence between the crystallographic orientation and the remanent polarization in each grain. Studies of polarization reorienting performed by ferroelectric lithography PFM revealed that the vertical component of the polarized material depends only on the vertical direction of the applied electric field, while the component parallel to the surface of the sample depends on the movement of the tip on its surface. This allows a procedure to control the orientation of these two components in the material. It was accompanied by images of PFM developments ferroelectric domains of ceramic PLT 21 (TC ~ 125oC) at high temperatures. The surface of the sample showed ferroelectric characteristics even at temperatures of 142°C. The results showed that the intensity of the polarization in the regions with a domain pattern decreases with increasing temperature.Item type:Item, Quantificação de resíduos de amoxicilina e ampicilina por injeção direta de amostras de leite de bovino(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-07) ;Moura, Franciane ;Cass, Quezia Bezerra ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9197210255594409https://lattes.cnpq.br/0973934556750225The development of new methods for analysis and quantification of drugs and their metabolites in biological fluids is of great interest in various areas of knowledge. The pre-treatment of complex matrices is a fundamental step for the quantification of compounds in trace levels. Methods of direct injection of samples by 2D liquid chromatography systems have led to higher precision and accuracy, and quantification limits ever smaller. The use of RAM columns allows the exclusion of proteins and other macromolecules present in biological matrix and extraction of lower molecular weight analytes through hydrophobic, ionic or affinity interactions. In this work, a number of different RAM columns were evaluated with different materials adsorbed or bound on the silica surface (BSA, methylcellulose and - lactoglobulin). As well as, columns with different modes and mechanism of the analytes retention (C8, C18, SAX, SCX) were used. Using the technique of column coupling and a mass spectrometer as detector, ampicillin, was quantified, in bovine milk samples having a RAM-BSA column, in the first dimension coupled to an ACQUITY UPLC BEH column, in the second dimension. MRM mode with three specific transitions, 350> 106, 350> 160 and 350> 192 m/z, were monitored. The first, more intense, was used for quantification while the other two were used for confirmation. The developed method is simple, with analysis time of 14 minutes without any pretreatment of samples, except for centrifugation.Item type:Item, Fatores críticos da competitividade da cadeia produtiva do ovo no estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-07) ;Kakimoto, Sergio Kenji ;Souza Filho, Hildo Meirelles dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/3750523102545273Brazil is the second greatest world producer of eggs; the production value of the egg ranks 13th among the agricultural products in the country. The Brazilian export of eggs is still incipient, but, the production potential is great since there are positive points such the climate, space, input availability and technology. It was aimed through this work to report the functioning, to investigate the role of the several economic agents and identify the critical determinants of the competitiveness of the production chain of the egg in the state of São Paulo. The methodology utilized was done through the evaluation of the competitiveness drivers with the aid of questionnaires, ascribing values of very unfavorable, neutral, favorable and very favorable to a series of sub-factors. Seven competitiveness drivers of greatest impact in the sector were selected, namely: firm management, technology, inputs, market structure, chain governance, infrastructure and institutional setting. Out of these factors were ascribed sub-factors which were evaluated and advised the survey and the analysis of the results. By means of the rapid appraisal methodology were interviewed key-agents of the chain as well obtained data in secondary sources. The interviews were directed towards the agents of the production chain link and agents of the sectoral organization of the state of São Paulo. It follows that the drivers who contribute towards the competitiveness of the production chain of eggs were both technology and firm management which have the control degree by the firm while the others remain neutral, not contributing to competitiveness. The cost of inputs, mainly the corn and the freight value, were sub-factors unfavorable to the production chain.Item type:Item, Arautos do reino de Deus, militantes na terra: a atuação dos operários evangélicos no Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos de São Carlos e Ibaté(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-08) ;Oliveira, Daniele de Jesus ;Lima, Jacob Carlos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9244132532446607https://lattes.cnpq.br/2308678123959760This study is the result of a qualitative research about the involvement of Pentecostal workers in the Union of Metalworkers of San Carlos and Ibaté. From the religious affiliation and its guidelines is analyzed the trajectories of acquaintance and engagement with the militancy and the extent to which Christian values on the one hand and the demands of trade union struggle, others do not conflict. Among the workers interviewed, the majority showed affinity with union militancy, understanding the role of the Union is to ensure the rights of workers, hence the active participation in activities promoted by the entity. Such experiments allow us to think about the changes in behavior among evangelicals in relation to micro-and macro-social policy and its consequences. Meanwhile, religion acquires a relevant role in establishing a network of contact between them within the church and labor, leading them to become interested by the union due to the participation of some "fellow believers" militants. The result is a movement of exchange of experiences between two seemingly opposite areas on the basis of an ideological nature, but in our case has been overcoming this dichotomy between sacred world and the secular world.Item type:Item, A contribuição das universidades para as empresas que adotam o modelo de inovação aberta(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-09) ;Benedetti, Mauricio Henrique ;Torkomian, Ana Lúcia VitaleÚltima atualização do currículo em 10/06/2011Item type:Item, Estratégias operatórias dos inspetores de Huanglongbing (Greening) de uma propriedade citrícola no interior do Estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-09) ;Gonçalves, Glaucia Helena ;Menegon, Nilton Luiz ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5461487552981919https://lattes.cnpq.br/7599757471634675This research aimed to study the activity of the HLB's scouts, workers whose function is to identify symptomatic plants, in order to understand the physical constraints, cognitive and organizational involved in accomplishing the task, characterizing the operative approach used to identify diseased plants, and to elucidate what aspects hinder the identification of symptoms. The method adopted for the research was the Ergonomic Analysis of Work EAW (Güérin et al., 2001). The results, after validation with the operators and management, allowed understanding the complex relationships between the physical, cognitive and organizational aspects present on activity. Major difficulties were observed mainly in relation to the disposal of the scouts on the platforms and in relation to working hours, at the beginning and end of the journey. Important findings have highlighted strategies, unknown by the organization, used by scouts to locate candidates‟ trees to the fine analysis of investigation of symptoms. In conclusion, the analysis enable to understand the constraints and find technical and organizational solutions to the survey work on citrus groves as well as it showed signs and symptoms not investigated yet or rarely considered by researchers involved on searches aimed at increasing the ability to diagnose the disease in the field.Item type:Item, Gestão do processo de desenvolvimento de produtos em clusters industriais: um survey no setor moveleiro da microrregião de Votuporanga-SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-09) ;Dias, Eliza Cristina ;Oprime, Pedro Carlos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9291517431456908https://lattes.cnpq.br/8128853369850318The Product Development Process (PDP) is a critical process because it is subject to innovation and competitive strategy of companies. The furniture industry of the micro-region of Votuporanga, consisting primarily of micro, small and medium sized companies is relatively new, and has a significant weight in the local economy, generating jobs and income. This research studies the PDP in the furniture sector of the micro-region of Votuporanga, placed in a cluster with the aim to identify the essential properties of this business process in order to establish its dynamic, technological and managerial vulnerabilities and strengths as well as the future prospects of the sector for meeting the challenges of competitiveness and innovation policy. From the scientific point of view, it draws a parallel between the theory and practice of product development in companies with limited manpower and financial resources. Thus, it considers the activity of the product development process in the context of the furniture industry as a study to attempt to confirm or refute hypotheses about the characteristics of PDP in small Brazilian companies. The descriptive and exploratory survey method was applied by a structured questionnaire with closed questions. The research instrument was developed and validated in a pilot study of ten companies. Statistical techniques were used to select the sample and analyze the data due to the large number of variables studied, so the statistical tools recommended and used were the descriptive and multivariate techniques. It was possible to confirm the weakness of the organizational structure of SMEs from the analysis and the constructs examined, wich generally adopt non-formal and imitative strategies with centralized administration based on owner s control. The success of the new product introductions depends on the tacit experience of those involved in product development.Item type:Item, Caracterização da dinâmica de integração interfuncional: um estudo multicaso em marketing e logística(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-09) ;Pimenta, Márcio Lopes ;Silva, Andrea Lago dahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/30269275813428Marketing and Logistics have a high need for integration because they compose contact points that influence the synchrony of operations with market needs. The literature in this area predominantly focuses on the elements that generate integration, and the correlation of those elements with functional and organizational results. However, there is a theoretical gap related to the characterization of the inter-functional integration dynamics between Marketing and Logistics and the integration elements. This research aimed to characterize the interfunctional integration dynamics between Marketing and Logistics. The elements that compose the integration dynamics are identified and characterized. The key elements related to inter-functional integration dynamics that were identified in the literature include contact points, integration factors, integration level, formality/informality of integration processes, and integration impacts. In order to better characterize these elements, five case studies were conducted in manufacturing companies, from different industries: Chassis and Wheels, Agriculture Chemicals, Beverages, Soybean Oil and derivates, Oral Care Products. The indepth interviews considered both Marketing and Logistics perspectives. The analysis identified similarities and differences in the characteristics of the Marketing and Logistics inter-functional integration dynamics. Practical definitions were established for contact points, integration factors, integration levels, integration formality/informality, and impacts generated by integration. The investigation of these elements within organizations may facilitate integration efforts between Marketing and Logistics, reducing conflicts and improving the companies' performance.
