The specification was evaluated by testing the compressive strength of mortar, blocks, grout, prisms and walls, which are materials constituted of various combinations, in order to define their efficiency factors. The relationship between the compressive strength in hollow blocks and prism and in blocks filled up with mortar or grout has been established, showing, as result, loss of strength in prism when the mortar was dosed with excess water. Also, there was a variation in resistance of the filled prism when the executive procedure was improved by the implementation of re-densification. Finally, It was explained the execution and build s control in masonry structural of ceramic blocks, according to the existing literature and recommendations of NBR 15812 (ABNT, 2010).listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Uso de ICP OES para controle de qualidade na produção de fertilizantes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) Donato, Laiani Fischer Di; Nóbrega, Joaquim de Araújo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8833989058164529This research work employed an ICP OES with radial configuration for quality control in fertilizer production by the development of analytical procedures for the direct introduction of suspensions based fertilizers of Zn and Ca, whose particle sizes were lower than 10 μm. In addition, we studied a nanometric suspension of zinc (490 nm). Control charts were also developed for suspensions of fertilizers containing Cu, Mo and Zn. Analytical calibration curves were obtained using aqueous solutions, suspensions and solutions prepared from the suspensions, the latter being the one that best represented the nebulization, transport, atomization and excitation processes occurring for micrometric samples. For nanometric suspensions of zinc, it was possible to calibrate using diluted solutions prepared from stock solution of zinc. Samples and calibration solutions were diluted in HCl 0.012 mol / L medium and were shaken during the aspiration for sample introduction for avoiding any particle agglomeration. The accuracy was checked by comparing the results obtained by the developed procedure with those obtained by the official method established by MAPA. The use of control charts demonstrated that there is compliance in the manufacturing process of the product, since there was no significant variation of results and they can be considered reliable for the range of 95%. The implementation of the method in routine laboratory work led to numerous benefits to the company, among them, increased productivity, reduced reagent consumption, reduction of waste generated, hands-on experience with the instrumental technique, resolution of analytical difficulties, and especially professional growth. Considering the amount of hours / man at around US$ 22.00, the performance analysis of 15 suspensions per day and a reduction of 40 to 5 min of analysis time, we can estimate that there will be a reduction of US$ 20,995.00 / year, based on the amount of hours / man employed for sample preparation.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Interfaces entre os avanços científicos e tecnológicos e as novas competências da área de gestão de pessoas em universidades: o caso da UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) Perseguino, Silvana Aparecida; Pedro, Wilson José Alves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8135701448186851; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7708875177512113With the object of study the management of people in universities, this research presents an analysis of the current process of organizational change in the sector of Personnel Management of a federal public institution of higher education in the face of the National Policy for Staff Development. The objectives were to identify factors that may interfere with the implantation of a new model of management of people in universities, specifically the model based on competencies, contextualizing the role of technology in the process and the profile of professional people management; and to delineate the profile of the professional active in the area through the mapping of competencies, from the standpoint of instrumental and political, according the spectrum of the field study Science, Technology and Society (STS). This is a case study that took place a federal institution of higher education in transition in its model of people management. For this study in order to collect the data some procedures were used, such as: document research, interviews and questionnaires; and content analysis as a benchmark analysis of the findings. The results show an assessment of the role played by the area of People Management, the factors that interfere in the process of organizational change, the professional profile, based on the approach of competencies, and learning strategies used by professionals. In this context of change in the management of people in universities, there is the emergence of a new professional profile in the area, with technology playing a new role integrative of people management subsystems, leading to the possibility of adopting the model of competency management in the medium and long-term. The study was conducted with microsomal fractions obtained from Wistar rats using a High Performance Multidimensional Liquid Chromatography method which was developed and fully validated for the determination of the ABZ metabolites albendazole sulphoxide (ABZ-SO), albendazole sulphone (ABZ-SO2) and albendazole 2-aminesulphone (ABZ-SO2-NH2). The compounds were extracted from the biological matrix using a C8-RAM-BSA column (5.0 x 0.46 cm i.d.) and analyzed on a chromatographic chiral column containing amylose tris(3,5- dimethylphenylcarbamate) (15.0 x 0.46 cm i.d.) with a runtime of 35 min. The results of the biotransformation experiments showed that the protein restriction influenced the oxidative metabolism of ABZ. The production of (+) and (-)-ABZ-SO was higher in the control animals. Aditionally, the production of ABZ-SO enantiomers was enantioselective, where the (-)-ABZ-SO was formed in greater amounts than the (+)- ABZ-SO in control animals. However, this enantioselectivity was not observed when the ABZ biotransformation was conducted with microsomal fractions obtained from protein restriction animals. Four chiral polysaccharide phases were also evaluated for the enantioseparation of ABZ-SO in normal and polar organic elution modes. Among the tested conditions, the tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) of amylose and MeOH 100% as mobile phase was selected to perform a semipreparative HPLC separation of ()-ABZ-SO. The pure enantiomers obtained were used in in vitro assays to evaluate the growth inhibitory effects on human tumor cells. Inhibition of cell growth was observed to be more pronounced with the (+)-ABZ-SO compared to (-)-ABZ-SO, particularly in MCF-7 cells where the inhibition was about four times more efficient.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Laser de baixa intensidade e scaffold de Biosilicato®: efeitos isolados e da associação das duas modalidades terapêuticas no reparo ósseo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) Rossi, Karina Nogueira Zambone Pinto; Peitl Filho, Oscar; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3007441705652783; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4705154788194140This study aimed to evaluate the effects of low intensity laser therapy (LLLT) (830nm, 120J/cm2, 100mW) and implantation of Biosilicate® scaffolds, associated or not, in histological aspects, biomechanical properties of the bone callus and immunoexpression of proteins, growth and transcription factors related to different stages of bone repair, at 15, 30 and 45 days after surgery of bone defects induced in the tibia.of rats. For this, three studies were performed in which a total of one hundred and twenty male Wistar rats (3 months ± 280 g) were submitted to bilateral tibial defects and randomly distributed in four experimental groups with 30 animals each. In the first study the effects of the implantation of Biosilicate® scaffolds in bone defects of rats were investigated in two groups: bone defect group (GC) and bone defect treated with Biosilicate® scaffold group (GB). The implantation of the scaffold was performed subsequent to surgery of bone defect. Histological analysis revealed that animals of GB showed newly formed bone better organized at 30 and 45 days after surgery. The immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated that the Biosilicate® scaffold promoted a higher expression of COX-2 on days 15 and 30 after surgery, immunostaining positive of RUNX-2 in all periods, increased expression of RANKL on day 15 and positive immunoexpression of BMP-9 on the 45th day. However, the Biosilicate® scaffold did not increase the mechanical properties of bone callus. Thus, the implantation of Biosilicate® scaffold was effective in stimulating the repair of tibial defects, however, was not able to improve their mechanical properties. In the second study, the spatialtemporal changes in the process of bone healing in defects treated with LLLT were evaluated in two groups: GC and bone defect treated with laser group (GL). The laser treatment started immediately following the surgery of bone defects and have been 8, 15 or 23 sessions with an interval of 48 hours between them. The histological and morphometric analysis revealed that the GL showed better tissue organization at 15 and 30 days after surgery, and biggest area of newly formed bone at day 15. The immunohistochemistry showed that the LLLT promoted higher expression of COX-2 at day 15, immunostaining of RUNX-2 positive in all periods, higher immunoexpression of BMP-9 on day 30 and higher immunoreactivity of RANKL at day 15. However, the LLLT did not increase the biomechanical properties of bone callus. Thus, the LLLT improved the process of bone healing, but was unable to improve its biomechanical properties. In the third study the effects of the association of LLLT with implants of Biosilicate® scaffolds in bone healing were investigated in three experimental groups: GC, GB and Biosilicate® scaffold irradiated with laser group (GBL). The implantation of the scaffold was performed following the surgery of bone defect. The laser treatment started immediately after surgery and were performed 8, 15 or 23 sessions with an interval of 48 hours between them. At 15 days after surgery, the histological analysis revealed granulation tissue and newly formed bone juxtaposed to the surface of scaffolds in GB and GBL. Thirty days after injury, the GB and GBL had better organized newly formed bone compared to the CG. At day 45 was possible to observe granulation tissue in the defects of the GBL. In the GB, the peak of immunoexpression of COX-2 occurred on the 15th day and in the GBL, on the 30th day. The GB and GBL showed positive immunoexpression of BMP-9 up to 45th day after surgery, while RANKL immunoexpression was higher in the GBL at day 30. However, 30 and 45 days after injury, the animals of GB and GBL showed statistically lower values of maximum load compared to the CG. Thus, the association of the scaffold Biosilicate® with laser irradiation has osteogenic activity during the bone repair, however, the scaffold Biosilicate® associated or not with the laser irradiation is not effective to improve mechanical properties of the bone callus. Finally, we concluded that LLLT (λ = 830 nm, 120J/cm2) and implantation of Biosilicate® scaffolds, associated or not, were effective to stimulate the bone consolidation by improving the development of newly formed bone and activating immunoexpression of proteins, growth and transcription factors related to different stages of bone healing in tibial defects in rats. However, these therapeutic modalities associated or not, were unable to improve mechanical properties of the bone callus.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desempenho e dispêndio metabólico-ventilatório nos testes clínicos funcionais e a influência de um programa de treinamento físico aeróbio em pacientes com doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2011-12-02) Marrara, Kamilla Tays; Di Lorenzo, Valéria Amorim Pires; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9071791546812165; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5603964845135135Objectives: To compare the metabolic demand ( O2/ O2peak), ventilatory demand ( E/MVV), dyspnea, fatigue on lower limbs (LL), oxygen peripheral saturation (SpO2) and functional capacity (number of climbs in step and work efficiency) at the peak of the six minutes step test (ST6) among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) stages II and III; Verify that there is relation of number of climbs in step with the first second forced expiratory volume (FEV1), BODE index, SpO2 and oxygen consumption ( O2) peak obtained in TD6, as well as with the distance walked in the six minutes walk test (6MWT) and in incremental symptom-limited cardiopulmonary test (CPT). Methods: Were evaluated 19 patients with stage II of COPD (50% forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) 80%), composing the Group 1 (G1) and 16 with stage III of COPD (30% FEV1 50%), constituting the Group 2 (G2) through ST6, 6MWT and CPT. Results: Were observed values significantly greater than dyspnea obtained at the peak of ST6 for G2, as well as significantly lower values of SpO2 at the peak of this test to the same group, as well as the number of climbs in step and distance walked in 6MWT and CPT. The number of climbs in step showed positive correlation with the SpO2 for G2, with r = 0.85. Conclusion: The patients with COPD stage III provided greater perception of dyspnea and desaturation in the ST6. In addition the same demonstrated reduced functional capacity when compared to patients with COPD stage II. And with relationship of number of climbs in ST6 with several variables, noted strong correlation with the SpO2 for patients with COPD stage III.
