listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação de um programa de formação sobre recursos de alta tecnologia assistiva e escolarização(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Lourenço, Gerusa Ferreira; Mendes, Enicéia Gonçalves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1474728505225459The right to an appropriate education for students with cerebral palsy requires the provision of resources that will help individuals to improve their performance in everyday tasks more efficiently and independently. The term assistive technology is a term used to refer to a broad range of devices and services, helping individuals achieve greater success in their activities, by improving their functional capabilities. In the case of students with cerebral palsy, assistive technology, which includes devices that involve advanced electronic and computer-based technology, can ensure learners have full access to the curriculum. However, implementation of such a system is a complex process, because it includes students of varying learning abilities; apparatus; task to be performed; and the environment; and moreover, an essential element of its successful implementation is the involvement of a skilled and experienced team of professionals. The aim of the study was to develop and implement a specific assistive technology training program to facilitate the learning process for students with cerebral palsy, and evaluate their effects. The collaborative research project encompassed the development of a training program and its subsequent implementation with a team of professionals in a special school in a town located within the state of São Paulo; and then this program was further evaluated. The participants were nine special education teachers and five professionals of the interdisciplinary team (physiotherapists, speech therapists and psychologist). Nine students with cerebral palsy also participated. The data were collected through focus groups, field notes, open questions on the questionnaires, and videotaping. The results show that the program was effective in promoting positive training for using these resources, and furthermore, that collaborative working between staff and researcher was of overriding importance. The challenge is to find out how to promote the concept into practical actions in order to meet the requirements of established methods. From the results, systematic reviews were carried out and then it was recommended the adoption of a new model for training in this area and to be used within the country, in a didactic format, that enables professionals to be acquainted with their new roles, for successful implementation of assistive technology as tools to access to learning, permanence, and the accomplishments in the development of inclusion process.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação das condições operacionais na taxa de evaporação de água em leito de jorro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Bitti, Maisa Tonon; Freire, José Teixeira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2270677706718167; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5406791392147422In this work, the influence of operating conditions on the evaporation rate of water was analyzed for drying in a spouted bed. Experiments were done for two different inlet air geometries and inert particles loads for variable paste feed flow rates and inlet air temperature and velocity. Distilled water was employed as standard paste and glass beads of 2,18mm and 2512,6 ± 0,1kg/m3 as the inert phase. The drying chamber consisted essentially of an inox cylindrical column with 120cm in height and 30cm in diameter, and a conical bottom with an angle of 60° and 23cm high. The orthogonal central composite design was used to specify the experimental conditions. Inlet air temperature and velocity, bed pressure drop, exhaust temperature and dry and wet bulb temperature at the cyclone were measured during the experiments. Results have showed that the inlet air geometry had a weak influence on the bed fluidynamic stability. The maximum evaporation rate for both inlet air geometries was of 60ml/min, under operating conditions of 115ºC 1,55u/ujm and for 8,5kg particle load. An experimental correlation was proposed to estimate de rate of water evaporation as a function of the independent variables considered. With the experimental design analysis on the water evaporation rate it was possible to identify the most significant factors that influence the process. The information obtained in this work may be the basis for future work in this field with real pastes.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O ensino de análise combinatória com aulas expositivas e fichas de aula em uma escola de ensino médio do interior paulista(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Silva, Rodrigo do Carmo; Malagutti, Pedro Luiz Aparecido; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5462523657624050The following paper is a description of a research performed with second year of high school students, in a school in the inland of the state of São Paulo, over the topic of Combinatorial Analysis. Such topic is normally neglected in this teaching level. According to the National Teaching Parameters (Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais PCN), the topic of Combinatorial Analysis is a theme with its place in the normal contents of the second year of high school, being so, the intervention was performed with students of this level. The intervention entails two Diagnoses Files (one applied in the beginning of the research, and the other in the end, serving as a comparison tool) and three Classroom Files, which take into consideration all the Combinatorial Analysis to be developed in High School. Each Diagnosis File has 5 exercises about counting, and each Classroom File has a summary of the theory developed with the participation of the teacher and the students in the form of theoretical and practical classes, and some exercises for the application of the theory developed in the Classroom File. Analysis, comments and comparisons collected by the teacher in the application of the classroom files are described in this paper. The final product of this Master degree thesis is available in the web site of Programa de Pós Graduação em Ensino de Ciências Exatas PPGECE (Postgraduate program of exact sciences teaching): www.ppgece.ufscar.brlistelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Investigação do monitoramento metacognitivo de crianças diante de medidas de capacidades intelectuais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Zampieri, Marília; Schelini, Patrícia Waltz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6185333517392859; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5365770092073082Metacognition can be defined as the knowledge people have about their own cognitive processes, which can help them plan, monitor, regulate and assess their cognitive activities. Studies in the field have produced instruments and measures designed to assess metacognitive performance, many of them based on Flavell s Model of Cognitive Monitoring andas well as Nelsons and Narens model. The present study focused on gaining a better understanding of metacognitive monitoring, which is usually assessed through judgements, which represents one way of measuring metacognition. The aim of the present study was to investigate children s metacognitive monitoring during the execution of three subtests of the BMI (Multidimensional Battery of Child Intelligence), based on the Cattell-Horn-Carroll s model of intelligence. The subtests chosen assessed quantitative knowledge, crystallized intelligence and fluid intelligence. Participants were 44 fifht-year students, and each child was individually evaluated. Following each of the subtests, children were asked to estimate their performance. Results showed that children s repertoire included metacognitive abilities, and some metacognitive monitoring rates were better for quantitative knowledge . When these abilities were compared relative to cognitive performance, those with the highest scores on the intelligence subtests demonstrated better metacognitive monitoring. These results, obtained with Brazilian children, are compared with results reported in the international literature, and the implications in terms of promoting metacognitive training are discussed.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Na urdidura das ruínas : o percurso criativo de Douglas 'Machado em Um Corpo Subterrâneo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Vaz, Patrícia Costa; Monzani, Josette Maria Alves de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0505156751073470; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7985361916073009The research contains the study of the creative process of the documentary Um Corpo Subterrâneo (2007), of the brazilian filmmaker Douglas Machado, with the theorist horizon of the studies of process critique. The link of our analysis is the understanding of the creation as a network in process , (SALLES, 2006, p.19) and, therefore, the research proposes the dive into the creation of the documentary, going beyond the analysis of the final film. We will go through the paths of creation with the genetic dossier of the director (note books, editing script , still, edited versions, interviews, among others), and data from his biography and filmography with value to this study that allows to build hypothesis and establish possible relations between these materials and the work that resulted from these connections. Those connections that define the narrative proposal chosen by the filmmaker, that privileges the construction of the other by the memory of the grief, and that point to the poetic project of the director.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Produção de hidrogênio e etanol em reator anaeróbio de leito fluidizado: avaliação do desempenho de três materiais suporte em diferentes condições operacionais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Barros, Aruana Rocha; Silva, Edson Luiz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9270383646400992Hydrogen and ethanol production using microorganisms is a promising area of technological development from a wide variety of renewable and alternative to this production is the use of anaerobic fluidized bed reactor (AFBR). One of the factors that most influence the performance of the AFBR is the material support, which must provide abrasion resistance, porous surface conducive to colonization by microorganisms, easy to achieve fluidization and ability to promote mass transfer between the medium and biofilm. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of different support materials (polystyrene - R1, grounded tire - R2 and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) - R3) on producing hydrogen and ethanol using three anaerobic fluidized bed reactors. Each reactor had a total volume of 4192 cm3 and was fed with media containing glucose as the carbon source (4000 mg L-1) with an influent pH around 5.0 and an effluent pH of about 3.5, a hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 8 1 h at a temperature of 23 2 ºC, with thermal treatment of the inoculum. For hydrogen production, the best performance was achieved with R2 (2.11 mol H2 mol-1 glucose), providing the highest H2 content in biogas (60%). In all reactors, the predominant soluble metabolites were acetic acid, butyric acid, lactic acid and ethanol, with small amounts of propionic acid. The reactor R2 produced more acetic and butyric acid (434.74 and 1013.61 mg L-1, respectively). However, reactor R3 showed a better performance for ethanol production (1941.78 mg L-1).listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Os Tupi, os Mbya e os outros: um estudo etnográfico da Aldeia Renascer - Ywyty Guaçu(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Danaga, Amanda Cristina; Peggion, Edmundo Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9849805103860827; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8230760897259077This dissertation presents an ethnographical research of the relationships between the Tupi Guarani from Village Renascer with the Guarani Mbya and nonindians. The purpose was to understand the formation history of the village within its particular context: the recording of the film titled Hans Staden. I try to articulate how this community is organized within an area of environmental protection and how they establish a strict dialogue, either with other indigenous groups or non-indians, based on the notion of "culture . There is a convergence between the Guarani Mbya, but is also an emphasis on demarcation of alterity. The Tupi Guarani highlights that come from a mixture of Tupinambá and Mbya, besides of the non-indians. This self-description is present in the speech of other villages of the coast of São Paulo state, which are part of a circuit of reciprocity, marking the existence of a Tupi Guarani territoriality that is multisite.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O uso do hipertexto na aula de língua inglesa: promovendo o desenvolvimento da oralidade por meio de novas práticas de linguagem(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2012-03-09) Faria, Elaine Risques; Paula, Sandra Regina Buttros Gattolin de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9228036521343293; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6181109593794740This research aims at investigating the use of hypertext in the English Language classroom. The central argument of the study is to promote the development of the oral language through new language practices, because with the advances offered by the development of new information and communication technologies (NICTs), especially the Internet, there is a transformation in today´s society, also called the information society. This change reflects a need for the school, students and teachers, different from the one we had some time ago, since the NICTs take the educational processes beyond the walls of the school and they promote new ways of acquiring and producing knowledge, besides promoting new ways of interaction among the individuals emphasizing the necessity of developing the oral hability in English, for a good performance in both personal and professional activities. In this sense, we understand that the school becomes responsible for promoting new language practices, new literacies, mainly the digital literacy. But there is a lack of studies that show alternatives of changes in teaching and learning methodologies in order to meet this new generation of learners. Thus, in order to combine technology to the process of teaching and learning the English language and seeking to minimize the gap presented by Xavier (2005), regarding the lack of research that shows effective results of the use of hypertext in education, we chose using hypertext as a resource to promote oral English language in an extracurricular course offered to students of a language and literature course. In this qualitative research of ethnographic base, we used a questionnaire, focus group interviews, self-reports and field notes as instruments of data collection, in order to answer the following guiding questions: 1) What is the student´s perception on the hypertext as a resource to develop the oral ability? and 2) Does the use of the hypertext and, consequently, of the Internet help to develop the digital literacy and the new roles of students and teachers in the information society? The data obtained revealed that the hypertext, through its characteristics of non-linearity and hypermodality, was effective in promoting the development of the oral language in English, and it also allowed the development of digital literacy at the same time that it led to the development of the new roles of teachers and students to act in today's society - the information society.
