In this paper, I intend to report the experience of implementing an activity in some classes in a public school of the city of Ribeirão Preto, state of São Paulo, where it was made an approach to the subject "Notable Points of a Triangle" by using the software GeoGebra like as a tool for teaching and learning. The aim is to analyze students' reactions and the interaction of the same at the presentation of the content using this software. Also a comparison of the progress is made with regard to student learning through the production and execution of activities, consisting of scripts/walkthroughs. The methodology used is the didactic engineering. Working in pairs, due to the limited amount of computers in the computer lab of the school, improved academic relations between some students, arising naturally an exchange of ideas and awakening a spirit of collaboration in a very healthy learning space. At the end of the study the author concluded that activities using computing resources as an educational tool optimizes the process of teaching and learning.

The Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases are a major global public health challenges , and are determined mostly by the association of modifiable risk factors , such as nutrition . It is believed that the use of functional foods with antioxidant properties can positively affect the incidence of such diseases. Given this context highlights the Acai ( Euterpe oleracea ) , which features in its pulp components with the ability to inhibit or reduce oxidation processes generated by free radicals in the body . Thus , this study aimed to evaluate the effect of the consumption of the drink acai in glucose and lipid profile of Wistar rats . For forty- five days 12 Munich- Wistar rats ( Rattus norvegicus ) adult females with an average weight of 250g were divided into two groups ( Acai and Control ) received water and feed ad libitum to except the group that had the Acai replaced by drinking water Acai . At the end of the experiment the animals were anesthetized and euthanized . Blood samples were collected for analysis of biochemical parameters (glucose , cholesterol , triglycerides and blood count ) and tissue samples for histological analyzes . In the analyzed variables , even without showing statistically significant differences , descriptive results showed the maintenance of body weight and glucose and lipid reduction , and increase in some blood components relevant group Acai . Thus Because the population growing interest in consuming food which prevent diseases , promote health and improve the quality of life, it is suggested that new experimental models are implemented so that the beneficial effects are enjoyed arising from the consumption of açaí.

In this paper we propose a learning process using as a theoretical base called Didactic Engineering. Our proposal is to develop content from the flat geometry of a problem related to kites. Using as a theoretical framework Didactic Engineering Could explain some didactic variables allows us to have some control over the process of teaching and learning. The proposal is aimed at students from sixth grade of elementary school, but an analysis of the potential of working with the kites to develop content of geometry shows that it is possible to make adjustments to work with students from all levels of basic education.

Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) are generated by the incomplete reduction of oxygen during metabolic processes, exposure to external agents and as a secondary response to several diseases and when in excess, can cause injury to tissues and cells. During the evolution process, cells have developed several antioxidant mechanisms. One of such mechanisms encompasses the peroxiredoxins (PRDXs), which are highlighted for their abundance and high reactivity with their substrates. In humans, six different PRDXs have been described as located in different cellular compartments. In erythrocytes, PRDXs, particularly PRDX2, is the third most abundant protein, indicating its possible role in the cell development and their maintenance. However, there are few studies connecting these proteins to erythroid diseases, especially in hemolytic anemias, that have a high ROS production, such as beta thalassemia and sickle cell disease (SCD). This study evaluated the role of PRDXs in reticulocytes of patients with the diseases described above, compared to reticulocytes of health blood donors, using Real Time PCR and proteins will be analyzed by Western blot. Our results showed that the levels of transcript and PRDX1 protein were increased in BT patients and decreased in SCD. The PRDX2 transcript showed no differences in both diseases but in western blot analysis a decrease in PRDX2 protein was observed in SCD, indicating a possible pos transcription regulation process for this gene in SCD. The levels of PRDX5 transcript did not present difference in any of the diseases. A reduction in mRNA and protein levels for PRDX6 was observed in BT and SCD patients. Besides its action in the detoxification of ROS, PRDX6 acts also as a phospholipase A2 regulating the phospholipid turnover at the cell membrane. The decrease of this enzyme found in both patients could indicate that the cell membrane of the erythroid cells were not renovated leading to hemolysis observed in these patients. This is the first study correlating gene expression of peroxiredoxins in these hemolytic anemias The results could contribute in better understand the role of these protein and in a identification of new targets that could help in the management of diseases and improve the survival of these patients.

The requirements imposed by the new applications presents great challenges to the computation. There is not a perfect computer architecture, capable to attend to all the requirements. The parallel and hybrid computer arrangement rise as a solution to this scenario i.e., the CPU-Coprocessor pair arrangement can form a specialized computerized instrument for a special application task. This doctoral thesis proposes a parallel and hybrid computational platform denoted CoP-WS, that uses the interoperability technology known as Web Services. As coprocessor it is used the graphic processing unit, known as the GPU, functioning recently as parallel thread level processing of general use applications. The platform test of feasibility was inspired in radio astronomy, and it has been implemented two applications: a complex correlator of signals provided by a radio interferometric arrangement, and a flare recognition system with a solar radio interferometer image. Both processings can be inserted in the context of pipeline execution, using sufficient configuration of CPU-GPU pairs, having on one side the interferometric arrangement antenna signal input and in the other side the result of the solar flare recognition. The obtained results of the both applications show the feasibility of the CoP-WS platform, for greater volume of data being processed in quasi real time. In the case of the correlator the average processing time in each integration period was around 160 ms, and in the case of the solar flare recognition, 48 ms for each solar disk image.
