Item type:Item, Correlação entre morfologia, percolação elétrica e propriedades mecânicas de compósitos da blenda PLA/PBS com grafite expandido(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-06) ;Sousa, Daniel Eurico Salvador de ;Lucas, Alessandra de Almeida ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9754332336954137https://lattes.cnpq.br/5035028318043763In recent years, researchers from industry and universities have focused their interests in polymer nanocomposites, especially in multifunctional composites. The composites made from nano expanded graphite ( nGE ) can provide to the polymer matrix an innovative balance of structural, electrical and thermal conductivity, electromagnetic shielding and improved barrier and wear resistance properties. The increasing demand of using biodegradable polymers, such as poly (lactic acid ) (PLA ) and its blends with poly ( butylene succinate) (PBS), in packages of short lifespan with low resistivity requirements, motivated this work. Nanocomposites of nGE with PLA and PLA / PBS blends were evaluated on the effects of conductive nanofiller content and processing methods in their rheological, mechanical, and electrical properties, in order to correlate and possibly control the formation of the percolation network. The nanographite had a major mechanical reinforcement effect in of the composite with PLA / PBS, increasing all tensile properties. Through microstructural analysis, it was was observed the selective localization of graphite particles in PLA, forming a percolated co-continuous phase with PBS phase. This phenomenon was identified as double percolation, result of the preferential nGE gelation in PLA by the processes of coalescence of PBS and possible crystallization of polymers in the blend. The PLA composites remained resistive, since the nGE particles homogeneous dispersion was maintained. The lowest resistivities were found in the samples of the blend processed by compression moulding, more favorable process for the formation of the electrical percolation network through the mechanisms mentioned above. The coalescence of PBS phase proved to be determinant for the electrical percolation.Item type:Item, Relações dialógicas entre professores surdos sobre o ensino de Libras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-06) ;Albres, Neiva de Aquino ;Lacerda, Cristina Broglia Feitosa de ;LACERDA, C. B. F. dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1652645656634694The object of this research is the formation of the Brazilian sign language teacher (Libras), in particular, pedagogically. The study about the Libras teaching and teachers formation is a new subject. Herein, I discuss some international experiences focused on the formation of the sign language teacher. A link is created between the formation conditions and the public policies for the formation of teachers, describing the syllabus for the Brazilian course, once the subjects for this research are submitted thereto. I compiled elements for the formation of teachers based on Bakhtinian studies for a methodology for teaching/studying languages. This work is structured as a field research carried out with teachers graduated with a Teaching Certification in Libras under the distance learning system coordinated by the Federal University of Santa Catarina. A Libras "back-talk focus group" was established, which was constituted by five deaf teachers, and the researcher acting as the group s mediator. The meetings were scheduled monthly, for one year (ten meetings with duration of two and half hours each). It was made a video recording and translation/transcription of these meetings. Based on the group enunciations, events discussing pedagogic practices and conceptions were selected. Based on the dialectical method, principles raised by Vygotsky (1998) were used, wherein the processes are analyzed and not only the object/product alone, articulating the microgenetic level of social interactions with the study of the dialogical-discursive behavior. Thus, elements from specific events were associated to macrosocial conditions. On a theoretical-methodological reference, the researcher sought support in historical-cultural approach theories, in particular, in the ideas published by Vygotsky and Bakhtin, which find its foundations on the enunciation and mediation, highlighting the importance of the role of our life s history, of our language and of our experiences in the constructions of our conscience. The concepts of meaning and sense were applied; the concept of dialogic; proper wording and the word of others; enunciation, ideology and enunciation, associating these concepts in order to understand the formation of teachers and the Libras teaching processes. The object hereof is limited to understand the history of formation of Libras teachers in Brazil, and the nature of the knowledge (scientific/technical) destined thereto at the time of the initial formation. The hypothesis was that, even with an initial formation, teachers presented theoretical-practical difficulties in their teaching performance. Upon the analysis of aspects of the initial formation and the enunciations of the group of teachers, it was interpreted the manner in which they signify and resignify their work, and how they apply their methodological knowledge to teach this language. Therefore, the analysis was carried out under three categories: 1) meaning and sense of the teaching work; 2) theory and practice in the teaching-learning process of the language; 3) political ideology and conscience. A thesis was established in which the formation of the Libras teachers must take into consideration the pedagogic practice as a political and didactic action within discursive contexts, providing the future teachers the understanding that the language is not an abstraction described by linguistics (solid), but that it is a part of the enunciation process. For this reason, the language is frequently mobilized by the active understanding, the teacher, therefore, being responsible for creating and conducting interactions that make Libras learners to take over manners to signify the world in this sign-visual language. This knowledge may favor the formation of future Libras teachers.Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento de concentrados de PVC reforçados com fibras de vidro longas (LF-PVC) para reforçar compostos de PVC rígido moldados por injeção(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-06) ;Grizzo, Leandro Henrique ;Hage Júnior, Elias ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1240692926327687https://lattes.cnpq.br/5414245470336455This work presents a study and development of long glass fiber PVC pellet concentrate (LF-PVC) manufactured by extrusion similar wire coating technique to reinforce pelletized rigid PVC compounds to produce injection molding LF-PVC composites. The incorporation of LF-PVC in rigid PVC compound exhibited mechanical benefits mainly in tensile modulus, flexural modulus and notched impact strength. Injection molding LF-PVC composites with 20 wt% of fiberglass presented tensile and flexural modulus 90% higher than unreinforced rigid PVC; Izod and Charpy notched impact strength 13% and 40% higher than unreinforced rigid PVC, respectively. The reinforcement of rigid PVC with LF-PVC presented slight damage in heat distortion and Vicat temperatures. 20wt% fiberglass PVC composites presented around 10% lower than unreinforced rigid PVC because LF-PVC reinforcement presented little quantity of plasticizers and majority of low molecular weight PVC resin. The innovative technique developed by Grizzo in a preliminary work [1; 2] to incorporate long glass fiber in rigid PVC compound was optimized because the LF-PVC pellets produced presented lower quantity of plasticizer, adequate fiberglass roving with suitable coupling agent (sizing) for PVC and a fiberglass roving tex (g/km) with excellent cost. In summary the reinforcement of injection molding rigid PVC compound with LF-PVC compounds produced unsatisfactory mechanical performance of LF-PVC composites, although that allowed them to compete to long glass fiber polypropylene and polyamide composites in injection molding technical parts under room temperature. Also LF-PVC composites allowed improve usual PVC applications such as connections to reduce thickness or rise dimensional, for example diameter and length, which was not possible before. The last, there are potential applications for LF-PVC composites to be used in special pressurized connections to replace internal metallic reinforcement, and in faucets and other bathroom devices for metal replacement.Item type:Item, Determinação e degradação eletroquímica do estrogênio natural estrona usando anodos de diamante dopado com boro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-06) ;Brocenschi, Ricardo Francisco ;Rocha Filho, Romeu Cardozo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5200717413563550https://lattes.cnpq.br/4530780432056175Different electrochemical techniques were used to characterize the boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode and to determine estrone. After parameters optimization, the detection limits obtained using differential pulse voltammetry (0.27 μmol L 1) and square-wave voltammetry (0.096 μmol L 1) with a cathodically pretreated BDD electrode were comparable to values reported in the literature. An even smaller value was obtained when amperometric detection was used with a flow injection system FIA-EC (0.050 μmol L 1), because there is a reduction of capacitive current interferences when a fixed potential is applied, as the continuous flow rate (surface cleaning and mass transport effect). In all cases, the BDD electrode presented a stable response (inter- and intra-day repeatabilities) and different matrices did not have significant influence on the detection of estrone. Consequently, the investigated techniques are promising for this purpose, with excellent accuracy and precision. In the electrochemical degradation of estrone studies in a flow reactor a rapid decay of estrone concentration was attained, due to the high oxidation power of the BDD electrode. This decay is dependent on the studied parameters (current density, flow rate, and pH); best results were attained at pH 3. Intermediate products formed during electrolyses of estrone at different pH (3, 7, and 10) were investigated by LC-MS/MS; thus, inedited (partial) degradation pathways were proposed, aiming at understanding the influence of pH on the generation of intermediates. Finally, electrochemical degradation of estrone at pH 7 using the BDD electrode was compared with the one attained with a β‒PbO2 electrode, also with an inedited mechanistic study.Item type:Item, A temática evolução nos livros didáticos de biologia utilizados pelas escolas públicas de Araras, SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-06) ;Bergamini, Marcela Pagoti ;Perinotto, Tiago ;Fujihara, Ricardo Toshio ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1863735094370774https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2776-5559The Synthetic Theory of Evolution is considered the unifier among all theories in Biological Sciences. Before its description, the contents were fragmented into the so-called Natural History. In this context, the importance of learning for understanding science as a whole becomes evident. However, it is noted that nowadays, the theme “evolution” present in textbooks is often approached in a minimalist way, which can lead students to erroneous conceptions, whether due to lack or even failures in the transposition of content. Therefore, the work aimed to analyze the content on evolution present in Biology textbooks used in the state public education system in the city of Araras, SP, according to the distribution made by the PNLD (Programa Nacional do Livro Didático). The three textbooks used were evaluated, pointing out content errors and factors that influence erroneous conceptions on the part of students based on didactic transposition and, therefore, proposing improvements to this teaching and learning tool. To this end, a theoretical basis was carried out through bibliographical surveys of scientific articles and academic books that address the topic of evolution and, subsequently, a comparative analysis of textbooks, following the criteria: simplification affecting the content, existence of conceptual errors, presence of fragmented concepts and relationship with everyday life. After this analysis, possible misconceptions and factors that influence the assimilation of the content were discussed, so that proposals for improvements could be suggested, to assist in the assimilation of this content by students and teachers.Item type:Item, Análise de um programa de autorregulação para alunos com dificuldades de aprendizagem(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-06) ;Figueiredo, Mirela de Oliveira ;Emmel, Maria Luisa Guillaumonhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/3660487766535040The students with learning difficulties have failures in integrating perceptual, memory, thought, language, in one or more aspects of self-regulation of learning and does not have and/or making use of appropriate and active repertoire of skills for learning. These students have as a consequence a limitation or impediment for learning reading, writing, arithmetic and social skills. The causes for these difficulties are related to the subject learning and physical and/or social environment of school and/or family. The objectives of this study were develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention for students with learning difficulties enrolled in primary municipal school. This study adopted the quasi-experimental design of the type pre-and post-test. Instruments were applied Motor Development Scale (EDM), Competency Test Reading Words and Pseudowords (TCLPP) and two checklists elaborated for assess aspects of learning, self-regulation, behavioral and emotional in students aged 7-8 years. The students were nominated by teachers and had scores below average in the indicated tests. From the results was prepared an intervention plan consisting of the reading of the book Trick of the Yellow and activities that stimulate the skills required for the acquisition and development of self-regulated learning. The materialisation of the intervention lasted 4 months, students are assessed before, during and at the end of the intervention. The JT Method was adopted for data analysis and verification of occurrence of positive changes reliable and clinically relevant. The results indicate the occurrence of clinically significant changes in reading, the body schema and spatial orientation in 27 students. There were also positive changes in aspects behavioral, emotional and self-regulatory of these students. Were found and discussed some limitations in Brazilian educational policies directed to students with special educational needs. The results show the effectiveness of the intervention in promoting self-regulatory skills in the psychomotor acquisitions necessary for the development of self-regulated learning and minimizing learning difficulties presented by the students. Finally, the study provides elements that support targeted interventions for students with learning disabilities as well as educational practices. It becomes clear that for effective school inclusion of students with learning difficulties is necessary that the proper educational inclusion policy breaks with the tendency to devote to pupils with disabilities and pass to consider other changes in development also integrate the daily life of children who attend school and are not considered in the universe of "special educational needs".Item type:Item, Influência do ácido aspártico no processo de eletrodeposição de ligas de Cu-Sn-Ni. Avaliação da morfologia, composição, estrutura, adesão e resistência à corrosão dos filmes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-06) ;Rubin, Wesley ;Carlos, Ivani Aparecida ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1666217445807782https://lattes.cnpq.br/9595264535185281This research work presents the main results on the development of electrolytic baths with no cyanides for the production of Cu-Sn and Cu-Sn-Ni alloys and also the morphological, chemical and structural characterization of the coatings and also the assessment adhesion and corrosion resistance of the deposits. From the eletrolytic solutions, it was found that for the production of films on both substrate steel or Pt, the pH should be low enough, i.e. 1.20, to avoid Sn hydrolysis and also maintain the additive fully protonated. Electroanalytical studies were conducted looking for the best deposition conditions for obtaining high quality films both on Pt and steel substrates. The influence of the deposition potential or current and the charge deposition and the effect of the additive on the characteristics of the films were analyzed. The voltammetric curves indicated that the Hasp do not influence significantly the thermodynamics of the deposition process regardless the substrate. Only, the presence of the additive led to lower Ni content in the coatings. In general, the films were dendritic and spongy, regardless of the type of deposition, substrate or the presence of Hasp. The electrodeposits phase composition is influenced by the Hasp only on Pt substrate. The phase composition for those produced on steel, without or with the additive exhibited different phases in comparision wiht those produced on Pt. In relation to the Cu-Sn-Ni deposits adherence on steel substrate, in general, they had regular grip, except deposits A_05, B_05 e A_35 which were more adherent than others. The corrosion studies showed that the performance of Cu-Sn and Cu-Sn-Ni coatings were similar. The corrosion potentials were in the range of - 661 ± 27 mV and -777 ± 73 mV, which were less negative than the Ecor of steel substrate (-759 ± 12). Furthermore, Rp values of deposits were also higher than for steel substrate and thus it can be inferred that the films produced provide good corrosion resistance. The alkaline Cu-Ni-Sn solutions were not stable and produce some metal compounds as precipitates, which were washed, dried, homogenized and characterized. It was found the possibility to use them for powder metallurgy for Cu-Sn-Ni alloys.Item type:Item, Propriedades psicométricas do inventário de habilidades de enfrentamento para a abstinência de álcool e outras drogas (IDHEA-AD)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-09) ;Sá, Lucas Guimarães Cardoso de ;Del Prette, Zilda Aparecida Pereira ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8113238388739093https://lattes.cnpq.br/8479886684573199The objective of this study was to construct and analyze the psychometric properties of an instrument capable of assessing the anticipatory coping skills for abstinence from substances. For the elaboration of items, 18 classes of the anticipatory coping skills as described in literature and obtained from interviews with people in abstinence from substances have been selected. Each one was described and subclasses, that could represent it, were drafted in the form of 92 items. After a semantic analysis and evidences of content validity made by referees, the instrument contains now 68 items. This version was submitted to tests to check application procedures and interpretation of responses, therefore another item was deleted, with others being rewritten. The instrument with 67 items was named Inventory of Anticipatory Coping Skills Inventory for the Abstinence from Alcohol and Other Drugs (IDHEA-AD, as in portuguese). To check evidences of its internal structure validity, it was subjected to Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The samples for this stage were 422 people in treatment for alcohol or crack cocaine abuse or dependence. The data obtained were considered adequate for performing factorial analysis, with KMO index of 0.88 and significant Bartlett sphericity test (χ ² = 9032.1, p < 0.001). The Maximum Likelihood method of extraction was used with Promax rotation and variables with factorial loading lower than 0.40 supressed. A structure composed of three factors revealed itself adequate and reliable, with 30 items, Cronbach's alpha of 0.88 and total explained variance of 43.02%. The first factor, named "Assertiveness and planning for high-risk situations of substance use" is composed of 14 items with a Cronbach s alpha of 0.89 and mainly involves refusal skills to the offer of substances. The second, "Expression of positive feelings for abstinence sustenance" is related to ability to demonstrate affection, which contributes to the development of less stressful social situations. It has eight items and Cronbach s alpha of 0.83. Finally, the third factor "Emotional self-control facing adverse situations" involves mainly the self-control of anger, has eight items and Cronbach s alpha of 0.77. This structure also showed good evidence of convergent validity by construct-related (self-efficacy for abstinence), concurrent criterion validity (with level of involvement with the substance and abstinence length), reliability for temporal stability and reliability by consistency in relation to the content. Furthermore, as expected, it was observed that variables such as gender, educational level and type of consumed substance seem not to affect the obtained results. When using the instrument to characterize the repertoire of coping skills in substance dependents or abusers, only abstinence length has proved to be a critical variable. A longer abstinence is related to a higher repertoire of anticipatory coping skills. All results indicate the quality of the IDHEA-AD, which allows the proceeding of the investigation in order to meet the requirements set by the Federal Council of Psychology, so it can be used by professionals in the clinical evaluation.Item type:Item, Um discurso sobre as atuais configurações familiares em filmes de Almodóvar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-10) ;Malvestio, Eliana Mantovani ;Gaspar, Nádea Regina ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4952307421175266https://lattes.cnpq.br/1180644194949275This research aims to understand the function of the subject feminine at some films of Pedro Almodóvar. In order to do that, this research uses the archaeological theory of Michel Foucault (2012) and his understanding about statement , discursive meaning and archive . This research exposes aspects of this theoretical route to deal with the initial issues: what to elect in the analysis of a filmic collection, since the women are present in almost of the totality of the director‟s work? How to select and relate the filmic scenes and sequences in this universe of images in movement? In this sense, in the universe of twenty movies of Almodóvar, three of them were selected for this analysis: All about my mother (1999), Talk to her (2002) and Volver (2006). As a result, a constant speech that permeates all his work was identified: the practice among female subjects of taking care of their family . This statement, although it seems common, become astonishing in the movies of this director, because it‟s related to the construction of a speech very common nowadays at the Social Science: the new familiar formations derivative from the practices of female care .Item type:Item, Eu não disse isso: uma análise do funcionamento da autoria nas mensagens compartilhadas de Caio Fernando Abreu e Clarice Lispector no facebook(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-10) ;Rosin, Pâmela da Silva ;Garcia, Débora Cristina Ferreira ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9543900997020605 ;Ferreira, Luzmara Curcinohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4849994635754652In this term paper, we describe and analyze more systematically the questions that came up from the research project Práticas de escrita e de leitura na rede: uma análise das mensagens compartilhadas e dos procedimentos de sua formulação linguístico-discursivas, developed during our graduation, in which we study a kind of peculiar and current text, which presents itself as "phrases", some taken from literary works, which are to circulate autonomously in social networking pages, in particular, on Facebook. This operation (production, circulation and reception) implies certain changes in the practices of writing and reading today. Regarding this and its autonomous functioning and its particular characteristics, we classified these as shared messages. These are highlighted statements, especially of literary works, which are selected, adapted , added images , which have the effect of modifying to some extent the "meaning" of these statements . These messages are posted by the users on their personal pages or murals friends and even in communities or pages. To select these messages we use the homepage O Mundo de Caio Fernanado Abreu e Clarice Lispector that functions as a repository of shared messages of these two contemporary authors. In the course of our analysis in scientific research, one of the changes in which we are faced, and which we focus in this term paper, is relative to the operation of authorship in the composition of such messages. Several procedures for assigning authorship we see being employed in these shared messages, such as the mistaken attribution of authorship, the use of phrases in the source texts that would not necessarily part of the "work " of an author (interviews and letters), the attribution of authorship to the entire message and not just the phrase taken from the work of one author, etc. To identify this specific operation of authorship , for our analysis, we adopted as a research resource not only shared messages , but also the lifting of comments from readers who recognize the authorship, misattribution criticize, evaluate the text according to another scheme reception (not as a literary work , but as self-help ). For our analysis, we rely on theoretical principles of Discourse Analysis and Cultural History of Reading, based on both theories argue about the changes in the forms of production and circulation of texts. With our work we hope to contribute to the research on the practices of writing and reading today, so we raise some evidence of this new reader/author who emerges with the new digital technologies.Item type:Item, Diferentes respostas à alternagina-c, uma proteína tipo desintegrina, em fibroblastos, células tumorais de mama e células endoteliais in vitro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-10) ;Santos, Lívia Mara ;Araújo, Heloísa Sobreiro Selistre de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4065824911933203https://lattes.cnpq.br/3369649778303435Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are key factors in tumor progression that allow tumor cells to modify the extracellular matrix (ECM) and to release cytokines, growth factors being activated by cell surface molecules such as the integrins. Integrins are major adhesion receptors of cell surface that connect the cells to the external environment enabling its movement. Integrins activate signaling cascades that influence the adhesion, survival and cell proliferation. Important inhibitors of these molecules were found in snake venoms called disintegrins. Alternagin-C (ALT-C) a disintegrin from Rhinocerophis alternatus snake venom has affinity with α2β1 integrin therfore modulating cell adhesion, migration and proliferation. However, the effect of ALT-C on MMP activity has not been described yet. Here, we have found that, ALT-C increased cell migration in MDA-MB-231 at lower concentration (10 nM) and it decreased cell migration at higher concentrations (40, 100 and 1000 nM). ALT-C was able to inhibit MMP-9 activity in human breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) conditioned medium and MMP-2 activity in fibroblastas and human microvascular endothelial cells (HMEC-1) conditioned medium. ALT-C also modulated the expression of angiogenic genes such as VEGF, c-MYC, MMP-2 and MMP-9 and it was able to inhibit transendothelial migration of MDA-MB-231 cells at all concentrations (10, 40, 100 and 1000 nM). In conclusion, ALT-C affects the extracellular matrix remodeling by modulating the activity of MMPs and expression of angiogenic genes essential for tumor growth as well as decreased cell migration.Item type:Item, Aplicação da abordagem lean no processo de desenvolvimento de produto em empresas industriais brasileiras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-10) ;Pinheiro, Larissa Maria Prisco ;Toledo, José Carlos de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9421627326330417https://lattes.cnpq.br/3638190350308432Given the movement of national and international competitions, the fast technological advances, the reduction in life cycle of products on the market and greater demands for quality and services associated with products, product development has established itself as one of the business processes key to the growth and survival of businesses of various industrial sectors and has, over the years, becoming a powerful source of competitiveness for companies from various sectors. Toyota has developed and uses a product development model considered extremely competitive, which helped make it the largest automobile manufacturer in the world. This model is called Lean Development and is a worldwide reference. The model uses lean concepts, derived from Lean Thinking, in the product development process. Studies in international scope are being conducted in order to characterize, evaluate and apply this model in other companies, either automotive market or others different markets. This Thesis presents the results obtained by a survey carried out in manufacturing companies located at Brazil. The population was defined like innovative companies with product development area in the investigated site and with Lean Manufacturing applied for at leats five years. It is presented a descriptive analysis of the companies analyzed and a factorial analysis, which reduces the research variables in four contextual factors of Lean Development. A cluster analysis of the factors identified by the factorial analysis was performed and four groups of companies were founded. The groups were classified in relation to the product development process, according to literature. The results show that 38.2% of surveyed sample applies lean concepts (principles and tools) in both production system and product development process and approximately a half of surveyed sample (46.9%) applies only lean principles in production system, but does not migrate these principles to product development process. However, these last companies are the ones with the best results in product development.Item type:Item, Aspectos rítmicos do clima de Sorocaba-SP e região(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-10) ;Sá, Ivan Vasconcelos de Almeida ;Silva, Edelci Nunes da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7229161630393268https://lattes.cnpq.br/2771113750760706The study of climate has gained importance in discussions about environmental changesbeing one of environmental aspects most affected by the anthropic actions. This paper aims to describe the characteristics of the atmospheric elements in Sorocaba - SP and São Miguel Arcanjo - SP, during the years 2010 and 2011. For this purpose was selected three episodes a fall in temperature, and two a sharp decrease in air humidity. Have been used daily data of maximum, average and minimum air temperature, relative air humidity, wind speed and precipitation volume of conventional and automatic weather stations of the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). The data analysis have been made from the rhythmic methodology developed by Monteiro (1971). Beyond the elaboration of the graphics synoptic maps were used to identify the field of atmospheric pressure and active systems to 12:00 GMT on the daily scale. Six didactic collections were also analyzed to identify as climate is studied in secondary school. Has been possible to observe variations on the elements between country and city, especially at medium and minimum temperatures and humidity, which is always superior in rural areas, except when the humidity fell abruptly. Already in didactic collections, it has been observed these are still working with the most traditional methodology considering the static notion of climate.Item type:Item, Durabilidade de polietileno em vinhaça quente e fresca em usina de açúcar e álcool(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-10) ;Buaszczyk, Gianna ;Canevarolo Júnior, Sebastião Vicente ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4153664441338178https://lattes.cnpq.br/4491397405795997Geomembranes are polymeric sheets widely used in vinasse ponds to prevent contamination of soil. Long-term durability is expected, since failure can result in environmental impact. Smooth black commercial geomembranes and injected molded plaques manufactured using different polyethylene resins were exposed to hot and fresh vinasse at an ethanol plant. Mechanical, thermal and structural changes were evaluated along 245 days of exposure to the effluent. Results showed that geomembranes are in the first step of degradation process, when it is observed depletion of antioxidants with no modification of mechanical properties. First stage of service life in hot and fresh vinasse was estimated in 4,3 years for the geomembrane 1 mm thick and 5 years for geomembrane of 2 mm. For the injected molded plaques, service life was estimated in 4,4 up to 6 years for the resins compounded with 2,5% of carbon black. The longer durability was observed for the bimodal metallocene/octene-1 comonomer from Dow Solution polymerization process. Incipient degradation was observed after 153 days, which occurred preferentially in the lower molecular weight by branching. The proposed methodology, based on injected molded plaques and their exposure in the field conditions, was validated to assess the stage of antioxidants depletion of service life of different polyethylene resins.Item type:Item, O referencial teórico de Paulo Freire no ensino de ciências e na educação CTS: um estudo bibliométrico e epistemológico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-11) ;Lopes, Gabriela Zauith Leite ;Hayashi, Maria Cristina Piumbato Innocentinihttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5471419148058887The Science Teaching, spurred by the development of science and technology as well as the field of education, seeks paradigms that go beyond positivist approaches and linear knowledge production. Perceptions of the social dimensions of science and technology have led to this PhD study to realize a proposal within the dialogic Science Teaching and STS Education (Science, Technology and Society). Perceptions of the social dimensions of science and technology have led to this PhD study to realize a proposal within the dialogic Science Teaching and STS Education. The aim of this study is to verify the ownership of the theoretical framework of Paulo Freire in Science Teaching and Education CTS, represented by the scientific production of theses and dissertations and courses offered by the graduate. Represented by the research questions: How do I set the presence of referential Freire in STS Education and Teaching STS represented by the scientific production of theses and dissertations and the disciplines offered in graduate? What are the epistemological bases underpinning the theses in the field of Education and Higher Education STS adopted the theoretical Freire? The methodological procedures used include bibliometric research and epistemological analysis, with the construction of four matrices analysis, which reach the theoretical, epistemological, ontological and gnosiological of the studies analyzed. In bibliometric survey data collection was made on Bank CAPES thesis and Notebook Indicators Capes. To search for theses and dissertations search terms used were combinations of "STS Education" "Teaching STS" and "Science Education Paulo Freire. The data were processed in VantagePoint software and Excel ®. We analyzed 43 studies that used the theoretical perspective of Paulo Freire, 34 masters and nine doctoral. In Notebooks Indicators Capes data were collected from 57 subjects of 22 educational institutions in search of references related to Paulo Freire. Bibliometric analysis results indicate that the theses and dissertations are concentrated in the area of Education and Science and Mathematics at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Universidade de Brasília and São Paulo University. To relate data from the Bank of Theses and Notebooks Indicators analyzed data from UFSC, UNB and USP with the literature of the subjects of their graduate programs, identifying literature Paulo Freire used: Pedagogy of the Oppressed and Pedagogy Autonomy. The epistemological analysis was performed by analysis of three matrices: 1) matrix ownership Freire's theoretical framework, 2) matrix paradigmatic STS , and 3) analysis matrix epistemological framework Freire. Results of the research show that the epistemological bases underpinning the theses in the field of STS Education and Science Education adopted the theoretical Freire point to changes that include critical-dialectical approaches. Work on Science Education seeks to revise the linear and positivist paradigm to which they are subjected. And work in STS Education /Science Teaching clarifies their limitations and seeks complementarity with the pedagogical thinking of Paulo Freire. Built in a humanistic and critical, the subject of knowledge is central, built and socio-historically mediated world. This study aims to add knowledge to the studies Freirean of Science Teaching and STS Education, in the sense that their results contribute to the expansion of critical mass on the need for theoretical research in Science Teaching in STS perspective.Item type:Item, O discurso da obsolescência: o velho, o novo e o consumismo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-11) ;Almeida, João Flávio de ;Romão, Lucília Maria Sousa ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8828821460772801https://lattes.cnpq.br/4157503916940767This work aims to analyze the media statements about the "new": analyzing the discourse that older objects and knowledge that are not yet unusable. To do so, we will try to tread a path through the theoretical issue of consumption (before becoming consumerism), trying to analyze historically the conversion process of enduring relationships (with objects, people, knowledge etc.) in ephemeral relationships, from discourse of obsolescence. Once defined and analyzed the theoretical framework, we will analyze three discursive materiality (in order: the movie "The Last Laugh", the advertising campaign "Intel Ultrabook Convertible", and the movie "The Devil Wears Prada") with the intention of analyzing the discourse about the "new" and obsolescence.Item type:Item, Os referenciais teóricos da área de fundamentos da educação do PPGE/UFSCar: um estudo epistemológico e bibliométrico da produção científica (1993 a 2007)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-11) ;Coelho, Marcio ;Hayashi, Maria Cristina Piumbato Innocentinihttps://lattes.cnpq.br/7428325329672198The central theme of this research consists on the theoretical foundation research in Education. The overall objective was to realize a bibliometric and epistemological analysis of the doctoral theses of the Post-Graduate Program in Education UFSCar, to determine the epistemological paradigm that predominated in such research and thus explain the relationship between the production of scientific PPGE-UFSCar and the changes that occurred in the socio-historical context and also in research on education in Brazil from the 1990s. The empirical research that has limited the scientific production of the PPGE Doctoral Course in Area of Concentration in Foundations of Education, the theses defended in the period between 1993 and 2007, totaling 55 theses. As the theoretical framework, although this work presents the different epistemological paradigms that underlie research in Education, was designed specifically for Dialectical Historical Materialism. Regarding methodology, this research is exploratory and descriptive, it was dedicated to identify and analyze the scientific production selected. For this end, we employed the following techniques: a) bibliometric analysis to treat and analyze quantitatively the scientific consist of the 55 theses; b) content analysis to determine the theoretical and methodological framework that guided the research techniques as well as epistemological, ontological and ethical present in the process of knowledge production; c) analysis of questionnaires completed by faculty advisors, and its main publications, expanding the discussion on the theoretical present in the production of scientific PPGE. Sources of research data were: a) the theses obtained in Community Library UFSCar and file PPGE-UFSCar as well as the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations of BCo/UFSCar; b) the Bank of Theses and Terms Indicators of the CAPES, which provided information about thesis bibliometric; c) the curricula of Plataforma Lattes of doctoral students and faculty mentors; d) questionnaires answered by faculty advisors and their major publications. The search result is provided in three parts, the first being a historical overview of educational research in Brazil, located in the educational context and broader social, then notes on the philosophical foundations of the major paradigms used in educational research, and finally the third part presents the elements of analysis of scientific production, the object of the research context, and the procedures and results of analysis of doctoral theses. Results reveal the dominance of the paradigm of Historical Materialism Dialectic, used in over 63 % of the theses, followed by post-modern trends, used in 30 % of searches, and Phenomenology, used in three theses. No thesis used Positivism as epistemological paradigm. These ratings were corroborated by the epistemological, ontological and ethical assumptions, as well as by references to authors and works connected to these paradigms.Item type:Item, Coordenação das transações de cana-de-açúcar das usinas sucroalcooleiras no oeste paulista: complementos contratuais e pluralidade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-11) ;Feltre, Cristiane ;Paulillo, Luiz Fernando de Oriani e ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9919942357089937https://lattes.cnpq.br/8507780898584762In the activity of supplying sugar cane to the mills in Brazil, there are governance structures differentiated between plants and also for the same plant. These structures range from the highest level of hierarchy vertical integration, in which the plant produces its own fields in the raw material for its supply to the less of hierarchy spot market, in which the plant gets the sugar cane from outside farmers without contracts or commitments with the following crops. Between these two extreme governance structures have been identified other supply arrangements called hybrids. The main objective of this thesis is to identify the factors that influence the choice of governance structures present in the supply of sugar cane in a given group of mills in the West region of São Paulo/BR State. The specific objectives are to: a) show what determines the representativeness of each governance structure in the mills selected in the West region of the state of São Paulo; b) identify the existence of plural forms; c) analyze the factors that justify the option in the mills for plural or singular forms of governance in the same type of transaction in the region West of the state of São Paulo; and d) compare the supply strategies of the plants of western São Paulo. This analysis was performed under the focus of the New Institutional Economics literature, especially dealing with the characteristics of transactions Transaction Cost Economics. The research is characterized, as the social group as explanatory research. To this end, it was applied an interview to the decision makers for supplying of raw material in the mills that represent a group of ten unities located in the west of São Paulo by competing for suppliers and land . It was observed that the characteristics of the transactions locational and temporal specificity, uncertainty and frequency are not determinative for the choice of governance structures, as recommended by the literature of transaction costs. These same characteristics make plants adopt formal mechanisms, provided for in contracts, and informal control transactions. The characteristics of transactions in supply of sugarcane exclude one of the governance structures observed in the literature the spot market but do not determine the uniqueness of others. The results also indicate that the plurality of transactions that serve the same purpose is common in the units studied and is related to the history of these plants, the need to eliminate some uncertainty in the supply and the balance between risks and disadvantages of singular forms. The singular forms, observed in only one case, appeared only as a function of need for financial restructuring of the company. Finally, it was noted that there is a significant diversity of arrangements for the supply of sugarcane in western São Paulo, hampering the framework of the structures observed in this research that was presented in the literature so far.Item type:Item, Contribuição das práticas educativas para o ensino da matemática nos anos iniciais: análise de uma experiência disciplinar colaborativa(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-11) ;Graupner, Marli de Carvalho ;Nakayama, Bárbara Cristina Moreira Sicardi ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9746628149674449 ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0106429535599187Gama, Renata PrenstteterThe present research aims to identify the contributions of the discipline Methodology and Practice of Mathematics Teaching on the Training of teachers who teaches mathematics in the early years of Elementary School. The research was developed in the Post Graduation in Education at Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Campus Sorocaba, connected to the search line "Teacher Training and Educational Practices" and integrates discussions from Project Education Observatory OBEDUC 2012. In terms of theoretical reference for addressing the models of teacher training were used the studies of CURI (2004), GATTI (2010), CURI & PIRES (2008), FOERSTE (2005), FIORENTINI (1995) e COCHRAN & LYTLE (1999). It is structured from an analysis qualitative and interpretative from the catalog and the teaching plan, as part of the material produced by the protagonists students of the discipline Methodology and Practice of Teaching Mathematics, offered on the period 8th Pedagogy course at UFSCar Campus Sorocaba, besides the script of classes held. To substantiate the analysis were used theoretical references that deal with the conceptual and didactic aspects to the teaching of mathematics. In that perspective were considered the contributions of the studies of NUNES (2005); SMOLE (2001); TOLEDO & TOLEDO (1997); FREITAS (2001), TANCREDI (2012), LORENZATO (1995) e FIORENTINI & LORENZATO (2006). The results given point that the conduction of the discipline in the colaborative perspective, presented some alternatives for concrete changes of the practice and opened possibilities for new meaning in vocational training, regarding the teaching of mathematics. The articulation between dialog, negotiation, mutuality and trust ran through all the classes and thereby it was possible to reach the goals initially proposed by the discipline in a positive and enriching way.Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento de sistema para obtenção de filmes finos supercondutores de alta temperatura crítica (HTS) por deposição por laser pulsado (PLD)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-12-11) ;Cichetto Júnior, Leonélio ;Moreira, Fernando Manuel Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1809254923092721https://lattes.cnpq.br/7434408308350513In this PhD work, the building of a PLD (Pulse Laser Deposition) system was accomplished with resources provided by FAPESP / CEPID / CMDMC, for the purpose of depositing thin films using an 248 nm pulsed excimer laser as external power source. The project presented here demonstrates that this work has the distinction of being a pioneer in Brazil in which says respect to superconducting thin film deposition trough PLD technique. Deposition of YBCO (YBa2Cu3O7-δ) thin films was the process chosen by us to calibrate and test the assembled system, as well as to learn the details of superconducting thin films deposition. The context of this work consists in a historical introduction to the laser deposition technique, comparison of techniques for thin film deposition trough physical methods and a brief review of the superconductivity theory and the theory of thin film growth. In the experimental part, we describe the assembly of the PLD system in detail, as well as we describe the analysis of the principal parameters that say respect to the technique and the fabrication of the targets utilized in the deposition. Finally, we describe the results of the characterization techniques applied to the study of thin films deposited by PLD. X ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and DC magnetic susceptibility measurements were used to analyze the superconducting thin films. Due to it pioneer condition, this work enables the Group of Materials and Devices (GMD - DF / UFSCar) as well as the CMDMC to engage in new research, not only in superconducting materials, but also in the fabrication of devices based on thin films, such as sensors, multi-components heterostructures, RAM memories, electrodes, polymers, biocompatible thin films, the GMR effect, graphene, among others, that can be fabricated precisely and controllably by the PLD technique.
