It is about a theoretical study that has been complemented with a preparatory fieldwork made at Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), in 2010. It can be seen, by one side, the search for religious knowledge and sociocultural legitimation; by other, the problems faced at return and the role of institutions in the reconstruction of social, professional and economical network. Burkina Faso is a country taking place at west of Africa, with a population of 16.241.811 inhabitants, from which 60% are muslins. The population aged between 15 to 39 years old represents more than 31%, raising its social and economic importance. Most of the population has studied at the so called franco-arab schools, in an education imbricated with a deeply religious manner, within a context that the study of French (the official language) is a matter of secondary concern. Considering the challenges of getting a university degree, countries of Arabic speaking languages became attractive because its stronger appeal of having equivalent values and due to offers for scholarships by countries like Egypt, Syria, Libya and Saudi-Arabia. By the time of return, there are plenty of difficulties about social and professional insertion for returnees. Among the possibilities that seem to be more open there are these of teaching at Franco-Arabic schools and working for associations that promotes the Islam and rights of Islamic populations. It is noted, firstly, the social historic context of education in the country and, then, the role of Muslim Institutions, mainly, of local Islamic Universities in the process of social support in constructing spaces that aim social belonging and work.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Apropriação social da ciência e da tecnologia: uma leitura pelo viés do consumo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Santos, Juliana Cristina Santicioli dos; Sousa, Cidoval Morais de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0573233540937425; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3591552864124364This essay presents the results of an investigation about the image consumers have regarding Science and Technology in the city of Sao Carlos. Through the technique of focal groups, there was a search for identification and discussion of the appropriate image of C&T in the consumption context, as well as the distinction if the purchase processes are determined or determining of such image and through which channels, this same perceived image, happens. The research was carried out with five groups of different social categories: university students, private school teachers, industry workers, outsourced workers and housewives. The data were examined based on the qualitative analysis of the content, specifically the synthesis of the content analysis, as to obtain, through the generalizations capable of synthetizing the collected data, likely to conclusion. From the research of consumption bias, the definition of groups called to it was accomplished based on a criterion converging to the identification of the extracts which were economically more representative to the city. The results point that the consumption, at the same time it reinforces the inherited view of C&T, as a paradox, it adds eloquent critiques to it, converging to the assumptions CTS, in special to the people led to the democratization of C&T through the Social Appropriation and Technology Science, ASC&T.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Habilidades sociais e deficiência intelectual: influência de um programa de educação física baseado na cultura corporal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Ferreira, Elizângela Fernandes; Munster, Mey de Abreu Van; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7861049737421476; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0595279934325883People with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) may have impaired social skills due to difficulties associated with adaptive behavior, which is a determining factor in their development. Social skills, and adaptive behavior, are linked to the process of adaptation of the individual to society and the behavior stems from the culture and the prevailing social norms. Given the relationship between culture and social skills, justified the adoption of critical- surmounting approach as theoretical and methodological basis of this study. Through body movements originating in culture, is intended to encourage the social skills of people with ID. Considering the possibility of inter-relationship between social skills and body culture, the following question arises: a program of physical education based on the principles of body culture can assist in the development of social skills? The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of a physical education program based on the principles of physical culture on the social skills of children with intellectual disabilities. Under qualitative-quantitative approach, it is a field research, the type of study program evaluation. The population was composed of children and adolescents with intellectual disability, the sample comprised 16 children and youth enrolled in a special school in a city in the interior of São Paulo. Children and adolescents participating in the study, belonging to two different classes, were evaluated by three teachers: the conductor/teacher responsible for the class, the teacher of Body Expression and Physical Education, through the instrument of the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS-BR), administered before and after an intervention program in physical education from the perspective of body culture. The program developed by the researcher consisted of 24 sessions lasting 40 minutes each, over 2 months of intervention. During the intervention was employed participant observation, recorded systematically by field diary and footage as an additional tool for data collection. The information obtained through the SSRS-BR were analyzed quantitatively by JT method, the data from the field diary were discussed based on content analysis. Through the analysis of the results showed that the program exerted influence on all classes of social skills developed in both groups A and B. In the postintervention assessment of the overall social skills kind of 16 participants, 12 reached a reliable positive change. Thus, we conclude that the program of Physical Education, based on body culture, was effective in the development and/or improvement of social skills in a positive, in children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A metodologia do Aprendizagem Sequencial nas percepções e ações de participantes de atividades formativas em Educação Ambiental(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Maragni, Arianne Rabelo Brianezi; Neiman, Zysman; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6435341856481082; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9632627063108151This dissertation discusses the training workshop “Vivências com a Natureza” (offered by the Associação Brasileira de Vivências com a Natureza, Instituto Romã) from May 2003 until June 2012. The survey consists on mapping the educators who have participated, their professional actions using the methodology, what impact on their personal and professional lives it has had and how the methodology relates to Environmental Education. It also examines the complementarity between the processes of awareness and knowledge within the field of the Environmental Education. The results indicate that educators work with the Flow Learning methodology because they believe that consciousness-raising processes are important to start changing behavior and attitudes in the environmental area. They also believe that information and more objective questions are complementary to this process.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação multidimensional de um programa de intervenção com mães de crianças com deficiência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Azevedo, Tássia Lopes de; Cia, Fabiana; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5999108571365402; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7104491221976924Involving families in intervention programs supports them and allows them to have autonomy to hire services while learning and strategizing the necessary requirements to claim their rights, as well as assist in the development or enhancement of skills to stimulate their children. The research aimed to implement a program of intervention with mothers of children with disabilities and to evaluate the influence of the same on the identification of needs, stimulation offered to children, stress level and level of empowerment. The intervention program occurred in nine weekly meetings, 120/150 minutes long, being divided into two parts: (a) parenting practices and child development and (b) thematic interests of mothers. All sessions were recorded wiht annotation into a field journal. To meet the goals, the mothers were evaluated through a resources and stress questionnaire, an EC-Home inventory and a family empowerment scale. In addition, the participants responded to questionnaires for evaluating the intervention framework to assess different aspects of the quality of the intervention, at the end of each meeting and the end of the program. To compare the averages of the mothers between the pre- and post-test Mann-Whitney test was used. To compare the frequency of stimulation that mothers offered children in the family environment, through the EC-Home Inventory, the Kruskal-Walllis was used. To relate the variables the Spearman correlation test was used, considering only the data of the pretest. The assessment tools and intervention sessions quantitative and qualitative data were obtained, which were calculated averages, standard deviation and content analyses performed. Based on the results, it was found that at every meeting, mothers were able to demonstrate their difficulties and potential to deal with some situations, express their feelings, exchange information and clarify their doubts in respect to the child with the disability. According to the results, there is statistically a significant decrease of the needs, and the level of family stress, as well as an increase in stimulation offered to the child in the family environmentt and empowerment. The higherthe age of the child, the greater the needs of families the higher the purchasing power of families, the greater the level of empowerment, and the lower the family stress. In regards to the structure of the intervention program, all aspects of the meetings were evaluated by the participants in a positive way, with scores ranging from 4.0 'good' to 5.0 'very good'. The most well assessed in different encounters were the speaker's ability to conduct the session in an orderly manner and that the participants had the opportunity to speak. The positive aspects of the intervention program were the mothers who showed that the Group clarified the doubts of participants and helped resolve difficulties related to the needs of children, On the other hand, the time when the subject was broached, evaluated by the mothers as short and the participation of the same were evaluated as a negative point of the intervention. It is concluded that the intervention program provided the mothers with the tools and information that might assist in family interactions, more specifically on the interactions between parents and children. It is believed that the participation of mothers in the intervention program can assist positively in the development of children with disabilities.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo da hemoglobina em filmes nanoestruturados como mediador eletroquímico na aplicação em biossensores(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Souza, Tâmera Tais de Lima; Ferreira, Marystela; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4714185516263478; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1524281693390421; Riul Júnior, Antonio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0751163307734256; Saeki, Margarida JuriThe layer-by-layer technique is one of the most used in the immobilization of molecules of biological interest, being largely employed in the fabrication of modified electrodes for biosensors. One of the main challenges in the development of biosensors is to eliminate interfering electroactive species within the detection system, therefore, this problem can be solved with the introduction of inorganic or organic electron mediators. Here, we carried out systematic studies for the application of hemoglobin acting as an electron mediator, and the self-assembly technique was used to immobilize haemoglobin in nanostructured thin films. The LbL films were tested with two polyelectrolytes, obtaining uniform films with activity kept during 15 days, without responses to possible interfering phospholipids. The layer-bylayer technique was also used to immobilize the enzyme cholesterol oxidase, alternated with different polyelectrolytes. The thin films showed a good performance as an amperometric biosensor for the detection of cholesterol at low concentrations (10-5 M), with the functioning of the biosensor attributed to the use of hemoglobin in mediating the effects of excluding interfering ascorbic acid and uric acid. Some tests were also performed in real samples using egg yolk, with good results obtained. The high sensitivity and selectivity of the biosensor have been attributed to the nanostructured thin nature of the films, despite recognition capability of the biomolecules used, with a strong potential to contribute for new device technologies for food analysis.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A formação de professores a distância e o acesso de crianças de seis anos à linguagem escrita através de projetos de letramento(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Ranzani, Ariane; Martins, Maria Sílvia Cintra; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9241992645160356; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8527412807113872This research aims to discuss how an e-learning course of continuing education for literacy teachers may contribute to the development of a literacy project with six-year-old children, enabling their access to writing so that it becomes an activity. Our theoretical framework is based on the concepts of activity and personal sense of the Activity Theory, developed by Leontiev (1978a, 1978b, 2006a, 2006b) from the socio-historical perspective and literacy projects of New Literacy Studies (KLEIMAN, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012; MARTINS, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012; OLIVEIRA, 2010a, 2010b; OLIVEIRA; SANTOS, 2012; TINOCO, 2008) . This study, which is based on the qualitativeinterpretative paradigm, investigates issues relating to the relevance of continuing education of literacy teachers in a virtual learning environment as a way of motivating the teachers participation and as a possibility of sharing thoughts on how (including practice and theory) and why develop educational activities, involving different discourse genres through literacy projects with six-year-old children of the first year of elementary school so that these activities make sense for all involved in this process. The results show the importance of interaction with the social and cultural environment and mediation, as a principle of organization of teacher s pedagogical activity, for the development of children in the learning process, in the use of written language. Thus, the literacy projects show another look at the pedagogical practice and teaching activities with written language, as they highlight the importance of teachers, of their knowledge (TARDIF, 2002), their mediation in organizing activities with written language, as well as allowing children to get into the activity, socially motivated, learning and using the writing language through different discursive genres.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Política de C&T e comunicação: patentes como instrumento de divulgação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Mazocco, Fabricio José; Andrade, Thales Haddad Novaes de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5882842888759363; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7934562455367253Innovation is in the agenda of political discussions and in the goals of public and private institutions, as it is becoming one of the main elements in the Science and Technology policies (S&T). The State makes an effort to expand an innovative environment, resulting in a social and economic development of the country. The patent is one of the best known indicatives of innovation. In the case of Brazil, public universities are among the main patent depositors. On the other hand, public communication is having more and more attention in academic and state discussions, for forecasting the need of a kind of communication which promotes citizenship and stimulates dialogue among the agents. Therefore, this work has the objective of analyzing the relation between S&T policies and communication, having the patent as divulging instrument. As empirical analysis, public and private institutions shall be analyzed as for the construction of patenting information and its destination, based on the premisses of public communication of science and the political definitions of S&T.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Transtorno do desenvolvimento da coordenação em crianças de 7 anos de idade matriculadas em escolas públicas do município de Araraquara-SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Jóia, Andressa Fernanda; Martinez, Claudia Maria Simões; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9098825856394800The Developmental Coordination Disorder - DCD occurs when there is delayed development of motor skills or difficulty in motor coordination, not justified by general medical conditions or intellectual disability, leading to low performance in academic, school and daily life activities. Depending on the methodology used to select and classify the participants, studies have reported prevalences which vary from 1.4 to 15% among school age children, however high prevalences have been the result of studies which doesn't consider all diagnostic criteria, applying just a motor test to identify children with DCD. The goal of this study was to identify DCD in 7-year-old children, enrolled in public schools in the city of Araraquara-SP, by means of two assessment tools - motor test and a questionnaire for the parents; identify signs of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) by means of indirect evaluation; identify the prevalence of motor difficulties between genders and find the DCDQ-Brasil cutoff point by means of Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC curve). It is a study with a quantitative, descriptive/exploratory approach. The sample was composed by 101 7-year-old schoolchildren, born between July, 2005 and January, 2006, enrolled in the city's public schools. Parents and guardians provided data on economic status, the child's performance in daily life, school and leisure activities and informed signs of ADHD, answering the following questionnaires (respectively): Critério de Classificação Econômica Brasil CPCEB; Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire DCDQ Brasil; Swanson, Nolan and Pelham IV Scale - SNAP IV. The children were evaluated through Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 MABC II. Descriptive analyses and statistical tests have been performed to verify the significance of the results. The economical statuses of the participants varied from B1 to D, representing no statistical significance. The combination of two assessment tools for DCD identification led to a 0.99% prevalence of children with severe DCD and a 2.97% prevalence of children with moderate DCD. The DCDQ-Brasil cutoff point found through the ROC curve was 49, increasing the prevalence of severe DCD to 2.97% and 4.95% for moderate DCD. Various levels of motor impairment have been identified, pointed out by the various scores of the children who presented DCD, and even though the prevalence was higher on boys, this result also did not present statistical significance. A direct correlation between signs of ADHD and moderate DCD was found, reinforcing the hypothesis of the existence of comorbidities, as well as the heterogeneity of motor difficulties demonstrated by children with DCD. This study represents one of the necessary steps in the caring for children with DCD - the identification, for further intervention referral, if necessary. It strengthens the importance of continuing investing in DCD studies in Brazil, as well as in the standardization of the DCDQ-Brasil cutoff point and the MABC-II validation for Brazilian children.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Ecologias: sobre processos educativos livres e libertários em movimentos sociais pós-modernos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Franques, Bruno Marcondes; Neiman, Zysman; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6435341856481082; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7648279479259506; Marques, Silvio Cesar Moral; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6047434055828372; Marcomin, Fátima ElizabetiApplying complexity and transdisciplinarity that the ecology of knowledge - among other systemic perspective -, this dissertation focuses on education in their studies and analysis of contemporary social movements - the transition period in which we see the values of the paradigm of modernity being questioned by these same movements already providing new perspectives which replace that - with the assumption exercising their educational role and identifying the libertarian character which pierces the new forms of organization and values set in motion by such movement, we recognizing the changing ecological perspectives to see them incorporated into the new rising paradigm, this paradigm identified as a libertarian post-modernitylistelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação institucional: o caso da UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Santos, Joelma dos; Rothen, José Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1942510389127549This dissertation aims to investigate the performance of the Self Evaluation Commission (CPA) in conjunction with the processes of institutional self-evaluation, for both make use of a case study in UFSCar that the division of institutional assessment were investigated with four undergraduate courses face of the institution, all of the São Carlos campus. To this end, this study was guided from the qualitative, so research made use of desk research, semistructured interviews, the literature review and the online questionnaire closed. Documentary research was analyzed in the legislation of public policies for higher education evaluation, the period from 1996 to 2008, and the internal regulations of the institution. For bibliographic bibliometrics, which allowed analyzing 54 studies among theses, dissertations and articles in national and international researchers who investigate thematic educational assessment. Participated in semi-structured interviews of the following actors: coordinator or deputy coordinator of each course, a former member of CPA/UFSCar, and a former member of the Organizing Committee of the Project Evaluation of Undergraduate Teaching UFSCar. Finally, the closed online questionnaire was administered to students regularly enrolled in the penultimate and last year, the teacher who teaches discipline penultimate and last, and the administrative technician investigated each course. The results achieved through the collection of data showed that there was a poor articulation of the outcomes of institutional self-evaluation that occurs in courses with the actions taken by the CPA and the Management UFSCar. To sensitize the academic community to participate in the processes of institutional assessment would need to enhance information management within the IES, so that the CPA can be known to then be recognized. The little time to build the self-assessment report on the institution does not provide time for reflection and discussion with the community. There were times that the regulatory review predominated in the institution, but there were those that prevailed in the critical evaluation in daily practice, it became evident in two courses investigated. It was found that the construction of an evaluation design is a contentious field, as there are, within the institution, social actors who want to review the ranking and classification, as there are those who want the formative and emancipatory.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Monitoramento dos avanços tecnológicos provenientes da academia(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Lopes, João Ricardo; Ferrari Júnior, Roberto; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1581806209106850; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2344799970038445Innovation generates business competitiveness and business opportunities. The corporate sector can generate innovative products and processes based on technological progress in the company, developed in academia, or developed in partnership. But as the business sector can meet the technological advances that arise in the gym? What are the relevant details? What sources of information can be found? The sources of information currently available contains relevant and sufficient information? The context of this research is the monitoring of technological advances from academia to facilitate the transfer of such advances to the business sector. Among the objectives proposed for the research are: to identify sources of information publicly available descriptions of the technological advances of the academy, and investigate these sources of information through experimental research involving extraction and analysis of data in a universe of limited research. For the experimental investigation were chosen as sources of information and the Lattes Platform Innovation Agency UFSCAR site. The research universe was defined set of technological advances produced by professors from San Carlos UFSCar campus. The interval between the years 2007 and 2012 was defined as the period of investigation. Results indicate that 907 teachers UFSCar São Carlos campus reported in Lattes 192 technological advances produced between 2007 and 2012, 89 software without registration, 58 patents, 28 technology products, 13 processes and techniques, Industrial 2 drawings 1 software with registration and 1 mark. These data were grouped by department, by district and by year of production, generating statistics. The results of analysis of descriptive information extracted from Lattes showed problems in the reliability of the data: errors, duplicity, vagueness and lack of standardization in the filling. The website of the Agency for Innovation UFSCar reported numerically, 98 patents, 12 computer programs, 12 licenses of technology, 17 international patents, trademark registrations 4, 5 and 17 cultivars protected utility models between 2008 and 2012. Fifty-three of these advances - 49 patents and 4 cultivars - were described on the website of reliable, accurate and inviting manner using textual and audiovisual resources, enabling the identification and contact with researchers. Comparing the information provided in the Lattes Platform and the Innovation Agency site, we identified in the Innovation Agency site descriptions are more reliable and effective, however cover a limited number of technological advances, restricted to patents and cultivars indicators. On Lattes descriptions of advances reported in other indicators (such as software, processes and industrial designs) can be found, but more superficial descriptions and in some cases inaccurate. This work contributes to a better understanding of how the technological advances of the academy are being monitored, it also helps to aim the Lattes Platform and the websites of Technological Innovation Centers as sources of information that can be integrated in order to enhance monitoring technological advances of the academy and encourage technology transfer to the business sector.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O encontro entre o saber de referência dos estudantes e os conteúdos de ciências no currículo da educação de jovens e adultos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Monaco, Graziela Del; Lima, Emília Freitas de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5515637339275988; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9109900743562090The Young and Adult Education (EJA) students are people who possess and produce knowledge built from their life experience and the school needs to hear, understand and use this knowledge in educational practices. Under this assumption, and aiming to contribute to discussions about the Science curriculum for EJA students, in view of the dialogue between school knowledge and students knowledge reference, this research was developed from the analysis of the students speeches, on the contents of Sciences, in elementary and high school, participating in a Young and Adult Education project in the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). The research aimed to: identify the EJA students' views about scientific knowledge and popular knowledge; Analyze, from the students´ speech, the place of scientific knowledge and their knowledge reference in the EJA curriculum. In this study the education concept has been guided by Paulo Freire´s theoretical bases on problem and dialogical education and conceived EJA as the possibility for women and men to have access to education, a right denied when they were children and adolescents. The research data was constructed from the hermeneutics methodological and theoretical foundations and obtained by means of two press conferences (one mediated by films and the other by the analysis of the Science contents) and individual interviews. The students' speeches were analyzed in two chapters. One of them turned to the analysis of students' views on the scientific and popular knowledge and discussed the relationship between theory and practice, Science and popular knowledge. The other chapter carried out the analysis about the place of scientific knowledge and the students knowledge reference in the young and adult education curriculum. It discussed the subject specificities and their knowledge about school; the place that knowledge reference occupies in the curriculum and the place of Science contents and its relationship with students knowledge reference. For students the scientific knowledge has a very important place in the curriculum for being a content highly valued by them and they consider that the knowledge reference is a starting point to learn Science. Thus, an important specificity of the Science curriculum for young and adult education is the necessary link between school knowledge and the knowledge reference brought to school by students.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Promotoras Legais Populares: avançando na luta pela igualdade de gênero e na compreensão da Educação de Jovens e Adultos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Santos, Raquel Auxiliadora dos; Mello, Roseli Rodrigues de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2092112130144594The Education of Youth and Adults (EJA) undergoes a process of paradigm change from a compensatory conception of basic education to lifelong learning. As a teaching modality, EJA needs to be understood in the broadest sense, connecting school experience with people s life and work expectations by seeking to contemplate their needs. The objective of this work is to describe and analyze one experience of EJA understood in the context of Lifelong Education: the Popular Legal Promoters Course (PLPs), which aims to train adult women to be multipliers of rights, laws and legal mechanisms in their communities. Women are still subordinate to hierarchies in different social contexts and struggle daily to uphold their rights. This research was carried out by conducting in-depth interviews with four PLPs graduated in the third group of the course in the city of Sao Carlos. Through content analysis and the Critical Communicative Methodology themes and categories were prepared highlighted in their transforming and exclusionary elements. Among the main elements of the PLPs course that contribute to EJA we have: practical utility of the content; the form of openly relation with knowledge; dialogical education; the importance of women's themes and feminism as well as multidisciplinary content. In this sense, the present dissertation focuses on the Popular Legal Promoters education as a Lifelong Education experience, which brings elements to the reformulation in the organization of EJA as a formative space that better suits women.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Inovação em serviços públicos: o caso Poupatempo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Teciano, Livia de Carvalho Gutierrez; Kerbauy, Maria Teresa Miceli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4762029784021248; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7185324347124625This paper contributes to the study of Science, Technology and Society meanwhile analyses the innovation in public services, by applying concepts of bureaucracy and innovation to public institutions. For this, the study presents a discussion of the evolution process of science in society, presenting the concept of Weber's bureaucracy correlated to the concept of Schumpeter called "creative destruction." From this context, it is shown how competition leads to a process of construction and deconstruction of new products and processes, creating new technologies and methodologies that overlap the previous ones, in a continuous process of development. It also demonstrates how, in the context of the renovation of the State, public organizations need to be constantly innovating and seeking new ways of service delivery, to ensure citizens' satisfaction and, consequently, the legitimacy of its political actors. Finally, it is analyzed the concept of bureaucracy and "creative destruction" applied to public institutions through a brief explanation of the process of reforms in the public sector in the world and in more detail in Brazil. This research was conducted with 30 participants, distributed as follows: three university professors in the field of cell biology, three university professors in the field of biology education, three special education teachers, three biology teachers of the rooms of the students, three students with disabilities visual (blindness or low vision); seers and fifteen students in a classroom of high school, five of each room of students with visual impairments participant. Data collection was conducted in three schools through interviews and questionnaire produced with semi - structured questions applied to teachers, students and visionaries students with visual impairments who have identified the suitability of the resource for use. The teaching resource was built with contrasting colors and textures, since the perceptual framework of students with total blindness and low vision are distinct. Participating teachers made a preliminary assessment of the material prior to application and review with students. The evaluation with teachers of cell biology was taken to analyze the material for their conceptual representation of the content discussed. The teachers teaching biology reviewed the material and its conceptual representation and features that can aid learning in biology courses of high school. The special education teachers have analyzed the material with regard to ease of handling, colors and shape of the structures, as well as the suitability perceptual framework of students with low vision and blindness. Students with visual impairments rated the material and characteristics that aid learning, ease of use and format of the material, ie, whether it was appropriate to their perceptual framework. Evaluation with the visionaries students is justified because the courseware is a resource that teachers can use to assist the learning process of the students present in the classroom in regular education. Thus, despite the material produced have adapted to the perceptual characteristics of referential students with visual impairments, it can also be used with students visionaries, thus favoring the search for building a democratic school. The resource was developed as an appropriate reference to the perceptual and the potential to contribute to the effective inclusion of the visually impaired. It all started from the idea that managers of healthcare organizations need to apply management tools which enable the assessment of their organizational processes, thus ensuring that the services rendered to the population have the best possible quality. In this sense, the lean healthcare system is presented as a philosophy, a management method with a set of tools which come from lean production and were introduced in healthcare scenarios as a possible alternative to change the way these organizations are managed. Given this context, nurses are presented as central professionals who seek to articulate management and assistance dimensions in healthcare, which makes maintaining the quality of services rendered dependent basically on remaining close to patients. Bringing the nursing management practice and lean methodology into focus as potential tools for process improvement led to the implementation of such methodology practices and tools in this investigation. This is an applied research, exploratory and the case study type. It is divided into three stages: 1) mapping of processes, 2) modeling of processes, and 3) practical application of lean tools and practices. In order to achieve the proposed objectives and confirm the hypothesis, the theoretical and methodological framework of Lean Healthcare was used in all stages of the research, as well as the supporting methods Business Process Modeler Notation and the Bizagi® software in the second stage and the management improvement tool Plan-Do-Check-Act in the third stage. Data analysis proceeded with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The results of the first two stages indicated that the work management process of nurses Management in Nursing Personnel Schedule should be studied in depth in the third stage. Lean principles guided the analysis of the situation encountered and the proposition of the future situation. Its practices and applied tools led to a reduction of 94% in the amount of time nurses spend on activities that were not worthwhile as well as to reducing waste inherent in their management work process. It was concluded that nurses can act effectively to promote best practices and contribute substantially to the change process in healthcare. The results are promising as they indicate a path to implement lean practices in healthcare, starting with small problems. However, the research suggests that the motivation to seek improvements must be systemic and therefore lean healthcare can be adopted as a management strategy focused on creating value for patients, improving healthcare management and assistance essentially.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Iniciação científica e tecnológica na educação superior a distância(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Silva, Daniela Salgado Gonçalves da; Gracioso, Luciana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4898201916360294; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2401064231048780Considering the low search for undergraduate research (UR) from the Distance Education (DE) students from Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), registered in the Scientific and Technological Undergraduate Research office of this University, we established a diagnosis near the population wrapped with this kind of education, on the reasons that lead to this low production of undergraduate researches, with the central objective to signal proceedings, products and services that could minimize this gap and promote bigger scientific productivity near the undergraduate students from distance education. For so much, we have done a data collection from a virtual focal group developed during the International Symposium of Distance Education and during the Investigators' Meeting in Distance Education promoting a reflection as for the involvement of these students in undergraduate research activities of their institutions. Subsequently a questionnaire had been applied near the degree course students in Pedagogy from distance education of Federal University of São Carlos, so much to complement the informations previously identified in the registers of production of UR in the University, as to validate the informations collected in the virtual focal group that disposed of the participation of different professionals from distance education and from different geographical regions from Brazil. The choice of the distance education degree course in Pedagogy as control group, fountain of data and of validation is due to the fact so much of being a degree course turned to the teachers' formation, main mark of the DE in Brazil, as because of being treated as the course with bigger number of enrolled students. We identified unknowing from these students relative to their participation on UR, as well as lack of interest of undergraduate research for lack of time, incentive and available mentors to guide them. Professionals of the area confirmed the low participation of the students of this kind of education in Brazil, confirming the hypothesis of this research.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Cenários públicos juvenis: o desenho dos Centros de Juventude nas ações da política brasileira(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-24) Barreiro, Rafael Garcia; Malfitano, Ana Paula Serrata; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1462870858750395; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1224310568760472The Youth Centers were created from a project of the federal government in the late 1990s in order to function as spaces those offer information and activities in many fields, creating a living space for young. This work, from his affiliation with the Social Occupational Therapy, aimed to understand the consonance between the actions of the Youth Centers with the proposals and guidelines of the National Youth Policy, noting that in recent years, the national public agenda gained strength from the creation of the National Youth Secretariat. To cut this research, it has chosen the state of São Paulo because of your numerical and political representation in the country. To collecting data, the Juventude.SP electronic portal has consulted, bringing official information about the services for young people in the state of São Paulo, where four municipalities were identified with spaces called "Youth Centers", namely: Barretos, Jacarei, Santos and São Carlos. In this universe, semi-structured interviews were made with different political representatives of related to youth policies: one representative of the National Secretariat for Youth, Coordinator of Youth Programs for the State of São Paulo, municipal managers and coordinators of the four Youth Centers; to understand which is established by all political today for this population. The general results on the current youth policy brought a reflection about the discourses obtained at each governmental level, through topics such as: the concepts of youth assigned by managers, the understanding of the actions those are currently performed by different levels government, the relationship of those spaces with cash transfer programs, the definition of "youth leadership" and the goal of the Youth Centers. The distance in the positions of managers stayed evident, depending on the level of action taken by each institutional space. The discourse about the actions the federal and state levels is focused on ensuring the access of specific rights for this population, contrasting the actions performed in the municipalities, pointing their political agenda guided by the social assistance. It is evident that the focus should be designed on the principles of universality and access to rights, but it is still guided primarily in the logic of the cut of social class, targeted to young poor. In this context, the Youth Centers do a little interface with the National Youth Policy, being representative of care actions, through focus policies without unfolding the principles for nationally advertised rights for all young Brazilians.
