listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Instrumento para identificação de fatores de risco e proteção à retinopatia da prematuridade em UTI neonatal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Lopes, Juliana de Fátima; Martinez, Claudia Maria Simões; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2731571773543379The Neonatal ICUs are designed for newborns at high risk, as in the case of premature infants. The environment in the NICU is a protective factor for life, but may prove to be inappropriate for the neurological development of preterm, specifically in relation to visual aspects. The aim of this study was to develop and propose a protocol for evaluating the context of the NICU, as a checklist to identify the risk and protective factors visual development of premature infants. Moreover , had the following specific objectives : Map and describe the national and international scientific literature on the Neonatal Intensive Care Units in respect of related visual development of premature variables ; Identify the risk factors and protection to the visual development of premature newborns present in neonatal intensive care units , expressed in the literature. The methodology was based on bibliometric analysis of papers retrieved on the basis of national and international data: VHL, ScienceDirect and Scopus. Bibliometric indicators analyzed under the classification into two categories were produced: Category 1 - Primary Issue (TP) and Category 2 - Issue Secondary (TS). Since the focus of this study lies in the studies classified into Primary Issue , were analyzed and categorized into the following themes : " Retinopathy of Prematurity Risk Factors , Incidence, Prevalence , Screening and Prevention " , " Retinopathy of Prematurity Treatment " , " Normal Development " , " Retinopathy of Prematurity Instrument " , " Environment and Retinopathy of Prematurity " Retinopathy of Prematurity Theory " . These studies the risk factors and protection to the visual development of preterm infants were identified. These factors allowed the construction of check list (initially with partial version and then the final version ). As most of the studies ( 97.7 % ) address on the Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) , the instrument will help identify risk and protective for the development of ROP in premature infants in the NICU context factors . It is intended in the future instruments available to professionals in neonatal ICUs, thereby preventing ROP in premature and thereby reduce the incidence and progression of disease.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Uma avaliação experimental do uso de desktops virtuais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Falvo, Marcio Rodrigo; Senger, Hermes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3691742159298316; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1973896219018141A server cluster connected to the Internet can support virtual desktops in a virtual computing environment. Each user can have his/her own virtual desktop, accessed through the Internet by means of devices such as laptop, PC, notebook, tablet or smartphone. The benefits of desktop virtualization include the possibility of improving utilization of computational resources such as processor, memory, disk and network; a more efficient management; centralized backup, and remote accessibility independently on the user location. Education institutions have traditionally used local desktops for use of faculty, administrative and technical staffs, as well as for their students. Managing these desktops requires a technical staff to take care of installation, configuration, updating and maintaining in a personalized manner, according to each user profile. In this manner, administration is costly and inefficient. Several companies increasingly adopted virtual desktops delivered by an infrastructure of centralized servers, while education institutions are late in this process. The diversity of applications used by different areas of teaching create demand for studies to better understand the performance of virtual desktop infrastructure. The purpose of this study is to evaluate virtual desktop infrastructure from the perspective of user quality of experience. To accomplish this, a virtual desktop infrastructure have been deployed at UFSCAR, and a set of experiments were carried out at our labs employing five different applications. To evaluate the influence of the networking quality of service on the user experience, we produced 5 scenarios with different communication latencies. Finally, we also executed experiments to evaluate the demand for computational resources (e.g., processor, memory, I/O, and network) as more virtual desktops are spawned. This experiment can provide important information for future capacity planning.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A prática da promoção, proteção e apoio ao aleitamento materno na perspectiva de equipes gestoras da atenção primária à saúde(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Baldan, Juliana de Moraes; Arantes, Cássia Irene Spinelli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4246837549578145; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0307077143125341Breastfeeding offers many benefits for mother, baby and Family. Its influence on child and women s health has been the focus of governmental campaigns and programs on national and global scale. The Brazilian Public Health Care System (SUS) develops initiatives to promote, protect and support Breastfeeding on health services. On primary health care, the Family Health Strategy Program has expanded the access to health care and to Breastfeeding initiatives. Health Care Networks were created to promote full care to patients. In São Paulo state, 17 Regional Health Care s Networks were implemented, organized and systematized starting from Primary Health Care Program. São Carlos city belongs to Regional Health Care s Network of number 13. The Primary Health Care Program acts as coordinator assuring full care s implementation on Regional Health Care Networks. Brazil has already programs to support Breastfeeding, but prevalence rates are below World Health Organization s expectation. Breastfeeding s success goes beyond health practitioner s individual performance. Among others aspects, there is also the responsibility of the Brazilian Public Health Care Manager, his initiatives and services on proposing, executing and following the strategies aimed to Breastfeeding. Starting from the assumptions that PHCP is the coordinator of network full care, that care and management are connected on FHSP performance and that higher education s professional teams of São Carlos USF (S) are responsible for create and manage Breastfeeding s care; this study proposes to analyze Breastfeeding s promotion, protection and support on PHCP according to the USF of São Carlos management team. It is a qualitative exploratory research where group interviews were used as data collection. The individuals were nurses, doctors and dentists responsible for executing and managing PHCP's strategies and policies. The data analysis was executed through ALCESTE software. Two thematic blocks were created: Aspects that hamper Breastfeeding , which includes the first class Early weaning's determinants and "Aspects that potentiate Breastfeeding divided in two classes: Aid and network's support to Breastfeeding and The management of Breastfeeding's care . It was evident that, even if the teams have reported the development of actions and orientations for mothers and families about Breastfeeding's practice, they have also evidenced certain impotence and frustration in front of mother's non compliance. They recognized the importance of the articulation with other health sectors, the relevance of professional updates and team meetings on care production and management. It is relevant that Breastfeeding s promotion, protection and support need to be intersectional in order to promote more resolute, humanized and full care.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Retorno ao trabalho e transtornos mentais e do comportamento: um estudo com servidores públicos municipais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Toniolo, Ana Carolina; Lussi, Isabela Aparecida de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5073426406391244In Brazil, the Mental and Behavioral Disorder ranks third in number of sickness benefits provided by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) and thus illustrate the importance of further research on the topic. The aim of this study was to know the process of return to work of municipal workers who were turned away by mental and behavioral disorders, received sickness benefit (for incapacity) and returned to work activities. Participants were seven employees of a Municipality in the State of Sao Paulo, who managed to return to work activities after being away from work for 30 days or more with a primary diagnosis of Mental and Behavioral Disorders (CID F from CID-10) in the period January 2008 to December 2012. Data collection happened in the period December 2012 to March 2013 and it accomplished through filling out a personal information and professional protocol related to the removal process and return to work and the application of a semi-structured interview which addressed questions about the process of removal and return to work. For data analysis, the technique used was Thematic Analysis. The results showed that the participants were unanimous in considering their families as the main source of support in the process of return to work activities. Regarding the reasons that led to the illness and consequent removal from work, some participants reported poor relationship with superiors and coworkers. Nevertheless, a good relationship with management and co-workers appeared to aid in the process of returning to work. The physical environment, inadequate and precarious working conditions were identified as facilitators for mental illness in workers. Participants signaled suggestions about changes in their work environments, which could make them less sick prone, and more appropriate and favorable for good employee performance. For most of the study participants there is no difference in the meaning of work in their lives prior to removal and after returning to work. The work takes on different meanings in the lives of the participants related to personal fulfillment and enjoyment, social function, means of support and space for socializing. Although all participants had undergone expert care of the INSS, none received any information or indication on the Vocational Rehabilitation Program of the INSS. It is expected that this research will contribute to the strengthening of the local network of health care worker and bring enlightenment about reinsertion of these people into the labor market and the assurance of their rights.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Na terra, no céu: os Awá-Guajá e os Outros(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Yokoi, Marcelo; Peggion, Edmundo Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9849805103860827; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0222279920585014Result of a field work among the Awá-Guajá, a Tupi-Guarani speaking people of Eastern Amazon, this dissertation focuses on the various relations of alterity that are currently being lived and experienced with the many powers that act directly and indirectly in Awá life. Are these Others, now approaching or distancing, but always present in some way, whether in speech, in memory or in action. The transformation is constant and the present study attempts to explore some of these developments whose dialogues, multiplied as they are, become essential for us to think about the Awá-Guajá politics. To this end, I go through certain paths that lead us to these agents full of enemies and/or affines: karaí (non-Indians), kamará (other Indians), awá ka a pahara (other Awá) and karawara (celestial beings). Sometimes ambiguous, these Others give the tonality of a "new indigenous politics whose contours never cease to be problematized.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Formação continuada de professores: transtorno do processamento sensorial e as consequências para o desempenho escolar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Souza, Joana Rostirolla Batista de; Toyoda, Cristina Yoshie; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5872141115382552; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5500071723727109The Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) can cause difficulties on scholar performance and behavior problems in this context, what may interfere, thus, on the full participation of the student. The teachers are on a ideal position for the recognizing of de disorder signs and can change the life of a lot of children, because the SPD are unkown in Brazil and doesn t find the diagnosis, those children must be helping the improve of the school failure statistics. On the international tendencies for the concept of inclusive education, the prepared teacher for the inclusion is that one capacitated for different pedagogic strategies, for different students. The further teacher development has been considered one of the better ways for prepare the teacher for the inclusion. The aim of this research was to evaluate the results (short and long-term) of a further teacher development intervention about the SPD and its consequences for the scholar performance. The method was exploratory-descriptive s qualitative and quantitative. The research received authorization of the Municipal Education Secretary, was approved by CEP and authorized by the school after the teacher approval. The data collection and intervention was developed in a classroom of the participant school, located on a peripheral region of a midsize city of São Paulo s State central region. The research steps where developed during six HTPC s moments (a time for pedagogic collective work) and the participants where 16 teachers and administrators responsible for the first to the fifth grade from a government college of elementary education. A pilot study previously developed with two volunteers embased the elaboration and adequation of the data collection instruments and the illustrative cases, which were used as a base for complete the instruments. For the initial collect, participants filled the self-guided interview and the pre-test sheet. After the intervention, they filled the course evaluation and the pos-test. Eight months later, it was developed the follow-up data collecttion individual for those whom cited current students with similar profiles to the illustrative cases and a general instrument for all the participants. The qualitative data analysis where realized by theoretical axis, the quantitative data where analised using the t-student test, adopting p<0,05. The results shown the effectiveness of intervention to form opinion about new and unknown topics, once it was a movement from the non-responded affirmatives to the ones correctly responded on the pos-test. However, the intervention wasn t able to modifies pre-established incorrect concepts from the initial data collection. The follow-up showed that, for the topic discussed on this constructed intervention, this kind of further development wasn t able to transform participants in prevention e action agents. That means that the further development of this research got positive short-term results, but not long-term outcome in respect to the changing attitude.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Contribuição ao estudo dos mecanismos resistentes à força cortante em lajes alveolares protendidas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Marquesi, Matheus Lorena Gonçalves; Ferreira, Marcelo de Araújo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4199122391532470; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6301049083214025In this work flexure shear and tension shear are studied. It is presented a literature review with emphasis on the major normative recommendations about the shear strength in elements without shear reinforcement. Concerning flexure shear capacity considerations are made about the tensile strength of high strength concrete by analysis of 39 experiments. This samples were collected in the literature and are presented herein. Furthermore, it is proposed to consider the variable influence of prestressing on the shear strength. With respect to tension shear, it is proposed the coefficient b, which seeks to improve the traditional models considering indirectly the influence of shear stresses in transmission length. 49 international experiments are analyzed to validate this coefficient and it is concluded that the modified models show significant improvements. Yet developed an experimental program were tested 15 hollow core slabs varying the distance between the edge of the slab and its nearest support. All failures were by tension shear. The transmission length established by NBR14861 was considered adequate for the tested slabs by correlation with tension shear test results.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Influência da presença de líquidos iônicos no comportamento térmico, termo-mecânico e nas propriedades de transporte em membranas de policarbonato obtidas via casting(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Oliveira, Lucas Mendonça da Rocha; Silva, Caio Marcio Paranhos da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7793686262868668; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9333712244430151New alternatives to the use of polymeric membranes as solid electrolyte in fuel cells have been considered , in order to find solutions to recurrent obstacles that limit the performance of these cells, the dependence of the ionic transport due to the water content of the membrane and low thermal stability of the current polymers used . In this investigation, we sought an alternative, by studying the incorporation of imidazolium salts into polycarbonate (PC) matrix and the subsequent formation of membranes via casting. Characterizations that aimed to establish structure-property correlations by FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMTA, Water Vapor Permeation (WVT), Sorption and Desorption and Methanol Permeation were performed. The results indicated that the presence of different ionic liquids (IL) into the PC matrix significantly alter the structural and membrane transport characteristics analyzed.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Uma análise macroeconômica da tendência da pós-graduação: um estudo sobre a UFMG(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Araujo, Juliana Borges de; Silva Junior, João dos Reis; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7470123176068422; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7068954409763475The objective of this thesis was to analyze changes in the graduate level program of education at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) Brazil, between 2000 and 2010 after Brazil adopted a new model of economic development, characterized by financial dominance accumulation which has served to position Brazil in the globalized economy. The time frame analyzed in this thesis was a milestone period for the Brazilian public university system at large and UFMG, especially at the graduate level. Changes in graduate education programs which occurred during this period played a strategic role in establishing a platform for financial capital accumulation and economic development within Brazil. This movement of graduate education program development led to the implementation by Brazil of a set of State initiated public policies that caused science, technology and innovation research to become a high priority focus within the public university system of Brazil. This served to create a central and highly relevant obligation imposing new demands on the Brazilian public university with regard to graduate level education programs serving as the locus for knowledge production at Brazilian higher education public institutions. This positioned the Brazilian public higher education system as a significant public policy instrument toward meeting increasing demands of the private sector of Brazil for science, technology and innovation development. This study undertook to demonstrate how the macroeconomic policies implemented during the period of study produced consequences in higher education, more specifically, at the graduate level. This was accomplished by analyzing the case of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The data obtained for this study allowed for observation of a remarkable expansion of graduate level education during the analyzed period, brought about as a result of the public policy for higher education to focus on science, technology and innovation, with the goal to consolidate the National Innovation System in Brazil. The conditions discussed and analyzed in this study reveal the existence of a graduate system of education that has been reformulated as a result of governmental policy to increase the number of researchers in strategic areas in accordance with the Industrial and Science, Technology and Innovation policies of Brazil, reflecting the economic demands of the industrial and financial sectors of the country. The economic realignment produced during the analyzed period generated consequences for higher education within Brazil causing significant changes in the organization and functioning of the public university system of Brazil, especially at the graduate education level. These changes brought about commercialization of academic research and an orientation toward academic productivity for the benefit of the Brazilian economy. This also resulted in a culture change within Brazilian public institutions of higher education with regard to scientific production.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise da eficiência energética e otimização de secadores rotativos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Leonel, Edimilson Cândido; Corrêa, Ronaldo Guimarães; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2326265899301693Energy Efficiency and optimization of dryers are research areas with environmental concerns. These areas have the increasing need to improve the energy performance of processes through to quality improvement and reduction of production costs. In this sense, this work aims to contribute to the development of more efficient drying processes, take account the fact that this is one of the unit operations of higher energy consumption. Using a mathematical model for a direct-heating rotary dryer, computational simula¬tions were performed and the comparation with experimental results show that this model is reliable with the drying process. The model was implemented in order to simulate the rotary drier with concurrent and countercurrent feeding. Thus, the energetic differences between the two operations were compared and discussed. For the studies of the energy performance of rotary dryers, two definitions of Energy Efficiency were used: an expression quite common in the literature, and largely used in drying procedures, and another expression that was proposed from the observation of energetical quantities related to the process. The advantages and disadvantages of each defition are presented and the results contribute to the discussion on the assessment of Energy Efficiency in convective dryers. Parametric Sensitivity studies have quantified the influence that certain process va¬riables have on measures of Energy Efficiency and Final Moisture Content of Product. These results showed that these variables play an important role in both the Energy Ef¬ficiency and Final Moisture Content of Product, being necessary to establish appropriate operational limits to the range of variation to these variables, in order to satisfy the best operational conditions for the two rotary dryers. The results also showed significant dif¬ferences between concurrent and countercurrent operations. In addition, the Parametric Sensitivity analisys serve as a base for optimization studies. The results from the optimization of rotary dryers showed that is possible to im¬proving the Energy Efficiency without decrese the quality of the final product, and also the possibility of simultaneous improvement of both the Energy Efficiency as the Final Moisture Content of Product. It was possible to establish, for each dryer, mathematical relations between optimum Efficiency and desired Final Moisture Content of Product. These results are very interesting and represent an important contribution to the study of rotary dryers.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desempenho em vocabulário, leitura e escrita: prematuridade como fator associado(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Lima, Débora Corrêa de; Martinez, Claudia Maria Simões; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3095182102118636Learning to read is preceded by the acquisition of vocabulary, and premature birth is a risk factor for the delayed development of language. However, few studies have investigated the association between prematurity and delays in expanding vocabulary and learning to read and write. The present study was conducted with 20 students, aged 5 years 8 months to 6 years 6 months, 10 of whom were born late preterm and 10 were born full term. Their receptive and expressive vocabulary was initially assessed. A computerized program was then implemented to expand vocabulary and teach reading and writing. The late preterm students average gestational age was 35 weeks, and their average birth weight was 2,450 g. The full term students gestational age was 39 weeks, and their average birth weight was 3,146 g. The predominant classification of nutritional status among the students was appropriate for their gestational age and weight. The results showed similar performance between late preterm students and full term students in receptive skills, such as expressive vocabulary, which was lower than expected for their ages. In expansive vocabulary, all of the students achieved 100% accuracy in the selection of figures. In the picture-naming task, late learners who were born preterm had higher scores than those born full term (93% vs. 76%). None of the students read or wrote (dictation) any of the words presented in the pretest. In the post-test, we found the partial emergence of reading and speaking repertoires among the students. The two groups read 50% and 40% of the words correctly and wrote 29% and 12% of the words correctly, respectively. Therefore, the performance of late preterm students was higher compared with full term students in both reading and writing. Prematurity is a multifactorial event, and other factors may have potentially interfered with linguistic development in these children. Regardless of the condition of their birth, all of the students scored below the expected range for typical development in word recognition and naming. The correlation that was observed in the post-test confirmed the predictive relationship described in the literature between receptive vocabulary and reading acquisition in late preterm and full term infants and expressive vocabulary acquisition and writing in late preterm infants. Differences were found between oral reading among late preterm students and receptive reading (or recognition) among full term students. Similar to writing, speaking was correlated with expressive vocabulary only among late preterm students. These results strongly suggest the need to implement and maintain literacy interventions in the study participants using different classes of verbal operants that feature oral language.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Torres de sela Scherk com gênero par arbitrário em R^3(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Hancco, Alvaro Julio Yucra; Villagra, Guillermo Antonio Lobos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6962956853017869; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7678327516942131Starting from works by Scherk (1835) and by Enneper-Weierstraß (1863), new minimal surfaces with Scherk ends were found only in 1988 by Karcher (see [16, 17]). In the singly periodic case, Karcher s examples of positive genera had been unique until Traizet obtained new ones in 1996 (see [41]). However, Traizet s construction is implicit and excludes towers, namely the desingularisation of more than two concurrent planes. Then, new explicit towers were found only in 2006 by Martin and Ramos Batista (see [24]), all of them with genus one. For genus two, the first such towers were constructed in 2010 (see [40]). Back to 2009, implicit towers of arbitrary genera were found in [11]. In our present work we obtain explicit minimal Scherk saddle towers, for any given genus 2k, k ≥ 3, that we denote ST2k. We also present the MATLAB and Evolver programming that make it possible to generate the surfaces ST2k. MATLAB is an abbreviation forMatrix Laboratory, a program developed and distributed by MathWorks. Evolver is a free iterative program developed by Kenneth A. Brakke, a professor at Susquehanna University (see [3, 34]).listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Redução de lead time em ambiente de fabricação sob encomenda por meio da abordagem Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Chinet, Fernanda Silva; Godinho Filho, Moacir; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6136685270563354; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2998343006578389In the latest decades, companies have faced important and increasing challenges set by globalization in product markets and production factors. This way, consumers become highly demanding and are always searching for new products, highly qualified, customized and quickly produced. Given these changes, the speed of delivery and therefore the efforts to reduce lead time emerges as one of the main objectives adopted by a company to compete in the market, since the strategies based in time aim to provide faster answers to its customers. In this context, the present paper aims to describe a proposal to reduce the lead time from the application of the concepts and methodology tools Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) in a capital good sector s company. In order to achieve the proposed objective, a literature review about the QRM methodology and POLCA system and a case study in a company that develops and manufactures machinery and custom made equipment. Thus, it was analyzed the main causes of the waiting in the manufacturing of pressure vessels process, and through improvement proposals, it was achieved the results and gains expected. The main results, other than the 40% reduction in lead time, are related to quality improvement, increase of process responsibility in the manufacturing and simplifying the production control.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Identificação, expressão recombinante e caracterização de uma cisteíno peptidase de Diaphorina citri, inseto vetor da doença Huanglongbing(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Ferrara, Taíse Fernanda da Silva; Fuentes, Andrea Soares da Costa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1515264534466259Brazil is a major exporter of oranges in the world, with the state of São Paulo, the largest citrus producer in the country. In the last years plants of the genus citrus have been strongly affected by various diseases and among them, the disease Huanglongbing (HLB) have occupied prominent role and importance due to the devastating damage caused to citrus production worldwide. Caused by Candidatus Liberibacter spp., a bacterium that colonizes and blocks the conductive vessels of elaborated sap (phloem) and transmitted by the vector, hemiptera, the psyllid Diaphorina citri. In this context, it is necessary to search for strategies to control the disease in citrus orchards. In order to identify a cysteine peptidase D. citri, in this work, the identification, recombinant expression and characterization of a cysteine peptidase D. citri, the type (cathepsin B) called DiaciCATHB was performed. The identification of an ORF for cysteine peptidase was performed using the database of the transcriptome of D. citri. Recombinant expression was performed in Pichia pastoris yeast cells. For activation of the recombinant enzyme important factors were observed, acidic conditions and incubation in suitable temperature and time. Kinetic characterization of the enzyme was verified by hydrolysis of the synthetic substrate Z-Phe-Arg-MCA, resulting in a (km) of 15.7 mM. Inhibition of the enzymatic activity tests were conducted using the recombinant inhibitor of cysteine peptidases CaneCPI-4, resulting in the inhibition constant (Ki) of 0.05 nM. The analysis of gene expression DiaciCATHB demonstrated that gene expression occurs in all stages of insect development, there is however a significant difference in expression level. According to the developmental stages of the insect D. citri, the expression level gradually increases DiaciCATHB, being higher in nymph and adult stages. The present results do not prove that the location and function performed by the enzyme DiaciCATHB, but regardless, the cysteine peptidase in this study has the potential to become an important target for use in future studies on insect control.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A prática de registro dos terapeutas ocupacionais na educação inclusiva(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Bombarda, Tatiana Barbieri; Palhares, Marina Silveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2203512055609330; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8070700589653226The participation of occupational therapists in inclusive education has been constituted as a field in progress in the country with intervention not only focused in the student, but extended to the school, teachers, classmates and family. The records of these interventions are as important as understanding the practices developed, since this procedure is a fundamental part of the work. Considering that there is no standard methods to document the services of occupational therapy, it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that regardless of the method, the action of the record comes from the need to have information deriving from the assistance as a way of orientation and follow up inspection over the service provided and about the technical responsibility adopted, and being also a supplier source for research data. Glimpsing the importance of documentation, this study was aimed to identify, according to the opinion of the occupational therapists in the state of São Paulo who work in inclusive education, how the records of their interventional practices are performed. Methodologically a questionnaire was provided in a specific web site during a predetermined period and the obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The participants were 55 occupational therapists who work in the process of inclusive education and registered in the 3rd Region of the Regional Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The results show that the free narrative style can be considered the most used model in registering information, with responses (35.7 %) affirming that there is not the practice of recording all interventions. The lack of availability of time for the records within the routine work was also indicated by 60.7 % of the participants. Over half of the interviewed mentioned that the school institution had received some form of intervention from another occupational therapist, where 80.6% of the cases have documentation about this work, and 48 % of these notes were indicated by participants as not containing sufficient information to understanding and continuance. It is believed that this study allowed views of praxis, signaling new points to be investigated, which consequently, could contribute to improvements in the quality of records and also in the improvement of the profession.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Educação, pedagogia e psicologia no pensamento educacional de Carlos da Silveira 1916 1923(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Chiari, Camila Maria; Rothen, José Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1942510389127549; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6067211301030895This research carried out in the context of the history of National Education has its beginning in middle normal school-oriented issues, more specifically the regular school of São Carlos- SP. Valuable teaching-learning space that allowed the formation of teachers during a long time in our country, covered by the prestige that stands out among the other educational institutes in the region. The understanding of this teacher training process allows you to describe the intellectual elite of São Paulo State, because many of the graduates in the capital migrated inland in order to occupy the chairs of teachers available in normal schools. Not unlike this, the Secondary Normal School of San Carlos was also very well represented by these intellectuals as an example Professor Carlos da Silveira who occupied important chair at the Escola Normal de São Carlos from 1911 to 1921. Therefore, this dissertation aims to analyze the educational ideas of Brazilian Carlos da Silveira educator looking to capture through its conceptions of education, pedagogy and psychology the disclosure of its ideals and the ideals of the new school in Brazil during the period from 1916 to 1923. The research appeared in the midst of the work which I participated as a training in the project "Pedagogical ideas in motion in the formation of teachers at Escola Estadual Dr. Álvaro (1930-1969): an analysis of his bibliographic collection and documentation". The documentary and bibliographic collection of the Normal School of San Carlos made know the history of Brazilian education, and drew attention in particular to the investigative wealth it found. The frequent presence of Carlos da Silveira in the Normal School of San Carlos sparked the search for greater understanding of this great Brazilian educator and intellectual, which despite its vast publishing material, has no in-depth studies about his life and works. Sen devoted himself to education and to promote his educational ideas by publishing them in magazines, newspapers etc. This fact opens the search for a productive research, that involves to gather their articles to understand the ideas he espoused. The relevance of this research consists in the (re) discovery of records fundamental to the reconstruction and understanding of the history of Brazilian public school and, even more, for the (re) construction of the history of National Education.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O papel do professor de educação especial na proposta do coensino(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Zerbato, Ana Paula; Mendes, Enicéia Gonçalves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6168650722355220The collaborative teaching or co-teaching is a specific service delivery option in which a general educator and a specialized one share the responsibility for planning, instruction and evaluation of teaching for a heterogeneous group of students. This support service arose as an alternative to the Multifunctional Resources Room (SRM), special classes or special schools work, has been adopted in many countries and has been pointed out as one of the most promising support services to facilitate the education of students with disabilities in regular classrooms of General Education settings. In Brazil, this type of service is still little known, mainly because it has not been recommended by the Special Education Policy, which has prioritized the support of a regular extra-class specialized teacher, through what has been called specialized educational (AEE) services, offered in resources room. This study, conducted in a town upstate São Paulo which has implemented a support service based on the co-teaching model since 2011, aimed at defining the role of Special Educators within coteaching approach according to the perspective of multiple agents heard in the process of school inclusion, namely: General Educators, Special Educators, coordinators, principals, vice-principals, parents and students. For this descriptive study, were interviewed 21 people (six General Education teachers, four Special Education teachers, six parents of students with disabilities, three principals, one vice-principal and one educational coordinator) from five schools adopting this service model. The presented results describe, among other things, the challenges of teaching Special Education students in general classrooms, the perceptions of the school agents about co-teaching, the ways co-teaching is developed considering their reality and how these agents define the role of Special Educators and General Educators based on the co-teaching approach. Overall data corroborate the literature on co-teaching since participants evaluated positively this service provision model. It is expected that this research fosters openness for analysis and reflections on the different existing support services toward school inclusion in regular schools, as well as it contributes for a greater clarity in the roles and responsibilities of Special Educators for the improvement of the educational work within co-teaching perspective.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A suave voz do sexo: as mutações no discurso da sexualidade no jornal Mulherio (1981-1988)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Gonzaga, Juliane de Araujo; Sargentini, Vanice Maria Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1406919572611392; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1306577789092840Cette recherche porte sur l analyse des discours dans le domaine de la sexualité, produits par une presse féministe : le journal Mulherio. The specific objectives included: the possibilities and challenges perceived by teachers working in SEM; investigation as to how the educators felt and acted in the face of difficulties encountered in educational practice; and evaluation, according to the existing continuing education, offered by the Department of Education through the Center for Excellence in Education - Don Jose Lambertt. Four teachers, working in multifunctional features, participated in this study. The procedures used were: semistructured interviews, participant observation, records from field diaries and document research. The results were analysed based on four axes: the profile of teachers of specialized educational services (AEE), subsequent to their initial training offered by Pedagogy courses; the challenges and possibilities facing teachers within Specialized Educational Services (ESA), in the Multi-Functional Room Appeal (SRM); the articulation between the meaning of skilled labor and teaching practices; and the perceptions of on-going education promoted by the Department of Education (SEDU) / Reference Center for Education (CRE). These axes have some major aspects, some of which have been highlighted: the importance of continuing education, according to the teachers interviewed; and the contribution and limitations of this proposal in terms of their teaching practices, in the use of multi-functional rooms. In conclusion, despite the weaknesses of continuing educational programs for teachers of SRMs, there have still been major advances and the participants themselves recognize how these formations can influence the way we act towards the obstacles encountered in the daily lives of SRMs.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Programação de ensino em dança educativa voltada a crianças com deficiência física(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-02-25) Rossi, Patrícia; Munster, Mey de Abreu Van; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7861049737421476; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9630189850426302It is possible to identify, in scientific literature, many studies involving physically disabled people and dance in different contexts (educational, rehabilitation, artistic and sports) and various purposes (pedagogical, therapeutic, performing and competitive). However, there is little research involving dance and physically disabled children in pedagogical purposes. In order to fill these gaps, this study has as its theme the development and analysis of an educational dance program with pedagogical purpose focused on physically disabled children, irrespective of etiology, and centered on the teaching process evaluation. The general objective was to investigate the effects of a teaching program in the process of learning educational dance on physically disabled children. The specific objectives were: 1) to systematize, apply, describe and evaluate an educational dance program for physically disabled children, 2) to establish evaluation criteria focused on the teaching and learning process of educational dance to be used as parameters for continued analysis, 3) to examine the physically disabled children s progress during educational dance program, 4) to verify the levels of support needed by the participants during the program; 5) to verify which aspects analyzed by the rating instrument in dance program had more or less influence on such children. The developed research had both quantitative and qualitative approaches, characterized as an experimental research of within-subject BAB design. The sample consisted of four children three males and one female with an age range between nine and fourteen, whose common characteristic is physical disability of different etiologies. The data collection instruments applied were: 1) Educational Dance Learning Follow Up Instrument ( Instrumento de Acompanhamento da Aprendizagem em Dança Educativa IAADE ), developed by the researcher and completed at the end of each session, supported by filming; and 2) field diary, containing the record of observations made by the researcher during the educational dance program. The educational dance program was developed empirically based on the theoretical approach of Rudolph Laban, considering the pedagogical perspective. The program had duration of 12 weeks, including two weekly classes of 50 minutes each, adding up to 24 sessions. Data analysis was performed quantitatively and qualitatively, based on contents analysis. The results shown by IAADE demonstrated improvement in student s dance skills during period B, while during period A the results remained unaltered, confirming that the students were able to preserve/maintain their previous acquisitions. The data obtained from the field diary showed students had intensified their interpersonal relationships, demonstrating attitudes of friendship and companionship. Regarding the Educational Dance Program, it was observed that the skills which demonstrated significant improvement were: laterality, clapping rhythm and movement, directions exploration (forward, backward and sideways) and the space levels (low, medium and high). The educational dance program for physically disabled children, centered on teaching process and with pedagogical purpose, was considered efficient with regard to the improvement of the participants related skills during the intervention phase of the program.
