Item type:Item, Experimento de Galileu do plano inclinado em sala de aula(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-14) ;Santos, Max Luiz de Oliveira ;Studart Filho, Nelson ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0451310772113076https://lattes.cnpq.br/2717135056341511This work aims to make a suited reconstruction from the classic experiment of the inclined plane, attributed to Galileo Galilei. The intention is to apply it to high school classes, claiming that it might motivate these students to learn concepts related to physics, and should be able to better understand the subjective nature of what is behind the science and its construction process. It is intended to perform the experiment and guide the activities in order that the activities that students can better understand scientific knowledge as a result of human construction, as well as its inherent limitations, realizing that the science development is based on model making and experimentation, among others, which can be modified along the time. The discussion and investigation of the assumptions made by the great physicist, in the elaboration of the theory of falling bodies, and their validity, may result in rich discussions of scientific development. Students may discuss the possibility of adoption and acceptance of misconceptions in science, and what implications these have for the development of scientific theories. The work analyzes the measurement of time of ball bearings on the inclined plane, evaluating the primitive methods that Galileo could have used to reach its conclusions regarding this type of movement. The dissertation also approaches modern methods, as for example, the measurements of falling objects using a tape recorder of a microcomputer, and finally both time measurement procedures are discussing emphasizing historical and modern discussion of both forms, comparing historical and modern aspects in the development of science. Performed activities, finalize the work with the results of the project and its completion, prospects of continuity, assessing the feasibility of its use as an educational product that can serve as a tool in the process of teaching and learning in high school and used by other teachers in other contexts.Item type:Item, Comportamento de busca de informação na internet: inclusão digital, modelos conceituais e estudo exploratório(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-14) ;Abe, Veridiana ;Furnival, Ariadne Chloe Mary ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1291482506649810https://lattes.cnpq.br/0586494590304245ABSTRACT The information search behavior of users of Internet rooms located at the Center for Scientific and Cultural Dissemination of the Chemistry Institute of the University of São Paulo (CDCC-USP) and at the Social Service of Commerce (SESC), both located in the city of São Carlos, was analyzed. These locations were chosen because they are institutions that promote free access to the community, constituting institutions that are active in the process of digital inclusion. With different objectives – the CDCC prioritizes school activities for elementary and high school students – while the SESC has as one of its missions the promotion of leisure – both are initiatives to combat digital exclusion in the city. The analysis of the information search behavior of users sought to identify the overall search strategy used, including the use of search syntax and semantics, the sources of information and the uses of the Internet. Sixty-one questionnaires with closed and open questions were applied, consisting of an exploratory survey. In the national literature on Information Science, there are few studies that focus on information search behavior on the Internet, and only recently has a movement in favor of information education programs begun. Studies of this nature are welcome to contribute to the development of public policies for digital inclusion that aim to create conditions for access and that, simultaneously, contemplate the development of information literacy, so that users are able to critically evaluate sources and information retrieved in electronic environments, using them to meet their needs. International literature discusses the difficulty users encounter when they need to express what they want on the Internet in terms of the system's language. Some results of this research, although not conclusive, provided evidence that users have little familiarity with the Internet, perform 1 or 2 searches and use few terms in the formulation of the search expression, even though they retrieve the information they need.Item type:Item, Respostas de Scenedesmus bijugus a nanopartículas de TiO2 em concentrações ambientalmente relevantes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-16) ;Mariano, Daniela da Silva ;Lombardi, Ana Teresa ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6737850858443813https://lattes.cnpq.br/0725648167756426Phytoplankton cells are base of aquatic food webs, so supporting higher trophic levels and helping equilibrium maintenance in such ecosystems. As residues, nano-TiO2 particles reach aquatic environments where they pose risks to the biota. Literature is controversial about the toxicity of nanoparticles to phytoplankton in general and most data obtained so far has been based on nanoparticles concentrations well above those estimated to occur in natural aquatic environments. Because nanoparticles size vary according to its concentrations, and its toxicity and reactivity are largely dependent on its size, investigations of nanoparticles toxicity at environmentally relevant concentrations are important for the understanding of these compounds onto phytoplankton cells. On the contrary, investigations using higher concentrations can be meaningless. This study aimed at investigating the effects of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nano-TiO2) at environmentally relevant concentrations (5.10-9 to 5.10- 6 mol L-1) on the freshwater Chlorophyceae Scenedesmus bijugus. We present data of a systematic investigation onto the effects of TiO2 nanoparticles to Scenedesmus bijugus focusing on its physiology under controlled laboratory conditions. We evaluated cell density, chlorophyll a concentrations, growth rates, photosynthetic quantum yield of PSII (continue...)Item type:Item, Zoneamento geoambiental analítico da bacia do Rio Clarinho a partir da técnica de avaliação de terreno, na escala 1:50.000(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-16) ;Guerrero, João Vitor Roque ;Lollo, José Augusto de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8987677644041247https://lattes.cnpq.br/4923798452806393Nowadays, the disorderly way in what happens the human occupation on the physical environment, generates serious environmental, social and economic problems. In order to assuage these problems, many works in the geosciences area concerns with this subject, trying to mitigate these processes, mainly from the territorial planning. The most commonly tool used for territorial planning is the geo-environmental zoning, consisting of, from a prior knowledge of the local physical environment, defining areas of interest, where it may propose limitations and potential for its use and occupation. In this context, this work aimed to generate a chart of analytical geo-environmental zoning of the Rio Clarinho watershed (Brazil) on the scale of 1:50.000. The basin is located in the northeast of the state of São Paulo and presents area of 40.87 km ². The proposed zoning had as a major factor the relief forms of the area, from the technique known as the Land Evaluation. This technique analyzes the forms of relief (landforms), since they are reflections of the natural processes acting on the materials of the earth's surface and, therefore, should reflect the conditions thereof, providing conditions that are proposed and the potential restrictions on use and occupation of the área. As a result, the geoenvironmental zoning of Rio Clarinho chart was generated and pointed to five geoenvironmental units, where proposals for potential and limitations of land use according to the characteristics of the physical environment were presented.Item type:Item, Influência do comportamento das ligações na estabilidade de estruturas mistas de aço e concreto(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-16) ;Pulido, Antonio Carlos ;Nardin, Silvana de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5587716781980132https://lattes.cnpq.br/4972734653751014The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the rigidity of the beam-tocolumn connections as well as the transference of forces among the structural components in steel-concrete composite structures. to do this, data regarding the Moment vs. Rotation curve behavior of a concrete filled beam-to-column connection, previously evaluated on a different work was used for comparison. The experimental value of rigidity was inserted into models of plane frames and tridimensional models, in a way that the global stability parameters can be evaluated according to the rotational stiffness of the beam-to-column connections. In order to evaluate the stability, was led in consideration the ABNT NBR 8800:2008 Brazilian code recommendations. For the numeric simulations, the software SAP 2000® was used, in which it was simulated a plane frame model with ten floors, and also a tridimensional frame, varying the number of floors. Once constructed the numerical models, for the plane frame comparative analysis were performed study of the redistribution of forces, of consumption of steel and stability considering that the beam-to-column connections represented in the models, simulate the following situations regarding the system stiffness: rigid and semi-rigid connections and also ratios of experimental stiffness. For the tridimensional model, besides the variation of the stiffness connection the influence of number of floors on the parameters of stability and distribution of forces on structural elements was also analyzed in the present study. The results showed that the stiffness of the beam-to-connections alters the distribution of forces, and that the variation on the number of floors have influence on the global stability parameter. However, it is possible to design structures with semi-rigid beam-to-column connections respecting the normative limits for the parameters of stability and reducing the consumption of steel in the form of profiles.Item type:Item, Contribuição ao estudo do fosfogesso comparativamente a algumas propriedades do gesso mineral(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-16) ;Brondino, João Ailton ;Sales, Almir ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7377787166073311https://lattes.cnpq.br/8779879054684967The phosphogypsum is calcium sulfate (gypsum chemical), generated as waste in industrial production of phosphoric acid, the main raw material for the production of phosphate fertilizers. Is generated on a large scale, and to produce one ton of phosphoric acid are generated many tons of phosphogypsum, depending on the composition of the phosphate rock used. In Brazil are generated annually million tons and disposed in landfill or dumpsites sites without suitable destination for the volume generated, which represents a major environmental liability and worsens, progressively, with the need for increased food production. Thus, this research aimed to determine a relationship between temperature and phosphogypsum the calcination time, to study the possibility of adapting their use in construction. For this, calcined phosphogypsum samples were produced with different combinations of temperature and time, and, then were used in the preparation of the molded specimens. These were evaluated in mechanical tests (compressive strength and tensile strength in bending) and physical (water absorption). The best combination of temperature and calcination time was 159°C and 120 minutes, results that expressed the highest mechanical resistance to bending and compression, and the water absorption index met the Brazilian standards adopted in the recommendations for blocks concrete and blocks ceramic. The scientific contribution of this work will be important not only for building, but for the sustainability of the planet, because an industrial waste that is generated in large quantities, can become raw material for the production of building components for buildings, will avoid the need of new controlled landfill sites for its disposal and also, where an industrial residue replaces a raw material, it is noteworthy that, besides the use and eliminate waste landfills, we will stop exploring the raw material replaced, prolonging the "lifespan" the same and/or preserving of areas exploration.Item type:Item, Estomias gastrointestinais em crianças e adolescentes: experiência da família(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-18) ;Zacarin, Clara Ferraz Lazarini ;Dupas, Giselle ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9461883918498554https://lattes.cnpq.br/5834740172551422Gastrointestinal stoma are openings in the skin that enable the extracorporeal communication of the stomach or intestine to gain access to the body when there is need to divert traffic from the normal supply or disposal. The ostomy of the gastrointestinal tract in children are part of malignancies, benign, inflammatory, congenital or traumatic treatments. Having a stoma in childhood and/or adolescence makes physical and psychological changes, because of organic immaturity, and affects the body integrity, social interaction and quality of life. Caring for a child with ostomy brings impacts to the family and generates hard demand of permanent and specific care. This study aimed to understand the experience of families with children and adolescents who have gastrointestinal stomas. Qualitative approach was used, in light of Symbolic Interactionism as a theoretical framework and the methodological framework of Narrative Analysis. For data collection, were used conducted interviews by guiding questions and during the same interviews were made the construction of the genogram and ecomap to characterize the family . Interviews were conducted with 16 families, 12 with children and 4 with adolescents with gastrointestinal stoma using outpatient nutritional or ostomy services. In six families the children had intestinal stomas and ten had gastrostomy. The analysis process has resulted in 6 themes and categories: 1. Impact of unexpected illness (Facing the stoma as a consequence / Senso undergone a many procedures); 2 Acceptation of the ostomy (having difficulty accepting the stoma / Leaving reach the limit); 3 - Changes in family life (Adapting to the managements of the devices / Leaving aside the social life); 4 - Helplessness on the walk (having superficial support / Living with prejudice); 5 - Benefits of ostomy; 6 - Search the social reintegration (Seeing the power social interaction / Waiting for reversal). The results of this study allowed us to understand that the family of the child or adolescent with gastrointestinal stoma goes through a process of progressive experience and acceptance of the condition of the child, which starts with the impact of the diagnosis of unexpected illness. Feelings like fear and insecurity are evidenced by distancing and denial of the need to make the stoma. After the acceptance and learning period, the family notice the clinical and health improves of the child, but goes through prejudice situations and alienation of the extended family, difficulties in maintaining employment, and maternal burden in the care of the ostomy´s son. The support network is reduced and there is only strengthened ties among members of the nuclear family. Even before the difficulties the family has a positive view of the stoma, but crave reenter the child/adolescente in society through the stoma reversal in the case of intestinal and through oral feeding, at the gastrostomy, even when it is permanent. The results of this study make it possible to broaden our understanding of the experience, which in turn improves the care of these families, Being a breakthrough for the field of nursing.Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento de métodos eletroanalíticos empregando o eletrodo de diamante dopado com boro para a determinação simultânea de edulcorantes e corantes em produtos alimentícios(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-18) ;Deroco, Patrícia Batista ;Fatibello Filho, Orlando ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9859737944357808https://lattes.cnpq.br/2854556276459563In this work, three electroanalytical proceduces were developed for simultaneous determination of sweeteners (aspartame (AS) and acesulfame-K (AK)) and colorants (sunset yellow (SY), indigo carmine (IC) and allura red (AR)) in food samples using a boron-doped diamond electrode (BDD). AS and SY pair was determined with no need of previous separation in a 0.30 mol L-1 H2SO4 solution with BDD electrode anodically pretreated and using multiple pulses amperometry (MPA) with flow injection analysis system (FIA). The sequence of double-potential waveform with time dependence, previously optimized, was Edea = +1.30 V / 150 ms (pulse potential at which occurs only SY oxidation) and Edet.2 = +1.70 V / 200 ms (pulse potential at which the oxidation of both analytes, AS and SY, occurs). The analytical curves showed linearity from 0.25 a 25.0 ^mol L-1, with detection limit (LD) of 0.04 ^mol L-1 for both analytes. Subsequently, the analytical determination of IC and AR was carried out in a 0.30 mol L-1 H2SO4 solution with BDD electrode cathodically pretreated using FIA-MPA. The dual-potential waveform was the following: Edeu = +0.75 V / 200 ms (pulse potential at which occurs only IC oxidation) and Edet2 = +1.10 V / 50 ms (pulse potential at which the oxidation of both analytes, IC and AR, occurs). The analytical curves were linear from 0.070 to 1.0 ^mol L-1 for IC and 0.040 to 0.77 ^mol L-1 for AR, with LDs of 40 nmol L-1 and 7.0 nmol L-1, respectively. The analytical frequencies for each method were 120 and 153 determinations per hour for AS and SY pair and for IC and AR pair, respectively. Another procedure was developed for determination of AS and AK sweeteners using a BDD electrode anodically pretreated and differential pulse voltammetry in a 0.30 mol L-1 H2SO4 solution. The analytical curves presented linearity from 4.4 to 110 ^mol L-1 for AS and from 0.39 to 7.6 mmol L-1 for AK and LDs obtained for AS and AK were 1.6 ^mol L-1 and 0.28 mmol L-1, respectively. Finally, all these proposed methods were successfully applied in analysis of food samples containing the pairs of (AS and SY or IC and AR or AS and AK). The obtained results were satisfactory and similar to those obtained using comparative HPLC methods at a confidence level of 95%.Item type:Item, Avanços e desafios na implementação da autogestão em empreendimentos solidários fomentados por políticas públicas municipais em São Carlos/SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-24) ;Fajardo, Rita de Cássia Arruda ;Bento, Paulo Eduardo Gomeshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/9444050593360251This thesis, aims to identify changing and excluding elements in the solidarity economy management process, together with a group of workers of solidarity economic enterprises, promoted by the local public policy of solidarity economy, seeking ways to improve the daily practice of management. An introduction with the contextualization of the theme, a literature review on self-management in solidarity economy groups and a characterization of the public policy of solidarity economy, focused in São Carlos/SP, were performed. The methodology used for conducting the present research was the Critical Communicative Methodology (CCM), which places the dialogue, interaction, interpretation and validation of the results collectively, in a communicative process of knowledge production. The CCM provides, through communication, the construction of a critical analysis of reality by the people who experience it, seeking, thereby, to obtain results to transform or validate a social reality. It is a participatory methodology, which enables in its development the flattening of the relations between participants/researcher through consensus building. Data collection in the CCM is performed using quantitative and qualitative methods, as in a traditional methodology. What makes this methodology different is its participatory nature, in which the representatives of communities or collectives that are part of the research participate of the project, investigation process and its conclusions, in order to interact, reflect and make decisions in all these steps, following the communicative orientation's postulates. To carry out the research, a critical communicative group with people from solidarity economic enterprises, participants of São Carlos public policy, was formed. Analysis matrices were produced, so that the excluding or changing elements identified by the group were distributed into two categories: public policy and solidarity economy. After the realization of communicative groups, the systematization of data was performed by the researcher and the results submitted to the group for discussion, construction and validation of its final content. The matrices with the final result listed 70 elements, 46 (65.7%) classified as excluding dimension and 24 (34.3%) in the changing dimension. It means that the dialogue pointed out that the themes solidarity economy and public policy have more challenges to be overcome than elements that have been changing the reality of enterprises fostered by São Carlos public policy. This research considers that these changing elements identified should be strengthened. For those elements identified as excluding, they represent a platform that can guide new actions or even redirect those ones that already exist, so they can become changing in public policy and in the self-management experience.Item type:Item, Diretrizes para implantação de sistemas de infraestrutura verde em meio urbano: estudo de caso da cidade de Ribeirão Preto SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-24) ;Santos, Anelise Sempionato Souza ;Silva, Ricardo Siloto da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5346985934880710https://lattes.cnpq.br/3207094009065346It deduces, nowadays, that one of the biggest challenges to be overcome by planning and urban management is the condition between the conservation of natural resources committed by the process of urbanization and the urban development. This lead to be necessity of developing strategies that provides control conditions and reverse the effects of the socio environmental degradation, as in the case of urban flooding and irregular settlements in conservation areas. From this context stands out the green infrastructure, a system based in environmental urban planning, which offers the perspective of upgrading the urban environment through the development of hybrid networks, that links green spaces and surface water areas. Through analyses of urban landscapes they are identified the socio environmental conditions and they establish strategies using specific planning to guarantee the existence, the recovering and expansion of natural resources in urban spaces. Thus the concept of green infrastructure comes from the idea that natural spaces fulfill infrastructure function, consolidating a landscape of high performance while offering environment benefits. To that situation, it uses several types that enable the conservation of natural ecosystem and their functions: climate regulations, soil permeability, aquifer supply, filtering the storm water, controlling the air and noisy pollution, increased by biodiversity and recreational areas, promotion of nom motorizing mobility, among others. Therefore, this study aims to define the real methods to introduce the system of green infrastructure in a geographic division in urban area of Ribeirão Preto SP, so that it is possible to establish to this area a model of occupation to mitigate negative environmental impacts caused by urban expansion. It will be useful as an example for other cities to get success when they consider this important aspect in their planning to urban space.Item type:Item, A prática de Educação Ambiental no âmbito do ensino formal: estudos publicados em revistas acadêmicas brasileiras (2007 a 2012)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-25) ;Viegas, Patrícia de Lourdes ;Neiman, Zysman ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6435341856481082 ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4639445175801894Marques, Silvio Cesar MoralLately the production of research in the environmental area has been quite significant and presenting diverse to the point of preventing the knowledge of varied experiences, backgrounds and theoretical frameworks. In the context of Environmental Education in formal education many papers have been published in order to present their concepts, methodologies and results, however, there are not many publications that make an analysis of the work itself. Thus, through a descriptive-explanatory research with bibliographic procedures, the present study aimed to analyze the practices of environmental education developed along with the formal education, published in the period 2007-2012 through articles in academic journals that address exclusively Environmental Education, allowing to identify and present in a synthetic manner the production of knowledge in the subject concerned. Despite the executor profile, we chose not to classify this work as a study of state of the art, since besides providing information on study presents an analysis of the production thereof. Were instruments of studies: Environment & Education magazine, Brazilian Journal of Environmental Education and Research in Environmental Education magazine, all with an academic format and theme directed to Environmental Education. The data was processed from qualitative and quantitative analyzes. The method of content analysis was used based on categories for qualitative analyzes and descriptive statistics for quantitative analysis. According to the study, the practice of Environmental Education published a predominant feature profile applied to public institutions and elementary school in the Southeast region of the country. Its practices are that last for more than a year, developed by researchers, in which there is involvement of supporters. Primarily involve the range 1-50 participants and are developed at school. Involves various environmental themes and quantity and type of subjects not defined. There is a predominance of both the transverse and interdisciplinarity as an educational focus on content - critical analysis - action. The methodology is based on the method of teaching by projects, strategies and various techniques and evaluation process characterized with a mixture of techniques. As for the meanings predominated search for meanings of the environment by making use of various techniques. This study is a not only a basic assumption to evaluate how the environmental education has been developed in the academic and scientific context, but also as a guiding parameter for scholars who use this method to promote their studies and to those using the assumption as benchmarks for their work and for assessing the submission of articles. From this listing of practices in environmental education is still possible to identify gaps and impassable roads and thereby encourage the development of new studies directed to these, as well as make use of the aspects already established, recognizing and leveraging the value of research.Item type:Item, A influência das relações academia-indústria no desenvolvimento tecnológico: um estudo das relações da Petrobras com instituições de ciência e tecnologia do Estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-26) ;Jordão, Alessandro Augusto ;Saltorato, Patrícia ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4086015205835355 ;Ferrarini, Cleyton Fernandeshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6048395588990624The intensification of relations between universities and industry is revealed as a strategy for the strengthening innovation systems. For this reason, there has been a significant increase in the country of discussions in the universities and in the context of public policies on the most appropriate institutional mechanisms to encourage interaction between universities and industries. However, the creation of institutional mechanisms imposes a co-evolution to universities and industry which must be managed carefully so that the interaction can ensure technological results in the near term without compromising the developmental trajectories of knowledge in the long term. Supported by evolutionary and neo-Schumpeterian approach, and a historical approach to the technical and institutional co-evolution of the innovation system of the Brazilian oil industry, this research aimed explore the relationship between the Petrobras and the institutions of science and technology of the State of Sao Paulo through its Thematic Research Networks. Through an exploratory, descriptive and analytical study, this research revealed that, in linking actors with different (and complementary) innovative capabilities, through the Thematic Research Networks, the Petrobras has strengthened its technological acquis and at the same time afforded to science and technology institutions of the State of São Paulo knowledge production in scientific frontier areas. In addition, the Petrobras to promote, through its Thematic Research Networks, the creation of permanent and specific infrastructure research, improve infrastructure research existing and improve human resources specialized, the Petrobras has increased the capability research, development and innovation (RD&I) of different research groups of the science and technology institutions of the State of Sao Paul, qualifying research groups to attend regional technological demands.Item type:Item, Análise da acessibilidade de pessoas com deficiência física aos espaços de circulação de pedestre: o caso de Campinas-SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-26) ;Reis, Débora Feliciana dos ;Ferreira, Marcos Antonio Garcia ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2643134259454260https://lattes.cnpq.br/2223970744907985In this study the conditions of accessibility of pedestrian circulation spaces offered to people with physical disabilities users wheelchair were analyzed. PN models can be used to model several system types, for example, Manufacturing Systems. In general, using PN to model systems with too many characteristics cause the so-called state-space explosion problem, in other words, a great element profusion in the model. In order to mitigate the referred problem researchers developed reduction rules to synthetize models. Reduced models maintain original system properties and can be easily analyzed and simulated. A method to automate reduction rules application is proposed on the present research. A Genetic Algorithm heuristic is responsible for applying six reductions rules on Place-Transition Petri Nets given as input. The proposed algorithm, presented as a Matlab toolbox, may contribute when simulating and running property verification methodologies on Petri Net models.Item type:Item, Índices de política de concorrência: avaliação do caso brasileiro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-26) ;Falco, Guilherme de Aguiar ;Pitelli, Mariusa Momenti ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2810339285129049 ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5469395362302607Rodrigues, Rodrigo VilelaMarket regulation brings on the expectation that government's intervention improves the economy. For example, the assumption that competitive environments enable efficient allocation of resources influences the development of antitrust policies and encourages free competition. The promotion of competition through laws and regulatory agencies follows this reading and public antitrust policies are disseminated throughout developed and developing countries. However, despite its wide application, these regulations lack empirical mechanisms that organize their major institutional properties and allow proper assessment of policy operation and its effects over the economy. This master thesis replicates to the Brazilian reality a set of indexes - previously developed for 13 other jurisdictions - that seek to translate institutional and qualitative information into objective, quantitative and comparable cross-country information. The indexes are created upon the compilation and classification of the characteristics of a particular jurisdiction with respect to a benchmark of best practices in deterring anticompetitive conducts. The immediate goal is to review and critique different designs of competition policy agencies and statutes, allowing cross-time and cross country analysis. The results for the Brazilian policy are positive regarding institutional features (rules of the game), both in cross-time and cross-country perspectives; Brazil presents inferior results regarding enforcement (human/financial resources and volume of cases analyzed by the competent agency); the aggregate index presents high levels in a cross-country analysis.Item type:Item, Estudo dos efeitos do bloqueio da integrina αvβ3 por uma desintegrina RGD recombinante na cicatrização de hérnia incisional em ratos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-27) ;Oliveira, Claudio Ricardo de ;Araújo, Heloísa Sobreiro Selistre de ;ttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4065824911933203https://lattes.cnpq.br/5091705745613726Introduction: Incisional hernia (IH) is considered a connective tissue disease characterized by defective wound healing process, and it is found in high incidence after abdominal surgeries. Previous studies have shown that DisBa- 01 presents high-affinity to αvβ3, which can have wide therapeutic application and/or laboratorial in disorders related to collagen. Hypothesis: Considering the regulatory role of the vitronectin receptor, the αvβ3 integrin, in wound healing, we hypothesized that blocking this integrin would affect tissue repair. Objectives: To evaluate the DisBa-01 (a desintegrin RGD-recombinant by snake venom of Bothrops Alternatus) as a blockage of αvβ3 integrin on improvement of HI healing. Methods: IH was successfully induced in rats of Sham and DisBa-01 group. DisBa-01 group were treated with different doses (0.25; 0.5 and 1.0 mg/kg). A control group without surgery was included to analyze the surgery effects. Were evaluated the histology, zymography and gene expression of MMP-2, type I and III collagen and VEGF. Type 1A collagen were analysed by Western Blotting. Results: After 14 days, the presence of IH and hernia ring were observed in all sham-operated animals; in contrast, 100% of animals treated with 0.25 and 1.0 mg/kg of Disba-01 did not present visible signals of hernia and showed closed hernia rings. The surgery procedure strongly activated MMP-2 gene expression as well as its activity (P<0.05). Up-regulation of collagen 1 (col-1) and 3 (col-3) gene expression was also observed, DisBa-01 reduced the expression of col-I, however, did not affect col-III, while VEGF expression was down regulated at day14. In contrast, DisBa-01 significantly inhibited MMP-2 gene expression and its activity. Western Blotting analysis revealed the presence of Type1A collagen in all groups, however only DisBa-01 differed statistically of Control group. The thickness of the collagen layer in each of control group presented reduced. However, Sham and DisBa-01, there was a relative increase in all studied animals (P<0.05). Conclusion: These results indicate that αvβ3 integrin has an important role in the control of wound healing and its blockade modulate repair conditions, including IH. In the use of the institutions, this practice involves different types of professionals and of guided acquirements to children with risk to their development. The diversity of practices makes it relevant to describe the performance of the professionals that work in Early Stimulation programs as a way of enabling the improvement of the work carried out, aiming the harmonization of concepts, guidelines and practices. In this research, the purpose was to describe the performance of 13 professionals experienced in working at early stimulation programs, in three institutions, and to analyze the relationships established by these professionals between their professional practice and the knowledge acquired during graduation course. For this purpose, an exploratory study was carried out, whose data collection consisted of semistructured interviews with the abovementioned professionals and the collection of the institutions’ data through consults to the coordination and to the available documents. Regarding the results, the interviewed professionals conceived early stimulation as the provision of opportunities to the child’s development; and/or support to the Family or the prevention of risk for the development. The professionals considered it important for a good service in the early stimulation program the professional involvement and/or specific working conditions and/or partnership with the family. Regarding the difficulties faced in carrying out the work, the reports were focused on the lack of familiar participation/involvement, the inadequacy of work conditions and the work with the child itself. Regarding the preparation/training that the Higher Education Institution (HEI) offered for the work in early stimulation program, eight interviewed professionals informed that the graduation course offered the training on the Early Stimulation; however, half of them related that this training was inadequate/superficial. From the thirteen professionals, five declared that the HEI did not offer preparation/training to work with early stimulation. From all the professionals, tem considered that the HEI could have offered better training, even those that offered some; from those tem, five declared that there should be better articulation between theory and practice.Item type:Item, Estudo de inserção de jogos computadorizados como recurso complementar ao ensino de leitura(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-27) ;Marques, Leonardo Brandão ;Souza, Deisy das Graças de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4404800720856419https://lattes.cnpq.br/3705407022339177The literature cites educational games as a procedure that increase the spontaneous engagement in educational task and assist the retention of what was learned. Choice procedures and the identification of preference among different teaching procedures can be taken as an indicator of further spontaneous engagement .Were proposed two complementary studies to investigate the influence of electronic games in the learning of reading: The Study 1 tested an application of a software and a procedure for teaching reading in large-scale (a school environment) with 11 participants; the Study 2 incorporated this same teaching procedure in a game (gamified version) and assessed the preference between the game and the standard condition of teaching (without game) among 27 elementary students. The results indicated that for both conditions (standard and gamified) the teaching program was effective in teaching basic reading skills. Most participants presented preference for the gamebased teaching condition format. The gains in reading performances were kept in this condition and the number of repetitions of the teaching procedure was also lower in game situation. It has not been possible to identify a preference between game or the conventional procedure for about 30% of the participants. Participants who showed preference for Game condition tended to repeat less blocks of training components of each teaching session. A task who asked the students to choose between the default condition and return to the classroom indicated that participants with preference for Game condition remained engaged in teaching procedure when was given the opportunity to return to the classroom. The discussion focuses on the parameters used in the choice task, pointing manipulations that optimizes the method to measure the preference, in order to make it more sensitive to different measures of the game as a motivational factor.Item type:Item, Estudo dos Doryctinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) em áreas de mata da região sudeste brasileira(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-27) ;Pinto, Clóvis Sormus de Castro ;Dias, Angélica Maria Penteado Martins ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8637344058859147https://lattes.cnpq.br/1027467404762561The Hymenoptera parasitoids have great importance in maintaining of the environmental balance in the population control of many insect hosts. For the present study, was made a faunistic survey of Doryctinae from collected at INCT- Hympar Sudeste. Samples were collected in 32 municipalities each one of them with five sampling points, excluding São Luís do Paraitinga city with seven points, all with different sampling efforts. To capture of insects, Malaise, Moericke and swep of vegetation traps were used. The total number of individuals captured was 8,210 specimens, distributed in 32 valid genera, during the period between 2009 and 2011. Jundiaí city had the largest number of specimens of Doryctinae, with 1,411 individuals and occurrence frequency of 17.18%, and also the largest genus richness, with 15 in total. Seven municipalities had a unique genus to the location. Heterospilus Haliday was the dominant genus with 83.11% of the total collected specimens (6,824). The collection method with which most individuals was captured was swep of vegetation with 47.24% of the total Doryctinae collected by this technique (1,239). Although avoidance about 7% of the biome, and to be quite fragmented, the Atlantic Forest concentrated at Southeastern region in Brazil presented very abundant and rich in genus of Doryctinae, being found in this work two of them endemic to the Atlantic Forest: Percnobracon Kieffer and Rimacollus Marsh. Six new species of Hecabolus Curtis, a new species of Lissodoryctes Marsh, and a new species and first record of Nervellius Roman, and three new first records of Megaloproctus Schulz were published during the development of this work.Item type:Item, Caracterização dos fatores para implantação do processo de Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): um estudo multicaso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-06-27) ;Pedroso, Carolina Belotti ;Silva, Andrea Lago dahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4287346156065964In today's dynamic market scenario to develop skills for quick and assertive decision making is still one of the challenges faced by companies around the world. In order to assist managers to meet the demand in a competitive way, a new approach to integrated management of business processes has emerged in recent years the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning). This approach encompasses the master production planning, demand planning and managing the flow of information, resulting in a unique planning to the company. Thus, the purpose of this research is to characterize the success factors for S&OP implementation in three companies that are in distinct S&OP maturity level. Firstly, a Literature Review was conducted about Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), in order to identify relevant points in literature, for this research. For this porpouse, it was used the Systematic Literature Review principles. The empirical part of the research included the method of multi case study in which three organizations that have already deployed the S&OP, but are in different stages of maturity, were investigated in order to clarify different perspectives of the research problem and find common characteristics. After conducting semi-structured interviews, that were used as a research tool, it was used the technique of content analysis to survey the main features of the implementation of S&OP process. From the results, it was possible to develop a set of factors for companies wishing to deploy the process, in which the main determining factors of success were: the involvement of senior management, cross-functional integration, metrics and performance monitoring, information systems and understanding of the process or training. Conversely, the main barriers identified in the study included the culture of silos and inadequate technology and information systems. It is assumed that both external variables such as culture and local economy and internal variables, such as the production strategy adopted, can influence the process of S&OP, elements yet not explored by the literature about the subject.
