listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Entre sambas e rezas: vivências, negociações e ressignificações da cultura afro-brasileira no Bexiga(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-09-15) Nascimento, Larissa Aparecida Camargo do; Silvério, Valter Roberto; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2944662931217514In the late nineteenth century there was formed the Quilombo Saracura in Bexiga. Later there was an intense process of territorial / racial redefinition which promoted the shift of the black downtown area of São Paulo to Bexiga. This stream was concomitant with the arrival of Italian immigrants in the neighborhood. The black population lives in this area until the present day, but different medias represents the Bexiga as a typically Italian region in Sao Paulo, erasing the contributions from other social groups. Given the process of racialization and asymmetrical relations, this research presents as general purpose to investigate how the black culture in the neighborhood are interpreted by self-declared black subjects. For this, was researched a samba school, a Candomblé and a black pastoral that marks this urban context. Besides the direct observation, were realized interviews based in the history of life. Given that the culture undergoes transformations and that identity is not fixed, was analysed the translation, ressignification and/or tensions between different cultures and identities. The research is based on theorists of Cultural Studies, especially authors who works from a Postcolonial Perspective.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Nanotecnologia verde em uma perspectiva CTSA: análise de uma proposta didática WebQuest para a alfabetização científica na educação básica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-09-15) Bernardinelli, Silvia; Zuin, Vânia Gomes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5265150425993880; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2971868369597851The objective of this work was to evaluate the teaching resource WebQuest and the topic of green nanotechnology in order to promote scientific and technological literacy in basic education. Specifically, we tried to identify the perceptions of students of nanotechnology; analyze the relationships among science, technology, environment and society (STES) established by the students when researching into nanotechnology; verify the learning of school content of chemistry by the students when it comes to nanocapsules of controlled release; and finally, check the acceptance of the WebQuest proposal by the students. The results showed that nanotechnology and the WebQuest resource are of great potential to promote scientific literacy in basic education. The students were guided to reflect on the relationships among science, technology, environment and society (STES); thus, developing the critical thought necessary to good citizenship. The approach also showed it is possible to relate basic school content of chemistry (pH, solubility, chemical equilibrium, equilibrium shift, etc.) to contents regarding nanotechnology, even though the students showed certain difficulty learning the school contents in order to understand the nanocapsules of controlled release. WebQuest, a teaching resource already successful for oriented online research activities, was also shown to be a very adequate tool to promote scientific literacy, as long as the task is oriented for such purpose.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Resistência à corrosão e ao desgaste de recobrimentos metálicos produzidos com ligas amorfizáveis a base de ferro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-09-15) Berger, José Eduardo; Botta Filho, Walter José; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8956458007749112; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4495446891074324Amorphous Iron-based alloys can be processed in such a way that, if well designed, it can ensure an attractive combination of mechanical and electrochemical properties, particularly in petrochemical industries where high level of wear and corrosion resistance is required. The success in obtaining such properties is dependent on the design quality, which is dependent on the level of technical-scientific knowledge of the area. Thus, in the present work, we attempted to conciliate a scientific study and a practical application. The work was divided into three parts, the first one is: the evaluation of corrosion resistance of amorphous alloys in the form of ribbons prepared by melt spinning from pure elements; the second one is: the characterization and evaluation of electrochemical properties of amorphous ribbons made of superduplex commercial alloy modified with boron (SDM) in front of the crystallization level. And, in the last part, a more practical application was developed, where in partnership with Hydro-Québec in Canada, the HVOF thermal spray process in substrate pipes used in drilling wells by Petrobrás Company was performed. Powders from spray forming and high energy ball milling as ZOZ mill type were produced, the coatings showed different levels of crystallization. In this way it was possible to conciliate the results with those obtained from previous steps. The characterizations were performed by several techniques such as XRD, DSC, SEM, TEM, EDS, MO, analysis of hardness and porosity. The corrosion resistance properties were evaluated from the polarization curves for high salt media (35 g/L NaCl) and the coatings were evaluated by abrasive wear tests on dry sand/rubber wheel. The results indicated a large capacity of alloy SDM to achieve a combination of properties such as corrosion and wear resistance.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Influência do tratamento superficial da nanocarga nas propriedades mecânicas de curta e longa duração de um nanocompósito de PEEK/nHA(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-09-15) Marcomini, André Luís; Bretas, Rosario Elida Suman; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2805349172281345; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8025503925662254In this dissertation the mechanical properties of short and long term of PEEK/nHA nanocomposites with potential application as orthopedic implants were studied. The nanohydroxyapatite (nHA) was surface-treated with the coupling agent aminoethylaminopropyltrimethoxysilane (AEAPTS). After treatment, the nanoparticles were mixed with the polymeric matrix of poly (ether ether ketone) (PEEK) in a twin screw extruder. Subsequently specimens of the nanocomposite were injection molded. These specimens were subjected to mechanical tests to have their properties compared with the pure polymer and the nanocomposite with the pure nHA. First, tensile tests were conducted; through these analyses, it was found the stress and strain at break increased. The presence of the silane increased the fatigue life of the nanocomposite suggesting a higher interaction between the matrix and the nanofiller. The impact tests confirmed the higher resistance of the sample with silanized nHA. It was concluded that the silanization of the nHA was effective, strengthening the interface PEEK/nHA; however, silane molecules also plastified the polymer matrix. The injected test specimens were subjected to annealing. The objective was to determine how the increase in crystallinity induced by annealing influenced the mechanical properties. After the annealing, the presence of the silane did not cause significant changes in the mechanical behavior of the material. Analysis of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) were done in order to characterize the structure of the nanocomposites. The morphology observed in the micrographs was correlated with the dynamic mechanical properties. It was concluded that the nanocomposite with silanized nHA besides having elastic modulus behavior similar to natural bone, also had a more homogeneous structure than the nanocomposite with pure nHA.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O papel da iniciativa pública na produção nacional de games(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2014-09-15) Linzmayer, Gustavo de Castro; Santiago, Glauber Lúcio Alves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9385173410103898; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5186806883884478To fulfill its purpose, we will get this work started from the present conditions of the national videogame production. That is a rising industry with increasing attention from the national state because of its potential in many aspects, such as the economical, educational and artistic ones. At the same time, the industrial polices are restricted and discontinuous and the development experiences take place with a great deal of inequality, and the production is concentrated mostly in some specific locations, without a large development tradition. Because of that, we have chosen to carry out case studies about videogames produced with support resources from state agencies industrial polices. Thus, we search to analyze the effects of these initiatives in specific videogames, on their inherent content and form as well as aspects such as their team design, work method, their relationship with supporters and the task of videogame advertising and distribution. We search, in this sense, to understand how state oriented industrial policy can be seized, what are the difficulties faced by producers, the result oriented most successful ways of conduct and the mistakes that were made along the way. Such a manner, we propose to indicate some possible coordinates and prospects for the foreseeable future of the national videogame production.
