This study intends to analyze, in the construction system that is in ascendancy - the structural masonry, an element that demands a special attention comparing to other elements: the reinforced concrete masonry beam. The beams carry vertical loads, with flexure and shear forces. In the theoretical part, the literature review included national and international papers and codes. The assessed codes were the national (NBR15961-1/2011 and NBR 6118/2014) and international (ACI530-13, AS3700/2001, S304/2014 and Eurocode 6.1/2001). The experimental study includes testing of ten (10) concrete block masonry beams, designed to fail due to shear forces. As a conclusion, it can be pointed that concrete masonry beams failure in a similar behavior to concrete beams, except for some particularities such as prior joint cracking. Furthermore, the specification at Brazilian and European standards led to considerably higher results than the experimental results while the specifications at ACI530-13, AS3700/2001, S304/2014 and NBR6118/2014 yielded reasonable predicted values when compared to experimental results.

The proposed work consists primarily in understanding the different languages dialoguing in the creative process of "The Famous and The Dead", that is film, book, script, music, photography and internet. It is considered the fact that the narrative is developed for different media and we assume as a starting point the screenplay, which is part of the larger movement and should be seen as a piece within the network. Thus, the creative process is no longer just the script, but all of this network, or movement. The intention is to see how this idea can add meanings or enhance aspects of the narrative. Using as a base the script, it is understood this as a "place between", a hybrid platform with literary aspects and indications for a cinematographic work. We consider the script an object that is Literature and Cinema at the same time. Aftter that, a comparative analysis takes place, in which the different “bodies” were put in evidence in trying to understand the creative movement. The analysis then encompassed literature, film, screenplay, videos to internet, photos and music; we realize that several authors are involved in the process, director and screenwriter leading the movement, and setting correlations of shock and approach in what regards to the authorship.

The implementation of Assistive Technology resources (AT) can make a big difference in the education of students with disabilities. However, the continued use of these by specialist teachers is considered challenging, for though they take ownership of knowledge about assistive technology, when they are submitted to continuing education programs, in general do not give continuation to the use of these resources when completed such training. Considering the recommendation of the literature of a permanent service of collaborative consulting AT for teachers of students with disabilities, the objective of this study consist to plan, implement and evaluate a service of collaborative consulting at distance in Assistive Technology for teachers of Multifunction Resources Room (MRR) from their demands. The study developed in the qualitative approach, was exploratory type. The participants were six teachers of MRR and three consultants in the area of Special Education. The datas were colleted through the activities realized in a Virtual Learning Enviroment (VLE) through it too were obtained responses to the questionnaires (involving open and closed questions). Initially, was identified the demand for AT knowledge of the participant teachers and the possibility of collaborative consulting. Then, the intervention was based on the provision of the service of collaborative consulting in distance mode and each teacher chose a case of a student with cerebral palsy (CP) that demanded the Assistive Technology. After the intervention by collaborative consulting in AT in the modality at distance, occurred the process of assessing the actions of these provided service. The results obtained through of the posting in the VLE and of the responses to open questions of the questionnaires were treated by the technique of content analysis, especially the thematic. In relation to the data of closed questions of the questionnaires, too was realized a descriptive analysis through absolute frequencies. Generally speaking, the evidences found indicate that is possible to identify at distance the demands of teachers about the AT use as well as to plan and implement action of collaborative consulting from VLE. The collaborative consulting service proposed in this investigation, it was revealed still beneficial to the professional performance of consultants and teachers of the research. The students with CP selected by teachers for the study in the consulting service too were benefited through implemented actions. However, they were not the only ones blessed, since the consulting also allowed to solve educational problems of other students through teacher empowerment. Thus, the contribution of this research to the scientific literature is to indicate a further possibility of support service for inclusive school in order to solve educational problems in the AT.

Síntese e propriedades da zeólita faujasita nanométrica aplicada à catálise básica
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-02-24) Vicente, João Guilherme Pereira; Cardoso, Dilson; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2462847535959232; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6538029003571409
In order to increase accessibility to catalytic sites, several studies currently aimed at reducing the diameter of the particles of zeolites to the nanometer scale. So, the increase in aging temperature caused a reduction in the size of the particle to 40 ° C, higher values for the phenomenon of crystal growth has become prevalent. At temperatures between 50 ° C and above, evidenced the formation of materials with relative crystallinity, even before the hydrothermal treatment step. On aging at 60 ° C for 24 h, according to the XRD patterns and the use of the Scherrer equation was obtained the smaller crystallite sizes of all the syntheses performed, those having dimensions of about 12 nm and particle of 300 nm. Thus, when the synthesis time compared to the literature, there obtained a reduction of 54 h and no more necessary to make the hydrothermal treatment step at 100 ° C. To evaluate the influence of the size of the zeolite crystals, when they apply the basic catalysis, using the commercial and nanometric zeolites synthesized. Both materials modified by ion exchange with ammonium cations and methylammonium, in order to generate catalytic sites with strong basic properties. Due to steric hindrance ion exchange not completely occurred, however the nanometric zeolite showed values of ion exchange higher for all cations used for commercial zeolite, except for the tetramethylammonium cation, where the results were equal. Among all exchangers used cations, zeolites containing methylammonium had better conversions. The catalytic evaluations conducted have shown overall prevalence of catalysts with nanosized front of commercial micrometric zeolite. The greater accessibility and better diffusion of the reactants and products through the pores of zeolites with nanosized crystallites provided better performance in catalytic studies on activity, kinetics, reaction rate, activation energy and TOF.

The growing interest in supply chain management is due to perception that closer relationship between partners lead to performance improvement of the supply chain as a whole. This is possible, for example, due to the increase of demand visibility provided by information exchange between its members. Better supply and demand synchronization is a consequence of collaborative supply chain management and the adoption of collaborative initiatives helps to build these new collaborative relationships between companies that are seeking to remain competitive in dynamic markets, with more demand from customers. Within this theme, this master thesis analysed five collaborative initiatives through systematic literature review, including Quick Response (QR), Efficient Consumer Response (ECR), Continuous Replenishment Program (CRP), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR), aiming to develop a theoretical framework to guide the decision making process of adopting and implementing these collaborative initiatives, based on the characteristics, expected benefits, reasons for adopting and possible barriers found in each of them. The analysis of benefits cited in literature showed primary and secondary benefits that are reached by these initiatives. Primary benefits, like better inventory management, should be reached before secondary benefits, like cost reduction, appear. The barriers found in literature were grouped in cultural, behavioral and physical. With technology development, a physical barrier, cultural and behavioral barriers influence more negatively on the relationship than do the physical ones. The reasons for adopting found in literature can be related to economic or market changes in the environment that the supply chain operates, or the form of business organization. Analysing the context of creation and development of these initiatives and their characteristics, it was possible to propose a framework for characterizing the initiatives. It is made of several dimensions for differentiating one initiative from another and can be used as a guide for companies that are planning to implement these initiatives, or help the ones that have already adopted to review its current state and to design a future one. Finally, the theoretical framework to guide the decision making process of adopting a collaborative initiative was proposed, linking the main results of this work, showing to the decision maker the main aspects of concern when adopting a collaborative initiative and highlighting the need to monitor the initiative s performance constantly.

Popularization of Science is responsible for the role of transmiting information and scientific and/or technological knowledge in an adequate language aimed to a public which technical and specialized terms are not familiar. In this scenario, it is imperious the need of studying in which ways it has got materialized, in which means and, moreover, discover if the scientific disclosure was made aimed to involve somehow the expected public, in other words, if it allows the interactivity. This work analyzes the presence of interactivity areas in three initiatives that produce popularization of Science in websites, that are: the blogs network ScienceBlogs Brazil, the web portal Canal Ciência and the site of Museu da Vida. To achieve the objectives, a qualitative methodology was used, that evaluated the pages by a “Analysis Model of Popularization of Science and Technology” that observed, more than the technical and content aspects, the presence in social media, the approach of the public communication model of Science that was submitted, and primarily, the existence of areas focused in interactivity. By using the method and its investigation into the pages of the analyzed initiatives, it is concluded that these pages are concerned more with the literacy of its users, following strictly by a Deficit Model, than with the construction of a interactive scientific culture.

Children with cerebral palsy (CP) have limitations in the components of the structure and function of the body, social participation and implementation of activities, being one of these activities manual reaching. From this evidence was our interest in the Study I, a systematic review aimed to gather studies evaluating the scope for CP children to identify the variables analyzed review and discuss their findings. It was found that children with CP have limitations in reaching, characterized by lower smoothness and linearity of movement. Among the causes of these limitations are the postural control deficits. Postural control refers to the ability to control the body in relation to space, when it is disturbed during dynamic activities such as in the range of objects. Anticipatory postural adjustments (APA) and compensatory (APC) are generated to keep the balance forward to this destabilization. There are few studies evaluating the APA and APC in CP children with different impairments of gross motor function and manual function during manual range in the seated position. Therefore, we developed the Study 2 aimed to check the APA and APC during manual reaching of PC children with mild and moderate-severe impairment of motor function and manual-thick comparing them with typical developmentTD children. It was found that children with CP with mild and moderate-severe impairment exhibit greater instability in the APA and APC when comparads DT, however not present disparity when compared with children with different impairments of gross motor function and manual. After this evidence that children with CP have instability in the APA and APC there is a need for studies that verify therapeutic strategies, as well as auxiliary devices aimed aprimor postural control of children with CP during the reaching in the seated position. Thus originated the Study 3 aimed to determine the immediate effect of suit Pediasuit in APA and APC during manual reaching in sitting posture in children with spastic CP. It was found that the suit Pediasuit provides immediate changes in postural control during the sitting reaching of children with CP, providing greater stability of the center of pressure (COP) in the APA and APC. Thus, we can conclude that children with CP have deficits of range of motion and postural control during the activity of reach when compared to children with typical development, demonstrating postural instability during the activity. The suit Pediasuit generates greater stability in the APA and APC in children with CP. Therefore we recommend the use of suit in clinical practice in order to obtain immediate changes in postural stability.

The present work undertakes the film analysis of the feature film 2001: A Space Odissey (1968) of Stanley Kubrick, in wich the origin of the tool is associated with the origin and transformation of man throughout history. The Discovery and use of the tool provided a new knowledge and, along with it, a number of effects permeated by Power relations –analyzed based on diverse authors point of view, between them Michel Foucault. The literary-cinematographic genre to wich 2001: A Space Odissey belongs to, is science fiction, wich is the natural medium to social, political, economic and even religious criticism. Kubrick with this film within the sixties context, opens a new era in major productions of the genre, wich had been relied on a few technological and economic resources, and also for its high aesthetic quality both at photographic level and special effects. The narrative style is no less innovative because in a genre where everything was explained in detail, Kubrick shows a visual story, to be told through different musics and images, and not just relied on dialogs and callouts. This paper also notes the relationship between humans and their Technologies represented in the film, from the issue of the otherness as conceived by Bakhtin.

One of the major clinical problems of post-stroke people is regarding the loss of upper limb function, which impairs daily activities performance, especially those involving reaching. Increased muscle tone, sensory deficits and weakness are alterations that affect both muscle activation pattern and movement strategies of upper limb during reaching. The performance of specific functional tasks during the rehabilitation process must occur within enriched contexts. The implementation of useful objects has been recommended for reach facilitation. Objective: To describe movement strategies and bilateral muscle activation during reaching an object with functional utility in chronic hemiparetic subjects. Methods: Fifteen ischemic post-stroke subjects and 15 healthy subjects matched for age and gender were included in the study. During a task of touching a glass of water and/or a black cylinder were obtained the following variables in a synchronized way: a) electromyographic: magnitude of muscular activity of superior trapezius, pectoral major, biceps brachii, triceps brachii, serratus anterior, anterior deltoid and middle deltoid of both sides; and b) kinematics: peak velocity, percentage of time to reach peak velocity, trajectory, reach path ratio, movement time, and trunk displacement during a reaching task. Results: There was effect of the functional utility of objects neither in movement strategies, nor in muscle activation of both upper limbs in hemiparetic and control subjects. A reduction in the magnitude of electromyographic signal was observed in both upper limbs of hemiparetic subjects in the anterior deltoid and upper trapezius muscles, while the brachial biceps and pectoral major were increased compared to healthy subjects. The triceps braquii muscle showed an increase magnitude in the non-paretic limb when compared to the paretic limb and upper limb of healthy subjects. Changes in upper limb muscle activation which did not perform the movement were also identified. Both paretic and non-paretic limbs showed higher movement time, and trunk anterior displacement, as weel as, and lower peak velocity and reach path ratio during the transport phase, compared to the upper limb of healthy subjects. Conclusion: Subjects with chronic hemiparesis presented bilateral changes in muscle activation and in movement strategies during reaching. The compensatory strategies generated by these subjects did not seem to be affected by the functional utility of the objects in controlled environments.

Studies show that healthcare sector in Brazil is a highlighted sector in the current scenario of the country, mainly due to dissatisfaction of the population with respect to the services provided. This sector is under continuous pressure to improve services and patient safety and reduce costs, waiting times, and errors. In view of this scenario, it is evident the importance of research that present strategies and tools to assist the healthcare sector to improve its performance in Brazil, Lean is one of these strategies. To assess the state of the art on the subject, it was performed a review, classification and analysis of the literature, aiming to update the literature reviews of Mazzocato et al. (2010) and Souza (2009), and thus present the current developments in the subject area. To better understand the Lean Healthcare implementation process, and the benefits gained from such implementation, a case study was conducted in two Brazilian hospitals. It was studied two sectors of Hospital-Case A: Sterile Services Department and Pharmacy; and three sectors of Hospital-Case B: Chemotherapy, Operating Room and Radiotherapy. The analysis of the cases and the literature reviewed shows that it is important to use Lean tools in a logical and structured manner; the barriers and critical factors to the success of Lean implementation are associated with human factor and cultural changes; and the results obtained indicate that the work is targeted to reduce the lead time (patient and information), increased capacity and improved financial performance.

The Augmentative and Aumentative Communication (AAC) is an area of assistive technology that seeks to facilitate the participation of people in different communicative contexts. There is a variety of techniques and methods one of them Picture Exchange Communication (PECS) that proposes to develop communication skills within the social context. Associated with the implementation of PECS, some research has shown benefits of using Video Modeling (VM) that consists a teaching technique that search the development of academic, social, communication and daily leaving skills for individuals of various disabilities. The objective of this study was to apply and analyze the effects of PECS associated with the VM on the development of communication skills of children with Down syndrome. To this end, we selected three participants in a special school in one city in the state of São Paulo, aged between nine and 12 who were diagnosed as Down syndrome and complex communication needs. The following instruments were used in this study: Assessment of Communication Skills was used to evaluate functional communication skills the child; Protocol for Communication Skills Assessment in a school environment with the objective to identify the communication skills of the student in the school environment from the perception of teachers; Vocabulary selection spread sheet with the objective to identify reinforcing objects; Record Sheet that informed participants' performance during the intervention process; Vocabulary sheet monitored the vocabulary of the participants during the intervention; Chart Qualitative Performance was used as a field diary in order to record observations during the intervention process and the Social Validity of questionnaire with the objective to evaluate the perceptions of parents and teachers of the participants about the intervention. In order to verify the effects of the intervention it used Multiple Baseline Design cross subjects including three phases: baseline, intervention, and maintenance, in which the PECS associated with the VM was the independent variable and communication skills constituted the dependent variable. Data were analyzed considering some aspects such as the participant's performance, monitoring vocabulary, level of independence in the baseline, intervention and maintenance steps. The results showed that participants' performance was satisfactory both in respect of each phase and with respect to all the learning process intervention. The level of independence remained above average throughout the training for the three participants, in other words, they understood what they must do in each session of each phase without the aid of the communication partner or physical stimulator. There was an increase in the vocabulary of the three participants, although each of them with his own specificities and development of language, it is noted that the use of the pictures served as a support for the increase in this vocabulary words and phrases formulations through both figures as through speech. Thus, the present study showed a possibility of intervention that favored the participants with Down syndrome, demonstrating that the PECS associated with the VM promoted the development of communication skills, both in speech production as in the use of the figure as a form of communication.

Virtual reality (VR) has been considered an important tool for rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy (CP). Nevertheless, although there is some evidence about its positive effects in rehabilitation by means of existent systematic reviews, its important to investigate the methodological quality of these reviews, providing an update and also enabling practice based on evidence. Thus we developed the Study 1, with the objective of synthetize in a descriptive way the results of the existent studies and evaluate the methodological quality of the existent systematic reviews which employed VR as a tool in the rehabilitation of children with CP. The results of this first study allow us to identify the lack of primary studies in the evaluated reviews presenting a good level of evidence as well as an adequate methodological design. Moreover, the use of reliable outcome measures such as the quantitative measure of postural oscillation by means of force plate and validated scales and questionnaires might help in a reliable investigation of the effects of VR in rehabilitation of CP children. Thus, taking into account the lack of studies with good levels of evidence about the effects of the use of VR in rehabilitation, we developed the Study 2 with the aim of evaluate the effects of an intervention using VR in children with CP on their levels of postural oscillation, gross motor function and assiduousness to the therapy. Methods: In the Study 1 we searched the databases PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, Scopus, Lilacs, Scielo, PEDro and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews using the following keywords: child, children, virtual reality , videogame system and cerebral palsy . We selected 5 studies which meet the inclusion criteria and evaluated it using the Overview Quality Assessment Questionnaire. Study 2 was a randomized controlled trial with longitudinal design and clinical purposes. Fifteen children with CP (10±3 years) with levels I and II of Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS), regularly inserted in physical therapy programs participated in the study. We did not include children with deficits that could compromise their performance in the proposed activities in virtual environment. The sample was shared in two groups by chance: Intervention Group (IG=7) and Control Group (CG=8). GI was submitted to a VR intervention protocol using an active videogame (Xbox 360º Kinect) which lasted 8 weeks with 45 sessions twice a week. CG was instructed to keep their traditional rehabilitation activities. We used four games with demands of balance, motor coordination, jumps, squats and latero-lateral weight shifts. All the children were evaluated in the beginning and after the end of the intervention protocol using the force platform and the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) in the dimensions D and E. The analyzed variables in force platform were total oscillation of the center of pressure (TO of CoP), medio-lateral and antero-posterior amplitude of CoP displacement (ML and AP Amp of CoP), area and velocity of CoP oscillation (Vel of CoP). We calculated the clinically significant changes in GMFM (> 1%) and assiduousness to the therapy. Statistical analysis was conducted using MANOVA with repeated measures to verify differences between the groups before and after the intervention protocol to postural oscillation and Wilcoxon test to verify differences between before and after the intervention to variables of GMFM. Results: Study 1: Primary studies of the reviews were published between 1995 and 2011. The most used databases were CINAHL, EMBASE e PEDro. The most used instrument to evaluate quality of the reviews was American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. The main used equipment was Mandala Gesture XTreme e Rehabilitation Exercise System. The quality assessment of the reviews have showed one study with minimums methodological failures, three studies with small ones and one paper presented small defects. Study 2: We observed a significant difference pre and post intervention. We only verified clinically significant changes in the dimensions D and E of GMFM for the IG. All participants in GI completed the eight weeks of intervention with an assiduousness of 85,1% ±8,7%. We did not find significant differences for the force platform variables related to postural oscillation. Conclusions: Study 1: VR has been widely employed in the rehabilitation of children with CP. We identified a growing trend in the interest for this issue in literature. Although we have found systematic reviews with good methodological quality, the level of evidence of the primary studies was low. Study 2: Rehabilitation using VR by means of videogame was able to improve gross motor function in children with CP levels I and II of GMFCS and also keep high levels of assiduousness to therapy. However, we could not find similar results in the patterns of postural oscillation. These results enable us to use VR as an adjuvant therapy in physical rehabilitation of children with CP.

The incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in female athletes is higher compared to men in the same sports activity. Subjects who have undergone ACL reconstruction show biomechanical changes that may predispose to a second injury. In addition, the muscular fatigue can increase the ACL injury risk. However, few studies have evaluated the effects of muscular fatigue in the kinematics and muscle activation in patients with ACL reconstruction, and no studies had compared the effects between men and women who undergoing reconstruction. Thus, the aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effects of muscular fatigue on the trunk, pelvis and lower limb kinematics, as well as the lower limb muscle activation during single-leg landing between two distinct groups of subjects, healthy recreational athletes and patients who have undergone ACL reconstruction. We also aim to compare the differences of the effects of fatigue between healthy men and women, and between men and women with ACL reconstruction. This thesis is divided into three studies, in which were performed kinematic analysis of the trunk, pelvis, hip and knee and electromyography of the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, vastus lateralis and biceps femoris, during a singleleg landing, before and after a fatigue protocol. The first study compared healthy female and male recreational athletes; the second study compared recreational athletes with ACL reconstruction to a healthy control group, and the third study compared men and women with ACL reconstruction. The first study showed that fatigue caused changes in knee kinematics that could predispose healthy women to ACL injury. The second study found that fatigue can alter the kinematics and muscle activation, but these changes were not different between healthy subjects and patients who have undergoing ACL reconstruction. Finally, the third study showed that fatigue leads to kinematic changes that may predispose women who underwent ACL reconstruction to a second injury.

The student integration to higher education involves the process of facing multiple challenges from new demands in the areas of habits and study skills; interpersonal relationships with colleagues and teachers; personal, linked to psychological well-being; choice of course and career and the perception and evaluation of the conditions offered by the higher education institution. Research shows that the quality of integration is associated with academic success and students permanence at the university. The aim of this study was to identify the perceptions of the integration process to the university of a group of students with disabilities. Participants were five undergraduate students from classroom in a university, two of them with hearing loss, two visually impaired and one physically disabled. Data were collected through a semi-structured guided interview to verify participants' perceptions about the support received in high school and how to face the challenges in personal areas, interpersonal relationships, studies, relationship with the institution and with the course and career. It was also applied an Academic Experiences Questionnaire - QVA-r, evaluation instrument proposed to assess the quality of facing challenges in five areas components of the integration process to the university. The students reports had a content analysis and were organized into categories from the five dimensions of academic experiences. The average scores obtained by each member in the five dimensions assessed in QVA-r were calculated. The results indicate that facing the challenges of the institution and the study was perceived as negative, and highlighted the teachers' lack of preparation to meet the special educational needs; failure in the provision of educational and teaching materials; lack of support from the university and poor physical accessibility. The results showed that most students realize themselves establishing positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, and this support is the basic for the permanence and the academic progress of students with disabilities. Medium scores for each dimensions indicate aspects not seized the interview, such as perceptions tending to negative in relation of psychological well-being and self-confidence and difficulties related to the skills and study habits. It can be concluded that the study contributes to the understanding of the studied group integration process, since it was possible to identify the challenges in multiple dimensions that were being faced. It is discussed the importance of integration to university to studies interested the inclusion of students with disabilities in higher education and subsidies for measures that could represent student integration process improvement.

This master thesis is guiding question understand what teaching practices that contribute to the care of young people and adults in the classroom from the analysis of the GT 18 ANPEd, which hosts the publications of the EJA, during the years 2010 to 2013. This issue aims to: identify and analyze to what extent the work published in this GT, teaching practice match action proposals for work in adult education rooms, and whether these actions are presented as ruptures and / or processing in student learning. To achieve these objectives was performed a literature search for collection and selection of articles based in Salvador (1986) and the content analysis, based on Bardin (2011). The research analyzed 24 articles, especially the proposals developed from the perspective of design methodology, which were articles that indicated directly practical actions for adult education. In addition, the articles sought the transformer indicated that the dialogic teaching practices and the articulation of knowledge of students with school knowledge, which have their basis in Freire's theory, are those that contribute most to the impact of work in the academic life of subject because facilitate mastery of instrumental knowledge and are also reflected in the social life of students, allowing transformations of relationships and the environment in which the students are inserted.
