    This work is concerned with a semilinear parabolic partial differential equation under a homogeneous Neumann boundary condition occuring in population genetics. It describes the evolution of gene frequencies under selection and migration effects in a bounded domain. In the nonlinear term appearing in the equation, which is of logistic type, one has a positive parameter and an indefinite sign weight function. Considering a suitable phase space one obtains a nonlinear dynamical system, actually a gradient system, in a such way that the equilibrium solutions, or stationary solutions, play a fundamental role in the dynamics viewpoint. The problem has two constant equilibria, called the trivial ones, inducing two curves, called trivial branches, and containing the trivial equilibrium solutions. The main aim of this dissertation is to study the bifurcation and stability structures of equilibria, which are completely established and also expressed through diagrams. Furthermore, to establish the behaviour of the only nontrivial equilibrium the problem has for each value of the parameter. A key ingredient in the analysis is the average of the weight function. Indeed, if the weight has nonzero average a global curve consisting of nontrivial exponentially stable equilibria bifurcates from a trivial branch − which is determined according to the sign of the average. But if the parameter is sufficiently small the problem admits the two trivial equilibria as the only equilibrium solutions, one of them exponentially stable and the other unstable. When the weight function has zero average a new curve has now a central role: from such curve bifurcates a global curve defined for all values of the parameter and consisting of nontrivial exponentially stable equilibria. Further, there is no bifurcation from the trivial branches, that ones containing unstable equilibria. Finally, the behaviour of the global bifurcation branch is also established as the parameter is large. Actually, that is achieved as long as one proves the only nontrivial equilibrium concentrates in a region where the weight function has a definite sign, as the parameter is large.

    The study presented here is of a theoretical nature, and aims to carry out a literature review of issues related to diversity, otherness, difference and sexuality in education, with a focus on French contemporary theorists: Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, and Michel Foucault. The focus of this work is the analysis of the relationship of alterity in education from the discussion of concepts of difference and of sexuality. In this way are built subjectivities regarding me and the other, showing influences of domination in the pedagogical relationships that are made by the true premises. Reflected on sexual diversity policies in schools in order to observe that notion of difference is being claimed in this otherness. Sought to overcome the difference you make as a product of suggesting, therefore, the concept of difference of Deleuze. This path is proposed to think how alleged truths about an exercise about yourself, can approach with the concept of care of themselves present in the ancient culture of the Greeks and Latins studied by Foucault.

    The aim of this Masters dissertation is to show a classication of parallel and semi-parallel hypersurfaces of Sn _ R, based on the work of Joeri Van der Veken and Luc Vrancken, in [12]. The classification that we will present is a generalization of the classification of parallel hypersurfaces in Rn and Sn given by H.B. Lawson (see [8]), the classification of semi-parallel hypersurfaces obtained by J. Deprez for the euclidean space (see [5]) and by F. Dillen for the case of space forms of positive sectional curvature (see [6]).

    Study of rutile-supported anatase nanostructured films as photocatalysts for the degradation of water contaminants

    This dissertation studies the application of rutile substrate as an alternative support for anatase films, specifically, on the growth and properties of anatase films. The films were utilized as catalysts for the photodegradation of water contaminants (Atrazine and Rhodamine B). Ti4+ precursor resin was prepared by the polymeric precursor method and deposited by spin coating onto polycrystalline rutile and rutile coated glass substrates. The films were calcined at different temperatures (350 °C to 500 °C) to form anatase TiO2 films. The influence of temperature on the properties of the films has been reported in this study. A comparative study of the films was also done using X-ray diffraction technique (XRD), grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). XRD and GIXRD results confirmed the formation of anatase on the (101) plane depending on the calcination temperature. Bandgap modification of the films with respect to calcination temperature was measured by UV visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The bandgaps were in the range of 2.74 to 2.85 eV. Photocatalytic activity of the films supported on rutile substrate was studied for the degradation of Atrazine (ATZ) and Rhodamine B (Rhod-B) under UV light. Further, the stability of the films was evaluated on four consecutive cycles where the films maintained their photocatalytic properties in all cases. The kinetics of Rhod-B and ATZ degradation followed a pseudo first order and first order exponential decay respectively. The films calcined at 450 °C and 500 °C showed superior photocatalytic activity for Rhod-B degradation than the films calcined at 350 °C and 400 °C. This is attributed to the adequate crystallinity of anatase. For ATZ degradation, the films were also efficient but no specific trend was observed. The results can contribute towards the development of TiO2 films on rutile phase substrates.

    The microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis has been studied as one of the main natural sources of astaxanthin carotenoid, potent antioxidant with applications in the nutraceutical and cosmetic industry. H. pluvialis is a microalgae Chlorophyceae whose life cycle includes a phase encystment with high pigment production. In recent years there has been increased activity, processes and applications involving the use of H. pluvialis and its biomass, however H. pluvialis culture do not achieve generally high biomass and species is considered delicate, a slow-growing. Thus, the production and use of the pigment depends on the microorganism and biological, physical and chemical interactions which result in high production of green cells which subsequently form red astaxanthin filled cysts. In this study we sought to optimize the vegetative growth of microalgae, increased the final biomass yield in crops. To this end we investigated the composition of the nutrient medium different pHs and culture methods (sealed vs continuous). Determination of photosynthetic efficiency and energy dissipation were used to infer the cellular health in green flagellates, evaluating the different experimental conditions on microalgae. Intracellular biochemical composition analyzes were performed by determining the concentration of proteins, lipids and carbohydrates in addition to the fatty acid composition. The study was initiated by investigating different nutrient media the growth and biomass production and the results showed that modified Oligo LC medium containing ammonium bicarbonate four times more concentrated nutrients and the remaining 2 times, resulting in improved production of biomass. A procedure then to study the influence of pH on vegetative growth, photosynthetic efficiency and biochemical composition of H. pluvialis. For this purpose we used pH buffers (MES, HEPES, and PIPES), and the results showed a higher germination cysts and higher growth rate in buffered at pH 6.3 cultures (growth rate 0.45 d-1; MES buffer). These findings that the production of H. pluvialis can proceed in the absence of a lag phase in cultures inoculated with cysts. Pigments and lipids related to cell wall dominated at pH 6.3 and palmitic acid (C16:0) and linoleic acid (C18:2n6c) were the most abundant fatty acids. PH in the 6.7 and 7.2 crops showed the highest content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, 6% higher than the control. Regarding the methods of cultivation, continuous were better. The biomass showed higher protein content and the larger culture growth rate and biomass of the sealed. The photosynthetic activity and its parameters suffered significant variations in continuous cultures. H. pluvialis responded better as the photosynthetic parameters in various light intensities when in continuous culture, despite the saturation irradiance was higher in batch cultures.

    The present study investigated the compatibilization effect and stabilization on the morphology of polycarbonate/styrene-acrylonitrile blends (PC / SAN) by incorporating montmorillonite clay. A systematic study was realized by incorporating different clay concentrations in PC/SAN blends with fixed composition of 70/30 %wt respectively. Polymer blends were processed by extrusion / injection and the thermal aging was performed in order to evaluate the morphological stability. We also investigated the effects of acrylonitrile content and different organic modifier present in clays 20A, with low polarity and 30B clay, which has high polarity, in mophology development of morphology in PC/SAN blends. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis indicated that the presence of clay significantly improved the morphological stability and significantly changed the morphological behavior of the blends even with only 1% wt of clay. In fact, 20A clay showed better results due to its preferential location at the blendsinterfase. On the other hand, 30B clay migrated to the interior of the dispersed phase due to better interaction of SAN and 30B clay modifier. The increase in the acrylonitrile content of the SAN reduces the effect of compatibilizing/stabilizing morphology because it favors greater interaction between SAN/clay that confined clay particles in SAN phase. The analysis of Xray diffraction indicated intercalated structures for nanocomposites obtained from 20A clay and intercalated/exfoliated for nanocomposites obtained from 30B clay.In addition, it was observed evidence of degradation and collapse of clay galleries from 30B nanocomposites. DSC and DMTA analysis showed a reduction in glass transition temperature (Tg) of the PC rich phase proportionally to clay content.

    Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) are short-chain polymers of xylose (2 to 7 units) which can be produced by enzymatic hydrolysis of the xylan from the lignocellulosic feedstocks. XOS have a great potential as probiotic ingredients, and when they are incorporated in diets, they can provide many health benefits. The worldwide interest in the use of lignocellulosic residues is constantly growing, and in this scenario the soybean hull arises as a potential residue of the Brazilian agroindustry. The bioconversion of these residues to value-added products requires suitable pretreatments to deconstruct/disorganize the recalcitrant lignocellulosic complex, separating its main fractions: cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. In this context, this work did evaluate different biomass pretreatments aiming to produce XOS by the action of a Bacillus subtilis endoxylanase. Initially, the conditions for maximum catalytic activity of this enzyme were evaluated changing pH, buffer, and temperature. Among these parameters, 50 mM citrate buffer, pH 5.5, and 45 oC were the one that gave highest activity. The in nature soybean hull (previously chemically characterized) was hydrolyzed with soluble endoxylanase with different enzyme loads (40, 80, and 100 U/g biomass) under preestablished pH and temperature, producing around 55 mg RS/g dry biomass. This result, though little expressive, showed the viability of XOS production from soybean hull. However, this approach requires a suitable pretreatment of the lignocellulosic biomass to improve the endoxylanase accessibility to the C-5 fraction. Several pretreatments were performed in the soybean hulls, such as, enzymatic deproteinization, hydrogen peroxide/acetic acid pretreatment, and organosolv-ethanol pretreatment. For some pretreatments, reagent concentration and reaction time were evaluated, as well as, sequential pretreatment. Besides, enzymatic hydrolysis of the in nature soybean hull under microwave irradiation was also evaluated. The deproteinization of the soybean hull was not very efficient to the enzymatic hydrolysis of the remnant solid (production of 30 mg RS/dry biomass). However, this pretreatment allows the protein recovery as a high nutritional value hydrolysate. The pretreatment of the deproteinized soybean hulls with hydrogen peroxide solution (5 M, 1 h) removed 56% lignin without cellulose losses. However, this pretreatment did not contribute to an efficient action of the endoxylanase to the hemicellulose fraction (production of around 30 mg RS/g dry biomass). The organosolv-(50% v/v)ethanol pretreatment of the deproteinized soybean hulls promoted the removal of around 50% lignin, with low solubilization of hemicellulose (<17%), producing a poor substrate for the endoxylanase. The organosolv pretreatments with 50 and 70% (v/v) ethanol of the in nature soybean hull were able to solubilize around 30% hemicellulose, allowing the production of around 76 and 49 mg RS/g dry biomass, respectively, after hydrolysis with endoxylanase. Finally, the microwave action on the lignocellulosic biomass probably decreased the biomass recalcitrance, because the hydrolysis of the in nature soybean hulls catalyzed by the endoxylanase (100 IU / g of biomass) yielded approximately 100 mg of RS/g dry biomass. On the other hand, the hydrolysis performed in a reactor under conventional heating produced only 52 mg RS/g dry biomass. The results of this work did show that the combination of microwave irradiation and enzymatic hydrolysis might be a promising alternative to produce XOS.     Horticultural crops are an important food source for global population. However, crops still show high rates of postharvest losses, due to its high perishability. Ethylene is a plant hormone that regulates aspects such as growth, development, maturation and senescence of plants and their organs. Ethylene production varies between crops and its control can extend the life of fruits and vegetables. Many technologies have been developed in order to control the synthesis and reduce ethylene produced by plants. Oxidation through potassium permanganate (KMnO4) has application in storage, transportation and marketing. Typically, KMnO4 is impregnated in porous platforms displaying high specific surface are, which are aimed at removing ethylene within packaging. Ethylene can be oxidized by KMnO4, which subproducts (after subsequent oxidation), can be converted into water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). The use of platforms based on mesoporous nanoparticles (with diameters of 5-110 nm) impregnated with KMnO4 allows ethylene oxidation to be carried out more efficiently, once it increases the contact surface area. In this context, this study aimed at developing ethylene absorbers based on nanometric platforms (nanosilica and nanoalumina), associated with potassium permanganate (KMnO4), to remove ethylene produced during postharvest and use color changes during ethylene oxidation as a colorimetric indicator. The performance of nanometric platforms was compared to conventional silica and alumina. The following KMnO4 concentrations impregnated in the platforms were tested: 0; 2.5; 5 to 10%, which values are, respectively, half, equal and twice the values found in commercial ethylene removers. Since relative humidity is a factor that influences ethylene oxidation by KMnO4, the following UR were tested: 45, 60, 75, and 90%. The platforms impregnated with different KMnO4 concentrations and subjected to several RH in closed system, were exposed to a standardized amount of ethylene produced in the laboratory. After 1h and 24h of exposition, injection aliquots were collected for analysis by gas chromatography. The color was measured before placing samples in the closed system and after 24 hours. The silica nanoparticles, synthesized silica and alumina showed superior performance for ethylene absorption, especially when aliquots removal was evaluated in 1h. Among the tested nanoparticles, alumina nanoparticles showed to be the most effective, being able to completely remove the ethylene after 1h, under a greater variety of RH conditions and KMnO4 concentrations. The most suitable combinations, in accordance with the highest color difference and high ethylene absorption performance were synthesized nano-silica + 10% KMnO4 and nano-alumina + 10 % KMnO4 for RH = 45%; nanosilica + 10% KMnO4 and nano-alumina + 10% KMnO4 for RH= 60%; nano-silica + 10% of KMnO4, nano-alumina + 5% KMnO4 and nano-alumina + 10% KMnO4 for RH= 75 and 90%.

    Das margens, escritos negros : relações entre literatura periférica e identidade negra

    This work aimed to study the manifestations of peripheral literature movement of São Paulo, in its intersections with the race issue, in order to verify the relationships that could be established between Black identity and the joints of this movement. Starting from the assumption that the peripheral soirees would build positive meanings for Black and peripheral identities, we made: a literature review, in order to build a theoretical framework, as well as getting materials published about and for the movement; an ethnographic- inspired research in São Paulo’s poetry sessions, based on systematic observations, whose information was organized in field diaries; semi-structured interviews with 19 activists from three peripheral poetry sessions – Palmarino, Elo da Corrente and Poesia na Brasa –; interviews with the author and poet Fuzzil and, with two participantsof these mentioned soirees; and, finally, we conducted thematic analysis and a triangulation ofinformation to identify the analysis units. We found that the poetry sessions are part of a power struggle arena, which plead-meanings. Through this movement, it is given visibility to the Black bodies and audience to the discourses produced to vent the anguish arising from transit through non-place and the desire to be subject in the first person. The literature thus functions as a vehicle to unveil up topics and deleted elements, and to emphasize other appropriate senses to objects whose meanings were historically negative. The curly hair, maroon origins, the link with the periphery etc. become symbolic benefits. Forge up artistic intellectuals and policies references, oriented for challenging the exclusion landmarks imposed to the outskirts and Blacks, as well as for the production of positive speeches and representations endogenously. By turning into rhymes the stratagems of racism, the nature of Black hair, the rejection to adhere to socially ascribed patterns to Black, and the stories and the desires for overruns, Black protagonists arehighlighted, representing them as holders and producers of knowledge. In this context, literature is armament and poets begin to produce it, in a engaged way to the racial question. We conclude that the research data support our hypothesis. We point out the importance of studies that: I) pay attention to the role of Black women poets (minority) in the peripheral poetic circuit; and II) seek to identify the differences and similarities between contemporary poetic movements of Africa and the Black Diaspora.

    Mecanismo de ação da cedrelona na morte celular programada de células de câncer de mama

    Cancer is among the leading causes of death in the world and breast cancer is the type of cancer that affects more women. The treatment of this disorder requires a careful selection of one or more methods of intervention. The majority of drugs currently used in chemotherapy causes DNA damage in tumor cells and also in normal cells, therefore the development of new chemotherapeutic agents is challenging, since these chemotherapeutic agents should be able to kill or inhibit the growth only of tumor cells. From ancient times until today plants and their products have been used for the treatment of diseases, thus the natural compounds may provide new opportunities for the development of cancer drugs. Cedrelone is an isolated limonoid from methanol extract of Trichilia catigua aryl, a native Brazilian plant that grows abundantly in various regions of the country and is popularly known as "cedrinho", "catuaba" or "catiguá". Studies have shown that cedrelone has insecticidal and antifungal activity and previous studies performed by our research group have demonstrated that cedrelone is able to inhibit proliferation, colony formation, cell adhesion, migration, invasion and moreover, to induce apoptosis in triple negative breast cancer cells from the line MDAMB- 231. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify the mechanism of action of cedrelone in triple negative breast tumor cells, MDA-MB-231, through cedrelone analysis, and through cell morphology assay, colony formation, apoptosis assays such as DNA fragmentation and nuclear fragmentation, cell cycle, qRT-PCR and western blotting. The results demonstrate that cedrelone has an affinity for biological membranes and no antioxidant activity. Furthermore, cedrelone is capable of inducing morphological changes, reduce the number and size of colonies and induce apoptosis by increasing the gene expression of pro-apoptotic protein Bax and decreasing gene expression of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 in MDA-MB-231. These results indicate that cedrelone has immense potential in cancer therapy based on their antiproliferative and apoptosis inducing effects.

    In this work, it was investigated the optical and magneto-optical properties of In- GaAsN/GaAs and InGaAs/GaAs double quantum wells. It was performed a systematic experimental study of photoluminescence (PL) as a function of temperature, excitation power, polarization and applied magnetic field. It was investigated the effect of incorporation of N in these alloys, the thermal treatment effect, and the role of carrier localization effect on the optical and spin properties of these materials. The study of the PL as a function of temperature evidenced effects associated with the carriers' localization by defects incorporated by growth conditions at low temperatures. This effect was more pronounced for samples containing N. In optical emission measurements with applied magnetic field, it was found that the N samples presented lower diamagnetic shift, implying in larger carriers localization by defects, so corroborating the results for dependence of PL with temperature. Another important result was the reduction of the diamagnetic shift for samples without N after the thermal treatment, implying that, besides increasing the intensity of PL, the thermal treatment is creating defects responsible for the carriers' localization. The spin filter effect mediated by defects, with and without N, was investigated using photoluminescence technique with circularly polarized excitation. It was observed that the thermally treated samples showed a higher degree of circular polarization. This polarization increase was associated with the increased defect density after the thermal treatment and it is consistent with the results obtained for the diamagnetic shift. In general, the obtained results showed that such materials are interesting for possible applications like spin filters at room temperature.

    The Brazilian savanna holds the richest flora among the tropical savannas, being one of the hot spots for conservation of the biodiversity in the world. However, the chemical potential of its plant species is still underused while deforestation and loss of biodiversity are main issues. In the Brazilian savanna, plants are exposed to environmental pressures (competition, pathogens, drought, injurious UV radiation, etc) that may stimulate the production of secondary metabolites as a defense. These compounds can generally be explored due to their biological properties. The aim of this study was to assess the fungicidal and antioxidant properties of plants from the Brazilian savanna. First a screening was conducted with ethanolic leaf extracts of 28 plant species. There was no activity against Alternaria alternata, a filamentous fungi that causes one of the most severe diseases in tangerines (Alternaria brown spot disease). However, the same extracts presented a high antioxidant potential associated with the phenolic content. Other investigations were made using infusion extractions focusing on the Myrtaceae family, one of the most abundant families of plants in the Brazilian savanna. Most species also presented high antioxidant activity and phenolic content. At last, the extraction of piceid, a compound with high antioxidant activity, was optimized from roots of Psidium laruotteanum. A response surface methodology was applied to assess the influence of solvent, pH, amplitude, cycle, temperature and solvent-solid ratio using an ultrasound extraction. A high amount of piceid was extracted and Psidium laruotteanum root was found to be the most concentrated source of this compound reported up to date. These results point the plant species from the Brazilian savanna as an important source of bioactive compounds, emphasizing the need to preserve and study its biodiversity.

    The use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as a diagnostic imaging has grown every year due to its great benefits. MRI is a noninvasive test and decisiveness for diagnosis of various diseases and is widely used around the world. With the extension of human longevity, it is increasingly necessary to use new technologies for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. It is known that with increasing age, the individual develops certain diseases that require surgical correction resulting often the implant fixtures as, Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (DCEIs). Even though technologies that broke paradigms and transformed lives, extending life expectancy and facilitating diagnoses that were previously impossible and bad, these two medical advances were antagonists until recently, strictly forbidden and that patients with DCEI do use the examination RM due to the interference that this test could cause the DCEI and so harm the health of the patient. As this diagnostic imaging technology cannot be applied to most existing implants, it may be necessary to use alternatives with side effects or less valuable diagnostic information. Because it is an important and necessary for the progress of medical diagnostic advance, the potential risks and the influence of MRI on pacemakers have become research topic over the last ten years. As a result, we acquired a comprehensive understanding of the associated problems. This understanding and solutions to these problems have been integrated in the development of secure devices for MRI (MRI Pro). The objectives of this study were to determine if there is interference DCEI the image generated by Thoracic MRI and thus to understand their influence on the outcome of the review, and determine whether there were significant changes in the operation of this DCEI. Thoracic MRI was performed in 20 patients with DCEIs. The generated image, artifacts and pre and post test parameters were analyzed and compared; coming to the conclusion that Thoracic MRI in patients with DCEIs Pro MRI can be performed safely without changing the operation of the devices and without damaging the image of RM, since some rules and conditions are followed.

    In face of the needs to improve tools that increase productivity in project design, coupled with technical reliability, it was developed a free computer application that performs the equations and details the longitudinal reinforcement of pre-tensioned simply supported prestreessed beams, so it can assist professionals of the área. The program was developed in the graphical environment of Lazarus, which uses Pascal s programming language, in order to use object-oriented programming (OOP), facilitating the user who wishes to have access to the constituent objects. Initially, the user enters with the geometric cross-section s data, as well as the loading characteristics over the beam. In this way, the software will be able to pre-size its longitudinal reinforcement. According to NBR 6118:2014 is necesary to check tensions in both edges of the beam for the serviceability state combination (SLS) and ultimate limit state (ULS) in an empty-load stage, crack control requierments, as well as checks of deflections. The checking for ULS in full-load stage is made by checking the collapse section. Prestressing losses will be properly calculated according to criteria established in NBR 6118:2014, in order to obtain values closer to reality. Finally, the software checks the transverse reinforcement to see if it can resist the efforts of the shear force. This paper also presents the assumptions and normative precepts used in the program. Several examples of validation were made and it is shown how it can turn into an analysis tool. Also presents the listings and it is also given the different possibilities of expansion.

    As life expectancy increases, retirement is lasting for a much longer period of time, making it necessary to better understand and to discover how to manage the psychological issues associated with this phenomenon. One contribution that is needed is the development of theoretically-grounded interventions that enable pre-retirees prepare life plans that will help them satisfy their post-career needs. A systematic literature review of Brazilian studies was conducted, to understand prevailing thoughts about retirement preparation programs (RPPs) and examine existing evidence about the effects of RPPs, offered in Brazil. The results indicate that many RPP coordinators invite speakers to talk about issues that affect people’s wellbeing in the post-retirement period, but researchers do not seem to build on programs developed by others or report assessing the effects of these programs. As such, the objectives of this study were to: (a) assess pre-retirees’ needs, (b) evaluate indicators of the validity and social acceptance of the intervention program, and (c) evaluate the effects of the RPP on the quality of the participants’ plans and their social skills repertoire. Using a quasi-experimental research design, 23 pre-retirees (average age of 53 years) were divided between the Intervention Group (IG; n = 10), and the Comparison Group (CG; n = 13). Interviews were conducted with the IG members, to assess their retirement planning needs. The participants were assessed before and after the intervention program and in a follow-up evaluation, using the Retirement Life-Plans Register and the Social Skills Inventory for the Elderly, along with complementary instruments to evaluate the intervention program, including: a Session Assessment, an Intervention-Program Assessment, and a field diary. The intervention was conducted with the IG participants; the CG participants had the opportunity to attend a session on preparing for retirement, after the posttest. The qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis techniques and the quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential methods (nonparametric tests). The needs assessment led to the identification of the following demands: the significance of retirement, financial planning, relationships, social skills, coping skills, use of free time, quality of life, and planning skills. The program, conducted in group format, involved eight weekly, two-hour sessions, using strategies such as informative presentations, discussions, group dynamics, and homework assignments. The results of the process-evaluation indicated strong social acceptance of the program (high attendance, completion of homework assignments, engagement in the proposed activities, and satisfaction with the sessions) and program implementation integrity. The effects-assessment indicated that the RPP improved the quality of the IG participants’ retirement life plans and their social skills repertoire, when compared with the CG, on both the posttest and follow-up assessments. In conclusion, this study models an approach that is theoretically-grounded, informed by previous interventions, needs-based, of moderate length, and able to improve the quality of the participants’ retirement plans and social skills, although the program does not address all the needs of pre-retirees, reported in the research literature. In future studies, the program should be evaluated with a larger number of participants and with people from other regions of the country.

    The present study has how aim to identify the existence of pleasure and suffering and respective strategies of mediation among the health´s area professionals. The place is a Public University located in the state of São Paulo state, in its medium complexity specialties ´s outpatient department, which is characterized for joining the work of teaching assistance, researching and extension. It´s an exploratory descriptive qualitative study, which took as methodology the use of the ITRA - (RIWI) (Risk Illness Work´s Inventory), to collect objective data and semi-structured interview for more subjective data collection, investigating the impressions of individuals about experiences at work. Participated in the survey 19 out of the 26 personnel in the local office. For the interview data analysis has been used the Baldin´s Analisysis Content and to the results interpretation the chosen theory was the Work´s Psychodynamic. Nowadays is identified in some health sectors a frequent suffering, which does those health professionals to suffer, leading to identify this project as important relevance. The reached result with this study surprises regarding the peculiar field aspects that is shown with an idealized prescribed work proposal the on the daily reality is not fulfilled as idealized leading to suffering face this contrariness. Among the aspects that indicates suffering are public services management problems that is bureaucratic hindering the workflow and difficulties to establishing the relations interdisciplinary/intersensory for the work achievement in such a way that it answers to the prescribed models. However, by having a shared management it gives opportunity to people through the sharing and acting freedom in your areas finding creative solutions for the suffering experienced in life, presenting defensives mediation strategy and subjective mobilization, this last is considered the healthier way to face the work suffering, according with work´s psychodynamic. This within others aspects reveals an environment with many pleasurable experiences that are balanced by the suffering existences, highlighting the feelings of professional realization, recognition gratification and valorization.

    Adhesion is dependent on the care model and its relationship to the person with health needs; model of care and form of relation that must consider the existential questions of the assisted subject. This study sought to understand the conceptions about oral health care of users of a Family Health Unit (USF) in the city. In the light of non - compliance. through the qualitative methodology, users who were not adherent to dental treatment were interviewed. From the construct, it was possible to describe the values and conceptions that people have about their oral health; to discuss the interference and meaning of these values, beliefs and conceptions about the behavior of the subject before his therapeutic plan and the routine care. As well as, describe the conceptions of people not adherent to the dental care offered by USF on aspects of care that would be important for their adherence. It was concluded that these subjects portrayed their own motivations, related to their social environment, the approach of professionals and linked to the care model to justify the option for non-adherence. From this point of view, one bets on more humane care practices to (re) signify postures that favor the affection of oral diseases.

    In this work, an alkaline and an acid bath, both containing sorbitol, for electrodeposition of Zn-Fe-P on Pt were developed. Furthermore, we also developed an acid bath, containing sorbitol and H3BO3 for electrodeposition of Zn-Ni-P on Pt. The characterization of plating baths by potentiometric titration showed in which pH the species of metallic ions were soluble and stable. The voltammetric studies indicated the possible co-deposit Zn, Fe and P and Zn, Ni and P from the proposed baths. Accordingly, the voltammetric curves of the individual metals obtained in the absence and presence of hypophosphite, for the three proposed baths, showed that this compound changed voltammetric deposition and dissolution profiles for Zn-P, Fe-P and Ni-P, suggesting the formation of these alloys. EDX analysis was used to confirm the co-deposition of Zn-Fe-P and Zn-Ni- P. Furthermore, indicate a critical potential where the alloy becomes rich in zinc in the Zn-Fe-P deposits system and shows that Zn-Ni-P deposits depends to ED and qD. Furthermore, it was possible to observe an inhibition behavior between Zn and P produced from the alkaline bath deposition of Zn-Fe-P and deposits obtained from the bath deposition of Zn-Ni-P. SEM analysis showed that Zn-Fe-P obtained from the alkaline bath was more superior than Zn-Fe-P deposits obtained from the acid bath and Zn-Ni-P deposits because it is, most often, uniform and doesn t have cracks neither dendrites. XRD analysis indicated that both Zn-Fe-P alloys as Zn-Ni-P alloys are formed by a mixture of phases.
