(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-19) Vasconcellos, Evandro Gianasi; Araújo, Luciana Sá Leitão Corrêa de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9890886509956837; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2417960107428452
This work aims to study the relationship between the “teatro de revista” (revue) and the musical comedies made by Luiz de Barros. An important name in the history of Brazilian cinema, Luiz de Barros made dozens of films during his long career as a filmmaker. However, he did not dedicate his activities only to cinema, having established also an important career in "teatro de revista" and other stage shows. Based on researches in periodicals and archives, it was made a survey of the many activities of the director. Full of attractions, the musical comedies used elements of mass culture, like popular music and carnival, to attract the audience, bringing also several aspects of the “teatro de revista” and other artistic forms. Through the analysis of the movies Berlim na batucada (Luiz de Barros, 1944) e Caídos do céu (Luiz de Barros, 1946), this research aims to study how the filmmaker articulated characteristic elements of the “teatro de revista” in his films, both in the narrative level and in relation to production, also investigating the casting of theatrical actors and musicians well known to the public. Thus, this work intends to expand a research field of the history of Brazilian cinema that studies the dialogue with other kinds of entertainment.

This paper discusses the Federal Government Program “Minha Casa Minha Vida” and its implementation in Piracicaba from the perspective of its interaction with the social capital in the “lens” designed by Robert Putnam. In particular, it seeks to understand the actions or reactions of the major social actors resulting from the implementation of the Program, in its context, in Piracicaba. To this end, in addition to market analyzes and their trends about prices, it was identified the main elements of social capital in order to verify their relations with the applicability public policy at the local level. It was also and firstly assumed that real estate and construction companies, in Piracicaba, had a social organization tight enough to gain advantage in the market by overpricing houses or lands and raise funds or subsidies that would be allocated a priori for a program with social order, all disguised in a market logic that legitimate opportunistic actions. As it will be shown, however, the absence of social capital - as the engagement elements, civility and even problems in facing embedded cultural values - can be obstacles to the implementation of an effective policy in solving the problems related to the issue of social housing in the country. It will also be observed that the social organization of the business community, particularly in the real estate entrepreneurs in Piracicaba, do not have enough tight relationships and social organization to confirm the initial proposal that they could have some control on the market prices.
