Item type:Item, Expressão gênica diferencial relacionada ao conteúdo de ferro no músculo em animais nelore(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-26) ;Diniz, Wellison Jarles da Silva ;Tizioto, Polyana Cristine ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4754030540306395 ;Regitano, Luciana Correia de Almeidahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/9595338480545794Iron (Fe) is an essential micronutrient for cellular homeostasis. Structural component of proteins or enzyme cofactor, Fe has participation in important metabolic pathways that include oxidative metabolism, oxygen transport, cell proliferation and immune system function. Despite of its essentiality, Fe has a toxic potential to cells when in excess. So, a sophisticated system is needed to coordinate the process of absorption, recycling, use and storage. Mutations in genes related to homeostasis of this mineral may potentially alter the cellular distribution and storage. Furthermore, the Fe levels affect biological pathways such as carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. Iron content in cattle muscle has been associated with many sensory and technological parameters of meat quality. However, to date, studies that evaluate how the iron levels in the muscle can alter gene expression and the consequences for the metabolism in cattle are still absent. Therefore, this study aims to identify differentially expressed genes, metabolic pathways, gene interactions and potential regulatory biological mechanisms of physiological processes related to meat quality parameters. Longissimus dorsi (LD) muscle were collected at slaughter for total RNA extraction and determination of CFe by optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES). Eight Nelore steers, who are representatives of extreme value for Genetic Genomic Estimate (GEBV) for iron content (CFe), were selected from a reference population of 373 animals. The sequencing of the total mRNA of extreme animals was carried out from the next generation Illumina technology, which resulted in average l9.13 million of reads per sample after quality control and trimming. Data analysis carried out by Tuxedo Suite pipeline identified 49 annotated and differentially expressed genes (DE) (FDR <0.05) between groups of extremes for GEBV value for CFe. From the DE genes, 18 genes were up-regulated and 31 down-regulated for animals of low GEBV for CFe. Candidate genes for meat quality traits were identified in this study and they are related to transport and lipid metabolism. Other pathways identified through functional enrichment analysis include cell growth and development, function of the hematological system, among others. Canonical signaling pathways (interferon signaling, thyroid receptor activation (TR/RXR) and complement system) and canonical metabolic pathways (biosynthesis of stearate, fatty acid biosynthesis and palmitate biosynthesis) were also identified. Although this study did not identify genes with direct role in the regulation of Fe content, our results suggest biological pathways influenced by this mineral and contribute with information to the understanding of their participation in processes affecting quality of meat. This information will be useful in developing strategies that contribute to the production of better quality meat, healthy and nutritionally rich. In addition, this information may help in understanding of metabolic disorders in other species, including humans.Item type:Item, Geração de energia elétrica domiciliar solar e eólica: análise das condições socioeconômicas para implantação em residências de baixo consumo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-26) ;Ciamponi, Celso Eduardo Souza ;Marques, Sílvio César Moral ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6047434055828372https://lattes.cnpq.br/6185622617604451This paper presents the results of the economic feasibility analysis of implementing a distributed generation system based on electricity produced from wind and / or solar systems in the cities of Sorocaba, São Paulo; Brasilia, Federal District; Rio Branco, Acre; Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul; Manaus, Amazonas and Fortaleza, Ceará. Thus, three scenarios were raised as well as the consumption of energy generated, in full or having to be complemented with the use of the normal distribution network. For each of the scenarios considered the following indicators were raised: NPV, IRR, and Payback final balance in the life of the equipment, based on a TMA equal to the government Selic rate. As a result we had a payback between 8 and 12 years in the best case scenario and between 12 and 16 years in the worst scenario analyzed, but all were positive NPV and final balance at the end of life of equipamrnto In this way it was possible to determine for these cities that the best structure to be implemented and serve as a basis for analyzing the implementation of this same infrastructure in other locations in Brazil, particularly in more remote places where access to electrification in the centralized system becomes more difficult to arrival.Item type:Item, Distribuições suportadas em um hiperplano e o espaço de Hardy hp(Rn)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-26) ;Pes, Ronaldo Bressan ;Santos, Luís Antônio Carvalho dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5936461714940890https://lattes.cnpq.br/1714247356061726The main aim of this work is to study necessary and sufficient conditions for a distribution, whose compact support is contained in a hyperplane, to be in the local Hardy space hp(Rn).Item type:Item, Uma abordagem orientada a modelos para desenvolvimento de sistemas ERP de varejo na Web utilizando características funcionais de usabilidade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-27) ;Quintale, Diego Heitzmann ;Zaina, Luciana Aparecida Martinez ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0192085115595443https://lattes.cnpq.br/5720627060444272ERPs are complex systems that handle large amounts of data and links among this data providing to its users different information. Usually, developers of this type of application dedicate their efforts to guarantee correctness of the functionality and information consistency; so usability issues become secondary. It is widely recognized that ERP systems own complex interfaces that negatively affect the ability to use these systems. However, it is observed that certain rules that assist to improve interfaces may be automated, thus it is possible to create automated processes to help the development of such applications. This work presents a model driven approach for retail ERP systems with functional usability features (functional features with high impact on usability), called FUF. This study consisted in two stages. In the first one was made literature and market research of retail ERP systems. The second step was the development of a metamodel for retail ERP systems with functional usability features, called MetaUsaERPWeb, it was also carried out the development of a M2C transformer for MetaUsaERPWeb with PHP target platform. Finally, in the last step, the validation of the proposal was made in a case study, with two tests: the first conducted an experimental study to validate the proposed approach against the traditional approach. The results showed that the groups using MetaUsaERPWeb were more efficient, produce more lines of code and better applications. The second analysis compared the applications developed from the traditional approach and the use of MetaUsaERPWeb (first analysis); the results showed that applications built with MetaUsaERPWeb violated least usability heuristics in 60 % of cases.Item type:Item, Diretrizes para projeto e desempenho de sistemas construtivos em painéis pré-moldados de concreto : edifícios habitacionais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-27) ;Strabeli, Giovana Innocenti ;Ferreira, Marcelo de Araújo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4199122391532470https://lattes.cnpq.br/6789623347205161The estimated housing deficit in Brazil was 5.6 million in 2008, in which 83.5% was in urban areas, wherein to meet such demand there is a need for industrialized construction. Prefabricated building systems with precast panels for residential buildings were largely applied in Europe after the Second World War and it has been applied recently in countries of Latin America and Asia. Although construction companies have been using building systems with precast panels for affordable housing in Brazil since the 80´s, the absence of a prescriptive code of practice for design of precast panels demands certification for each system, which needs to meet the performance requirements according to ABNT-NBR 15575:2013. In order to increase the application of prefabricated systems a new Brazilian Code of Practice for Precast Panels, based on international codes, has been concluded and it is now waiting for final approval. In order to achieve optimum performance, constructability and sustainability of the building project there is a need for integration between architectural and structural designs, as well the interaction between product and production, starting from product development based on the analysis of added value for each project until the rationalization of the processes. The level of prefabrication depends on the number and repetition of units. The aim of this research is to identify and define design guidelines based on performance for building systems with precast concrete panels for residential buildings. The literature revision was carried out starting from international references and codes until the study of the Brazilian codes of practice, including the new code for precast concrete panels. In addition, the research presents the main types of panels and typologies for residential buildings with potential to be applied in Brazil. Finally, an example of performance based design for precast concrete panels is presented with some discussions. This study demonstrate that architects and structural engineers can now design building systems with precast panels based on the new codes of practice and numeric simulations without the need of further tests for certification.Item type:Item, Estudo do metabolismo de Salmonella typhimurium : da abordagem tradicional à análise dos fluxos metabólicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-27) ;Sargo, Cíntia Regina ;Silva, Adilson José da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3447469350644179 ;Zangirolami, Teresa Cristinahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4546701843297248The genus Salmonella spp. has been extensively investigated because these bacteria are important pathogens that frequently cause severe diseases and gastrointestinal infections in humans and animals. Moreover, in recent years, Salmonella has called attention due to the excellent results in the production and in vivo delivery of various substances with potential application in Vaccinology. However, there is still little information available concerning aspects of its metabolism, which hampers both the development of new attenuated strains and the large-scale production of live cells and cellular components. Thus, this work aimed to study the S. typhimurium LT2 metabolism, using traditional and innovative approaches to investigate different carbon sources as well as different bioreactor operation modes and aeration conditions (aerobic and anaerobic). Results obtained in batch and chemostat cultivations indicated that S. typhimurium metabolism differs significantly from E. coli metabolism, closely related bacteria species with regard to the central carbon metabolism. The main difference observed between these bacteria was the high level of acetate production exhibited by S. typhimurium LT2 cells, which, differently from E. coli, occurred even at the lowest dilution rate evaluated. Currently, genome scale metabolic models are important tools for better understanding the phenotypic behavior of many organisms. Therefore the model STM_v1.0 reconstructed for S. typhimurium LT2 was evaluated, comparing experimental data, obtained in chemostat cultivations, with model predictions. Since this model was derived from E. coli model, the simulated results for biomass formation were overestimated and, consequently, predicted acetate fluxes were lower than those obtained experimentally. Therefore, to obtain experimental data useful to improve the model and to reach a better comprehension of S. typhimurium metabolism, the technique of metabolic flux analysis using isotopic labeled substrate was adopted, allowing determination of the fluxes for the main pathways of central carbon metabolism of Salmonella. This analysis revealed different preferred metabolic pathways depending on the specific growth rate. At the lowest dilution rate evaluated, D = 0.24 h-1, glucose was catabolized predominantly by the pentose phosphate and glycolysis pathways, while at the dilution rate of 0.48 h-1, the major pathway of glucose oxidation was Entner-Doudoroff. In addition, a relatively high flux through the citric acid cycle at the higher dilution rate studied was observed.Item type:Item, Secagem de pimenta-do-reino preta (Piper nigrum L.) em secador de leito fixo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-27) ;Alves, Danilo Aparecido Serafim ;Freire, Fábio Bentes ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8937961078558996 ;Freire, José Teixeirahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/2270677706718167The black pepper is the most important spice commercialized globally, with Brazil being one of the main producers in the world. Yet few studies to optimize the production of this commodity process have been found in the literature. The objective of this work was to study the drying the black pepper grains. The physicochemical characterization of the material with varying humidity, measuring linear dimensions (mean Sauter diameter, minimum, average and maximum diameter, and perimeter) was performed, as well as surface area, volume, sphericity, and also the bulk density, real and bulk, porosity and grain. Drying experiments were conducted in a hothouse at different temperatures. Assays were carried out a fixed-bed dryer for determination of the thin layer. Drying kinetics experiments were performed on a thin layer in a dryer with forced convection temperature ranging from 50 to 70 °C, and air velocity of 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 m/s. With these data, there have been adjustments of Lewis, Page and Overhults equations, and the Forward model with simplifying assumptions for the diffusivity. The results obtained show that the diffusive model was the most suitable. It also promoted the essential oil extraction of the grains and the results are consistent with the literature.Item type:Item, O processo de ensino-aprendizagem de libras por meio do moodle da UAB-UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-27) ;Campos, Mariana de Lima Isaac Leandro ;Lacerda, Cristina Broglia Feitosa de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9468232016416725https://lattes.cnpq.br/9292606169704319The development of Libras teaching-learning conditions for distance education is necessary in the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (Ufscar) and other higher education institutions. It is pivotal discussing the topic since there are few researches about it. This study presents the researches and analyses of Libras teaching-learning aspects as a second language in distance education by Learning Management System (LMS) and via Moodle. To that end, the research considered the environment suitableness and the communication and interaction processes between the LMS agents (students, tutors and professors). A mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) was applied to on-line questionnaires regarding the Libras I course from the Education and Musical Education departments in UAB-Ufscar. Further, the agents’ opinions and perceptions concerning the tools, the pedagogical procedures and the learning/teaching interaction were analyzed. The analysis was based on Bakhtin’s theoretical assumptions regarding the fundamental dialogical interactions in the language teaching-learning process, which was applied to Libras in this study. The subjects surveyed were 103 students (whose data were clustered in Study 1); 9 virtual tutors (whose data were clustered in Study 2) and 3 professors (whose data were clustered in Study 3). A protocol was set up to analyze this data and according to it, for Study 1, the data was organized and split in the following categories: a) Tools; b) Pedagogical procedures; c) Learning aspects. For Study 2: a) Virtual tutoring experiences; b) LMS tools; c) Interaction and learning. For Study 3: a) Virtual teaching experiences; b) Distance interaction with students. The opinions and perceptions regarding different items got good ratings by the LMS agents and the course, in general, seems to have reached its goals. The researchers analyzed the propositions shown by the agents and they indicate an enhancement of Libra courses in order to make them more accessible to hearing students.Item type:Item, Diagnóstico da implantação do BIM em empresas construtoras com foco nos processos de planejamento, orçamento e controle de obras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-27) ;Costa, José Martins Cavalcanti da ;Serra, Sheyla Mara Baptista ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8528385567782505https://lattes.cnpq.br/4741499903547091The budget, proper planning and control play a vital role in getting profit in the current scenario in the construction sector, and the Building Information Modeling (BIM) can be a key factor in the success of businesses. In such places, a microbial activity not only promotes the transformation of these compounds into products such as CO2 or methane, but also convert them into highly toxic and/or carcinogenic compounds. Some of the metabolites resulting from biotransformation process are benzylsuccinic acid, 2-methylbenzylsuccinic acid, isomers of toluic acid and benzoic acid. The aim of this study is to increase knowledge about the biodegradation of monoaromatic hydrocarbons in soils, by investigating their removal under three different conditions, and to evaluate the formation products associated with their degradation. This work was carried out with series of anaerobic microcosms with three different electron acceptors acting as oxidants: sulfate, nitrate and iron (III). The individual effect of each in a soil contaminated with BTEX and another set containing a mixture of these electron acceptors with soil contaminated with conventional diesel were investigated. The concentrations of BTEX and metabolites were monitored for 90 days. Previously, it was necessary to develop suitable analytical methods for monitoring BTEX through gas chromatography coupled with flame ionization detection (GC/FID) while high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a mass spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) was used for determining the metabolites. A preliminary microbiological characterization of groups of bacteria was carried out, showing a prevalence of nitrate-reducing bacteria in the soil utilized. Evidence that the BTEX compounds may be removed in anaerobic conditions linked to nitrate and sulfate reduction were found. Using iron (III) like electron receptor was not observed a significant decrease in the concentration of contaminants during the three months of incubation, except for toluene. Results also show that toluene was the compound quite easily degraded in anaerobic conditions in soil, enriched with different electron acceptors. On the other hand the appearance of metabolites was quickly detected in the series of experiments employing nitrate, due to the higher content of native nitrate reducing bacteria in the soil, associated with the fact that nitrate has a higher oxidizing power from the electron receptors studied. In case of iron (III), metabolites were slow to appear, however higher concentrations were detected mainly of benzylsuccinic acid from toluene degradation. To establish a scenario more realistic of contamination, a soil was artificially contaminated with diesel. However, due to the large number of compounds present in the fuel, the toxicity of the medium was increased, causing inhibition of the biological activity and thus affecting the efficiency of BTEX removal.Item type:Item, Uma proposta metodológica para o ensino das funções trigonométricas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Batista, Valéria Nogueira ;Seixas, Wladimirhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1697352974728327This research has focused primarily on teaching trigonometric sine and cosine functions. The proposal is to organize the teaching of these functions, in order to improve good learning situations to students, to encourage the transition of trigonometric ratios in right triangle to the trigonometric circle with the use of manipulative materials and GeoGebra software. Based on the theoretical assumptions described in the High School National Curriculum Standards and Curriculum of the State of São Paulo seeking to outline for the teacher, the skills and expertise that student must acquire to be made in basic education, are presented educational alternatives. It aims to help students understand the need and the practical applicability of Trigonometric Functions. Analyzing how these functions are covered in the curriculum documents and books of the National Textbook Program (PNLD 2015), we tried to develop a pioneering work and research including mathematical modeling and taking as reference the exploratory and investigative activities.Item type:Item, A interpretação de Descartes nas Lições sobre a história da filosofia de Hegel(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Cherri, Carlos Gustavo Monteiro ;Baioni, José Eduardo Marques ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9613180348313909https://lattes.cnpq.br/5503137658927438According to Hegel the Modern philosophy begins with Descartes. In this sense, we proposed to investigate what are the consequences of such a statement in the Hegelian conception of History of Philosophy. The relevance of this issue is the meaning of the discipline History of Philosophy as it be understand by Hegel. The History of Philosophy is the exhibition’s of philosophy itself and the means for their intelligibility. The systems that arise in the way of History of Philosophy are the particular settings of a unique and overall Philosophy. The latest philosophies contain the above philosophies as one-sided or principles of your system. The philosophical progression advances of more abstract concepts to more concrete concepts. Therefore what is the revolution promoted by Cartesian thought, what this philosopher could start a new figure in the overall configuration of Philosophy? For the role of Descartes can be clarified, we studied the works Principles of the Philosophy, Metaphysical Meditations, and Discourse on Method of Descartes, as well as the chapter on Descartes in Vorlesungen über die Geschichte der Philosophie, the Introduction to the Lectures on the History of Philosophy, and the Encyclopedia of Philosophical Sciences of Hegel. From the progression of Hegelian exposition, we analyzed as Hegel understands the Cartesian doubt, the formulation of the cogito, the idea of God and the divine veracity, primordial determinations of thought of Descartes, Hegel as highlighted by its principles, supporting our argumentation in considerations of Andrews, Bourgeois, Lebrun and Weiss. Recognizing the value of Descartes consists in the formulation of the unity of being and thinking, even if naively, Hegel says that such a notion is the most interesting of Modern Philosophy, because it identifies the moment of understanding metaphysics, abstract understanding, the first way of thinking, which precedes the time of dialectical thinking and speculative thought. If the History of Philosophy is the development and intelligibility own philosophy, we decided to put in relief, separately in Appendix, the Hegelian conceptions in the teaching of philosophy, both in the Secondary Education, responsible for the education of young people, as the University.Item type:Item, Sentidos dados por profissionais da atenção primária à participação das famílias no processo de cuidado de pessoas com Síndrome de Down(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Caliri, Mariana ;Fontanella, Bruno José Barcellos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0111581000671476https://lattes.cnpq.br/2509763117517389This study was developed using a qualitative method to achieve its general objective: understand some of the meanings attributed by Primary Health Care (PHC) professionals to the roles that families would perform, according to themselves, in the health-disease process of people with Down Syndrome (DS). For that end, an interview corpus that had already been analyzed for other specific objectives was used. A new reading of this corpus confirmed the relevance of the family theme for the interviewees. For this study, the authors considered the assumption that understanding what the professionals think about the families of DS carriers can help improve care for these patients and their families. The analyzed corpus was composed of 16 semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions that were applied to Family Health Strategy professionals of the city of São Carlos, state of São Paulo. The discourse content analysis technique was used while trying to identify, in addition to the themes and subthemes in the interviews, possible representations and experiences of the interviewees on the subject. The identified subthemes were grouped into three thematic categories, with a total of 15 subthemes. The results of this study, which addressed a “micro” context, make it possible to glimpse a “macro” reality, which is possibly experienced by PHC professionals in Brazil in general. The professionals attribute roles and responsibilities to the families that do not seem to be fully shared by the Family Health Units. The professionals perceive many aspects of the families, pointing to some of their needs, the roles that the families perform in their perception and other aspects that influence the care offered by the families. Such perceptions contribute to a critical reflection regarding the practices of healthcare services. They acknowledge weak points and potentialities in family participation. The data obtained suggests that it is important to conduct further research with PHC professionals that are focused on the type of practice that is performed with the families of people with DS, especially in a context where it is possible glimpse changes resulting from the implementation of the National Policy of Comprehensive Care in Clinical Genetics.Item type:Item, Estudo de nova fórmula de caracteres para representações de Álgebra de Lie semissimples(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Gutierrez, Gonzalo Emanuel Matías ;Schützer, Waldeck ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8638200922501477https://lattes.cnpq.br/1896861597745813The objective of this dissertation is descrive formally the irreducible representations of finitedimensional semisimple Lie algebras g over a field F algebraically closed with characteristic zero, as also get some multiplicity formulas that allow compute the dimension of the weight space in the representation and also the quantity of weight. In this regard, the newness of this work is the study of a new characters formula, recently published by Schützer [Sch12], and this based in one combinatory given only in terms of not simple positive roots of the Lie algebra. The main results of this dissertation are reviewed and clarified.Item type:Item, O uso do software Modellus na formação inicial dos licenciandos em Física dentro da abordagem metodológica da sala de aula invertida(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Tomanik, Marcelo ;Arantes, Alessandra Riposati ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6742903299047989https://lattes.cnpq.br/6098995601989014This paper presents an application experience of the methodology called Flipped Classroom in a class of undergraduates in physics at the University of Uberlandia, using a computational mathematical modeling software, the Modellus, in its version 0.4.05, which stands for a simulation capability of varying phenomena, especially those studied in physics teaching. The goal pursued in carrying out the experiment, and this paper, was to demonstrate the practicability of applying the methodology called Flipped Classroom from the development of simple instructional materials and the use of resources available to most physics teachers. The choice of Modellus, as base of the experience, was for its undeniable usefulness as an educational tool for teachers and undergraduate students of Physics and a felt need for dissemination of this software. In this paper we present the description of the materials developed, the way of their development and the instruments used for the implementation of experience and the collect of its results. Because of Modellus employment with undergraduate students, a chapter was dedicated to briefly describing the trajectory of teachers graduation in Physics in Brazil until today and another discussing the importance of mathematical modeling in teaching, as well as a literature review of studies related to modeling and / or Modellus. Experiment results reinforce not only the practicability of the inverted Classroom, but also the need for greater disclosure of Modellus between teachers and undergraduates, which led to the preparation of a written tutorial covering the entire contents of physics used in the experiment.Item type:Item, Identificação, caracterização e validação de sequências microssatélites no genoma do mico-leão-preto (Leontopithecus chrysopygus)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Pardo, Priscilla Pina ;Freitas, Patrícia Domingues de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5647631868534064https://lattes.cnpq.br/9660740513799976The black lion tamarin (Leontopithecus chrysopygus) is one of the most endangered neotropical primates and the historical causes that led them to the brink of extinction are closely related to the history of the Atlantic Rainforest. Among its main threats are the fragmentation of their habitat, the small number of his surviving populations and the isolation of them, which directly affect the genetic structure of these populations. The use of genetic analysis and molecular markers for the wildlife conservation have been growing over the past few years with the advent of genetic and molecular technologies and bioinformatics, allowing the establishment of rapid diagnosis of diseases and many genetic and ecological parameters such as migration rate, population size, genetic diversity, kinship relations. Among the main molecular markers are microsatellite that consist of short DNA sequences tandemly repeated composed of 1 to 6 bases pairs widely distributed in eukaryotic and prokaryotic genomes. Characteristics like codominance and high level of polymorphism make microsatellites an important tool to measure the loss of genetic diversity and recent changes in genetic structure of populations, and for use in forensic investigations. Among the methods used for the isolation of such markers, is the in silico mining for species with available genetic data. In the present study, we identified 60 tetranucleotide microsatellite loci have been identified in the genome of common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) through data mining conducted in the genome of this species. Primer pairs were designed and tested in black lion tamarin, since this kind does not have any genomic data available. Of the 60 loci tested, 87% had successful amplification of DNA samples from 10 captive animals. PCR products were analyzed on agarose gel and 13 loci were genotyped in automatic sequencer ABI3730XL. The Geneious version 8.1.6 software was used for genotyping. Only four loci showed polymorphism, observed two alleles per locus. This low polymorphism may be associated with the origin of the captive colonies.Item type:Item, Reconfiguração do mercado brasileiro de música : os incumbentes e os novos capitais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Toyama, Míriam Costa ;Côrtes, Mauro Rocha ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8988613760967305 ;Alves Filho, Alceu Gomeshttps://lattes.cnpq.br/7885557554922569This doctoral dissertation seeks to explain the changes in the music market in the last decade using the Field Theory, by Fligstein and McAdam (2012). Thus, we consider the music market a strategic field of action, which, according to the authors is in frequent adjustment and are subject to external shocks. In this way, through events in nearby fields, the development of innovations that allowed the unauthorized sharing and downloading content over the internet has had a profound impact on the music market, and later on other cultural goods markets. Initial reactions of the incumbent actors have been through strategies that had already been used in earlier times: law suits, educational campaigns and pressuring the government in favor of a stronger legislation. Thus, the reactions of incumbent actors were acoording to what explains the theory, the use of strategies known to restore the status quo. However, due to the crisis that shook the ability of incumbent actors to reproduce their advantages, new players entered the market. In addition, incumbent actors gave way and changed their business models, establishing relations with the new entrants, and adopting new business models leveraging the internet as a means of distribution, dissemination and others. Record companies also started expande their activtities, working with artist's career management. Thus, according to the analysis of the work, we concluded that there was a change in the business model, and that in the Brazilian case these changes followed the international trends. Through research field we conclude that Brazilian companies have adopted the distribution of digital music through online stores and through cell phone companies, streaming services as well as the actors have adopted the 360 contracts.Item type:Item, Aplicação do método biomimético para o recobrimento da liga AZ91 com apatitas para aumento da resistência à corrosão(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-28) ;Ramasco, Bruno Torquato ;Thomazini, Anahi Herrera Aparecida ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9432162395399218 ;Bolfarini, Claudemirohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/9231627080617037In orthopedic medicine and traumatology, the use of implants to help bone reconstitution is very common. They are divided in two groups: Internal and external fixation devices. After bone reconstitution, these components lose their function and therefore must be removed. However, in many cases, due to the cost or patient suffering, the devices are not removed. To avoid this, are under development bioabsorbable alloys that after bone healing degrade and are absorbed by the body, not requiring its removal. Among them, magnesium based alloys are under the spot. Regular magnesium alloys, however, present one main drawback: High corrosion rate, which leads to mechanical properties loss before the bone reconstitution and excessive production of gas hydrogen, leading to the formation of gas pockets, which cause adverse reactions and inhibit bone growth. This study aims to investigate surface coatings on the commercial alloy AZ91 in order to decrease the corrosion rate, making the material suitable for the use as biodegradable implants. Three modified SBF solutions were employed to coat the surfaces with apatites using the biomimetic method. The influences of pre-treatment of the samples in NaOH solution and heat treatment after coating on the electrochemical behavior of produced coatings were investigated. The results showed that the use of biomimetic method using modified SBF solutions was effective to produce apatite phases on the surface of the magnesium commercial alloy AZ91, considered a more suitable bone replacement than HA. The coated samples presented higher corrosion resistance than the uncoated material, as evaluated by electrochemical tests. This behavior was more pronounced for coatings obtained after the use of pre-treatment NaOH solution.Item type:Item, Fotossensibilizadores no controle de larvas do Aedes aegypti (Diptera : Culicidae)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-31) ;Souza, Larissa Marila de ;Kurachi, Cristina ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0194007981724312 ;Bagnato, Vanderlei Salvadorhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4947860249518663The Aedes aegypti mosquito is the main responsible for the transmission of dengue. Among numerous alternatives to combat vector, we can cite the use of photosensitizers (PSs) as inactivating of Aedes aegypti larvae. These compounds are able to interact with the light in a specific wavelength, so the cause highly reactive cytotoxic oxygen, resulting in the oxidation of biological targets. The present study had as main objective to analyze the phototoxic effects of PSs: Photogem® and turmeric, in three molecular variations (curcumin, curcuminoids pigment mixture (curcumin, desmethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin) and curcumin in sucrose), against Aedes aegypti larvae under different conditions of delivery of the PSs and lighting. The experiments of this study were divided into two stages: i) Photogem® and the three compositions of turmeric were applied in trials of photodynamic inactivation (PDI) in solution. The groups that received the Photogem®, were also fed with two different types of food, in order to verify the influence of these foods on larval mortality. ii) in a second step the three compositions of turmeric were incorporated in pet food, where it obtained a lyophilized powder, which was subsequently offered to the larvae for scanning. After the receipt of the PSs in solution as in the form of freeze-dried powder, the larvae were irradiated with two sources of light: artificial and natural. In addition to the trials of mortality, other studies were performed, such as checking the time of degradation of PSs when exposed to light, the anatomical location of accumulation of FSs in the larvae, and characterization studies of the product obtained in the form of lyophilized powder. On PDI with the Photogem® comparing the foods, exposed to artificial lighting, one of the foods introduced a higher mortality, indicating the importance of this on effectiveness of PDI. Already on PDI with variations of turmeric, mortality rates varied according to the molecular forms of this compound, showing high mortality for curcumin and curcumin in sucrose. In conditions involving sunlight, high mortality rates were obtained for all FSs delivered solution, featuring in various conditions 100% mortality in 8 hours from exposure to light. For IFD using the freeze-dried powder of three variations of turmeric and sunlight, mortalities in the order of 80% were achieved in lighting 16 hours. The analysis of the fluorescence image obtained by confocal microscope showed that both the three variations of turmeric, such as Photogem®, after an incubation period of 12 hours, accumulated throughout the alimentary canal of the larvae. The Photogem®, as well as turmeric showed potent photodynamic activity being more effective in conditions with higher light intensities. Regarding the delivery conditions of the PS, we observe that the highest values of mortality were obtained through the application of PSs in solution, when compared with the mortality studies using the freeze-dried powder. These results indicate that PDI can be a promising technique in the control of vectors as the Aedes aegypti.Item type:Item, Saberes tácitos na colheita manual do tomate: estudo de caso a partir da perspectiva da ergonomia(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-08-31) ;Silva, Fabiana Raulino da ;Fontes, Andréa Regina Martins ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4848646681792317https://lattes.cnpq.br/7581031286080881The variability in agricultural work makes it difficult to be described without considering the complexity of it. Workers in tomato harvesting make the selection of the fruit distinguishing which tomatoes are suitable for harvest, which are not matured yet and which should be discarded, identifying the causes of defects and irregularities. These workers know the quality parameters without having any formal training. This knowledge is fundamental to regulate the strategies of these workers and should be enriched. This research shows a two-year period of immersion in the context of agriculture along with these workers, in order to analyze the importance of tacit knowledge involved in agricultural practice, understanding how this knowledge acquired in practice serve as the basis for all practical labor. As methodology, our study used ergonomics to understand the work of tomato pickers and identify how their knowledge guide the selection of the fruit for harvest. A multiple case study was conducted in three farms through the perspective of ergonomics. We used free observations through semi-structured interview and analysis of the speeches of workers to identify how this knowledge is transmitted and its importance. Our results show that workers must build a mental map, a reference in their mind of how a proper fruit look alike to be harvested. This representation brings several sensorial information that make them choose the fruit through its various features. Even without having received any formal training, the features identified in the fruit are the same listed in formal classification documents. It was noticed that although tacit knowledge is difficult to verbalize, women were able to express in a wider range of words the characteristics of the fruit that guided their actions. Learning of workers is intrinsically related to existing cooperation at work, as they teach each other in mutual aid during the execution of the harvest. For future work, we suggest other studies from ergonomics perspective, suggesting a work transformation to facilitate the sharing of knowledge of these workers.
