listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Gerações travestis: corpo, subjetividade e geracionalidade entre travestis do interior de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-12-10) Miguel, Luiz Henrique; Leite Júnior, Jorge; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7253561448346772; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5664408512526082This research seeks understanding how different transvestite's generations that prostitutes themselves in the countryside of São Paulo built their bodies and subjectivities. I seek to understand the existence of the pressure between this identity project and the creation of two categories, the older and younger, observing the detachment and existent approximation between different generation of transvestites, just like specific valuations of some bodies and behaviors from each one of them. The study realized in Sao Carlos and Ribeirao Preto undertook ethnography at the prostitution areas and the transvestites homes, combined with online contacts through social media like Facebook©. Based on Queer theory, the Brazilian studies about the travestite‟s and the the idea of "generationality" and aging, I seek the creation of particular idea of being young and aging as travestite for the ones that prostitute themselves. Seeing that for this group aging is not only related with the age but with a specific relationship with the body, the job market and the social relationships that develops and keep the environment where they live.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, “Confrontos” de ROTA : a intervenção policial com “resultado morte” no estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-12-10) Macedo, Henrique de Linica dos Santos; Sinhoretto, Jacqueline; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7743699562476490; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1292400536250492This research aimed to understand the discourses about the Ronda Ostensivas Tobias de Aguiar (ROTA), focusing on the speech of Police officers and politicians over control the "organized crime." Therefore, we analyzed two recent episodes of "Confrontation" between Police and incriminated subjects (Itatiba - SP in May 2011 and Várzea Paulista - SP, in September 2012) that ended with large numbers of "Suspects" killed. We took this two emblematic cases as a way to cut temporally two distinct periods, before the so-called " public security crisis " apparent normality, and the other period in which the socalled" crisis "occurred, producing increase homicide rate in São Paulo. Documents were analyzed as case of studies, master's workes and professional thesis produced by officers in Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo (PMESP), News, newspapers, press officer of the Secretary of Public Security and speaking managers of Public Security. As a significant result, we found that since 2009, the State of São Paulo, there was a direction of PMESP activities in "combat organized crime "that had the support of other sectors of the justice system and state administration, such as the Public Ministry and Secretary of Administration prison that provided information to ROTA, looking for integrated approach against "PCC". The integration between agencies was maintained in relative secrety, while procedures adopted in the "fight agains to organized crime" remained opaque by the whole process, reflecting praticies of a militarized strategy favoring lethality and use of force as means of crime control, and instead of controlling the "violence", he turned out to produce it, especially in the year 2012.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Comportamento mecânico de poli(éter-éter-cetona) revestida com hidroxiapatita por aspersão plasma para uso em implantes cirúrgicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-12-10) Oliveira, Thiago Patrício de; Sousa, José Alexandrino de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7737833809468759; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7502315112498839The remarkable advances in scientific research of materials for ever demanding service requirements has led to novel developments of biomaterials, especially in the field of surgical implants. In this field, the semi-crystalline thermoplastic PEEK (poly-ether-ether-ketone) has been selected as one of the most suitable for orthopaedic applications. Due to its excellent short and long term mechanical properties and also associated to its elastic modulus compatibility with that of the human bone, the polymer safely fulfills the mechanical and biological requirements for injection moulded implants with complex design. However, as also verified with metallic implants, the PEEK osteointegration is slow and, therefore, can be enhanced with bioactive ceramics coatings of hydroxyapatite (HA), obtained mostly using plasma spray technique. However, as the high temperatures related to the plasma process can impair significantly its mechanical performance, this study aims to investigate the influence of the plasma spray process on the mechanical fatigue behaviour of injection moulded PEEK coated with HA. Using mechanical test specimens with three distinct treatments: (i) PEEK as molded, (ii) PEEK with thermal plasma shock and (iii) HA plasma coated PEEK, several characterization techniques, which include X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), short-term tensile and flexural tests, dynamic-mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) and deformation-controlled flexural fatigue tests were performed. The quality of HA coating was considered adequate, as identified by X-ray and SEM analysis. The experimental data on the main mechanical characterization of HA coated PEEK, demonstrated that the plasma treatment contributes to a significant increase in the short-term flexural elastic modulus and strength properties and also reduces the stress relaxation rate (residual stress) during the fatigue cycling up to one million cycles. These increases in the flexural stiffness and residual fatigue stress of PEEK are induced by a increase in the polymer crystallinity content and the presence of additional thermal residual surface stresses on the PEEK surface exposed to the plasma thermal shock, as identified by DSC and DMTA analysis.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, KIRT : uma técnica de leitura baseada em informações-chave e visualização para inspeção de código com suporte computacional(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-12-10) Belgamo, Anderson; Fabbri, Sandra Camargo Pinto Ferraz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2204086299921323; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9955889801376750Code inspection is an important activity to assure the software quality that, in some cases, shows a better performance than the testing activity. Its application depends on the use of reading techniques that assist the inspector both in understanding the code and in executing the inspection. Although there are some reading techniques that support code inspection, Stepwise Abstraction, for example, was set to the procedural paradigm and requires that even the simplest code be abstracted. Other techniques such as Checklist, Use Case based, etc., are prone to the inspector’s experience since they do not provide a systematic procedure and they are not supported by facilitating resources. A computer-aided code inspection providing visualization facilities for applying Stepwise Abstraction – the CRISTA tool - was developed in another work of this research group. This tool has shown to be an effective and efficient approach for code inspection. Objective: To present the reading technique KIRT (Key-Information Reading Techniques) that was defined through operational scenarios, in order to establish systematic guidelines for conducting the code inspection. KIRT was based on reading patterns obtained from the analysis of the inspectors’ behaviors, considering features of the object-oriented paradigm, and using visual metaphors that guide the inspector during the inspection. Method: Considering the intention of understanding how the code inspection is carried out in practice, the research was based evolutive cycles, performed through four cycles that were the basis for defining and evaluating KIRT. In each cycle, studies were performed to generate subsidies for supporting subsequent cycles. The KIRT technique was set with the main purpose of identifying defects and, in addition, source code improvements. Once defined, three experimental studies were conducted to: (i) evaluate the contribution of the visual metaphor implemented in CRISTA tool for defects identification; (ii) evaluate KIRT technique (using two different metrics) regarding the effectiveness and efficiency in the identification of defects and source code improvements; (iii) evaluate KIRT technique in relation to the Checklist technique. Results: The results of the experimental studies showed that (i) the visual metaphor influenced the number of source code improvements and false positives identified; (ii) KIRT technique (instantiated by two distinct metrics) was complementary; (iii) the effectiveness and efficiency of the KIRT technique were better than Checklist. Conclusion: In the experimental studies the KIRT technique showed satisfactory results regarding the effectiveness and efficiency in identifying defects, and generated few false positives. Moreover, the KIRT technique identified more source code improvements than Checklist. Based on the results we can say that KIRT technique can be used for code inspection in practice, mainly because they are supported by CRISTA, which provides procedures and visual metaphors for conducting the code inspection activity. Consequently, if they reach the objective of identifying defects, we can say that they contribute to the overall quality of the software.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Proposta metodológica para análise dos resultados de avaliações dos cursos de graduação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-12-10) Sudan, Alessandra Maria; Rothen, José Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1942510389127549; Côrtes, Mauro Rocha; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8988613760967305; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6814831032119487This research is part of the institutional evaluation field, in particular, the evaluation of undergraduate courses, aiming the development of a methodology for analyzing the results of the evaluation process as a way to subsidize on a broad perspective the decision-making, and more specifically, the reformulation processes. The proposed methodology seeks to integrate information from different evaluation processes related to undergraduate programs, with emphasis on those established by the Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior (National Higher Education Evaluation System, SINAES) to analyze them critically. In this case, the report of the institutional self-assessment, the report of the Commissions assessment in loco of the Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais “Anísio Teixeira” (National Institute of Educational Studies and Research “Anísio Teixeira”, INEP), coming from the regulatory processes of recognition and renewal of recognition of undergraduate courses and the course report of the Exame Nacional de Desempenho de Estudantes (National Examination of Student Performance Report, ENADE). In addition to these, it will be exemplified other internal and /or external indicators that may be included when they’re relevant to the course. The objective is to stimulate analysis of the results of evaluation processes which underwent certain undergraduate courses, organizing information and making it accessible to those involved with the course, especially the academic bodies responsible for formulating a critical and systemic diagnosis on the implementation of the Educational Project Course and, when appropriate, for proposing modifications. The theoretical framework proposed for this analysis is based on the concept of emancipatory evaluation, whose basic principle is the pursuit of transformation of a given reality from a participatory assessment process. The preparation of the methodological proposal was preceded by bibliographical and documentary research that theoretically grounded it and then was developed experimentally in an undergraduate degree at UFSCar. The methodology we used for the development of the proposal was the action-research, and in order to validate it, it was held the meeting of the focus group with the teachers of the course. The central idea of the proposal is to collect, organize and analyze the indicators resulting from internal and external evaluation processes of undergraduate courses, organizing the information into large dimensions for a critical comparison of results from different sources. In this paper, a pilot spreadsheet was developed in twelve dimensions that organizes the extracted results from different sources of information, thus contributing with a comparative analysis and critique of each dimension evaluated. The results showed that this methodological approach proved to be appropriate to support the analysis performed by teachers on the results of evaluations to which the course has been submitted. The authors emphasize the importance of the multiple evaluation processes for the construction of a broad diagnosis of the current situation; More than that, it was found that the process of analyzing the information organized as proposed favors collective discussion on the Pedagogical Project of the Course and encourages educational evaluation culture in its formative and emancipatory sense; It showed up, too, the importance of an education expert who has knowledge of the methodological approach and on the evaluation processes.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O viés da moda alinhado ao turismo: a influência das dicas de turismo publicadas em blogs de moda e beleza(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2015-12-10) Bosco, Giovana Miras; Somaschini, Maria Helena Matttos Barbosa dos Santos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3419477918842537The aim of this work is to analyze the behavior of 21st century female consumers through information about tourism on fashion and beauty blogs. The hypothesis is that the current innovation policies progressively link the work of the professor-researcher to the business sector. In order to analyze the hypothesis, the political and institutional relations of the University of São Paulo were studied, more precisely in the campus of Ribeirão Preto, as well as their articulations with public-private sectors and partnerships. Documentary analyses and data collection on innovations, applied researches, incubator companies and productions and service rendering interpreted by the area of Science and Technology were held, as well as four semistructured interviews with innovation agents. It was found that the University of São Paulo constituted its own institutional arrangements by means of articulations with institutions specifically in the municipality of Ribeirão Preto. Furthermore, institutions of the university are relevant in this process, such as USP Agency of Innovation. However, it was found that Fundação Instituto Polo Avançado da Saúde de Ribeirão Preto (FIPASE), a municipal foundation which supports innovation, encourages specific political and institutional devices for the incentive and development of researches applied to the demands of the business sector, in order to induce the researchers in the university to carry out certain practices of innovation. Consequently, it also induces part of the graduation research of the campus to turn into applied research centers, enabling the creation of spin-off companies. It is pointed out that these institutional arrangements for the development of the applied research, however, would not be possible without relevant changes in the professorresearchers‘ working hours, undertaken by them, based on decisions in the university which result in regulations and resolutions that make flexible and encourage the relation university-company. It can be concluded that, in spite of the narrowing of the link between the work of the professor-researcher in the Science and Technology area and the business sector, the innovation policy in the campus of Ribeirão Preto meets the interests of the academic community much more than the ones of the business sector itself, and that, in this process, contradictorily, it is the university that reconfigures itself to the patterns of the logic of the businesses, typical of the companies, rather than the companies that modify themselves or develop the practice of research and production of the technological knowledge, typical of the university and the scientific area.
