Historically, in Brazil, small farms were used as a source of livelihood or recreation areas, currently also as a way to supplement income or a way to ensure security. These small investors, for lack of knowledge often end up leaving to make economic analyzes and market behavior before engaging in forestry projects. The work aimed to study the behavior of prices of eucalyptus wood and gum rosin of Pinus elliottii and the economic viability of traditional manner and project alternative that aim to produce these two products. For this we used econometric univariate models to forecast the prices of the products studied, finding a maximum error of 4.65%. Conditional heteroscedasticity models were applied to predict the volatility of resin prices and eucalyptus wood prices for the process, which were 5.72% and 4.28% per month respectively. The bootstrap simulation method was used to determine the volatility of pine resin prices, and obtained a value of 8.76%. The theory of real options was used to determine the economic viability of projects, had their results compared with traditional methodologies. Furthermore, the volatility obtained by the conditional heterocedasticity model and the bootstrap alternative approaches were applied to this theory, no difference in volatility analysis obtained by the bootstrap method. It is indicated greater care in feasibility studies for forest projects across the long term that they demand and due to different results according to each methodology as demonstrated in this work.

This study investigates the influence of Law 12.711/12 on the educational expectations of graduating young black high school of Paulo de Almeida Nogueira School of Cosmopolis - SP. Racial inequalities in Brazilian society, particularly in the federal public university, have been combated by the Brazilian State with Affirmative Action Policies for blacks in education. The Law 12.711/12 created the reserve positions of Federal Institutions of Higher Education for students, blacks and indigenous people, public school. The field research was conducted in two phases. At first, a questionnaire to all graduating junior high school has been applied. In the second, we interviewed fourteen young blacks. We found the prevalence of the myth of racial ideologies of democracy and meritocracy in positions of black youth as ways to cover up racial inequality and, in turn, deny the Affirmative Action Policy, in particular the Law 12.711/12. Affirmative Action policies are the result of social struggles of black movements to combat racial inequality covert racism, prejudice and racial discrimination. However, we found ambiguity in the positions of the research subjects in relation to the law, because they do not adhere to the waves of reserve policies to access the public university because they consider that are not inferior by race and skin color - they believe in equality as structuring of race relations. On the other, question the precariousness of public school that does not prepare them to have access to public higher education. They consider that young people from private schools have more access to public universities. We note, too, that their positions are aligned with the space that his parents occupy in capitalist society. The survey results showed that the Law 12.711/12 does not influence the educational expectations of young black public high school, for expressing wish to enter the labor market and continue studies in technical courses and / or private universities.

School inclusion is not represented only by the registration of intellectual disabled children, but their stay and ensuring an effective education that should happen from kindergarten. Considering this need, the research aimed to describe and analyze the process of intervention between the professor of Early Childhood Education of the common class and the teacher of Special Education with a view to training based on collaborative learning and adaptation activity. The specific objectives were: a) analyze the Child Education teacher knowledge of common teaching and teacher of Special Education before and after training on collaborative learning and adaptation activities; b) describe and analyze as teacher of Early Childhood Education of the common teaching and teacher of Special Education develop teaching practice with children with intellectual disabilities; c) describe the process of intervention with children's activities to adapt with intellectual disabilities in order to promote learning; d) describe and analyze the limits and possibilities of collaborative proposal in kindergarten teacher's view of the common teaching and teacher of Special Education. The participants were a teacher of Special Education who served in the collaborative proposal and a common room teacher of stage 6 of Early Childhood Education who had enrolled in his room a child with intellectual disabilities. Under the qualitative approach, this research was characterized as a collaborative research aimed at contributing to ongoing training of teachers, reflections of teaching practices and production of co-knowledge. For this, there were 11 meetings with teachers and researcher. For data collection was used five instruments: initial semi-structured interviews, observations script, script meetings, field diary and semi-structured interview guide end. Data were analyzed by means of elaboration of categories, with consideration of three judges, in view of the reliability of the analysis. The treatment of the data was qualitatively done through thematic categories. The results revealed the need for more information on the themes of co-teaching and adaptation activities on the part of teachers, for dissemination and implementation in practice. The use of pedagogical practices that consider the characteristics and ways of access to the knowledge of the child with intellectual disabilities and the constant reflection of the same. The importance and necessity of planning done by the teacher of the common room and expert. The need for structuring and regulation of co-learning in the city studied. Also show that collaborative learning and adaptation contribute to the improvement of participation and focus on activities, encouraging the development of intellectual disabled children in kindergarten.

The multi-core processors represent the industry response for the physical barriers encountered during the development of computing processors during the last decades, and brought new advances on computing system performance. The complex superscalar unicore processors with high frequency clocks gave way to processing units with two or more cores in just one encapsulation, generally with low clock frequencies, allowing one or more execution threads per core. On this context, the existing programming models using serial and concurrent paradigms do not allow exploring the real potential provided by the new hardware elements incorporated, generating a necessity of new programming methodologies that does allow exploring parallelism aggregated by the use of multi-core processors. This work presents LX-MCAPI, a library based on modern IPC (Inter-Process Communication) and memory sharing mechanisms, developed over the hypothesis that message passing is a viable, flexible and scalable abstraction, compared to conventional programming methods using shared-memory on multi-core systems. LX-MCAPI offers a message-passing, zerocopy memory sharing mechanism between processes and ready to use scalability patterns to facilitate the process of abstraction and construction of applications. It has performed well in therms of transmission latency and transfer rate on x86-64 and ARM environments.

This thesis is based on an ethnographic research on family dynamics in military villages located in the border region in the northwestern Amazon of Brazil. Our starting point considers the idea that the Brazilian Army seizes the "family" while native category which expresses the collective of the organization (the Military Family), prescribing relations to be modeled on solidarity and respect among its members (affections and moral duties that the military regard as “natural” behaviors of the family), which also extend to relations between their spouses/children and other military families, who perceive themselves as "relatives" in this universe (the physical proximity of these people within the villages - military sites - and the daily relations sharing would allow a family experience beyond consanguineous relationships). Through this, it is observed that the family is the object of constant care and it is sought to think the Army, on the one hand, doing and undoing familiarization through a system of standards and prescriptive behaviors (ideal model) which intervene in everyday relations of people who are part of this collective, and which aim to ensure the functioning of the military community as a family ruled by principles of hierarchy and discipline (structuring dimensions of the institution). On the other hand, the study explores, faced with this apparent uniformity of life in the barracks, how family members (especially the wives of officers and sergeants) think themselves in this system and also make and break family, stimulating a series of relationships within a conviviality in military towns, engaging in conflicts, gossiping and alliances. Throughout the thesis, therefore, we describe how both (institutions and individuals) flexibilize the family(ies), in order to produce other specific configurations of a military kinship.

Ichnofossils are abundant in the sandstones of the Botucatu Formation, Paraná Basin, of Neocomian age. This formation covers much of the Midwest, Southeast and South of Brazil, and other countries in South America. Several sandstone samples containing trace fossils were collected and deposited in the paleontological collection of the Departmento de Ecologia e Biologia Evolutiva (DEBE) of the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). In this work, trace fossils attributed to arachnids, i.e. ichnogenera Paleohelcura Gilmore, 1926 and Octopodichnus Gilmore, 1927, were studied and their presence is recorded for the first time in Brazil. The aim of this study was to infer how different environmental conditions such as moisture, texture, substrate inclination and even behavioral aspects of the organisms can affect the structure of the traces left by different arthropods. To do this, several neoichnological experiments were made, with six arachnids (two Tityus serrulatus, one Lycosa sp., one Loxosceles sp., and two individuals of the family Gonyleptidae) and five individuals of other invertebrate classes (three insects, one isopod and one diplopod). The experiments consisted on making the animals walk on a tray with sand of different grain sizes, different inclinations and different moisture levels. The results of these experiments, which showed different trace morphologies, according to each imposed condition, proved the influence of these conditions on the morphology of the footprints and on the behavior of the studied animals. In addition, these results showed how, in some situations, for example, in an uphill movement in a slope of 30° of inclination, it’s possible that animals with highly different track’s shapes leave very similar tracks, thus making much more difficult the identification of the track’s producer animal through the analysis of the ichnofossils. It was also possible to prove how the moisture level and the substrate inclination are important for the tracks’ preservation.

Maize is one of the most cultivated cereal in the world for its wide range of use in food, feed and industrial use. The production of grain and maize silage in organic system is essencial for the production of organic meat, milk and eggs, because this cereal makes up most of the rations and roughages used in a animal feed The objective was to evaluate the agronomic performance and bromatological parameters of silage of five commercial varieties (AL Avaré, AL Bandeirante, Cativerde 02, AL Piratininga and UFVM 200 - Soberano) and two maize landraces (Santa Rita 1 and Santa Rita 2), in two locations with climatic conditions and different altitudes (Araras / SP, 665 m altitude and Muzambinho / MG, 1100 m altitude) in organic production system. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block design in a 2x7 factorial with four replications. For evaluating the agronomic performance, was measured stalk diameter, plants height, insertion height of the upper ear, leaf number above the upper ear, Falker index of total chlorophyll, leaf nitrogen content, number of rows per ear, number of grain by row and grains per ear, lodging, final stand, 1000 grain weight and productivity. For the evaluation of bromatological parameters of silages was evaluated the productivity of green (GM) and dry matter (DM) and percentage of total dry matter (TDM), acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), crude protein (CP), mineral matter (MM), ether extract (EE), total carbohydrates (CHOT), and non-fiber carbohydrates (NFC) in silage. By results obtained, it was concluded that the agronomic performance of corn grain and the production of green and dry matter silages were influenced by environmental conditions, especially temperature and solar radiation, with better results in Muzambinho. But the environmental conditions not affected the bromatological parameters of silages, which were suitable for all varieties, in both locations. Under the experimental conditions, the landraces showed agronomic performance and bromatological parameters of silage similar to that of commercial varieties in two locations evaluated, indicating that they can be used in commercial crops under organic management.

Hydrogen is considered the energy carrier of the future, due to its high energy content and the possibility of its sustainable production. However, its broader implementation depends on overcoming of several technological challenges, which includes the development of safe and effective storage solutions. In the recent decades, different hydrogen storage materials (HSM) have been investigated for hydrogen storage in the solid state, such as simple hydrides, borohydrides, metalorganic frameworks (MOFs), alanates, intermetallic alloys, ammonia borane, and carbon-based compounds. Technological advances in HSM can be monitored from the patent document analysis applying bibliometrics coupled with text mining. In this study, the stage of the technology life cycle was evaluated, as well as the most prominent HSM and the role of different countries on this subject. Patent data were recovered from the Derwent Innovations Index database (DII), processed in bibliometric software VantagePoint® and used for the preparation of technical indicators. Patents in HSM decreased after 2007, except in China. The territories with more expressive patenting activity were the US, Japan, China and the European Union. Simple hydrides and borohydrides were the main classes for triadic patents in the US and EU, while Japan had a high participation in solid solution alloys. Despite its high number of patent applications, China has no triadic patents on HSM, raising doubts about the technological value of its domestic patents. The life-cycle assessment seems to show that the current stage is between the first prototype experiments in the market and a more spread use of the technologies; however, continued monitoring on the subject is necessary for a more accurate analysis.

Accurate and robust forecasting methods for univariate time series are critical as the historical data can be used in the strategic planning of such future operations as buying and selling to ensure product inventory and meet market demands. In this context, several competitions for time series forecasting have been organized, with the M3-Competition as the largest. As the winner of M3-Competition, the Theta method has attracted attention from researchers for its predictive performance and simplicity. The Theta method is a combination of other methods, which proposes the decomposition of the deseasonalized time series into two other time series called "theta lines". The first completely removes the curvatures of the data, thus accurately estimating the long-term trend. The second doubles the curvatures to better approximate short-term behavior. Several issues have been raised about the Theta method, even by its originators. They include the number of theta lines, their parameters, weights to combine them, and construction of prediction intervals, among others. This doctorate thesis resolves part of these issues. We derive optimal weights for combine the theta lines, this result is used to derive statistical models which generalizes /approximate the standard Theta method. The statistical methodology is considering for parameter estimation and for compute the prediction intervals. The optimal weights are also used to propose new methods that hold two or more theta lines. Part of proposed methodology is implemented in a package for R-programming language. In an empirical investigation using the M3-Competition data set with more than 3000 time series, the proposed methods/models demonstrated significant accuracy. The study’s primary approach, the Dynamic Optimised Theta Model, outperformed all benchmarks methods, constituting, in all likelihood, the highest-performing method for this data set available in the literature.

The Brazilian international image is subject of debate for a long time. It is important to notice that both the official discourse and the way other actors represent a country are relevant for the construction of its image. Among these, the international media has been acquiring an increasingly important role. The purpose of this work is to understand how Brazil was represented and how its images are constructed and deconstructed. With this intent, the British magazine The Economist was chosen as a case study for its relevance in the international arena. Another goal is to inform the political and ideological profile of the magazine and to understand to what extent this influences their coverage. In order to establish a time frame we will analyse the coverage in four different moments: a) the military dictatorship (1964-1984), b) the first governments after democratization (1985-1994), c) Fernando Henrique Cardoso’s government (1995-2002) and d) Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s period (2003-2010). To achieve the proposed objectives, editorials, articles and special reports were analysed. The methodology used was content analysis. From the first reading the most significant issues and quotes were divided into themes and sub-themes. It was possible to ascertain that Brazil has always been present among The Economist relevant issues. We could identify that the magazine was more interested in some specific themes and these contributed to the construction of images of Brazil. The political and ideological profile of the magazine ca be identified with two basic ideas: the defence of economic liberalism combined with certain political conservatism. The manner that Brazil was reported and interpreted reflected this position and it can be seen repeatedly. For example: in the defence of the military intervention, the use of Brazil as an example of adherence to free market and the almost absence of criticism for the human rights abuses. On the other hand, debt and inflation appeared to be the elements that headed the criticism. After that, the economic stability and the country emergency were striking images. The Economist seems to maintain an editorial line that subordinates politics to economics and the magazine's profile contributed to construct a more positive or negative image of Brazil depending on domestic and international context.

Forest inventory is an important tool used to estimate forest wood production. However, some methodologies used in forest inventory are based in Classical Statistics, which disregards any spatial continuity that may exist between sample unities. Some geostatistic interpolators such as ordinary kriging (OK) and external drift kriging (EDK) allow us to assess this spatial structure. Furthermore, besides spatial variability, interpolators as EDK use one or more auxiliary variables. Satellite images have different components that interrelate with dendrometric variables and that can be used as auxiliary variables in order to increase the degree of precision of estimates. The aim of this study was to assess EDK performance on the volume estimation of Eucalyptus sp. stands using satellite image components as secondary variables and to compare it with OK performance. With this purpose, a forest inventory of 210 circular plots of 500 m² was carried out in order to estimate the volume (m³ ha-1 ) in each plot. Images obtained of studied area had blue, green, red and near infrared band. From these bands, it were extracted: gray level in each band, the ratio between bands, vegetation index (NDVI, SAVI e ARVI), texture measures and index generated from textures related to plot area. Covariance model adjustement throughout Stepwise method and selection by AIC (Akaike Information Criterion) method were made to EDK geostatistic. EDK and OK semivariograms were adjusted by different theoretical models through Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method and the choice of the best model was given by the lowest value of residual standard error. From statistic analysis of images and correlation matrix, it was observed a correlation of variables with volume and also autocorrelation between these variables. The best covariance model selected was composed by band 2, measure of COR texture of band 2, MULCOR texture index of band 1 and by age. In the two semivariograms, the best model adjusted was the exponential one. Analysing the results, volume estimates generated by EDK produced better results than OK estimates and had the lowest value of residual standard error and the best area under curve (AUC) in receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis.

In order to induce changes in the graduation in Healthcare and to improve the Unified Healthcare System – SUS, the Education Ministry – MEC instituted National Curricular Guidelines – DCN for the fourteen Healthcare related professions. This movement of construction of the DCN is the result of a defense process to educate citizens with a critical view and who agree with the principles and guidelines which SUS preconizes. Therefore, the present study has the goal of analyzing the DCN of the fourteen Healthcare related professions proposed between the period of 2001 and 2004. An exploratory descriptive study has been realized, according to the documental analysis of the DCN, regulated by the Resolution nº287/1998. The data acquiring was realized through the MEC/Portal Site consult, in which were found the resolutions for the fourteen Healthcare related courses. For the proper analysis of the data, an analytic matrix has been used. The matrix contained two axis: Curriculum and Professional Profile, containing the following categories: student evaluation process; teaching-learning process; curricular organization; Professional profile; healthcare; healthcare education and healthcare management. The results reveal gaps related to the articulation of the graduation with the real demands of SUS; there was few focus in innovative concepts, with healthcare perspectives of amplified care; a Professional profile with potent characteristics for SUS establishment; the teaching-learning process shows a initial advance referring to the construction of knowledge centered in the student; the student evaluation that points to a traditional approach. Also, contradictions were verified between conservative and innovative curricular principles; some DCN highlighted technicalist approaches and permissed ambiguous comprehension, showing the lack of clarity to explain the analyzed categories. Considering the DCN as a document that grounds the political pedagogic projects, by ethics, social responsability and commitment. It is expected the ampliation, better explaining and changing in the conservative procedures to seek the promotion, prevention and recuperation and/or rehabilitation, according to SUS statements, throught which the obstacle of integrating teaching, service and social demands will be overcome. Therefore this study proposes the catenation of reflections and possible reviews of the DCN, in the parameters of the Medicine course’s DCN, reviewed in 2014, which brought innovative and significant guiding for a formation directed to the demands of SUS and the needs of the population.

This dissertation comprises four studies that aimed at the establishment of equivalence classes and transfer of functions among stimuli with common class membership with specific reinforcers. In Study 1, seven undergraduates were given to identity MTS training in which movies and tones were applied as arbitrary specific reinforcers. All participants failed on tests for the formation of equivalence classes. Thus, they were not conducted to tests for transfer of functions. Their failures were due to a redundancy of the MTS task for individuals within this population, or to the lack of defined motivational functions of the specific consequences. The nature of the consequences was manipulated in Study 2. This manipulation aimed at guaranteeing that these stimuli would act as reinforcers for six undergraduates within session behavior. The outcomes in two experiments were positive for the establishment and reorganization of equivalence classes and for transfer of functions. These results showed that the failures in Study 1 were due to the arbitrariness of the specific consequences. In Study 3, 10 undergraduates were given to a training comprised by mixed trials of arbitrary and identity MTS with specific consequences. The results on the first experiment were positive for formation and expansion of equivalence classes. Evidences for transfer of functions were also observed. However, nine of these participants had failed in tests for reorganization of the original equivalence classes. Finally, performances by seven participants confirmed that specific consequences can act as nodes for merging stimuli from separate classes. Moreover, further tests were positive for transfer of functions through stimuli within merged classes with specific consequences as nodes. The findings by these four studies for the establishment of equivalence classes and transfer of functions in procedures with different levels of complexity are showing that once class specific consequences had become class members, they will act as nodes as the antecedent stimuli (conditional and discriminative).

In Brazil, there is a growing and promising market that explores the new cultivars of lettuce and crispy segment the Brunella and Crocantella cultivars are examples. The cv. Brunella is an innovative cultivar that combines crisp lettuce characteristics and lettuce being adapted to Brazilian culture conditions. A cv. Crocantella is also included in this segment. It is considered a vigorous lettuce with high numbers of leaves, heavy, thick and light green. The lettuce cultivation may be performed in different cropping systems they are different from each other in crop management and also in post-harvest handling. These differences often produce lettuces with physical, physico-chemical and sensory differentiated. In this way the objective of this study was to determine the effect of different cropping systems in physical, physicochemical and sensory parameters in lettuce cultivars. For cv. Brunella noted that the plant produced hydroponically provided with larger lettuce leaves. The organic plant increased loss of weight. It was not found statistically significant differences for turgor pressure loss analysis among the three cropping systems. The instrumental analysis color demonstrated that hydroponic lettuce presented lighter green that produced the organic system and higher acidity compared to the other two systems. Not found a statistically significant difference in the measurement of soluble solids and total phenolic compounds among the three cropping systems. The sensory analysis cv. Brunella organic was the one with lowest preference and intention to purchase by the consumer. For cv. Crocantella was found that for conventional lettuce leaf area showed higher, then the hydroponic and organic, with significant difference between them. The sample produced in the organic system had lower leaf area, lower ULA and lower initial fresh and even the loss of weight was significantly higher when compared to the other two cropping systems. There was no significant statistical difference in the turgidity initial values, final and loss of turgor pressure between the samples produced in the three cropping systems. In instrumental analysis of color it was also no statistically significant difference among the three cropping systems. The physicochemical analysis was not statistically significant differences in pH values between samples produced in the three cropping systems. The organic sample obtained highest soluble solids, with difference to the hydroponic system. In the determination titratable acidity and total phenolic compounds was obtained statistically significant differences between the three systems. For titratable acidity hydroponic sample had higher acidity, then the organic sample and the conventional sample, for the determination of total phenolic compounds, organic sample had a higher value, then the hydroponic and conventional. With respect to test preference for cv. Crocantela was no statistical difference between the samples produced in the three cropping systems and the purchase intention test, there was significant difference in purchase intent among the samples produced in hydroponic and organic system, that is, the first was most intent the second purchase. It is concluded cultivation system used for the production of lettuce influence on physical characteristics and physico-chemical plants. In this study it was possible to obtain the sensory characterization of Brunella and Crocantella lettuce cultivars. This manner, studies with these characteristics are crucial as they allow the diagnosis of these differences assisting in obtaining important information from production and post-harvest both for the active professional in the field and the consumer.

In technical visits to companies in Marilia and the region, the needs observed; on hiring a professional that would present previous knowledge of galvanization and its applications, it was proposed a reformulation of the menu of the Technological Chemistry discipline in the course of production engineering. This research was applied to the students of 2nd year/4th stage on studying Production Engineering at the Higher Education Institution. The research process involved: a) Utilizing galvanization as the main theme to motivate the learning process of the students; b) Increasing students’ prior knowledge of the galvanization theme; c) Bringing the labor market and the University together through technical visits to the companies of Marilia and the region; d) Proposing additional content to the menu of the Technical Engineering discipline. The exploratory research took a qualitative approach to assist in the collection and analysis of data. Data collection instruments were questionnaires that inquired on prior knowledge and then post-activities. The questionnaires consisted of two phases, one diagnostic and another one for evaluation. In the diagnostic phase, the students answered questions about previous knowledge of Electrochemistry and its applications. The second part of survey was administered after the instruction of new content. Based on the analysis of the answer categories and the correction of assessment tools applied to students, it was possible to observe the improvement in the learning process of the chemistry teaching. During the technical visits were observed the electroplating process for electrowinning and phosphating. The process of galvanizing phosphating is the most widely used in the industries of Marilia and region.

Among the political struggle strategies of the Black Social Movement, which has been characterized by their dynamism and elaboration of each historic moment, thedisputes in the brazilian juridical field can be pointed out, mainly those ones related to the construction of ananti-racism legislation, a set of rules which has a goal of the deconstructingracism, prejudice and social discrimination that cross the brazilian political and social institutions and the subjectivity of the subjects. In this way, according to Discourse Analysis, data analysis method used, and the reflections upon the methodological and theoretical approach of the subaltern studies, particularly the postcolonial studies, I seek to analyze in this reseach the process of construction of this anti-racism legislation/ anti-racial discrimination legislation/anti- discrimination legislation. The specific objectives of the research were, therefore, to analyse: a) which discourses were raised in the normative and juridical field about the racial and ethnic issue making possible the construction of anti-racism legislation from 1950 on; b) which events and debates, ocurred between 1940 and 1988, were outlining the three dimensions of the anti-racism legislation presentin the brazilian legal order, and, finally, c) the importance of Black Movement in this process. The disputes of the normative and juridical field to the construction of the anti- racism legislation and to the deconstruction (still unfinished) of the racial and ethnic relations in Brazil, underlined, on one hand, by an institucional racism and, on the other, by the myth of a racial democracy, represented, at the same time: the problem of brazilian law limits in relation to the racial and ethnic issue, ressignifying, therefore, the own notion of State and brazilian nation; and, a political process in which blacks, being political subjetcs/actors, became subjetcs of rigths, a denied status by brazilian law, during the colonization process and slavery, that marked our history until the 19th century, and still in dispute in the contemporary brazilian society.

The main aims of this work are to study the ways to model mathematically uncertainties using Fuzzy Sets Theory, and then propose a mathematical model to estimate the risk of an individual developing lung cancer through a system based rule fuzzy. Therefore, we consider risk factors, namely smoking, pollution, history of lung disease, family history and contact with chemical agents such as system input variables fuzzy. Lung cancer is a disease that has no symptoms in its early stages, making the diagnosis more difficult to be done and, therefore, most discovered when the cancer is already advanced. This type of cancer is highly lethal and frequent in the population, an increase of 2 % per year in its worldwide incidence.

In this study, hip hop is shown as a culture in permanent movement. The objective of the study is to identify constitutional factors of the hip hop culture. The study design includes field work focusing on female hip hoppers from São Paulo and São Carlos House of Hip Hop institution. Activities from these two groups were observed and the dynamics of the working functionality of the groups were described. There were also descriptions of interactions between different mobilization forms and their influences, performed by the active characters involved in this process. It was observed that the political awareness between the study groups is shaped throughout the characteristics of the speech of the hip hoppers and their practical actions. Therefore, this study concludes that there were two distinct mobilization manners on the way the two groups experience hip hop culture. However, this process is constantly renovated by the interactions and simultaneous affect from between the groups.

This dissertation studies the application of a periodic review inventory model based on the multiperiod newsboy problem, as an effective alternative to reach a well balanced inventory planning policy of subcontractors primary parts area of the aerospace industry. In Brazil, the aerospace industry is responsible for a large amount of the country exports and this industry competes with other globally aerospace supply chains in a scenario increasingly turbulent and demanding for fast deliveries, with high quality levels and low cost. The purpose of this work is to study and propose this alternative for optimizing the inventory planning by means of a quantitative approach, applied in a primary parts sector of the aerospace industry, it will focus in a specific group of items with high annual demand value. The main objective of this approach is to balance the high inventory costs with a high service level demanded in this industry, and efficiently respond the stakeholders expectations, with superior performance of the usual models adopted by this industry, and give a better support to the decision makers in a tactical-operational level. The result obtained show the potential of the method to improve the performance of these inventory management and planning systems.
