Item type:Item, Model-based design of user interfaces to support situation awareness in maintenance(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-13) ;Oliveira, Állan César Moreira de ;Araujo, Regina Borges de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8964123297688432https://lattes.cnpq.br/1729081803965609Situation Awareness (SAW) is a cognitive process defined as the perception of elements and events within a time frame, the understanding of their situation and the projection of their status. SAW is a prerequisite for decision-making in dynamic and complex systems and errors in SAW are an acknowledged source of human errors and accidents. Its study is pivotal in many industries, such as aviation, military, oil, gas and rails, and it is being increasingly considered for maintenance, since this activity is deemed critical for every industry. New technologies to support maintenance, such as E-Maintenance, will provide easier access to the desired information to technicians, but the way new technologies lead to improved SAW is influenced by how information is presented in the User Interface (UI), and many UIs for maintenance technicians support their decision-making regarding procedural and technical criteria, but not economical, legal, ethical and political. Therefore, they only allow a partial development of the user SAW, but not the complete comprehension and projection of a situation. These UIs ignore information requirements such as: risks and conditions of the environment; automations; actions and decisions of team members; rules, regulations and policies of enterprises. Therefore, the design and development of UIs to improve SAW in maintenance is compromised by the few solutions in the state of the art for SAW supportive UI design, for model-based design process and for frameworks and reference architectures. Cognizant to this gap, this thesis proposes a solution for the design and development of Situation Awareness support User Interfaces (SASUI) for maintenance work. For that three contributions are proposed: a conceptual framework of Situation Awareness Aspects (FSA) that assists developers in structuring heterogeneous sources of data into a knowledge representation model, to obtain a state oriented view of SAW; a multiagent architecture that instantiates and controls UIs to improve their support of SAW, by using a blend of SAW and UI agents to express the situation (and its projection) of real world entities in the UI; a methodology to create Model-based SAW User Interfaces (MBSAW-UI), in which designers model agents that will assist users in acquiring the SAW necessary for their decision-making process. These contributions follow a Cognitive Engineering approach to guide software developers in the UI design process and also empower domain experts to model their UIs, enabling an End-User Development (EUD) paradigm that facilitate future updates to the system. A study case of a maintenance activity was developed to evaluate these solutions, with two interfaces: a UI designed using MBSAW-UI; a UI designed using solely a Hierarchical Task Analysis. An experiment was performed and showed a 78% increase in SAW with the UI designed to support SAW, which lead to enhanced efficacy (3,85x less errors) and safety (3,87x less errors regarding unsafe behavior).Item type:Item, Atividades Curriculares de Integração Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão (ACIEPEs) como estratégia de formação continuada : um estudo de caso com formação matemática de professores polivalentes no Município de São Carlos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-13) ;Curilla, Rosemeire Aparecida Trebi ;Côrtes, Mauro Rocha ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8988613760967305https://lattes.cnpq.br/2386007173142606This research had as its general objective to discuss the contributions of the Curricular Activities of Integration Teaching, Research and Extension (ACIEPEs) offered by the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) for the training of teachers promoted by this IES and for the professional development of teachers of Basic Education. It had as its specific objectives: to investigate the relationship between the ACIEPEs’ offer, and the demand regarding the training needs of the teachers who work in the Initial Years of Elementary School; To investigate the contributions of ACIEPE "Information Technology in the Training and Performance of Teachers Teaching Mathematics in the Beginning Years" for the professional activity and the pedagogical practice of teachers who attended it; and to offer subsidies to the Center for Teacher Education (NFP) of UFSCar to aggregate and streamline the ACIEPEs focused on teacher education. Starting from the propositions in the scope of teacher training, (a) ACIEPEs are activities that promote the articulation between the initial and continuing teacher training, considered by scholars in the area of education as primordial for the effectiveness of teacher training in Basic Education; (b) need effective dissemination to public education networks; and (c) need to have validation for the functional progression of the teachers of the state education network, which demands specific agreement with this network of education, in order to be more attractive for the participation of this public, the research question was raised "Are there indications that ACIEPEs, in the context of teacher training, enhance the continuing teacher training promoted by UFSCar?" For the development of this work, which is configured as exploratory and of a qualitative and descriptive nature, the bibliographic research, the documentary analysis and the case study were carried out, using the semistructured interview as a central element for the collection of primary data. Data collection consists of two stages: (1) documentary analysis and (2) interviews with educational managers of public education networks in the city of São Carlos, SP; coordinators of ACIEPEs in the area of Mathematics Education in the Early Years, offered in the period from 2010 to 2014, at UFSCar - Campus São Carlos; and teachers working in the Early Years of Elementary School, who attended ACIEPE "Information Technology in the Training and Performance of Teachers Teaching Mathematics in the Early Years". A mapping of the ACIEPEs offered at UFSCar, from 2010 to 2014, was carried out in its four campuses, prioritizing a study of ACIEPEs focused on teacher training, focusing on those whose teachers were in the early years of the public school system. Municipality of São Carlos, SP. Next, the focus was focused on ACIEPEs in the area of mathematics education in the Early Years of Elementary School, culminating in the investigation of the contributions of ACIEPE "Information Technology in the Training and Performance of Teachers Teaching Mathematics in the Early Years" for professional development and the pedagogical practice of multipurpose teachers who attended it. The theoretical framework brings concepts of teacher training and training needs; presents models of continuing teacher training; a synthesis of the historical aspects and the problem of teacher education in the Brazilian context; and also the Center for Teacher Training and the institution responsible for the creation, implementation and offer of ACIEPEs.Item type:Item, Caracterização da implementação do lean manufacturing na região amazônica : identificação do grau de adoção e seu efeito no desempenho empresarial(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-13) ;Negrão, Léony Luis Lopes ;Godinho Filho, Moacir ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6136685270563354https://lattes.cnpq.br/1584058504953159The objectives of this thesis were to identify the path of implementation of lean practices in the manufacturing industry located in a region of scarce resources from a developing country, to evaluate the insertion degree such means according certain control variables (company size, industrial sector and the main productive typology) as well as to evaluate the effects of the lean manufacturing implementation on the performance of the companies studied. By means of a Survey, it was possible to investigate the lean manufacturing implementation using robust statistical techniques to define the measurement model defined as the mean of lean manufacturing adoption by the industry researched and to evaluate the effect of such adoption on performance. The results show a high, but partial, degree of lean adoption, which is observed by the identification of its implementation path composed of six internal practices (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies, Human Resource Management, Continuous Flow, Total Productive Maintenance, and Statistical Process Control) and two external (Supplier feedback and Customer engagement). Two other important lean practices (Just In Time delivery and Supplier development) have not been implemented, probably due to the region and country characteristics in where the companies are located such as: remote suppliers and lack of transport/logistics infrastructure plus the great territorial extension. In addition, such adoption has occurred in a fragmented way, as from 36 operational measures that comprise the eight practices considered as the lean implementation path, 13 have not been implemented. Moreover, it was verified the degree of adoption of the lean practices changes according to the company’s size (bigger companies tend to incorporate more practices compared to smaller companies) and the industrial sector. However, there has been no variation in the degree of adoption considering the main productive typology. Finally, it was observed the Lean Manufacturing interrelationship model has a positive effect on operational, financial and environmental performances. Item type:Item, Entre o canavial e o porto : identidades e trajetórias dos trabalhadores rurais na zona da mata sul de Pernambuco(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-13) ;Maciel, Jeanne Mariel Brito de Moura ;Martins, Rodrigo Constante ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6617183095074852https://lattes.cnpq.br/6386560585656348The Zona da Mata Sul of Pernambuco has undergone transformations in its productive sector, mainly as a result of the restructuring of the sugar cane monoculture sector, which has been constantly fluctuating in relation to profits and productivity since the mid-1990s. In addition, there was the growth in the years 2000 of a new productive actor in the locality, the Industrial Port Complex of Suape. Despite being created between 1976-1978, port enterprises – with about 100 companies installed that generate 25,000 direct jobs – became more intense with the creation of the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) in 2007 under the government of Former President Lula. Thus, if before the advent of Suape the supply of employment in the region – for its majority rural population – came from of the cane fields and sugar industry, now the presence of this new element brought with it new possibilities of living in the place. This situation has been accompanied by the mobility of the productive force – of which Gaudemar speaks – of hundreds of cane workers for employment in the largest companies in the port of Suape, especially those in the construction sector and companies in the naval area, such as the Shipyard Atlantic South and Vard Promar Shipyard. In this context, the construction of the research sought to understand this dynamics and the possible implications of this displacement on the living space of the social actors who experienced this process. Thus, the aim of this thesis is to analyze the possible transformations in the identities and, therefore, in the trajectories of the rural workers of zona da mata sul canavieira of Pernambuco given the presence of Suape. and, as specific objectives: a) to describe the profile of these workers with regard to gender, age, schooling and origin; b) characterize how the insertion of workers occurs in the Suape complex; c) analyze the identity mediation of rural workers in face of the change of condition of rural workers to workers in the industries of Porto of Suape; d) to show how the workers perceive the transformations that they are experiencing in their ways of life and, if consequently, there are changes in their projects of life. As a methodological resource, I make use of qualitative research and semi-structured interviews with a focus on the life history of social actors. Workers from the municipalities of Sirinhaém, Ribeirão, Escada, Rio Formoso and Ipojuca were interviewed. Also interviews were conducted with leaders of rural unions, employers and agents of the government of the state of Pernambuco. The documentary source was very useful in order to confirm the information collected in the interviews, as well as the bibliographic survey that enabled the construction of key concepts for the interpretation and analysis of the data.Item type:Item, Corpos ultrajados e suas representações em crônicas de Ana Paula Tavares(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-14) ;Souza, Larissa da Silva Lisboa ;Valentim, Jorge Vicente ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4427303771174064https://lattes.cnpq.br/1461592493980999The dissertation aims to analyze the representations of the female body in the chronicles of Angolan Writer Ana Paula Tavares, gathered in A cabeça de Salomé (2004). From the theoretical discussions about the concept of body, elucidating the writings of women authors in Angola as outraged bodies (subaltern, uncommon, foreigners, handicapped, unruly, insurgent or minority), we intend to develop a deeper look in the prose of Ana Paula Tavares, and how a feminine bodily representation appears and could be treated.Item type:Item, Perfil dermatoglífico, somatotípico e fisiológico de atletas de elite do rafting(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-14) ;Takehara, Julio Cesar ;Duarte, Ana Cláudia Garcia de Oliveira ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1996950253264696https://lattes.cnpq.br/1033610693200363Rafting is a modality that is summed up in the descent of rivers in inflatable boats, in which the members of the boat paddle under the command of an instructor responsible for the orientation of the group during the course, in leisure and tourism activities. However, when it comes to competition, rafting can be practiced by female or male teams, with an initial age of 15 years, in competitions held in three days of events, and in R6 and R4 modalities. The objective of this research was to identify the dermatoglyphic profile, the body composition, the somatotype, the motor tests, the lipid profile, the glycemic and the ergospirometry profile of the elite rafting athletes. Participants were seven male athletes with 21.5 ± 0.5 years, of the sub-23 category. Dermatoglyphic characteristics were evaluated by computerized scanning, body composition by Bio impedance InBody 720, and somatotropy by anthropometric measurements. The motor tests were abdominal, arm support, vertical thrust, Shuttle-run test and aerobic power by ergospirometry in adapted ergometer rowing. The normality test of Shapiro Wilk was used, after applying the Pearson correlation coefficient for the variables, considering a significant value of p <0.05. The athletes presented in the fingerprints 9% of arches, 19% of whorls and 72% of loops, still an average of 112.7 ± 29.9 LQTS and 10.7 ± 2.1 D10; Mean body mass of 72.3 ± 6.9 kg; Height 174.8 ± 7.2 cm; BMI 23.7 ± 1.7 kg/m2, endomorph components 2.6 ± 0.8, mesomorph 5.4 ± 1.3, ectomorph 2.2 ± 0.9, percentage of fat 10.0 ± 4.8 %, Fat mass 7.4 ± 4.1 kg, lean mass 64.9 ± 5.4 kg and skeletal muscle mass 35.5 ± 3.0 kg. The mean load for ergospirometry was 100.0 ± 17.9 W and the maximum oxygen consumption of 66.2 0.8 ml.kg-1.min-1, the production of carbon dioxide 79.6 ± 1, 5 ml.kg-1.min-1, the maximum ventilation 96.9 ± 2.2 l.min-1 respiratory quotient at the time of fatigue 1.2 ± 0.0 and the maximum heart rate 198.5 ± 05 bpm. Blood glucose was 83.7 ± 6.5 mg/dl, cholesterol 169.0 ± 32.7 mg/dl, triglycerides 71.0 ± 15.3 mg/dl and creatinine 1.0 ± 0.1 mg/dl. In the abdominal test 57.0 ± 12.7 repetitions, in the arm support 59.7 ± 13.7 repetitions, in the vertical impulse 51.2 ± 8.6 cm, in the agility 11.5 ± 1.1 seconds. There were strong positive correlations (r> 0.75) for the variables VO2max and VO2max, clamp and MME, veticilo and age, veticilo and VO2max, D10 and age, D10 and MME, SQTL and age. And strong negative correlations (r> -0.75) between the whorl and endomorph component and D10 and endomorph component. It is concluded that the identification of dermatoglyphic profile, body composition, somatotípia, biochemical, motor tests and ergo-spirometry of athletes of high-performance rafting can be applied directly in the orientation of the training strategies, of the various physical qualities involved in this sport, As an auxiliary measure to physical training. This statement is based on the results presented here that reflect the profile of the high performance in the modality, and which, in turn, suggest the predisposition of a subject to said sport.Item type:Item, Ensino de astronomia para os anos iniciais : uma proposta a partir da observação da lua(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-14) ;Simon, Paula Cristina da Silva Gonçalves ;Bretones, Paulo Sérgio ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0016646045895716https://lattes.cnpq.br/6221874223227758This research presents results of an investigation of educational pedagogy done with a group of second grade students from an Elementary School. The investigation involved observations of the Moon and educational activities used to teach about Moon phases. An overview of the academic literature on the teaching of the theme of the Moon and its phases was conducted, with a bibliographical review of theses and dissertations, journal articles, papers presented at selected conferences, and some international papers on this topic. From the literature review, it was found that there are few studies that actually address of how observation of the Moon in the sky can be used to effectively teach Moon phases to elementary school students. In this study, students observed and recorded the appearance of the Moon and its place in the sky through drawings. The drawings included the position of the Moon relative to the horizon and used observations made at the school and at their homes during part of a lunar month. Using these initial Moon observations and the student drawings, there were discussions in the classroom designed to consolidate student knowledge. In this research, the data were obtained through interviews, class records, and student observations notebooks. A control group was not used. The researcher was also the teacher of the class where the research was developed. The student observations made it possible for the students to perceive the Moon's apparent motion, as well as its change of appearance over several nights. Through classroom discussions centered on the observations, it was clear that the observations helped develop student concept knowledge of Moon phases that would be difficult to develop from classroom experiences that did not include observations. This experiential connection from the observation of the Moon fostered a relationship with the knowledge implied to the reality of nature. For the initial years, in the Astronomy teaching, this is an important link that can promote the learning of such contents, from the senses of the child and the teacher intervention in a flexible and open way.Item type:Item, Encontros, efeitos e afetos : discursos de uma liderança Tupi Guarani(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-14) ;Danaga, Amanda Cristina ;Peggion, Edmundo Antoniohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/8230760897259077The context of the indigenous movement in Brazil, observe the proeminence of indigenous leaders who come to narrate the memories told in the first-person singular, in an attempt to speak on behalf of their groups. These speeches become important to understand, beyond the indigenous movement, the subjectivity Amerindians schemes, the emergence of autobiographical subject within the ethnology and its implications in writing the ethnographic text. Once, as from his speeches, that policy and poetic notions they emerge for the anthropologist as part of an ethnographic text. From this discussion, this research performs an approach of memories and narratives of a tupi guarani leadership that lives in the village Ywytu Guaçu (Renascer) in the city of Ubatuba / SP, the leader Antonio da Silva Awa. It is an ethnography that focuses on the effects of the meeting such leadership, these effects expressed through statements, speeches and quotidian advice. These speeches open up possibilities for other reflections such as the use of a specific self-designation that make use of category mixture as singularity attribute of a people, the relationships with several other "types of people," the commitment to actions and negotiations seeking to reconcile interests between distinct worlds, amerindians ways politics gets done and the highlight of indigenous representatives as prestigious leadership and recognition in their groups. That everything associated with the idea of production and formation of subjects tupi guarani and the learning from ancients.Item type:Item, Motivações para o estudo do piano(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-14) ;Oliveira, Leonardo Daniel de ;Lombardi, Lucia Maria Salgado dos Santos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5697508831302188https://lattes.cnpq.br/9021807629696227The present work was born out of a concern of the author, as a student of the Pedagogy course and Education professional, about what would be the factors and the motivations that influence people when deciding which musical instrument to choose as a learning medium and cultural development. In order to investigate this subject, a qualitative and bibliographic study with field study was carried out. The main authors of the text are Santos (2006), Blacking (2007) and Vannucchi (2011) on the concept of culture; Pinto (2004) and Mateiro (2007) on the musical context in general; Amato (2007), Borges (2010) and Albuquerque (2011) support the development of the analysis of the various aspects of piano study in Brazil. The field investigation was done at the Municipal Conservatory Maestro Henrique Castellari, in the city of Salto, State of São Paulo, through questionnaires answered by seven students. The work is divided into four chapters. The first is the Memorial, in which the author approaches his musical experiences since childhood. The second chapter presents the theoretical framework. The third chapter describes the methodology and the fourth presents the data analysis. The results point to multiple influences in the choice of instrument, revealing that the piano is considered a complete instrument, with many possibilities, and that influences in a positive way the character, the personal formation and the musical preferences of the students.Item type:Item, Efficient bayesian methods for mixture models with genetic applications(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-14) ;Zuanetti, Daiane Aparecida ;Milan, Luis Aparecido ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7435391829973844https://lattes.cnpq.br/8352484284929824We propose Bayesian methods for selecting and estimating di erent types of mixture models which are widely used in Genetics and Molecular Biology. We speci cally propose data-driven selection and estimation methods for a generalized mixture model, which accommodates the usual (independent) and the rst-order (dependent) models in one framework, and QTL (quantitative trait locus) mapping models for independent and pedigree data. For clustering genes through a mixture model, we propose three nonparametric Bayesian methods: a marginal nested Dirichlet process (NDP), which is able to cluster distributions and, a predictive recursion clustering scheme (PRC) and a subset nonparametric Bayesian (SNOB) clustering algorithm for clustering big data. We analyze and compare the performance of the proposed methods and traditional procedures of selection, estimation and clustering in simulated and real data sets. The proposed methods are more exible, improve the convergence of the algorithms and provide more accurate estimates in many situations. In addition, we propose methods for predicting nonobservable QTLs genotypes and missing parents and improve the Mendelian probability of inheritance of nonfounder genotype using conditional independence structures. We also suggest applying diagnostic measures to check the goodness of t of QTL mapping models.Item type:Item, Nos caminhos da cultura e dos dons : os Guarani e instituições no norte do Paraná(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-15) ;Costa, Samuel Douglas Farias ;Vianna, Anna Catarina Morawska ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2245801371286766https://lattes.cnpq.br/2701528227753333Indigenous Land Pinhalzinho, in Tomazina, and the city of Maringá. Two places in north of Paraná separated by about 250 km and connected by a relational complex that involves Guarani people and some institutions, including the Associação Indigenista – ASSINDI – Maringá and the Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM). In the village, the Guarani practice praying, develop leaders, hunting, fishing, produce crafts, among other actions related to the enunciations of culture and the experience of the gifts. Culture and gifts emerge also in Maringá, a city that does not contain indigenous villages, but still a space for mobility and presence of Guarani people. Two are the reference points to think the indigenous presence in the city: the ASSINDI and UEM. In Pinhalzinho, in turn, there are also institutions such as the indigenous school and the health center, as well as a diversity of projects. This ethnography sought to follow the paths of the enunciated culture and the gifts in this relational complex between the village and the town and think the extent to which the Guarani’s perspectives contrast or make up with institutional perspectives. For this, it was conducted an ethnographic experiment that, giving priority for the Guarani’s perspectives, descriptively organizes this composite of relations from four points of references that articulate culture, gifts, life in the village, life in the city and relationships with institutions.Item type:Item, Divulgação científica por meio de ferramentas digitais : estudo de caso do portal do Instituto de Física de São Carlos (IFSC/USP)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-15) ;Spina, Tatiana Gladcheff Zanon ;Kerbauy, Maria Teresa Miceli ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4762029784021248https://lattes.cnpq.br/8219619703431459Quali-quantitative diagnosis of São Carlos Institute of Physics (IFSC/USP) website to verify its communicational effectiveness with intern (IFSC/USP teachers, employees and students) and extern public. In this scenario, the user information need to be increasingly aware of how appropriates the information, seeking to be based on ethical behavior. Such behavior involves knowledge of how various content available on the Internet, knowledge of the law governing copyright and uses of intellectual works in Brazil and the knowledge of the citation and reference standards. The methods used for development work were the bibliographic and documentary research. It was found that there is a low use of photographs in the public domain and, in some cases, the guidelines of the rules were not followed.Item type:Item, O papel dos quintais agroflorestais na conservação da agrodiversidade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-15) ;Tello López, Alex Mauri ;Piña-Rodrigues, Fátima Conceição Márquez ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1475369713141675https://lattes.cnpq.br/7438227129016257Since a long time homegardens have been fulfilling a series of functions and services, representing geographic spaces for the in situ conservation of germplasm, becoming these important areas for the conservation of local agrobiodiversity, besides contributing to food security in many regions The planet. In order to do so, agroforestry yards must also promote the conservation of agrobiodiversity, as well as the provision of environmental services. For such the present work makes an analysis through a bibliographical review to verify if the agroforestry yards are adding to the agrobiodiversity conservation and if the possibility exists to adopt these systems in the current legislations of the São Paulo state as a method of restoration of legal reserves (LR) and permanent preservation areas (PPA). In this respect, it was analyzed the Forestry Law nº 12.651/2012 and the state resolutions SMA nº 44/2008 and SMA nº 32/2014, considering a set of guiding concepts, attributes and standards applied to the ecological services´ analysis prone to being obtained in agroforestry yards. On evaluation of the legal measures relating to the theory of the ecological services, it was featured the concepts related to the cultural issues, regulation and support. It´s been observed that the attributes relating to cultural issues were not explicit in any of the legislations. The analysis of the other concepts highlighted the potentiality and the relevance of embracing agroforestry yards on ecological services´ rendering, inside legal reserve and preservation areas - mainly if the legal requirements embeds the cultural issues.Item type:Item, Emancipação ou ideologia?: uma análise da matriz curricular da rede municipal de ensino de Sorocaba(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-15) ;Pereira, Sara Aparecida ;Silva, Antonio Fernando Gouvêa da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9621931288117213https://lattes.cnpq.br/5956652418433939The development of this research, which has the object of study being the Curricular Matrix of Sorocaba's Education Municipal System sought through the documental analysis in a emancipatory education perspective. In this perspective the curriculum must be the way that builds the transformation possibility with the individuals. The concepts reviewed in this research were the ideology and emancipation, substantiated by the Critical Theory and the Humanizing Education. All of the concepts here introduced were discussed related to the Curricular Matrix of Sorocaba's Education Municipal System construction in order to analyse this document from a perspective of an education that effectively contributes to the emancipation of the individuals which is indeed committed to reality transformation. The methodology of this research sought to involve itself with the reality understanding, not a neutral understanding, but a ethically oriented one. To seek the answers for the research's problems, the document's analysis was created. The analysis took us to issues and discussions related with the theoretical foundations of this research and unveiling as for the ideological use of the emancipation concept. In the analysis it considered that by the use of the critical reading of documents which underlie education it is possible to realize the ideology diffusion, since a lot of documents make use of the emancipation concept in a ideological manner to mask its genuine conception, hampering the curriculum and education's understanding in a emancipation perspective. Many documents present a false speech of freedom and individuals emancipation, but if you read it critically and through the document's analysis, based on genuine references committed with the emancipatory education it is possible to reveal the intention of instill into the consciences false ideas for accepting things as they are, in other words, adjust men to the reality. The analysis developed revealed the ideological use and the ideological appropriation of the emancipation concept.Item type:Item, “Diversidade e Evolução de Vertebrados” na formação de professores: percepções, desafios, dificuldades e possibilidades de superação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-15) ;Antunes, Taine Vandressa ;Nascimento, Fabrício do ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3496410597486943 ;Mattox, George Mendes Taliaferrohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/4453900943293186Vertebrates constitute the subphylum known as Vertebrata of the Phylum Chordata whose present diversity is fascinating. Although these animals attract attention because they are common in our daily lives, the largest challenge is the understanding of the biological diversity gathered under the same evolutionary history that should overcome the plethora of names and become significant in the teaching-learning process. It is fundamental, therefore, to understand how university students learn and the difficulties faced in the construction of knowledge, being crucial the constant search for strategies, didactic tools and alternatives to facilitate that construction. Thus the aims of the present study involved the qualitative survey of perceptions of undergraduate students of the licentiate degree in Biological Sciences at UFSCar - Campus Sorocaba regarding the learning of the contents of the discipline Diversity and Evolution of Vertebrates, discussing the main difficulties and contributions of this discipline to the Teacher training. The results showed that students difficulties involved basal groups mainly before Tetrapoda, concepts in Phylogenetic Systematics, "Reptilia" and the evolution of the temporal fenestra. Moreover, the lack of proper material such as illustrated guides to support examination of specimens in Lab Classes was cited by many students as an important limitation to learning. Seeking a proposal to cope with the difficulties was elaborated resulting in the Practical Guide: Diversity and Evolution of Vertebrates, a digital material to support Lab Classes, and it was suggested the development of an app related to the guide aiming at facilitating the access to updated contents and to optimize the teaching-learning process.Item type:Item, Políticas de ações afirmativas no Brasil: a UFSCar Sorocaba como objeto de recorrência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-15) ;Toubia, Ariane Andreia Teixeira ;Lima, Paulo Gomes ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5109357037661496https://lattes.cnpq.br/1796810373166008The objective of the research was to analyze the prevailing challenges and referrals of UFSCAR-Campus Sorocaba, as the improvement and expansion support for the student from the Affirmative Action Program, from the speech of PROGRAD and PROACE representatives managers on campus. The methodological theoretical axis constitutes a preliminary bibliographic and documentary by CAPES files data level theses and dissertations of the UFSCAR, listing is relevant and approximate the thematic work. Then we chose the neoinstitutionalism as an analytical theoretical framework, whose emphasis is the study of the institution and its partners, guided by qualitative approach and this cut out the case study, considering that the UFSCar, Campus Sorocaba epistemological research site. The interviews were conducted by the structure of a semi-structured script of questions, preceded by the characterization of the respondents. We interviewed two subjects: 1 representative of the Dean of Undergraduate (PROGRAD) on campus, through the Department of Sorocaba Undergraduate Education (DeEG-Sor) and another of Dean of Community Affairs and Student (PROACE) through Department of Community Affairs and Student Sorocaba - Section of Social Care, Health and Sports (SeASSE). The interviews were conducted by the structure of a semi-structured script of questions, preceded by the characterization of the respondents. We interviewed two subjects: 1 representative of the Dean of Undergraduate (PROGRAD) on campus, through the Department of Sorocaba Undergraduate Education (DeegSer) and another of Dean of Community Affairs and Student (PROACE) through Department of Community Affairs and Student Sorocaba - Section of Social Care, Health and Sports (SeASSE). In the procedural scope, it has been used the document analysis technique (CELLARD, 2010) regarding the registrations and initiatives of the UFSCAR-Sorocaba campus. Regarding the data collection technique, the interviews have helped us to understand their statements about student support at the UFSCar-Sorocaba campus (POUPART, 2010), followed by the content analysis (BARDIN, 2009), in order to understand the voices of respondents and their returns, albeit implicit. Through the answers of respondents found that the adoption of affirmative action policies in UFSCar, not only contributed to provide greater access to historically excluded groups, as provided for students staying conditions through specific institutional support under material and food monitoring, health, transportation, among others.Item type:Item, A esmola e a rede de proteção : um estudo de instituições assistenciais para as pessoas que vivem nas ruas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-15) ;Melo, Natália Maximo e ;Rizek, Cibele Saliba ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0540870380815135https://lattes.cnpq.br/3166409854581684Innumerous City Halls all over Brazil promote periodic campaigns using slogans such as: “Do not spare money: give citizenship and future”, or “Do not spare money. Refer to Assistance services”. Based on these assumptions, we intend to investigate the strategies followed by São Carlos (SP) government in order to manage this population and to keep these people under institutional control. São Carlos was one of the first non-metropolitan cities where homeless population issues were articulated to the establishment of Municipal-Level Public Policies. Having these aspects in mind, some research questions can emerge: Which is this population that is considered as a target by the government? What is the Institutions’ role in the management of homeless people? Methodologically, we observe some practices promoted by the institutions which manage this population, analyzing them through the theories created by Das and Poole in their work State and its Margins: comparative ethnographies (2008). The margins, in our study, cover, thus, Governmental and Non-governmental Organizations; they also cover these organizations’ employees, target public and individuals who are helped by their assistance. Our research mainly investigates the Centro POP (a National Social Assistance Policy Unit administrated by the City Hall) as well as the Hostel (a philanthropic institution which supports and donates tickets to travellers) and the Religious Community (a volunteer work that assists homeless people). To develop this research, we collected in two newspapers from São Carlos dated from 2007 to 2013, as well as the Centro POP’s documentation. We interviewed several people who work at Centro POP and observed their routine as well. Our investigation also based its analysis on the verification of volunteer work promoted by a religious group on a City Center Square and on visits to Assistance Institutions, such as a Hostel and a Religious Community (House of Prayer), related to charity and shelter. We verify these data under Foucault’s (1992, 1999, 2006, 2008) perspectives. According to them, power permeates all kinds of relationships, shaping a microphysics which combines technology and power mechanisms to develop a population that may be managed, articulating some disciplines which, in turn, dominate individuals’ bodies and souls. The results show that a homeless population local Policy may be considered as a device, in which homeless people are connected to social representation, to institutional rules, to philanthropic and state institutions, their specialized professionals, according to a labyrinth of population management.Item type:Item, Representações sociais de aprendizes de português em contexto sul-africano sobre a língua e a cultura do Brasil : subsídios para políticas de difusão e reflexões sobre o ensino de português no exterior(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2016-12-16) ;Silva, Caroline Veloso da ;Viana, Nelson ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6252579012192711https://lattes.cnpq.br/8341450510718757The Social representation is a way in which man signifies his social context transforming the new/strange/unknown into a familiar knowledge. The genesis of the Social Representation is intimately related to the communication processes according to the Social Representation Theory, in which speech has a fundamental role. Under a Bakhtinian perspective, the speech is the main element in verbal interaction, which, on the other hand, signifies the man’s world. Studying social representation inside the language-teaching universe implies understanding a range of images, ideological positions and social beliefs that learners have about a target language and culture. In order to discuss those issues inside the Portuguese teaching universe overseas, we have established as objective of this research: identifying representations concerning linguistic aspects (phonetics, grammar, lexis) to the social context of the Brazilian language and culture and analyze possible influences of contextual variables in the creation and/or transformation in the learners’ social representation. This is a qualitative approach research, and we used the following instruments to produce data: a questionnaire with a mix of open and closed questions, interviews with semi-structured script and field notes. The initial procedure was participant observation. The data was generated at Brazil-South Africa Cultural Centre and 15 Portuguese learners took part in the research. Aiming at analyzing the material, we categorized the data into three main axes: Brazil, Brazilians, and language/culture. Both the questionnaire data and the interview were categorized and grouped according with those three main axes. Nevertheless, the interviews generated a second grouping, which came from each axis. The categorization was organized from Bodgan and Biklen proposal about reference code elaboration. The results revealed structured social representations about Brazil and Brazilian people, anchored in images and perceptions publicized by media and explored by tourism industry; also in historical speeches comparing Brazil and South Africa, which are still broadcasted nowadays. Regards to Portuguese language, the results indicate an affective dimension of social representations, and also connection among Brazilian Portuguese /Brazilian people – German language/German people – Portuguese from Mozambique and Portugal. The understanding of social representations about Brazil, Brazilians and the Portuguese language / Brazilian culture in an international context should be considered in the elaboration of international policies for the diffusion of Portuguese language and Brazilian culture.
