    The productive capacity is conventionally estimated by anamorphic or polymorphic calculated site curves; however, these curves have some limitations. Due to these limitations, the objective of this work was to evaluate the creation of growth curves for site classification by the nonlinear quantile regression method and to compare them with the curves generated by the algebraic difference method. The database was collected in two mesoregions of the state of São Paulo (Paulista and Bauru Metropolitan Macro), with 460 measurements in 98 plots with distinct periods in Eucalyptus sp. The site curves were adjusted according to the Chapman-Richards model using the algebraic difference method for anamorphic and polymorphic curves and nonlinear quantum regression (RNLQ). The results of this work allowed to conclude that the site curves adjusted by the RNLQ method are superior to the curves generated by the algebraic difference method by graphical analysis of the residuals with smaller ranged of the errors and greater homogeneity and residual standard error with lower values in the classes in general.

    The objective of the project and research was to apply and conjecture about a practical approach to the study of payment methods, using commercial proposals of students' daily routine of a technical course in the management area. Assessing the historical and conceptual aspects, as well as associating them to students' daily life, in order to assist the student and the technical future in their future commercial transactions, whether private or professional, and enable them to conceptually and critically evaluate the methods of payment offered in the acquisition of a property, were the main strands developed in the application of the research proposal, as recommended by various scholars in the area of financial education, among them GRANDO and SCHNEIDER (2011). The work was developed, according to the theoretical presuppositions of didactic engineering, in stages, among them the study of conceptual and historical aspects of the amortization system, analysis of everyday situations and the application of questionnaires. The researcher professor conducted the study in the 1st module of technical course in finances at a state technical school in Jaú city. The results obtained in the questionnaires from the students finances course were compared with the results from the students in the first module of the management technical course. However in the management class the content was developed by exposing the theory and solving problem situations. The guiding question for our research was: “Does a practical approach to the study of financing systems help the student by comparing the methods of payment opt for the most economical option?” The analysis of the results presented a favorable framework for the proposal of a practical approach, prioritizing the use of everyday situations, to the study of payment methods besides it offered a more critical learning to the detriment of a reproductive bias normally observed in the teaching of financial mathematics.

    In this work, we describe a semisynthetic derivative of [6]-gingerol called SSi6, which induces cytotoxic effects on the MDA-MB-231 breast tumor, showing a greater selectivity for these cells when compared to the non-tumor MCF-10A , In addition, the substance was determined to induce autophagy and apoptosis in tumor cells, with less pronounced effects on non-tumor cells. The coexistence of both events (autophagy and apoptosis) was demonstrated by flow cytometry, which evidenced an increase in the percentage of apoptotic cells after 24 hours of treatment, these results were also confirmed by the analysis of the gene and protein expression of caspase-3 using Real-time PCR and western blotting respectively. Induction of autophagy in SSi6-treated cells has been demonstrated through acid vesicle organelle (AVOs) detection assays and the expression of genes encoding the LC3-I and II microtubule-associated proteins to quantify the abundance of autophagosomes in MDA-MB-231 cells. Thus, these results indicate that SSi6 has the potential to induce autophagy and apoptosis, as well as antitumor and antimetastatic properties in MDA-MB-231 breast tumor cells.
