Modelo analítico para ecossistemas estaduais de inovação
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-22) Bassalo, Gisa Helena Melo; Torkomian, Ana Lúcia Vitale; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2321084184622795; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9387838201005543
In the recent global scenario, innovation has become strategic for the competitiveness of organizations, regions and countries. It is very difficult to predict or even plan for innovation that has a strong impact on markets, economies and people's lives, but it is possible to plan and focus efforts to strengthen the environment necessary for its emergence. Improving this environment is increasingly related to the ability of these regions and countries to promote innovation. According to critics, the current analytical frameworks for systemic approaches to innovation are not able to provide all the information needed to formulate public policy, or at least struggle to demonstrate how they translate their analytical results into policy prescriptions. In addition, despite their efforts, the most important tools for measuring the ability of territories to innovate are appropriate to the reality of developed economies but are not able to measure the real (innovative) potential of developing or underdeveloped economies. This work proposes to define an operational analytical model to capture the reality of Brazilian innovation ecosystems in terms of their ability to favor innovation. To achieve these objectives, the methodological strategy was carried out in four steps: a systematic review of the literature on innovation policies, indicators and systems; mapping of the characteristics present in this material to construct an analytical schema (set of characteristics and their metrics); validation of the schema through factorial analysis techniques and measuring the innovative performance of ecosystems, and finally; a typology proposal for innovation ecosystems, through cluster analysis techniques, and identification of their potentialities and weaknesses. As a result, we obtained the following: appropriate macro-dimensions, dimensions and indicators to capture the relevant characteristics of innovation state ecosystems; performance measurements of these ecosystems in relation to innovation; a typology for ecosystems according to the macro-dimensions that interfere with their capacity to favor innovation; and the potentialities and weaknesses of the ecosystems of twenty-six states and the Federal District in Brazil through the application of the model. The main scientific and socioeconomic contributions were: generation of knowledge about the Brazilian innovation state ecosystems; an alternative proposal for the operational detailing of analysis and monitoring activities for the operation of these ecosystems; support for future improvement, problem minimization and/or functional actions; a typology to enable the identification of potentialities and weaknesses, and; a proposal for analytical characteristics appropriate to the scale of research in and the socioeconomic condition of developing countries.

Análise do crescimento intraurbano, vazios e áreas verdes: estudo de caso no município de São Carlos (SP)
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-22) Oliveira, Erica Zanardo; Ferreira, Marcilene Dantas; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1557946634389893; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6461927353532646
Among the effects of urban occupation and growth are the urban voids, which can be analyzed to assist in the study of urban dynamics. At the same time, many cities have a lack of green areas and their analysis also enables increase knowledge of local realities. In addition to the use of geoprocessing tools, the application of indexes such as urban green areas index and urban voids percentage, among others, can help further analysis and decision making for urban planning. In this sense, this research carried out analyzes of intra-urban growth, urban voids and green areas in the municipality of São Carlos – SP, covering the years 1998, 2004, 2010 and 2014. For this, it was used satellite images and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to quantify, categorize and evaluate intra-urban growth, local urban voids and green areas using index, multitemporal analyzes and comparisons with watersheds and local geological formations. The results showed that the urban voids reflected the dynamics of population growth, being occupied or created and varying their categories over time, reflecting in a decrease between the years studied. The green areas presented a growth, but with a lower index than the recommended by the UN and SBAU. The analysis of the urban voids and green areas allowed to identify sites with possible environmental fragility within the intra-urban area, such as the amount of urban voids in each geological formation and the existing uses within permanent preservation areas, which may induce improper occupation and use of these areas.

Brazil is considered the most diverse nation in the world and is estimated to have more than 13% of the world biota and 1919 species of birds. However, their removal from the natural environments for both illegal trade and captive maintenance, presents one of the main problems to be solved by the competent organs of fauna protection. In view of this, the centers for the rehabilitation and sorting of wild animals, responsible for receiving, identifying, marking, triaging, evaluating, recovering and allocating specimens of native wildlife were instituted. These institutions make an indispensable contribution to the process of conservation of ex situ species and are strong allies in the relocation of species in their habitat. The objective of this dissertation was to obtain data about the avifauna received at Pro-Arara, a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center created in the municipality of Araras-SP, generating information about the factors that affect the different species and motivate the delivery of these in this type of enterprise, as well as to develop a computer registry system to assist in local management. To do so, data recorded from July 2014 to July 2016 were considered for all species received and destined, as well as their provenance, analyzing by the documentation submitted by the environmental police. The development of the computer program was carried out jointly with the computer sector of the Municipality of Araras and the data collected were compiled and organized in a descriptive statistical way. During the study period, 607 birds were received, totaling 61 species distributed in 15 orders and 25 families. The most frequent order recorded was the Psittaciformes, Psittacidae family, comprising 49.59% of the total number of birds received. Within this group, individuals of the species Psittacara leucophthalmus (18,29%), Brotogeris chiriri (9,56%), Ara ararauna (7,74%) and Amazona aestiva (6,92%) predominated. Seven species are listed in the list of endangered fauna in the State of São Paulo: Ara ararauna (47), Ara chloropterus (1), Alipiopsitta xanthops (1), Sporophila maximiliani (5), Amazona amazonica (9), Sporophila angolensis (16) and Cyanoloxia brissonii (4), corresponding to 13,67% of the total. Regarding the provenance of the animals received, seizures by the environmental police (64,74%), followed by rescue of animals in situations of danger carried out by the competent organs (16,8%) predominated, and spontaneous self-surrender Population, in which the animal was in an irregular domestic guard (9,72%). Of the total number of animals received, 56,01% were referred to areas of release and monitoring in the State of São Paulo and 23,40% remained in the process of rehabilitation. The percentage of deaths recorded was 14,5%. From the results obtained, it is concluded that the Pro-Arara is a fauna enterprise with great importance for the conservation of avifauna species in the state of São Paulo and it would be important to be expanded to increase its capacity to receive animals. Another important action is the intensification of environmental education work, to raise people´s awareness in relation of the role of species in the natural environment.

Non-melanoma skin cancer is the most prevalent type of cancer in Brazil and worldwide. Although, it has low lethality, it presents local malignancy, and the ability to invade and destroy adjacent tissues, representing high impact on the health of the patient. Conventional treatments for basal cell carcinoma (CBC) lesions include topical and, more usually, surgical techniques. The surgical treatment is one of the most efficient procedures. However, this technique requires specialized infrastructure, in addition to frequently requiring patient hospitalization, and presenting the possibility of anatomical and aesthetic functionality reductions at the site of the treated lesion. Topical Photodynamic Therapy is a technique that offers advantages as: excellent aesthetic result - especially when treating large area superficial lesions, possibility of application for outpatients in ambulatory, and presenting a minimum functional impact of the treated anatomycal site. Fractionated Photodynamic Therapy is a modification of the usual technique in which the full dose of light is delivered in steps separated by a periods of time ("dark intervals"). This period allows re-oxygenation of the tissue, re-distribution and accumulation of protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) that leads to greater cellular damage with positive repercussion in the final response to treatment. The cure rates using this protocol in some studies are similar to the conventional protocol. However, in Brazil, no studies using this technique for treatment of BCC have been published. Thus, we proposed to evaluate the complete and partial response to the four different protocols of fractional Photodynamic Therapy, when evaluated after 30 days of treatment. The study showed a complete response of 65.8%, 67.6%, 72.7% and 95.4% in the groups 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively. We observed that the dark interval and the irradiated light dose are parameters of great importance for the final response to the treatment. Our results suggest that Fractionated Photodynamic Therapy is a technique with excellent aesthetic result and complete response when evaluated 30 days after treatment. However, a longer follow-up will be necessary for better understanding of the behavior of the lesions treated.

This work is about the existence of a use of só que não, variant of só que, which, in essence, expresses speaker’s irony with respect to a preceding proposition. Our object of study originated from the internet, as numerous other expressions, what shows the innovative and refreshing role of the World Wide Web on language uses. By breaking paradigms, the Internet slang has been responsible for promoting several discussions about the degree of its influence on the writing of those still in school age. However, meeting place even in strong groups of newspaper or magazine, with national circulation, the expression só que não consists of more a case of grammaticalization. Concerning different ways of só que não occurrence, once it can appear only with its initials, for example (#)SQN, we based on Longhin-Thomazi’s study (2003a, 2003b) to analyze its behavior on syntactic, semantic, pragmatic and textual aspects, given our hypothesis was prove it as a expression with conjunction role. Therefore, we adopt a methodology that considers effective use of the language, as is usual in functionalist studies, aiming to describe real events synchronously. We thus count on the WebCorp, which can, by offering a series of filters and contextualizing redeemed occurrences, be considered a versatile tool in the search for occurrences (CAMARGO, 2012). In this sense, our analysis criteria, which are (i) position of the expression, (ii) its denial and setback, (iii) its irony, and (iv) its association with several textual genres, allowed us to achieve the following results: the expression prefers locate itself always after some textual portion, what means that só que não acts over a piece of information located immediately before of it; all of our occurrences emphasize that both expectations drop and irony are product of its presence; and its recurrence on texts from column, opinion article and editorial genres mainly. It is concluded then that the expression has suffered action of grammaticalization as a conjunction, according to Hopper’s study (1991), by confirming our initial hypothesis.

Risco e vitimização policial militar: da caserna à política
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-22) Joly, Bruno Renan; Sinhoretto, Jacqueline; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7743699562476490; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1056535063405746
The present work aims to outline the issue of risk, victimization and the suffering of the military police as factors that more than inherent to the profession are reinforced by the manner the public security in Brazil is structured. We show that the victimization of the military police goes far beyond death, being constituted by issues related to mental illness, persecution, exclusion, suicide, class conflicts and gender. We also bring to the discussion the problematization of the precarious working conditions to which the praças – low-ranking police officers – of the military police are subjected to, and how this reinforces the high and complex victimization situation. Finally, we identify a scenario in which there is a dispute around the truth concerning the issues that afflict the praças: on the one hand, the associations of this military police workers that intend to represent in the legal and political sphere a whole class of professionals devoided of the right to this representation. On the other hand, the parliamentarians of the so-called "bancada da bala", which use elements such as the high death rates among the military police to support political positions of hardening and militarization of public security. In a context where this issue has become a political agenda and an open discussion between the police and civil society, attempts are made to understand how this movement occurs, given that the military police is a sealed institution and its internal directives hardly become public. We analyse the role of both the praças association and the parliamentarians of “bancada da bala” on this issue. Through bibliographic review, analysis of quantitative data and semi-structured interviews, we seek to explore how the issue of police suffering is subjectivated by these professionals and what are the implications for both professionals in their personal lives and public security. It is concluded that the military police agents live a regime of exception within a democratic regime and that, therefore, they end up becoming guarantors of a social order based on the duties and not the rights.
