listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Uso de armadilhas fotográficas para avaliação preliminar da mastofauna da fazenda do Zoológico de São Paulo, em Araçoiaba da Serra/SP, como subsídio para a transição agroecológica e conservação da fauna(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-23) Pereira, Lais Rodrigues; Schlindwein, Marcelo Nivert; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9690898537150950; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3068520607056668About half of the Earth's land surface is focused on farming activities, showing its impact on biodiversity conservation, with Atlantic Forest being one of the most devastated biomes, yet presenting an index of diversity and endemism. Among several anthropogenic pressures, agriculture and husbandry are considered the major causes of environmental degradation. Before this scenario, it is necessary to improve policies and encourage a model of agricultural development that maintains productivity, but in a sustainable way preserving the environment and biodiversity, as is proposed by agroecology. Another aggravating threat from conventional agriculture is the contamination by pesticides end it is in this context that agroecology and conservation biology meet in common interests in order to preserve the fauna present in these spaces. This work, in turn, presents a survey of mammals from the Farm of São Paulo Zoo, located in Araçoiaba da Serra / SP, through camera traps. Were sampled plots aimed at both agriculture and forest fragments. Between June and September 2016, two sample campaigns were carried out using 30 camera traps simultaneously. In total, more than 17 thousand videos were analyzed and 13 species of mammals were registered, especially the giant anteater, an animal considered vulnerable (VU) in the extinction risk assessment for the State of São Paulo. Understanding the farm as a potential space for the conservation of wild fauna, the data collected in this work aim to subsidize the proposal of the agroecological transition, highlighting the Agroforestry Systems tool.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Comportamento elétrico de nanocompósitos baseados em copolímeros em bloco e nanotubos de carbono(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-23) Santos, João Paulo Ferreira; Bretas, Rosario Elida Suman; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2805349172281345; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1053336670259691In this work conductive polymer nanocomposites (CPNs) based on block copolymers and multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were obtained. Two of the copolymers were commercial: polystyrene-b-polybutadiene-b-polystyrene (SBS), and polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene-butylene)-b-polystyrene (SEBS). The other copolymer was synthesized: polystyrene-b-poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PS-b-PVDF). Three systems of block copolymer/MWCNT were then obtained and studied for specific purposes. The SBS/MWCNT was produced using two routes: the solution and melt mixing. The influence of the processing conditions on the structure and on the electrical conductivity of these nanocomposites were evaluated and compared. For the second system, SEBS/MWCNT, the aim was evaluate the influence of the grafting of MWCNT with PS on the conductivity of the nanocomposites. For the third system, PS-b-PVDF/MWCNT, the aim was to evaluate the influence of the polymer matrix on the conductivity of the nanocomposites. The nanocomposites had their electrical properties evaluated by measurements of DC electrical conductivity and AC impedance spectroscopy. Their morphologies were evaluated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and electron microscopy; and their structures were analyzed by small angle X ray scattering (SAXS). The results showed that the higher electrical conductivities and the lower percolation thresholds were obtained for the SBS/MWCNT nanocomposites obtained by the solution technique. The SEBS/MWCNT nanocomposites with PS grafted on MWCNT had higher conductivity than the non-grafted systems. The nanocomposites PS-b-PVDF/MWCNT had also better conductivities than the PVDF/MWCNT. Therefore, it was shown that both the modification of the processing, as well as the filler and the matrix are suitable approaches to control the structures and the electrical conductivity of CPNs based on MWCNT and block copolymers.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Mattoso Câmara : uma experiência de divulgação científica da linguística do/no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-23) Boschilia, Camila Cristina; Signori, Mônica Baltazar Diniz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5524678730650668; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7714299323723047This Masters dissertation proposes a study of the linguist Joaquim Mattoso Câmara Júnior, concentrating on the researcher's figure as science communicator. For this study we start from the reflection of language as divulgation object, addressing concepts of the dissemination, didactization and publicity, supported in studies of the authors Jacqueline Authier-Revuz and Eni Orlandi about scientific divulgation discourse. For the realization of this approach, we discuss the relationship between enunciator and enunciatee and the enunciative strategies present in textualization process as proposed by Semiotics Discourse. We have established as analysis corpus the researcher's scientific divulgation texts published in the newspaper Correio da Manhã in 1934 and in the magazine A Cigarra Magazine between the years 1957-1960. We intend to draw attention to the importance of dissemination of linguistic science of/in Brazil, encouraging the realization of science disseminators activities at present, contribute to research on the language, especially when it comes to divulgation object and intellectual productions of the researche, besides discuss about the actuality of the initiative of researcher, since it is still evident the need for divulgation of linguistic science and, together, the making of their professional, the linguist, and its value and recognition to various areas of human activity in society.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Trabalho calado : os Kaingang do Toldo Chimbangue e as indústrias de carne(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-23) Stefanuto, Míriam Rebeca Rodeguero; Vander Velden, Felipe Ferreira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7289231173735671; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9091274427012716This dissertation examines the relationship between work in the slaughterhouses and the Kaingang way of life in the Toldo Chimbangue indigenous land, located in the municipality of Chapecó, in the western region of the state of Santa Catarina. The region is an important producer of pork and poultry meat, and the state is one of the most important of the meat sector in Brazil, producing for the domestic and foreign markets. Recently, the Kaingang have been hired by the slaughterhouses, that it’s offers transportation from the village to the industries. As this research seeks to present, being employed in slaughterhouses means subjecting to conditions that are admittedly exhaustive and harmful to workers. In addition to health issues, a repetitive production line that gets sick the Kaingangs bodies differs from village practices and knowledge, especially those concerning animal breeding, feeding, notions of work and the territory of the Toldo Chimbangue. These elements are what constitute and characterize the Kaingang being, according to themselves, and the work in the slaughterhouses and what it represents and implies is opposed to this way of life considered truly Kaingang. It is on those relationships and oppositions that this research is concerned.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O fetiche da mercadoria “verde” : a questão ambiental na construção social da imagem do etanol brasileiro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-23) Gameiro, Mariana Bombo Perozzi; Martins, Rodrigo Constante; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6617183095074852; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5015952241455361This research aims to understand the social construction of the image of Brazilian ethanol, with special attention to the period from 2003 to 2014, through the investigation of the discourses that contribute to the formation of regimes of truth about the "green commodity" and the articulations between political and economic actors interested in it. The period is marked by the (re)birth of ethanol in the national market under the appeal of a "sustainable product", apparently desired by society, who would demand renewable energy sources that can replace polluting and depleting fossil fuels. In contrast to these discourses we can find those who point out that sugarcane ethanol carries within itself social relations historically marked by bad working conditions, by the concentration of land and power, by the depreciation of natural resources and by the competition with food production. In this context, many efforts have been undertaken by governments and the sugar and ethanol industry to overcome the contradictions in which ethanol is involved, in order to make it an internationally accepted commodity. The thesis considers, therefore, that the process of production of the green commodity involves works that go beyond those necessary for the materialized constitution of the product, also requiring a work of symbolic production, not always perceived like that, of which science is a fundamental part. The thesis then proposes that the green commodity is composed by particular types of value (“collective use value” and a “ethical exchange value”). These values, which are found in addition to traditional values described by sociological theories, mark the specificities of a type of commodity that objectively and symbolically results of capitalistic processes boosted by moral justifications. By understanding the market as a result of political, cultural, and axiological disputes that surpass the economic sphere, and searching the representations about Brazilian ethanol, this thesis analytically dialogues with rural sociology and environmental sociology, maintaining a strong interface with the field of economic sociology. Methodologically, qualitative procedures of social research were employed, with emphasis on semi-structured interview techniques, biographies and document analysis.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Formação com professores de língua inglesa da rede pública no Tocantins : cenas de letramento crítico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-06-23) Alencar, Elisa Borges de Alcântara; Paula, Sandra Regina Buttros Gattolin de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9228036521343293; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7565497834655581This thesis deals with a teacher development experience with nine participants from seven public schools in a city in the interior of the Northern Region of Tocantins, experienced through a collaborative work involving the participants and the researcher, from the perspective of Critical Literacy as a philosophy of English language teaching and learning. The study troubles the role of the English language in the curriculum in face of the challenges of globalization in a way in which the teachers were able to visualize this matter, especially in the local context of this study. The main objective was to analyze the formulation process from a perspective of Critical Literacy and its unfolding in the classroom practices, through several activities elaborated collaboratively to be used in the classes taught by the participating teachers. This study was oriented by the scope of applied linguistics and critical applied linguistics, with emphasis on postmodern and poststructuralist assumptions about foreign language teaching. This research has its methodological approach based on the qualitative and ethnographic studies (school ethnography). It is characterized as a collaborative-action research, with emphasis on three main aspects: agency, criticity and meaning making. Results demonstrate the possibility of a more meaningful and critical point of view in English language teaching with a critical and collaborative perspective, broadening an understanding of the value of other views on the implications of teaching English in this local context and its connections with the global context.
