listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, OSCIP e SUS: ligações possíveis a partir de um estudo de caso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-11-17) Silva, Mariana Sanchez Ramos da; Fioroni, Luciana Nogueira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8086810053892035; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0525846101417453In Brazil, private public interest initiatives undertaken in the third sector have assumed an important role in civil society by complementing the health care provided by the public health network. In São Carlos, a city located in São Paulo state, the Multidisciplinary Health Care Center (CAMS) association represents a specific model of care that is defined as a Public Interest Civil Society Organization (OSCIP), which enables the provision of health care to low income population. Since CAMS handles a great number of cases concerning mental health care and physical and psychosocial rehabilitation of patients that have a socioeconomic status similar to that of Unified Health System (SUS) users, a study addressing this specific OSCIP was necessary to evaluate the aspects regarding patient referral to CAMS and which health care needs are met. This is a cross-sectional case study that aimed to investigate the health care demand using empirical data. The proposed methodological approach used enabled the analysis of the existing articulation between local SUS and CAMS; to describe and characterize the profile of the users and the demands that arrived at the CAMS and to identify the flows established between the municipal health services and CAMS. Therefore, a research was carried out in CAMS’ patient socioeconomic status screening database for one year. Data were entered into spreadsheets to determine the main socioeconomic characteristics of the studied population, the services sought, and the source of the referrals. Results showed that the majority of patients were women under 30 years old who had completed primary education, who did not have a private health care plan, and whose income was lower than minimum wage. These findings show that these are characteristics similar to those of SUS’ patients. The most commonly sought services highlighted the weaknesses of Sao Carlos’ Health Care Network (RAS): mental health and child health. The main source of referrals public services which were not necessarily included in the RAS: equipment and services of a public university, which configured a specific relationship between CAMS and university. In an effort to meet a specific demand for specialized health care, CAMS’ operations bring to light the deficiencies and shortcomings of the public health care system in Sao Carlos. It is concluded that the results can support future planning and communication actions between CAMS, the public university and the local SUS, aiming to minimize fragility of care in Mental Health and Child Health.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Mecanismos eletroquímicos nos processos de descarga do sistema PbO2/H2SO4(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-11-17) Freitas, Heverson Renan de; D'Alkaine, Carlos Ventura; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8699821828310072; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8829870766609044The goal of this work was to seek a mechanistic and morphological understanding of the discharge process of lead-acid batteries’ positive plates, which exhibits a complex porous structure. Due to this fact, nonporous electrodes, ideally porous electrodes and positive plates were investigated. Studies on the discharge process of nonporous electrodes facilitated the reactional processes understanding from a mechanistic and morphological point of view. It was shown the existence of two steps during the discharge process. The first step is easily invertible and follows a solid state reaction mechanism, in which is possible to calculate the ionic resistivity evolution during the voltametric transient. The discharge product of the first step seems to be a PbOn1 electronic conductor (due to its stoichiometry) and, from the fact that it is a very thin film attached to the surface, this product was not observable by SEM measurements. On the other hand, the second step is not easily invertible and occurs at slower rates. During the second step, there is a stoichiometric change on the discharge product of the first step, giving rise to a PbOn2 (unstable and electronic insulator) that reacts with H2SO4 on the solution and forms lead basic sulfates. By the end of the second step, the discharge products give rise to structures observable by SEM measurements, which result from a dissolution/precipitation mechanism (that may occur due to longer processes times). The final stationary potential for discharge process of the PbO2/H2SO4 system was determined. Studies on ideally porous electrodes made it clear the existence of a zonal character of the discharge reactions. Studies on positive plates allowed the understanding of how complex the kinetic processes are on porous electrodes when compared to nonporous systems. Due to the structural complexity and the reactional zonal character, the transformations are much slower (time order of months). Besides that, the equilibrium O2/H2O must be taken into account to understand the results on positive plates, due to O2 bubbles trapped inside the pores during previous charge processes. These interpretations were made possible by Open Circuit Potential measurements assisted by concepts of Mixed Potential and Dynamical Systems Theories, specially the concept of attractor. This methodology allowed a new approach to electrochemical processes that implies multiple electrodes.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Função cardíaca e metabolismo de machos e fêmeas de Rhinella icterica no período reprodutivo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-11-17) Salla, Raquel Fernanda; Costa, Monica Jones; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0578970203313985; Kalinin, Ana Lúcia; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5493936744279888; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1738422158151824Considering the absence of studies on the cardiac function of distinct sexes of native anuran amphibians, the present study proposed to compare the basal heart rate (fh) and the importance and participation of the main proteins involved in the excitation-contraction coupling of each sex in Rhinella icterica species: the Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX), the sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase (SERCA), its advisory protein phospholamban (PLB), and the Na +/K+ ATPase membrane protein. In addition, the analysis of the basal metabolic rate of the animals verified if the cardiac characteristics are related to the metabolic level of each sex in this species. For this, in vitro experiments with ventricular cardiac strips treated with rianodine were performed, which demonstrated a significant reduction of the contraction force, indicating a relevant partitioning of the sarcoplasmic reticulum in both genera of this species, but more evident in males. LiCl treatment demonstrated a greater dependence of females on the role of NCX as a source of calcium for contraction, and even more on relaxation mechanisms. The ouabain protocol demonstrated a significant importance of Na +/K+ ATPase in both sexes, especially in the relaxation mechanisms. Corroborating these results, the expression of SERCA and PLB was higher in males, and NCX showed higher expression in females. The analyzes of basal metabolic rate of males also revealed higher values, which indicates a possible relationship between the metabolic rate of each sexual gender and their cardiac function adapted to each metabolism in this species. Cardiac function, therefore, varies according to sex in R. icterica, which represents an unprecedented finding in the comparative physiology of anuran amphibians.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O zumbi de Bruce LaBruce em Otto; or, Up with dead people(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-11-17) Silva, Thales Figueiredo da; Costa, Flávia Cesarino; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1653890782950111; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7345796001621366The Canadian filmmaker Bruce LaBruce has a production focused on the discussions of the LGBT + theme, with questions about sexual gender and cinematographic language. In Otto; or, Up with dead people (2008) he uses for the first time the zombie like element to elaborate the subjects that are expensive to his work. From the study of this film we intend to explore the strategies employed by this queer filmmaker, so we can point out some possible reasons that led him to work with a character with a great tradition of cinema as the zombie.
