In this dissertation, we investigate the magnetoelastic properties of nickel ferrite compared to the pure metal nickel, either by ab-initio calculation or through experiments using the capactive cell technique. The first step of our approach is to establish the convergence criteria on density functional theory (DFT). This also required us to benchmark our method by using other materials such as pure Fe, Co and diamond. The first step of our study is to explore not only the approach of DFT but also its capacity to describe other properties. Since all the electronic structures of theses material have been suitably reported, the second step of our calculation demonstrates how close to the experimental data DFT may result the elastic constants. The results has shown reasonably error to the actual values. On the third moment, our investigation resides to find the magnetostriction coefficient through DFT, which met in accordance with the experiments we carried out using the capacitance technique.

Introduction: The changes imposed by congestive heart failure (CHF) on health status and poor prognosis can influence the behavior of autonomic cardiac modulation and worsen the quality of life (QL) of these individuals, especially in the presence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2). Objectives: To evaluate whether cardiovascular variables and cardiac autonomic modulation are more affected in individuals with CHF and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in the presence of DM2 when compared to isolated CHF. Methodology: Individuals diagnosed with CHF and DM2, distributed in 2 groups: GHF and GHFDM2. All were submitted to echocardiogram examination, assessment of the degree of physical activity, evaluation of QL and assessment of cardiac autonomic modulation. Statistical analysis: Student's t-test or Mann-Whitney test, Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test, with significance level of p <0.05. Results: i) GHF presented a mean RR interval response (iRR) to active postural change, however, the heart rate variability index didn’t change in response to this maneuver; ii) In the individuals studied, the DM2 associated with CHF doesn’t modify the QL. Conclusion: Individuals with isolated CHF respond to active postural maneuvers only with adjustments of the mean iRR, and that the presence of DM2 in CHF doesn’t modify the QL of these individuals.

The Distance Education has undergone significant changes that concerns the way in which the teaching work is organized. In the modality, not just one, but multiple professionals should work in consonance to guarantee the teaching-learning processes. In addition, in the Brazilian experience, the Distance Education has been developed, in public institutions, by policies with an emergency character such as the Universidade Aberta do Brasil System (UAB). In addition to the inherent complexities of the teaching work in Distance Education, it is added, therefore, related aspects in the precariousness of work. Thus, this research has the main objective of analyze the consequences from the teaching work organization in the Distance Education in light of the concept of polidocência. In order to meet the main objective, our analysis is based on five specific objectives: to perform a bibliometric study on the scientific production of the area; to characterize the Universidade Aberta do Brasil system and the configuration of the teaching adopted in its courses, analyzing the implications in the institutionalization of the Distance Education; to discriminate the division of teaching work and its implications for teaching in the Distance Education; to investigate the labor relations between teachers in the Distance Education; to explore the teacher knowledge used in Distance Education and its implications in the relations of power and knowledge in the context of polidocência. About the methodology, we used methodological triangulation, considering that we simultaneously used qualitative and quantitative methods. The methodological procedures, in turn, occurred as follows: bibliometric analysis using the thesis basis elaborated by the Grupo Horizonte; documentary analysis from the pedagogical projects of courses offered under the UAB System; application of virtual questionnaires to teachers-authors, teachers-applicators and virtual and face-to-face tutors who work or have already worked in the UAB System; semi structured interviews with these same teachers. Through this research, we observed that the researches about Distance Education and especially about teaching work in the modality, still represent a very small part of the scientific production related to Education in Brazil. We also verified that the UAB System has standardized the configuration of teaching work in the Distance Education. Our study also reveals that teaching in the modality is divided and fragmented, so that each professional is responsible for a specific set of activities and functions. In addition, the Distance Education has characteristics related to productive restructuring, such as flexibilization and teleworking, which, among other aspects, promote perversities for the teachers. In the research we also identified that the constitution of teaching knowledge is complex. Thus, the knowledge base for the teaching of each professional comes from multifaceted sources and includes knowledge of digital technologies. Our study also suggests that the relations of knowing relate to those of power in the context of polidocência.

The concern with the future of water on the planet has increased in past years, mainly due to the recent water crisis suffered throughout the country. The dissolved air flotation (DAF) operation is an example of the resumption of studies in the application and optimization of classic industry operations and has its potential for water treatment confirmed in the literature. It is characterized by using air microbubbles for the removal of suspended particles in liquid mixtures and has already been presented as an useful operation for treatment steps, however, with a high operating cost. In the study of flows in equipment, the Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) technique has been highlighted. This technique can aid in analyzing and obtaining information on constructive equipment configurations, scaling parameters and optimized operating conditions. In this work, the Ansys Fluent 14.5 software was used for the CFD simulation of the DAF process in horizontal tank, seeking to fit a representative mathematical model (set of equations) and numerical procedure based on experimental data from the literature. Initially, for the definition of the computational mesh, the GCI test was applied, capable of quantifying the mesh discretization error. Then, different multiphase models that consider the Euler-Euler approach were compared through the qualitative behavior for the diameters of 30-50-70 μm. With the diameter of 50 μm, the influence of the turbulence, trawling and contour conditions for the tank surface used by the literature to represent the FAD process was verified. After adjusting the fluid dynamics model, the population balance equations (EBP) for the microbubble size distribution was applied and the influence of models describing the phenomena interaction like coalescence (turbulent and Luo model) and breakage (Luo model) in the structure of the air flow and air distribution was verified. A greater influence of the coalescence phenomenon was observed.

Introduction: school is a favorable environment for health problems. Prevention and health promotion actions are priorities, however, it is necessary for teachers to know how to handle the situation. Yet educators are fearful and insecure. General objective: to analyze the self-confidence of preschool and basic education teachers with regard to the management of health problems at the school. Specific objectives: to describe the construction and validation of the visual analog scale of self-confidence of teachers to handle health problems at school and to identify the factors associated with self-confidence before and after educational activities and associated to the promotion of self-confidence. Method: organized in two stages: the first stage refers to the first specific objective and is characterized as a methodological study. Twelve judges participated in the content validation and 25 teachers in the semantic validation. Internal consistency was determined by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The second stage addressed the second specific objective and is characterized as a quasi-experimental pre- and post-test study. Seventy-six teachers participated, subdivided into four schools. For each school, the production of the empirical material took place in three meetings. The research instruments used were: characterization tool; Visual analog scale of teachers' self-confidence to manage health problems at school; Knowledge assessment questionnaire to deal with health problems at school and Scale of satisfaction with the simulated clinical experiences. The educational activity consisted of four simulated scenarios. Data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistics, using the Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis, Spearman's correlation coefficient and multivariate linear regression. The ethical provisions for research involving human beings were met. Results: The final visual analog scale consists of 12 items. All items were evaluated as pertinent, obtaining 100% of agreement among the judges and being considered clear by the target audience, with high internal consistency among the items. Regarding the second stage, a low average self-confidence score was found before the educational activity. After participating in the simulated scenarios, self-confidence was promoted. The variable "background experience with health problems" presented a statistically significant association with the mean self-confidence score (p=0.026) and the mean self-confidence promotion score (p=0.001). The variable "knowledge promotion" had a weak negative correlation with the mean self-confidence score (p=-0.273). The variable "professional experience" maintained a significant relationship with the mean self-confidence score in the post-phase (p=0.008). Final considerations: teachers feel uncomfortable to cope with health problems at school. The results can support the planning of health education actions in the school environment.

Introduction: Individuals after stroke expend more energy during walking and this contributes to an increasingly inactive lifestyle, increasing the risk of developing a new cerebrovascular and/or cardiac events. The Compendium of Physical Activities may overestimate or underestimate energy expenditure in people following stroke. Thus, more accessible methods to estimate energy costs in this population are important to prescribe physical activity and exercise. Objective: To evaluate whether there is a correlation between StepWatch™ Activity Monitor (SAM) and the energy cost of walking in participants after chronic stroke. Methods: This study is a correlational, cross-sectional pilot study. Twenty participants following stroke were analyzed. All procedures were carried out in two days. On the first day, the performance on the six-minute walk test (6MWT) was measured, and then the SAM was placed on the participant’s non-paretic ankle. Metabolic variables were collected using a portable metabolic system (Oxycon Mobile®) during walking in the 6MWT. Nine days later, the participants returned and the SAM was removed. The energy cost of walking was calculated by dividing peak oxygen consumption by the distance in meters achieved in the 6MWT. Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient was used to evaluate whether there is a correlation among variables of interest and the magnitude of the correlation was based on Munro’s classification. All analyses were carried out with the SPSS 20.0 software with a significance level of 5%. Results: The energy cost of walking correlated with the number of steps (r¬s = - 0.666, p = 0.001), percentages of time in inactivity (r¬s = 0.503, p = 0.024), low cadence (r¬s = 0.782, p < 0.001), medium cadence (r¬s = - 0.632, p = 0.003) and high cadence (r¬s = - 0.673, p = 0.001) and the percentages of steps taken at low cadence (r¬s = 0.707, p < 0.001) and high cadence (r¬s = - 0.620, p = 0.004). Conclusion: SAM seems to be a good activity monitor to infer the energy cost of walking in people following chronic stroke, and should be considered to help clinicians to prescribe exercise for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases after stroke.

The objective of this research was to analyse which initiatives and repercussions with regard to the democratization of the affirmative policies of action about the admission and continuity in the college education of the degree course of the Pedagogy of UERJ, in accordance with the 12.711/12 law though the prevailing professors outlook of the recurrence painted out and forwarding demanded for the attendance to the students from the reading of your institutional reality. The central points of the leading me course are: a) affirmative action policies in international experiences; b) the contextualization of affirmative action policies within the framework of Brazil's public educational policies; c) explaining the genesis, development and deployment of education policies actions in the UERJ and d) discuss in the light of the prevailing speeches the perspective of the professors of the Pedagogy of UERJ a reading between proposition, actions and demands. The theoretical methodological axis was preliminarily a bibliographical and documentary survey through the Bank of theses and dissertations of CAPES and the institutional repository of documentary base of UERJ. The Collective Subject Discourse (DSC in Portuguese) was used as an analytical theoretical framework, which emphasis was to situate and filter incidences of discourses, recurrences and demands, guided by the quanti-qualitative approach and in this section, the case study, considering that the UERJ is the local epistemological research. As one of the instruments of data collection, interviews were chosen through a semi-structured script, preceded by characterization of the respondents. We had 17 returns as the respondents set, that is, professors who work with disciplines in the Pedagogy course. In the procedural scope, we use the documentary analysis technique (CELLARD, 2010) regarding UERJ records and initiatives and more specifically the pedagogy course in the referral of the recurrences to attendance, debate and reflection on the affirmative action policies within it. Regarding the data collection technique, the interviews helped us to understand the respondents' perception of the meanings and meanings that were triggered within the pedagogy course in the reality of UERJ (POUPART, 2010), followed by content analysis (BARDIN, 2009) and Collective Subject Discourse (LEFEVRE, 2014). Through the return of the respondents, it was verified that the affirmative action policies implemented in 2002/2003 the UERJ selection process through the statutes 3524/00 and 3708/01 and continue to fulfill their objectives of providing population access to university education, but in the Pedagogy course, due to low competition, the access to the course is seen in a simple way. Professors, for the most part, know the quota system and support it. They report that there was no impact of the quotas reflected in the classroom, because they reach their goals in the classroom and they do not notice a difference between the student and non-quotators, because the difficulties presented in the first moments are general, having the coordination of the course as support to the students as voluntary initiatives of teachers. However the inclusion to the university education is a subject that do not requires only suitability programs of the inclusive ones, are effective necessary polices to the non exclusion of the expropriated in a social and economic way.

Álgebras de Hopf, objetos galois e identidades polinomiais
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-02-21) Oliveira Junior, Abel Gomes de; Schützer, Waldeck; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8638200922501477; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9426745921249950
Our main goal is to study Hopf algebras and Galois objects, from the point of view of the polynomial identities, more precisely how these objects are distinguished by their polynomial H-identities. To this end we follow the program started by C. Kassel. There he defines polynomial H-identities to H-comodule algebras, gives some properties of these T-ideals and uses Galois objects classifications, as made by Bichon for the monomial Hopf algebras of type I, to find polynomial identities that distinguish those objects. In that case, the existence of an algebra homomorphism such that the kernel coincides with the T-ideal of the H-identities is crucial.

In the family environment, individuals maintain their first interpersonal relationships with significant people, establishing important affective support for the development of each member. In this way, it is known that family is a privileged space for the development of the individual and of society. However, the birth of a disabled child can alter family relationships, and for many families there will be a need to undergo changes and adaptations. Considering the importance of families for child development and that parents of children with disabilities can experience parental experience in a differentiated way, this research aimed to identify and compare quality of life, resources, parental educational social skills, marital relationship, needs and social support, between parents and mothers of children with intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and delay in child development and correlate these variables. The research was developed with 120 participants, being 60 mothers and 60 parents. Participants were divided into four groups, each group being composed of 30 participants (15 fathers and 15 mothers). The groups were divided according to the diagnosis of children (intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and delayed child development). To collect data, the following instruments were used: Quality of Life Questionnaire "WHOQOL-bref"; Inventory of resources in the family environment; Script of Social Parenting Educational Skills Interview; Conjugal Relationship Questionnaire; Questionnaire on family needs and Social support questionnaire. These instruments contain quantitative data, which have been carried out measures of central tendency and dispersion. To compare the data of the parents and the mothers, from each group separately, the t-test was performed and the Pearson correlation test was used to relate the variables. The results showed that there were differences in at least one aspect related to quality of life, social educational parental skills, resources in the family environment, marital relationship, need and social support, when comparing fathers and mothers of children with intellectual disability, physical, autism and delayed neuropsychomotor development. As an exception, the items related to the follow-up and non-follow-up (G1, G2, G3 and G4), the daily activities of the child (G1, G3 and G4), the attitudes of the spouse who (G1 and G3) and social support (G4), which did not present statistically significant differences. The data suggest that the parents of children with disabilities experience their role in a different way, emphasizing that the interventions must meet the demands of the same considering their singularities. The correlations showed that the higher the parents' satisfaction with quality of life, marital relationship and social support, the smaller the family needs were, the higher the levels of social support were available, and the more skilled the parents could be. present in the parental and matrimonial relationship. It is concluded that the parental demands are modified depending on the deficiency and developmental delay that the child has. Thus, it is important to provide services, projects and programs that involve families and consider their real demands.

Cristalização e separação de KCI a partir de carnalita : síntese de processo, simulação e viabilidade econômica
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-02-21) Tavares, Jaciomar Alves; Giulietti, Marco; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7703659740618915; Bernardo, André; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5705402824877708; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3191021230710929
Due to the increasing demand for potassium in Brazil, it is feasible to exploit carnallite in order to supply part of the national need for this alkali metal, whose reserves of raw material - in this case sylvite - are depleted and, therefore, at imminent risk of scarcity. This work proposes to develop, simulate and verify the economic feasibility of the process of dissolution and crystallization of potassium chloride (KC1) from the Carnallite ore, based on theoretical and practical data available in the literature. By means of applied methods and observation of the results, it was verified that the reconstruction of the system diagram KCl-NaCl-MgCl2-H2O (Hoffman, 2004) and the obtaining of its representative equation presented positive results, verified during the comparison between values calculated in the equation and values collected from the original diagram. Another crucial factor in obtaining the equation is that it makes it possible to calculate the concentrations of potassium chloride (KCl) and magnesium chloride (MgCl2) at various temperatures, from 0ºC to 105ºC, which is more imprecise from the interpolation of the limited diagram temperatures. The proposed process provided more than 85% crystallization of potassium chloride, demonstrating its superior performance compared to existing procedures. In this work the simulation of 3 process trajectories was developed, with all its variables and results. These were effective for studies of the determination of the crystallization processes of potassium chloride (KCl) and its economic feasibility, since in Brazil the situation is of a market with great demand and possibility of expansion, an agricultural country and in full development of technologies to expand production, which may mean an increasing demand for potassium chloride (KCl) as fertilizer. The best simulated configuration (higher yield) provides a return rate of 93.71% of the capital invested in a year.
