Tradução de poesia concreta do português para a Libras: transcriando um poema de Paulo Leminski

Bearing in mind: A) the challenges inherent in the translation of poetry due to its condition as an aesthetic object; B) the specificities involved in the activity of mobilizing speeches of a linguistic pair that contains linguistic modalities (oral-auditory and visual-gestural-spatial) and different semiotic translation supports - Portuguese written language and Brazilian Sign Language (Libras); and, C) the characteristics of Concrete Poetry, mainly with regard to the use of the graphic space of the page as a structural agent, this work presents a practical proposal of transcreation (in the Haroldian conception), in the Portuguese Language> Brazilian Sign Language direction, for the poem 'metamorphosis' by Paulo Leminski. To substantiate the proposal and reflections, authors like Bakhtin (1988) are placed in dialogue; Barros (2015); Campos (2013); Campos, Campos and Pignatari (1975); Segala (2010), among others. To create the parallels in the poem in Libras, a varied set of strategies was used, with verbal and non-verbal resources, from linguistic and discursive strategies to video editing semiotics, such as: phonological-lexical organization, use of expressions facial and body, speed and rhythm of signaling, acceleration and reduction of speed through editing, color change of the image, application of image effects, among other resources. It is believed that the research contributes, above all, to the discussions and reflections it raises about the influences of intermodality and intersemiosis in the transcriatory activity of concrete poetry for Libras, showing the creative character of the translator and the power of the concept of transcreation in this context. The work can also contribute to foster the production of translation materials of artistic and cultural content in the Portuguese - Libras direction, favoring the realization of the right of linguistic accessibility of Brazilian deaf communities to these Portuguese language contents and, consequently, contributing to cultural exchange between speakers of the two languages involved. Finally, it is also justified because it constitutes a “fertile ground” for thinking about issues that disturb students of translation practice, such as fidelity, untranslatability and authorship.

Diabetes mellitus is a non-transmissible chronic disease that can cause several complications when untreated, including diabetic retinopathy, the major cause of acquired blindness. The treatment of the disease consists of the control of the glycemia level, which is only possible through a monitoring routine. Glucose monitors, also known as glucometers, help in self-care with the disease, however, most of the commercialized models provide only a visual user interface, making it difficult or impossible to be used by individuals with reduced visual acuity. The objective of this project was to develop a blood glucose monitoring instrument that emitted clear warnings and instructions to facilitate glycemic control with precision, providing autonomy and independence for diabetic patients with visual difficulties. The device was designed using the Arduino microcontroller-based development platform. A speaker sound interface was implemented with predefined alert phrases, a web interface for configurations and data access, and reverse-engineering the operation of biosensor strips for use in the prototype. The results presented a prototype device with a functional speaker interface, with sound quality tested and validated, accuracy of measurements very similar to the commercial apparatus used in the comparisons, as well as other features expected from a commercial appliance. It is also planned to validate the instrument by a control group with diabetic individuals who present visual difficulties.
A necessidade da periodização para uma (re)leitura dos romances The adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) e The adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1885), de Mark Twain

The aim of this research is to point to the need for periodization (JAMESON, 1992) of Mark Twain's novels The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1885) to revisit the contemporary reception of books, marked in these readings by the possible accusations of racism and prejudice made to works by critics. The objective of that thesis is to reintegrate the literary texts in their production context and investigate how the ethnic and racial issues are figured in these Twain's novels. By means of concepts of Reception Theory as proposed by Jauss (1967), especially those of horizon of expectations, synchronic and diachronic reception amplified by the political reading as presented by Fredric Jameson (1992), Antonio Candido (1970) and Roberto Schwarz (1987) will seek to re-read these novels tied to their historical context of production.
Modelo de decisão de licitação utilizando sistema fuzzy baseado em regras

Taking into account the decision-making process of bidding, which there’re several strategic factors, complex and subjective, this document has as goal provide a new decision model, using a fuzzy system based on parameters, supporting the manager on binary decision-making of participating or not in a bidding. Beginning from a literature review about bidding, decision-making of bidding and fuzzy system, it approaches the new bidding decision-making, comparing to each others there are, as well as it application, here represented by a case study in a capital goods factory, with a strong national market performance. The obstruction to get information, the unstructured formulation of the decision-making process, the presence of limited resources, the increasing demands for product qualities and the possibility to help managers on process decision-making, motivated the document development. Taking into account that, during the whole information gathering process, it was verified the very qualitative variables presence, imprecise and the decision-making process based on human knowledge, whose behavior is influenced by perception, judgment and emotions, chose to develop a fuzzy model so, allowing the development of methods and techniques for representation and processing inaccurate information, abundant in the real world, and also difficult to process by conventional logic. The knowledge construction of the knowledge base of fuzzy systems, formed by database and by parameters was developed by the researcher, with specialists support. The expected benefit with the use of the new model is to get reduction of the manager's response time, more assertive decisions and saving of human and financial resources during the process of preparing proposals. With a historical database of a capital goods factory was possible to build up several bidding decision scenarios. Besides the model, a parameters fuzzy system was developed, whose results are in accordance with the decisions expected by those experts. The model, compared to the other models according to the literature review, was more robust, more interpretable and less dependent on the specialists.
