Item type:Item, Hidrogéis Nanocompósitos Termossensíveis aplicados no crescimento de Células–tronco Mesenquimais e Condrócitos para a engenharia tecidual(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-27) ;Sala, Renata Lang ;Camargo, Emerson Rodrigues de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7720754304065239https://lattes.cnpq.br/6166389335515623Injectable biomaterials have gained prominence in tissue engineering since they present a minimal invasive option for therapeutic delivery. However, longer gelation time, instability of physicochemical properties, cytotoxicity and scarce in vitro and in vivo studies limited these biomaterials for clinical practice. In this study, it was proposed the in situ synthesis of nanocomposites based on the thermosensitive polymer poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) (PNVCL) as potential injectable biomaterials for cartilage tissue engineering due to their biocompatibility and ability to gel at physiological temperature. The combination of PNVCL with poly(vinyl acetate) and modified mesoporous silica nanofibers (SiO2-MPS) enabled obtaining thermosensitive nanocomposites with a diffuse phase transition below the room temperature, suitable for application as injectable biomaterials. In addition, the materials exhibited higher rheological properties in the presence of SiO2-MPS and PVAc, and dependent on the concentration of the hydrogels and the temperature, which resulted in an interconnected structure formed between the polymer chains covalently bonded to SiO2-MPS. The evaluation of the biological activity of the materials demonstrated that they were biocompatible with mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and chondrocytes (CDs). Additionally, hydrogels of PNVCL and PNVCL with 1 % of SiO2-MPS maintained the chondrocytes phenotype, induced chondrogenic differentiation of MSCs and secreted neocartilage components. Therefore, these studies demonstrate the distinct properties that nanocomposites based on thermosensitive polymers can perform, expanding their perspectives of application, especially as injectable biomaterials in tissue engineering.Item type:Item, Protocolo para selecionar alternativas de produtos para instalações provisórias de canteiro de obras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-27) ;Zeule, Ludimilla de Oliveira ;Teixeira, José Manuel Cardoso ;Serra, Sheyla Mara Baptista ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8528385567782505https://lattes.cnpq.br/8161393701431874Sustainability is a topic widely addressed in the various sectors of civil construction. In the building sector, sustainable practices have been gaining great interest both in the field of research and development of new technologies aimed at products, and in practical applications at construction sites. The performance of the Provisional Construction Site Installations (IPC) is a current and important topic, since most works are not concerned with the proper selection of materials for these facilities, compromising their safe and functional use, in addition to great losses to the users of these constructions, which are temporary, but house workers for nine or more hours of workday. Traditionally, civil construction has problems with decision-making processes, especially with regard to the lack of criteria for selecting materials. Thus, this study proposes the use of a decision-making method - Choosing by Advantage (CBA) to select product alternatives that impact less from the point of view of sustainability. As an analysis, a widely used component was adopted, which are lightweight roofs (with five different tiles) and modular container systems (with three different options) used as IPC. The method of this research proposes the design of a simplified protocol to be followed in order to obtain an analysis on the best type of tile and containers among those analyzed, according to the parameters identified as necessary to be used in the temporary installations of construction sites. This research assesses the applicability of the Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methodology in helping construction site planning and design teams to choose more sustainable alternatives to IPC. Therefore, the CBA decision-making method has demonstrated that it meets the sustainability aspects and facilitates the comparison of alternatives according to the factors chosen. In general, it is expected that this work will collaborate to expand knowledge about decision-making methods in the construction sector, also helping to disseminate sustainability according to a systemic view and based on technical information.Item type:Item, Internalização dos conceitos da ISO 14.001 em Cooperativa de Catadores. o caso da cooperativa de Rio Claro/SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-27) ;Lima, Valdemir dos Santos de ;Cordeiro, João Sergio ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2572864522562875https://lattes.cnpq.br/0057420416096868The strong production of solid waste in contemporary urban society has demonstrated the importance and necessity of establishing strategies aimed at the management and management of these wastes in Brazilian cities, especially the promotion of sustainable practices in the social, economic and environmental spheres. The promotion of selective collection programs is one of the most important strategies to minimize the negative environmental impacts of solid waste generation. In this sense, one of the actions developed by the municipality of Rio Claro/SP was the institution of COOPERVIVA - Work Cooperative of Waste Pickers of Rio Claro/SP. The objective of this cooperative is to: collect, triage store and market the recyclable materials coming from the selective collection made. The present research made it possible to verify the activities developed by the enterprise in three aspects: a) social inclusion, through the insertion of waste pickers from the former controlled landfill; b) the generation of work and income, through the commercialization of recyclable materials; c) increase the useful life of the Landfill and the correct disposal of recyclable materials. However, the managerial processes of such organizations demonstrate weaknesses in daily practices, as well as issues related to the organization's environmental management. Thus, considering these aspects, the study involved the implementation of ISO 14.001 precepts in cooperatives or associations of collectors, with COOPERVIVA as its main object. The research aimed at improving the physical and structural conditions of the organization, especially of the individuals belonging to the cooperative, in order to improve the work done by the collectors and to mitigate possible environmental impacts, guided by the National Solid Waste Policy (Law 12,305 / 2010).Item type:Item, Desenvolvimento e aplicação de métodos analíticos verdes para a extração de flavonoides a partir de resíduos de Passiflora edulis sims f. Flavicarpa Deg.(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-27) ;Lopes, Ana Paula ;Zuin, Vânia Gomes ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5265150425993880https://lattes.cnpq.br/7037923189169470The concepts developed in this dissertation were guided by biorefinery assumptions, in which residues such as food peels can be enriched. In this sense, this research had as its main objective to develop, validate and apply green methods for the extraction of flavonoids from the peel of Passiflora edulis Sims (yellow passion fruit), which is here taken as study matrix due to its antioxidant activity, among other pharmacological effects. The three studied analytical methods comprised the extraction with solvent using ultra-turrax, ultrasound and microwave equipment, from which three flavonoids could be extracted: orientin, isoorientin and isovitexin, which were determined by UPLC-PDA. The green character of each method was analysed by means of the Green Star metric which, allied to analytical criteria, made it possible to find the best procedure for removing the flavonoids of interest in the samples. It is important to emphasize that UPLC and the application of chemometrics are associated to the choice of solvents and other ideally innocuous and renewable materials could also contribute to increase the green character of the whole study. At the end of this work, it was observed that, among the evaluated extraction methods, the most efficient and green-characterized experiment was based on ultra-turrax (exp.8), which made it possible to extract the selected flavonoids in greater quantity from the residues of sour passion fruit.Item type:Item, A influência da adição de MgH₂ em Mg visando a aplicação em tanques de armazenagem de hidrogênio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-28) ;Chanchetti, Lucas Faccioni ;Leiva, Daniel Rodrigo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6576844591900987 ;Ishikawa, Tomaz Toshimihttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5726055117451807Magnesium Hydride is a promising material for Hydrogen storage, due to its high capacity, excellent reversibility and low cost of metallic magnesium. High energy ball milling is the main technique for obtaining Mg with reaction kinetics adequate to H2 storage applications. It however possesses high energetic cost and low productivity, besides inflicting air sensitivity, raising processing costs. Previous studies demonstrated that the incorporation of 5% MgH2 to Mg improves its activation kinetics with reduced milling times. In this work, we evaluated the effect of the addition of increasing MgH2 contents to Mg on its activation kinetics and in characteristics of interest for storage tanks, such as air resistance, cyclability and thermal conductivity. Commercial Mg plates were extensively cold rolled, followed by a short ball milling step with addition of hydride. Part of the resulting material was compacted, and air exposed for 1 month. The hydrogen sorption properties were evaluated with a Sieverts-type apparatus and microstructural characterization was done via scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The addition of 10% or more MgH2 endowed Mg with fast activation. Mg+MgH2 compacts have air resistance far superior to 100% MgH2 compacts, while keeping full capacity, fast kinetics and cyclability. The porosity after compaction was also lower for Mg+MgH2. The fast activation kinetics, together with the air resistance, allows Mg+MgH2 to be used as the starting material in Mg-based H2 storage tanks, eliminating the need for controlled atmosphere and reducing the necessity of ball milling.Item type:Item, Narrativa crítico-reflexiva(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-28) ;Weigert, Camilla Victória ;Souto, Bernardino Geraldo Alves ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7264826508407685https://lattes.cnpq.br/7647655687970166The objective of this work is to carry out a synthesis about the experience in the areas of teaching, assistance and research throughout the medical graduation course through a reflection on my training as recommended by the respective Pedagogical Political Project. The main objective of this work was to synthesize, characterize and test the antimicrobial activity of zinc oxide, copper oxide and silver nanoparticles in Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis) and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium). For the synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles the precipitation and sonochemistry (ultrasound) methods were performed, for CuO, besides these methods, hydrothermal and Ag precipitation were also performed. Silver, considered a universal antimicrobial, was used as a benchmark in the studies, and therefore only the most traditional synthesis (precipitation). The characterizations performed for the nanoparticles were X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared Spectroscy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy with Field Emission Source (FEG) and Zeta Potential. The evaluation of the antimicrobial activity was performed through the agar diffusion test (qualitative analysis) and the bottle agitation test (quantitative analysis). The latter was performed for the bacteria that showed greater inhibition of the diffusion test, S. aureus and E. coli, and for the syntheses that obtained smaller nanoparticles, being the ultrasound for ZnO, ultrasound 2 h for CuO and precipitation for Ag. The thickness of the nanoparticles (NPs) were between 10 and 40 nm. In the diffusion test the ZnONPs showed inhibition halos for S. aureus (12 mm and 14 mm ± 0,05) and E. faecalis (5 mm ± 0,05); the CuONPs formed halos for S. aureus (6.6 to 9.6 mm ± 0.05) and slightly for E. coli (4.5 to 5.2 mm ± 0.05); for AgNPs, inhibition halos were formed in all bacteria, S. aureus (12.4 ± 0.05); E. faecalis (9.7 mm ± 0.05); E. coli (8.6 mm ± 0.05) and Salmonella (8.1 mm ± 0.05).While in the bottle shake test for S. aureus the nanoparticles obtained about 100% inhibition relative to the control at a concentration of about 200 μg / ml for CuONPs and AgNPs and at 350 μg / ml for ZnONPs. For E. coli with the highest studied concentration for all NPs, 500 μg / ml, it was possible an inhibition around 90% related to the control. The antimicrobial activity of the nanoparticles used showed greater inhibition for Gram-positive bacteria compared to Gram-negative bacteria. According to the studies performed, the nanoparticles tested (ZnO, CuO and Ag) were shown to be potential antimicrobial agents. They can be considered of great importance for the purpose of investing in processes that retard / inhibit bacterial growth, with the potential of applying antimicrobial packaging for food storage.Item type:Item, Algumas relações entre a psicanálise freudiana e os preceitos do “cuidado de si”e do “conhecimento de si”(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-28) ;Naldinho, Thiago Canonenco ;Monzani, Luiz Roberto ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2036732603638197https://lattes.cnpq.br/3937733714173482Our thesis is a response/comment to the question raised by Michel Foucault about what the link of psychoanalysis with the theme of spirituality would be. To that end, we begin our discussion with an analysis of a description made by the aforementioned French philosopher. He portrays the differences between two sorts of relationships between subject and truth – regarding two regimes of subjectivation: one previous and other posterior to what Foucault calls the Cartesian moment, which marks the entrance of the history of truth into the Modern Age. Later, we focus on the thought of Sigmund Freud, in order to find evidence concerning the supposed presence (stated by Foucault), at the core of psychoanalytic knowledge, of the same points that guided the millennial tradition of spirituality – the work upon the self (performed by the subject with the aim of achieving the change of his being) as a condition to accessing the truth; and the consequent transfiguration and salvation of the subject, due to its contact with the truth. Finally, we evaluate whether the presumed existence of these spiritual contents sanctions the consideration of psychoanalysis as a type of spirituality in the present time, through its relations with the old principles of self-knowledge and care of the self.Item type:Item, Proposta de método para mensuração da qualidade de políticas públicas em sistemas de inovação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-28) ;Pakes, Paulo Renato ;Torkomian, Ana Lúcia Vitale ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2321084184622795https://lattes.cnpq.br/4438042573741789Despite the development of technological capacity to innovate occur primarily within companies, other organizations and institutions of the Innovation System (IS) can contribute to this process. In the broadest sense, IS can be understood as all important economic, social, political, organizational and institutional factors, among others, that influence the development, diffusion and use of innovations. The Public Power of the State of São Paulo has carried out several initiatives in Science, Technology & Innovation for the maturation of its local innovation systems (LSI). Among the public policies implemented are the creation of the Paulista System of Technology Parks (PSTP), the Business Incubators Network (BIN), the State Innovation Law as well as the São Paulo System of Innovation Environments (SPSIE), which proposes a for the state innovation system. Considering this context, this thesis proposes a model to measure the perceived quality of public policies for Innovation System from the point of view of users. The analysis framework has as starting point the concepts of innovation and quality systems in the public sector and brings as original contribution a model to measure the perceived quality of public policies in innovation. For its accomplishment, this thesis went through the elaboration of bibliometric analysis and systematic analysis on quality in the public sector and systems of innovation. Following, a websurvey on the quality of public policy SPTec was carried out. Through descriptive analysis, it was possible to verify the quality of public policy in 5 determinants of quality. Factor analysis allowed the regrouping of quality attributes into new determinants for SPTec public policy. The Pearson correlation analysis allowed to verify the correlations between the variables. Finally, the multiple regression analysis allowed us to analyze the dependence relationship between the variables. It was observed that the public policy SPTec is immature in terms of process quality, quality of the relation and quality of the result, needing intervention of improvement with higher priority on them. In addition, we identified the determinants that should be prioritized in the implementation of SPTec public policy in a possible reformulation. Finally, the attributes of quality that generate the greatest effect in terms of increase in user satisfaction are shown, as well as those that generate decrease in satisfaction if they have an increase in their performance, which allows to analyze which attributes should be prioritized in terms of maintenance or performance. From the information obtained through the application of the instrument, public managers and public policy promoters can promote improvements in the innovation system with the aim of maturing it.Item type:Item, O Conselho Municipal de Educação de Sorocaba/SP: a gestão democrática e a busca pela qualidade socialmente referenciada(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-28) ;Almenara, Gilsemara Vasques Rodrigues ;Lima, Paulo Gomes ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5109357037661496https://lattes.cnpq.br/4535607952837426The objective of this research was to analyze the main mechanisms and strategies that guide the democratic management influence starting from the organization and operation of the Municipal Educational Council of Sorocaba/SP (C.M.E.SO) on the perception of its counselors. The methodological path is preliminarily a bibliographic survey on the specialized literature on the subject and through the Bank of CAPES based on the theses and dissertations from 2006 to 2016 amounting to 32 dissertations and 3 PhD theses. A qualitative approach was used, and data collected by means of analyzing the content based on the works of Bardin (1977, 2010, 2011), relative to the records and sayings of the respondents. The procedures used for data collection includes: 1. Script of the Respondent who submitted questions related to personal training and representation in C.M.E.SO; 2. Preliminary Survey Script, which contextualizes the city of Sorocaba/SP and the C.M.E.SO as to your organization and functioning; 3. Semi-structured interview script directed to the municipal education directors held with five advisers having as a criterion of choice of respondents, advisers who participated in the development of PME and that remained on the C.M.E.SO later. The study as a whole made possible to conclude that over the 10 years investigated, the C.M.E.SO sought its autonomy and participation on the municipal education through its normative functions, deliberative and advisory bodies. It’s notable that on the respondent’s speech that the Agency presents sharp dependency of the government, regarding the structural issues, such as: budget to its own actions, physical structure for its operation and targeting guidelines in relevant educational issues. The guiding democratic management axis must still be well worked by the Council, in spite of the increased access that had occurred in the last decade. It is worth noting that a model project of social education has only space by mobilizations and actions of our citizens, albeit represented, that charge and want to understand and act on the contexts and movements of the city’s educational system.Item type:Item, A judicialização na educação infantil entre ênfases, encaminhamentos e solicitações no município de Sorocaba/SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-09-28) ;Silva, Petula Ramanauskas Santorum e ;Lima, Paulo Gomes ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5109357037661496https://lattes.cnpq.br/3258719620839728The objective of this study was to analyze the legislative process among emphases, referrals, and requests in early childhood education in the city of Sorocaba, São Paulo. The study considers the constraints and limits placed on the rights of the child, from the perspective of day care directors, and focuses particularly on full-day centers. The choice of respondents for the study was a function of their role in the implementation of policy, in addition to their responsibility for administrative and pedagogical dialogue within their day care. The study included interviews of ten full-day day care directors, out of 20 that were invited, based on their willingness to participate in the research. The methodology employed both a qualitative approach as well as data analysis established by studying content from the works of Bardin (2011), Franco (2005), and Campos (2004). The data collection instruments consisted of: 1) a characterization of interview participants, highlighting their attributes and roles regarding the scope of early childhood education for children zero to three years of age in full-day municipal day care centers in Sorocaba, and 2) a questionnaire for day care directors in Sorocaba regarding policy implementation for early childhood education. The theoretical framework of the study was based on a survey of master theses and doctoral dissertations from the Capes platform and on articles from the Scielo platform, none of which were ranked according to their Qualis. The study reviewed literature in the area of education and law between the years 2004 and 2016. Regulation and legal guidelines from the city of Sorocaba -namely the Unified Municipal Register – CMU (SOROCABA / SP, 2017b) and listings of vacancies requested by judicial order (SOROCABA / SP, 2018d) - also contributed to the discussion. The study found that the lack of supply of early childhood education for children zero to three years old in Sorocaba is on one hand due to a lack of dialogue between the executive power (the mayor’s office) and the demands of the population, and a lack of planning and organization for the given age range under study—both factors that deprive the child of his or her right to education. On the other hand, certain legislation has raised issues that affect not only the pedagogical, structural, and human resource organization of day cares, but also the path and historical context of early childhood education in Brazil. The study confirms that the educational right of the child is not currently planned nor fulfilled, and this scenario is expected to continue until the city makes a decision for reform.Item type:Item, Somos todxs estrelas pornô?: a produção de subjetividades-vitrine no Cine Majestick (Fortaleza/CE)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-10-01) ;Coelho, Juliana Frota da Justa ;Leite Júnior, Jorge ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7253561448346772https://lattes.cnpq.br/9703923242820263The main objective of this thesis is to problematize the production of "showcase-subjectivities" in the porn movie Majestick, located in the downtown of the city of Fortaleza (CE). These subjectivities are assemblages of technologies of subjectivation, such as the architectures, spatialization, temporalization, displacement, and the intersectional and geopolitical spectacularization of sexualities, which make visible practices considered pornographic at the same time as they guard or subvert them. Initially, I discuss the sexopolitics of the construction of the "cinemões" circuit of Ceará's capital, from the family and elitist proposal of the early twentieth century to its gradual pornification in the late twentieth century and the present twenty-first century. Based on two and a half years of fieldwork, fourteen interviews and for what I questioned as a desiring methodology, I discuss the pornographic assemblages in this "cinemão", situating my position as a woman, cis, white, northeastern and middle class researcher, as well as elaborating a critique, from the fieldwork, on the colonization of the body of researchers of the sexualities - mainly of the women researchers - that discards the desires as production of knowledge. The "showcase" - crossed by pornographic networks of the cinemões, which include bodies, architectures, morals, smells, fluids, gradations of light, sounds, diverse substances and other types of stimulants - concerns the spectacularization of sexualities in certain spaces, such as in porn cinemas in Fortaleza, producing porn stars that are not limited to actresses and actors in pornographic films. There is no intention of linking pornography to the total subversion of morally accepted sexual values (since it often ratifies them), but rather to question what kind of pornography (historically associated with obscene jouissance) is organized in these spaces that present themselves in the center of the city of Fortaleza as "cinemas", with emphasis on Cine Majestick.Item type:Item, Abordagem para o design de jogos digitais terapêuticos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-10-01) ;Souza, Paula Maia de ;Neris, Vânia Paula de Almeida ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0268728255033469https://lattes.cnpq.br/1069588937187655With the advancement of computational technologies, several areas of knowledge have enjoyed more and more of their benefits. One of the benefits that this technological advance has brought, within the area of health are the therapeutic digital games. They help hide the burden of the therapeutic tasks behind a fantasy world, raising motivation and adherence to therapy. However, the design of this category of games is more complex when compared to the design of conventional digital games. Because it is in a multidisciplinary context, it can be said that it is not enough just to have knowledge of game development, being also necessary to have knowledge about the pathology to be attended to and the domain that surrounds it. To date, no formalized methodology for the design of therapeutic digital games has been found in the literature that considers a multidisciplinary team and covers all stages of the design process. With this, this dissertation aims to formalize an semi-participatory approach for the design of therapeutic digital games, providin the participation of computer and health professionals in all stages of the design of a therapeutic game and facilitate communication between the stakeholders through well defined steps and activities. For this, a Systematic Review of the literature was initially undertaken to understand how existing therapeutic digital games were developed. Also as part of the baseline studies, a group of researchers who developed a game for patients with depression was studied, generating an account of experience. An initial version of the approach was presented to students of the Graduate Program in Nursing and applied by students of the Graduate Program in Computing, seeking to obtain feedback from these two groups in relation to the approach. After refinement of the approach, it was applied in the construction of a therapeutic digital game for the children and family attended by Hospital do Amor of the Barretos and evaluated by the professionals involved. The approach was named by SemTh, name inspired by the terms "Semio-participatory" and "Therapeutic Games". The SemTh is organized in four steps for the design, being: 1) Design Problem Clarification, where it is sought to understand the domain and propose the style of the game; 2) Interaction modeling, where the interactions of the game are modeled; 3) Design Materialization, where prototypes are created and the game is implemented; and 4) Evaluation, in this stage the game is evaluated by the team and by the end users. The evaluation of the approach was carried out in a qualitative way, through a questionnaire applied to professionals in the areas of computing and health, who participated in the game design for Hospital do Amor. The results of the evaluation pointed out that with the proposed approach it was possible to direct the computer team and empower the health team during the design of the therapeutic digital game.Item type:Item, Avaliação do uso de laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) e wavelength dispersive x- ray fluorescence (WDXRF) na análise direta de couros naturais e sintéticos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-10-01) ;Neiva, Ariane Maciel ;Pereira Filho, Edenir Rodrigues ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3394181280355442https://lattes.cnpq.br/4274221735676846The aim of this doctoral thesis was the development of analytical procedures for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of leather samples using LIBS and WDXRF techniques for direct analysis of solid samples. The first part of this work reports the development of classification models for the prediction of quality parameters of bovine and ovine leather tanned with Cr. In total, 375 leather samples were analyzed by LIBS and three classification models were developed using reference values obtained by physical-mechanical tests (official methods to certify the quality of leathers): K-nearest neighbors (KNN), soft independent modelling of class analogy (SIMCA) and discriminant analysis by least squares method (PLS-DA). The models had satisfactory results with correct prediction percentages ranging from 75 (SIMCA) to 80% (PLS-DA) for the calibration samples and from 72 (SIMCA) to 81% (KNN) for the validation samples. The second part deals with the establishment of a sample preparation procedure for leathers, in which digestion with HNO3 and H2O2 was used. In the experimental procedure 60 samples were evaluated and the concentration range of the elements determined using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) were as follows (mg kg-1): Al: 94-1,011; As:Item type:Item, Análise e contribuições para o ensino de biologia molecular em um município do interior paulista(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-10-01) ;Arruda, Hellen Ramos ;Silva, Flávio Caetano da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7889803676083470 ;Silva, Flávio Henrique dahttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1757309852446263Currently the number of works that seek to understand the difficulties involved in the teaching and learning process in Biology field, more specifically in the Molecular Biology subfield, has been grown exponentially. Such concern reflects the importance of this content that is established by different documents related to education, as the PCNEM and the State of São Paulo Curriculum. Molecular Biology is one of the basic topics to be guaranteed to the learners. The present research aims to analyze the difficulties encountered by students residing in a small city in the interior of São Paulo in understanding concepts related to Molecular Biology and and their applications and test the hypothesis that a new teaching material can improve students' knowledge and make them learn this content. According to the State of São Paulo Curriculum, the Molecular Biology content must be taught in the second year of High School, and for this reason the data collection was developed with a group of students properly enrolled at this level of education in a state public school in a small city in the interior of São Paulo. The theoretical basis that provided us grounding to understand and discuss the difficulties faced by students related to this subfield of knowledge is based on the concepts of habitus, field and capital, elaborated by the french sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. The methodologies adopted to collect the data obtained were the focus group and the prosopography, while our methodology for analyzing the data was made through content analysis. After data collection it was possible to confirm some difficulties in teaching this subject already pointed by the literature, such as: the abstract character of the content; the difficulty of the students in understanding the information disclosed by the different mass media; the inappropriate format of the teaching material currently available in the public education network of the state of São Paulo; teaching based on memorization; among other difficulties. It was also possible to show other difficulties that make the teaching of this content an obstacle both for teachers and students, such as: the reduced number of Biology classes; the organization of content according to the Sate of São Paulo Curriculum; the lack of extra class study; the absence of family support; the continued progression; the cultural heritage of the students; the large number of students per classroom, among others. Beyond the difficulties, it was possible to raise suggestions to facilitate the understanding of this content, some more likely to be performed than others. Among the suggestions, we can mention: the development of interactive and practical classes; monitoring in reverse period; use of teaching materials that are less repetitive and that can challenge the students; among others. In relation to the handbook we tested, we believe that it may contribute to the teaching and learning process in Molecular Biology, since there was great acceptance of it by the students. However, there are many problems to be solved related to Molecular Biology teaching.Item type:Item, Análise e proposição de estratégias projetuais para eco parques tecnológicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-10-01) ;Salvador, Douglas Santos ;Silva, Ricardo Siloto da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5346985934880710https://lattes.cnpq.br/6099992612298578Technology parks promote science, technology, and innovation through elements such as universities, research laboratories, high technology companies, incubators, infrastructure service providers, among others. This research proposes guidelines and technical recommendations to be applied in the design of these projects based on architectural and urban strategies that aim at greater environmental sustainability and the mitigation of the impacts generated by anthropic action. For this, were identified sustainable strategies for the variables of this study from the methods and systems of certification and environmental orientation that provide guidelines in this sense, verified parameters for territorial occupation with higher environmental quality, norms with indicators of urban sustainability, evaluated the potential to apply a current concept central to sustainable development - the food, energy and water nexus - and analyzed technological parks in operation or in the implementation phase that somehow propose to minimize environmental impacts. The following analysis variables were considered: natural resources, environmental comfort, energy, waste and urban insert. The results showed that for the effective caracterization of a eco-technological park, it is necessary to generate environmentally more advantageous and beneficial situations that only the use of design premises that function as mitigating measures. They also demonstrate that eco-technology parks should aim for the highest possible self-sufficiency and, therefore, are opportune for the adoption of strategies that incorporate the food-energy-water nexus, as the approach Roof Mosaic. From this perspective, this study contributes to the elaboration of the Nexus Emission Index (NEI), which evaluates the potential of CO2 emissions avoided by these vectors and serves as an instrument of verification and prioritization in the final decision making by those responsible for the projects of these enterprises. From this, a technical-conceptual repertoire was systematized with 61 guidelines and technical recommendations for the design and characterization of eco-technology park.Item type:Item, Can high-intensity interval training change cardiac autonomic control? In order for these bids to reach a higher level of success, it is necessary that the requests have very well-defined Terms of Reference, providing all conditions for the acceptance of the desired good, including environmental criteria. In this way, the present work aims to identify if the requesters insert in the Terms of Reference the environmental criteria set forth in Federal Decree n.º 7.746/2012. As methodology was used the qualitative research, having as a bibliographical and documentary research procedure. We identified in the Terms of Reference how many requests have environmental criteria and in the Minutes of the trading sessions it was observed whether the bidders can meet these requests. After analyzing the data, it was possible to verify that, although there are many laws, they are generally not sufficiently disseminated among the servers, so that they are not fully implemented. Thus, the paper presents an improvement proposal consisting of a table containing all the environmental criteria available in the specific legislation to be used in the next requisitions. The results point to the need to invest in training the servers so that everyone knows the available environmental criteria and, finally, the search opens new avenues for new follow-ups in the future bidding processes, contributing to a better environmental management. within public bodies.Item type:Item, Produção e Caracterização de Filme de a-C:H(N)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-10-03) ;Souza, Alan Roger Moreno ;Rossino, Luciana Sgarbi ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0139027055418391https://lattes.cnpq.br/8167885483299338The great interest in using diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin films is justified by their remarkable properties. The DLC film may incorporate other atomic elements depending on the precursor gas and the deposition conditions of the films, which provide different optical and mechanical properties to the film. The incorporation of nitrogen in the DLC film (a-C:H(N)) causes the decrease in the amount of carbon atoms in the state of hybridization sp3 and decreases the internal tension of the film, thus increasing the adhesion of the film to the substrate. Therefore the deposition parameters were studied in order to avoid high internal stresses present in the films that impair its adhesion to the metallic substrate and promote properties of interest. The objective of this work was to produce and study the effect of nitrogen incorporation in DLC (a-C:H) films on their chemical, mechanical and structural properties. The a-C: H and a-C: H (N) films were deposited on glass substrates, titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) and cobalt (WC-Co) carbide machining tool. The plasma-assisted vapor deposition technique (PECVD) using DC-pulsed source was used as the precursor methane gas with dilute argon, for the reproduction of a-C:H film, and nitrogen diluted in methane gas for the production and characterization of the aC:H(N) film. Studies on the physical cleaning, deposition of the interlayer film (a-Si), growth of a-C:H(N) film and study of the incorporation of nitrogen into the a-C:H film were made. For the characterizations, the techniques of visual evaluation, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), profilometry, dispersive energy spectroscopy (EDS) using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy, X (XPS), nanoindentation and machining test. The results obtained were a-C:H and a-C:H(N) adherent films. The adhesion, deposition rate and mechanical and optical properties of DLC films are related to the following parameters: total gas flow, gas ratio, power, temperature and pre-treatments used, such as physical cleaning and deposition of silicon interlayer films. The physical cleaning of the substrate showed the best result when the concentration of the argon and hydrogen gases were made in equal proportions and with total gas pressure of approximately 2 Torr. The a-C:H film had a hydrogen concentration of 26.64%, hardness of 14 GPa and 39.1% of sp3 hybridization between carbons. With the characteristics described the film produced can be classified as a hard film of a-C:H, according to previous research (Robertson, 2002). For the a-C:H(N) films the increase in the amount of nitrogen incorporated into the film was observed with the increase in the N2 gas flow diluted during the treatment. The concentration increased from 2 to 8% when the proportion of nitrogen inserted during the treatment was increased, from 10 to 60%, respectively. It was observed the increase in the deposited film thickness when the nitrogen was inserted diluted concentrations of 10 to 40% in methane, but in nitrogen concentrations higher than 50 and 60%, the deposition rate decreased. The spectra obtained by FTIR showed C-C and C-H2 bonds with most sp3 bonds for the a-C:H film, while the presence of nitrogen bands was found for the a-C:H (N) film. For characterization by Raman spectroscopy, the change of the position of the G band to higher wave numbers denote the decrease of carbon with hybridized bonds sp3, this is due to the increase of the incorporation of nitrogen in the film. No significant change in film hardness was observed with different nitrogen incorporations. In the milling test, it was observed that, among the a-C:H(N) films produced, the film with a 20% dilution of nitrogen in methane provided a longer life for the cutting tool. The tool with no film deposition with a life of 6.2 minutes and the tool with a-C:H(N) film with 8.1 minutes of machining. However, the a-C:H film still had the best tool life with its total machining time of 9.2 minutes. The test specimen presented lower surface roughness for the tools with the deposition of DLC film when compared to the test body machined with the tool without deposition.Item type:Item, Previsibilidade em revoada de formigas-cortadeiras Atta sexdens rubropilosa Forel, 1908 (Hymenoptera, Formicidae) por meio de modelagem computacional(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2018-10-03) ;Tallarico, Luís Carlos ;Barbosa, Marcílio de Souza ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8917018101872409 ;Colato, Alexandrehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5460973924624757The mating process of the leaf-cutting ants, genus Atta, represents a relevant event to be studied due to its biological interest. The mating coincides with the onset of the rainy season and the hottest period of the year, when, under very specific climatic conditions, winged males and females leave the adult colony for copulation, which occurs during flight, including between individuals from different colonies, aiming to increase the genetic variability of the population. The females then become the queens of new colonies that will be founded. The prediction of the mating period is important because it is fundamental information for monitoring the pest and for the planning of the application of methods for its control that enable: the reduction of the quantities and costs of the used inputs, the increase of the efficiency control agents and the reducing of the damage they can cause to the environment. It also facilitates the process of collecting these insects for use in experiments. The climatic conditions are an important factor for the definition of the period of the flock, however, there are few studies for the subject and there is no method or tool that uses mathematical modeling to predict its occurrence. The objective of this work was to estimate the mating period of leaf-cutting ant Atta sexdens rubropilosa occurs, based on climatic information and meteorological forecasts, through the construction of a computational model that involves data analysis and uses specific scoring functions, in an optimization process, that had its calibration based on the set of climatic data of a period and in the record of the respective dates in which the mating was observed. The optimization model was sufficiently sensitive and able to determine a maximum point, in terms of scoring, on the date on which the mating occurred.
