In times of the Internet, social media has opened up space for new forms of production and access to knowledge, to the point where the search for audiovisual literary reviews has become a shortcut to formation through synthesis, summaries and short introductions. From the update of some critical categories of Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno, the present study aims to investigate aspects of the content and form of an audiovisual literary review in the context of the Cultural Industry of Cyberculture, available on YouTube about the book “Animal Farm” written by George Orwell. The objective was derived the following guiding question for empirical social research: in what sense is it possible to affirm that the audiovisual review of an intellectual content is committed to the process of cultural industry schematism? Through Adorno’s content analysis methodology, the examination focused on the presence of manifest and implied clichés in the reviews and in the comments of users that tend to hypostasize a certain way of conceiving the world – divided between “us” and “them”, the sentences harbor the authoritarian “it’s like this” and “the other” (outsider), respectively under the expressions “easy reading text” and “socialist of rare lucidity”. As paralyzers of any discussion, stereotyped words pasteurize the critical content immanent to intellectual production. Consumed as a kind of didactic material, the audiovisual literary review produced by the youtuber does not seem to have presented a strict commitment to the theme, since there was no clarification and no confrontation to mistaken comments from users and to conceptual misunderstandings about the work and life of Orwell.

The frailty syndrome is highlighted both the aging process, since it has adverse outcomes such as death, hospitalization, institutionalization, falls and functional dependence. In this syndrome there would be a greater reduction of the physiological reserves and difficulty in maintaining the homeostasis due to a reduction of the physiological complexity. Since fall is an important outcome in this syndrome, it would be interesting to evaluate the postural control through measures of complexity and in challenging conditions, not only at rest. Thus, the Study I, titled "Impact of different demands on the postural control of prefrail older adults", aimed to compare the complexity of center of pressure (CoP) displacements of prefrail older adults in response to different stimuli: visual deprivation, cognitive demand and postural change. The results showed that the complexity of CoP displacement remained the same after the postural transition in the anteroposterior (AP) direction, as well as in tasks with closed eyes and with cognitive demand in the mediolateral (ML) direction. It is suggested that these activities could be added into rehabilitation programs for this population. As transitions between frailty stages are spontaneous, measures that may reduce the progression of frailty, such as exercise, should be taken into account. Thus, the Study II entitled "Effect of multicomponent training in postural oscillation complexity in prefrail older adults" aimed to investigate the effect of a multicomponent intervention (aerobic, balance, resistance and flexibility exercises) on the complexity and traditional measures of CoP displacements in the AP and ML directions with the eyes open and closed. The data showed that multicomponent training improved the integration of systems that control the prefrail balance, especially in challenging conditions, such as with closed eyes.

Myrtaceae do legado das águas – Reserva Votorantim, Tapiraí, São Paulo, Brasil
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-02-12) Sant'Ana, Gabriela Zominhani; Capelo, Fiorella Fernanda Mazine; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0400014722017129; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3264706434837645
Myrtaceae in Brazil includes approximately 1030 species, circumscribed in 23 genera, which characterizes it as the 8th family in number of species in the Brazilian flora. It has great ecological importance and is present in several phytogeographical domains, especially in the Atlantic Forest. The Legado das Águas - Reserva Votorantim is located in the municipalities of Tapiraí, Miracatu and Juquiá, next to large areas of environmental conservation, such as the Carlos Botelho State Park, forming a valuable ecological corridor in the Serra de Paranapiacaba. They are regions where the predominant vegetation is Ombrophylous Dense Forest, regions with high biodiversity in the state. The aim of this work is the taxonomic survey of Myrtaceae species occuring in the Legado das Águas - Reserva Votorantim. For that purpose, we carried out collection expeditions in the area as well as visits to the herbaria with expressive collections of plants collected in the area. The 39 species sampled in the area are presented through photographic records, descriptions and identification key, with Myrcia and Eugenia being the most expressive genera, with the highest number of species (17 and 14, respectively). The other genera sampled in the area were: Campomanesia (three species), Myrceugenia (two species) and Plinia (three species). The Myrtaceae species occurring in the Legado das Águas - Reserva Votorantim correspond to about 14% of the species of this family in the Atlantic Forest for the state of São Paulo.

Indicadores de qualidade do solo em diferentes sistemas de manejo
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-02-12) Fernandes, Flavia Santos; Tonello, Kelly Cristina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6466418270059965
The use and management of the soils have caused physical-water changes of them. The evaluation of these modifications is necessary for the dimensioning of the physical quality of the soils, in order to characterize and understand the dynamics of the changes in the environment. In this sense, this study has the goal of characterize and evaluate the influence of different systems of use and management of the soil. The study was conducted at the São João site, located in the city of Salto de Pirapora, SP, Brazil, where the mechanical resistance to penetration, hydraulic conductivity and soil infiltration were evaluated over a year in three management systems: (1) Agroforestry System (SAF); (2) lytic planting (LIC) and (3) area in transition for banana plantation (PAS). In each treatment, the soil cover was also measured using a 0.24m² quadrant, as well as undisturbed soil samples in the 0-10 cm layers to determine their density and humidity. Rainfall data were recorded monthly to correlate with the physical-water attributes of each treatment. The systems with the highest and most frequent management (SAF and PAS) presented better results in relation to soil quality than the system with lower management (LIC), except for the parameters humidity and soil cover where the LIC presented better conditions. The physical characteristics of SAF and PAS were similar to each other and different from the LIC area. The physical characteristics of SAF and PAS were similar to each other and different from the LIC area. Thus, it can be concluded that DS, K, VI, RMSP in SAF and PAS soils showed a better quality in relation to LIC.

The bacterium Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (XAC) is the cause of citrus canker, a disease that affects many species of citric plants, causing drop in productivity and losses to producers. Many proteins have been detected by proteomic analysis and related to the invasion and dissemination of the bacterium in the citrus host. In the present work, biochemical techniques were applied for the obtaining and partial functional characterization of two XAC genes: XAC1006 (malate dehydrogenase - MDH) and XAC0223 (conserved hypothetical protein), both detected in previous proteomics studies performed at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Applied Molecular Biology (LBBMA)/UFSCar as potentially involved in XAC´s pathogenicity. The conserved hypothetical protein (XAC0223) does not have a described function in literature for XAC, but its gene sequence analysis by bioinformatics tools shows similarities with membrane proteins and outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) of known function in other species. It was possible to characterize it partially by pathogenicity test with a deletion mutant of this ORF, previously obtained, which apparently presented greater virulence than the wild XAC, which may corroborate the hypothesis that it may be a protein detected by the host plant which can trigger their defense responses. MDH was described as a signature protein in XAC cells surface under in vivo infectious conditions, which has also been described for other pathogenic organisms, as a determinant protein in their infectious processes. In this work, a recombinant MDH was obtained in the native form with confirmed enzymatic activity, and anti-MDH antibodies were also produced and used in Western blot, providing more evidence of its possible presence on XAC´s surface under infectious conditions. It is hoped, through the obtained results, to contribute to the knowledge of the pathogenicity mechanisms of Xanthomonas sp., confirming potential targets of biotechnological interest against the disease and helping in its future combat.
