The present research responds to the following question: Can the board game be considered as a resource in the reading and writing process? In order to answer this question, this study aimed to observe and analyze the use of board game in the process of appropriation of skills related to reading and writing of children in situations of social vulnerability. The present research was carried out in a Civil Society Organization, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. Fourteen girls, seven to ten years of age, who attended this organization participated in the study. The present qualitative research, characterized as participant research, used the procedures of observation, interview and pedagogical evaluation. It counted on three stages: 1. Initial sounding; 2. Intervention with board games; 3. Finalization. The results showed a gain in skills in the process of acquisition of reading and writing, since the application of the evaluations showed that all the girls advanced in the appropriation of writing abilities possibly by influence of the game. Therefore, it is possible to indicate that the board game can be considered as a facilitator in the process of appropriation of the abilities related to the reading and writing of children in situation of social vulnerability. It is also worth noting the importance of new studies that offer different mechanisms of teaching reading and writing skills, focusing on the potential and knowledge of the learner, so that, in fact, he becomes active in the teaching and learning process.

This research deals with the complexities involving the cases of death by bàtòtàka, a spell of "tying the throat" among the Karajá. The objective is, based on the ethnographic analysis of suicide cases in several indigenous contexts, to approach the specificities surrounding the understanding of these phenomena, in order to produce a discussion about the different meanings, based on the particularities of each context in the light of the cases of the inỹ autocides, Karajá’s self-denomination. Thus, this dissertation is constructed using as a literary and discursive resource the story "The Third Margin of the River" by Guimarães Rosa, and the ethnographic accounts of those who stand before the margin and have to deal with the economy of the various cosmos and inỹ beings, In this context, classical themes to Brazilian indigenous ethnology are addressed, such as: the notion of the person, corporeality, as well as the funerals, destinies reserved for the dead and ritual interruptions in the face of these fatalities, which, in Karajá’s context, give to the dead a destiny seen as awkward. In this way, I developed my work in the Ibutuna village, which is located along the Araguaia River, in the northwest portion of Bananal Island, on the border between Mato Grosso and Tocantins states.

Fe-Cr-Ni-B system alloys with partially amorphous structures can ensure a very attractive combination of mechanical and electrochemical properties, far superior to conventional materials. It can be used, for example, in the form of metallic coatings in parts or equipment, in which, wear mechanisms coupled with the high aggressiveness of the media are present, as is the case in the petrochemical sectors. The success of the elaboration and projection of an alloy that can provide specific characteristics and properties depends on the degree of knowledge and familiarity with the peculiarities of each composition of the system, from the formation of possible phases and structures to the consequences and limitations of the microstructure in its specific use. In this way, the present work aims to perform a mapping of the characteristics, trends and behavior of the Fe-Cr-Ni-B system alloys. Based on thermodynamic simulations, a series of alloys was elaborated, covering a large range of compositions of potential interest, in order to register patterns and trends of formation of crystals and structures, correlating them with the final properties of the alloy. The alloys were produced in the form of ribbons in melt-spinning equipment. Vacuum heat treatments were used for partial and total crystallization of amorphous alloys, as well as for the evaluation of structural alterations of crystalline phases. The study methods used were: Thermodynamic simulation in Thermo-Calc® software, using the TCFe7 database, X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), transmission electron microscopy and automatic phase mapping (MET/ ASTAR) and electrochemical tests to obtain the polarization curves in high salt concentration media. At the end of the work a series of peculiarities of the Fe-Cr-Ni-B system could be registered, helping in a valuable way the understanding of the system. Revealing that, excellent corrosion resistance properties can be obtained by partially amorphous alloys containing both the superduplex stainless structure and boride particles.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is characterized by a computational environment that can be divided into three main layers: sensor network, communication and intelligence, the latter located in a fog or cloud environment forming an IoT environment. The first layer can be composed of a wide variety of objects, usually called terminals, with various computational capacities, architectural features, a variety of sensors, actuators and different communication interfaces and standards for interconnection. The second layer can make use of many different wireless communications technologies, including Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Bluetooth or emerging 6LoWPAN communication technologies such as Lora, and transport protocols that incorporate strategies like publish / subscribe to send messages containing sensor data / endpoints for the intelligence layer. The results can be used for monitoring, problem inference, business-level decision making, as well as sensor-level action by sending an actuation message to a terminal. As the IoT sensor network grows, a huge amount of data from various sources flows from the sensor layer to the intelligence layer in the IoT environment. The problem is that to make informed decisions about these data, it needs to be concrete and accurate. Data fusion is an effective way to improve data quality. However, IoT environments are still evolving and the best way or place where data fusion should happen is an open problem. This project presents an architecture for merging IoT sensor data by implementing data fusion with microservices using a container platform embedded in an IoT opensource middleware based on a fog infrastructure that is capable of automatically scaling according to the layer data flow sensor grows. Several data fusion performance tests were performed for different amounts of sensor points and readings on ZigBee and LoRa technologies using the Chauvenet data fusion algorithm in an agricultural environment which can be applied to the concepts of precision agriculture.

(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-02-14) Azevedo, Adalberto Tomaz de; Oliveira, Paulo César; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7516513469811353
This research aimed at presenting a teaching-learning process for a 6th grade group from Elementary School involved with the teaching of rational numbers, especially fractions. The approach of this school content involved the connection with the music, constituting an unconventional educational strategy. Based on the theoretical-methodological contributions of Raymond Duval, the development of this research was guided by the following research question: how does the insertion of music into the teaching-learning process of rational numbers contribute to the mobilization of the registers of semiotic representation? In order to support the methodological option of a descriptive and interpretive qualitative research, we present historical aspects and elements of musical theory in the course of the writing of the research report, as subsidies to explore the didactic-pedagogical potentiality of the mathematical and music connection in the study of the school content already mentioned. In the context of the public school of the State of São Paulo, in which the Teacher's Notebook is a material to support the development of skills and abilities prescribed in the official curricular document, it was prepared by the teacher-researcher the teaching-learning proposal systematized in six tasks described and analyzed from the written productions and interlocutions occurred to his students during the mathematics classes. We present to the reader the experience provided by this connection between different areas of knowledge, its contributions and suggestions to teachers interested in this educational possibility for the study of rational numbers. The usage of music in this teaching proposal permitted a more efficient and comprehensive learning with the coordination and use of different semiotic registers concerning the rational number occurring in a natural and meaningful way.

ABSTRACT A.KNONER, N Study on the stiffness between membranes and design of sandwich panels in reinforced concrete 2019. thesis (PhD) in structures and Civil Engineering-Federal University of São Carlos, São Carlos UFSCAr, 2019. The prefabricated concrete construction meets the need for more economic constructions and with greater speed of execution and, in search of construction processes more efficient and contribute to the improvement of quality in the process, the production of elements and in the execution of the work, were the basis of this research aimed to study and analyze the design of sandwich type panels bearing walls in precast concrete, as an option of a constructive system for multiple floors buildings. This study was characterized as an exploratory research, because it took into account the absence of similar searches to developed and had participation in preparation of models in the factory environment, taking the technology to the domestic market. So, the search had the theoretical-experimental for the distribution of the horizontal and vertical efforts between concrete membranes and their connectors to better understand the functioning and your project. The methodology covered the theoretical study of the behaviour and design of concrete membranes, allowing yourself to know the percentage of stiffness between them, knowing how the degree of action the dashboard; In addition, tests were carried out in the laboratory of sandwich panels, with different arrangements of filling and connections both to bending about sharp edges between membranes. According to the results, the bending behavior presented good proximity to the experimental and theoretical values, showing the possibility of doing a project and the tests of shear strength (stiffness) resistance to slip between the panels tested it was observed that due to the number of broken diagonals, it has not been possible to obtain the exact relationship of the applied load and sliding. As a conclusion, we can say that it is possible to apply the calculation model for the design of panels with a good approximation of the results and that more studies must be done in order to implement this technology in the country and incorporate the brazilian standard.

The object of this research was born from my experiences in the Supervised Internship in Early Childhood Education held in 2013 at a municipal school in the city of Votorantim / SP, which motivated the desire to investigate the possible consequences of relationships permeated by various types of violence that can occur inside the school. The research aimed to understand how the power relations between teacher and child are built in the school environment, as well as to investigate the marks left in the life of the child who experiences oppression and restrictions on his way of being a child. The research is qualitative and bibliographic. The main authors that support the work are: Michel Foucault (1987), Cláudia Rennó (2009), Adriana Rasera (2010) e Jucilaine Zucco (2008). They cover the subjects of discipline, body, authority and power, helping to understand the dynamics of these concepts when they are present at school. The work is divided into four chapters. The first chapter presents the construction of my Memorial, in which I reflect on my personal history in which it may have relations with the research, making a journey until I reach the course of Pedagogy. The second chapter presents the theoretical framework. The third chapter reports the methodology and the fourth presents the analysis of the data that were collected in the field, during the internship. The results reveal that the relations of power and authority within the school are influenced by values coming from a society marked by discipline and the need to adapt to a longing for production and work processes.

Operations management can play a decisive role in the development of competitive positions for companies. Many works refer to operations management as the area responsible for reducing companies’ environmental impact through, for example, materials reuse, increasing energy efficiency, reducing waste generation, waste disposal etc. However, the literature highlights the lack of alignment between environmental issues and operations strategies. In Brazil, the National Solid Waste Policy, instituted by Law nº 12305/2010 and regulated by Decree nº 7404/2010 imposes the principle of shared responsibility for the product life cycle and the reverse logistics system as a socioeconomical instrument. According to this regulation, manufacturers, importers, distributors, and traders of electronic products and their components are required to structure and implement reverse logistics systems. This fact promotes the organization of new markets, leads to the need for an adequate e-waste management and a better understanding of the practices adopted by companies that recycle e-waste. In research conducted in Web of Science and Scopus databases until August 2018 no articles that analyzed the operations strategies in e-waste recyclers were found, confirming the opportunity to develop the theory of operations strategy in this sector. Due to the necessity to find solutions to e-waste management in the Brazilian municipalities and that these solutions could be more easily and effectively implemented if integrated into operations strategies, in this thesis we aim to identify and analyze the operations strategies of companies that recycle e-waste and investigate how these strategies incorporate environmental sustainability actions. We adopted a qualitative approach, based on the conduction of five case studies. Even with different business models adopted, the results point out that environment is considered a key competitive priority for the companies analyzed, although quality stands out among the competitive priorities adopted. It was also verified that the adoption of environment as a competitive priority also affected the decision areas, especially the infrastructural one. In addition, it was verified that environmental issue is considered strategic and acts as a facilitator for the adoption of environmental practices. All companies researched adopt pollution prevention programs and waste reduction. However, it should also be noted the implementation of the following environmental practices: reduction of energy consumption, ISO 14001, corporate social responsibility and environmental planning and control, which were adopted by 4 of 5 companies investigated. From the theoretical point of view, the study points out that environment must be incorporated as a competitive priority, confirming the expansion of the traditional competitive priorities.

Regarding the context of innovation economy, international knowledge transfer can be a real viability for the generation of wealth, playing a significant role in economic and social development of several countries. Establishing university-company contracts comes with it a series of challenges which need to be overcome in order to allow knowledge to flow with less friction between the parties. If such contracting is already complex when both organizations have the same nationality, international transactions have even greater issues. On the other hand, it is an important activity for the institutional development and can provide economic growth to its country. Therefore, the purpose of this study was the transactional costs for the establishment of international university-company contracts, aiming at transferring knowledge from academia to companies. In this study, the dimensions of international technology transfer subject to contractual contingencies were identified and, considering the Transaction Costs Theory, one sought to qualitatively assess which are the most relevant issues for contracting. Using the methodology of Qualitative Comparative Analysis, it was possible to infer which of the transactional elements identified have a correlation with the establishment of international university-company partnerships. Identification of relevant transactional elements was carried out initially through the literature, and later an interview was conducted with a multinational Brazilian company’s innovation manager who carries out international contracting with foreign universities. Subsequently, an electronic survey was drafted and submitted to more than 300 foreign universities. The answers to the survey provided relevant information: it was identified that, related to universities, internationalization and scientific influence (translated in the number of citations) are characteristics that most encourage the establishment of international partnerships with companies. The environment for technology transfer is affected by uncertainties introduced primarily by regulatory and dispute resolution issues; it was identified that the legal system in which the university is immersed does not increase transaction frictions. Furthermore, Intellectual Property Rights are extremely relevant for effective transfer, and preferred contracting modalities involve licensing of these rights, precisely by minimizing information asymmetries between parties. Finally, this work proved to be relevant by bringing to light in a consistent manner the difficulties of contracting – using a powerful but still unknown methodological tool – and what are some suggestions for minimizing these transactional costs.

The importance of teaching Geometry is a present theme in several researches in Mathematic Education (LORENZATO 1995, FONSECA et. al 2002; BRESSAN; BOGISIC; CREGO, 2010). These authors consider fundamental the presence of geometry in the school environment, be it for the importance of this subject in the culture and in the history of humanity, or be it through cognitives abilities that it develops, or, even through the fact that it is present in the student's day-to-day routine. Manoel (2014) has classified the contributions of teaching geometry in eleven axes of analyses (Curriculum, History, Other Areas of Knowledge, Nature, Quotidian, Affectivity, Problems Solving, Cognitive Abilities, Critical Thinking, Aesthetics Appreciation and Creativity) and has affirmed that these axes could be used as a method of Teaching Geometry. In the face of this problematic, the question that has emerged and has guided this research was: which are the contributions that the eleven axes can make it possible as methodology of teaching geometry for the second segment of middle school? The purpose of this research was to analyze the methodology of the 11 axes and to identify their contributions to the teaching of Mathematics in the situations of proposed learning. The methodology of research chosen was the qualitative of the naturalistic type, according to Fiorentini e Lorenzato (2006). The analyze, done with the help of five teachers from two schools from the city a Sorocaba-SP, it has used the register of the activities of these teachers. Through our analyze, it was possible to conclude that the eleven axes as a method of teaching Geometry help teachers in the preparation of their mathematic classes, choosing or creating activities or selecting the didactic material that present a greater amount of axes, contributing therefore for a preparation of more diversified, formative, critical, stimulating and creative classes, providing a better teaching of mathematic and an aid to other subjects such as Sciences, Physics and Arts.

The human relationship with production systems has occurred since remote times, but conventional models have generated degradation of ecosystems, increasing the search for systems that favor agrobiodiversity. The objective of this study was the identification and characterization of agroecosystems, focusing on homegardens, present in rural properties in order to highlight the importance of these for the promotion of agrobiodiversity, highlighting plant species used for consumption and commercialization. For that, semi-structured interviews were conducted, as well as guided visits with direct observation on familiar rural properties in the Portal of Amazon. In chapter 1, we analyzed the plant species richness in 24 homegardens in Alta Floresta and 20 in Nova Canaã do Norte (MT). A total of 201 species were identified, cultivated for various uses, of which 131 are food and 96 are commercialized in several commercial sources. The backyards presented low similarity among themselves, with averages around 30% in the two municipalities, indicating a great heterogeneity regarding the choice of species by the farmers. Tree species were more frequent, with occurrence of species native to the Amazon and Cerrado ecosystems. In the second chapter, we analyzed the types of agroecosystems that occurred in nine of the properties, located in the Vila Rural community in Alta Floresta, with respective richness of species and similarities. The results showed four subsystems of production, with homegardens, vegetable gardens, woods and fields, where 136 species are cultivated, mainly used for food. The backyards were the richest in terms of species, with 71% and the richest ones with 14%. The similarity did not show a strong floristic relationship in these subsystems between the properties and among themselves, with most of the indices being presented, below 50%, indicating diversification in the cultivated vegetable species and preferences of the farmers in the choice of these species. The relevance of these agroecosystems, especially homegardens, for agricultural diversification, agrobiodiversity conservation, food supplementation and income generation in the studied rural communities is observed.

The objective of this work is to map the process of consolidation of digital technology into a cultural phenomenon. Using the Actor-Network Theory, the text seeks to understand the path traveled by humanity to the digital culture and how the profound changes brought by this new way of being and acting in the world interfere in its own characterization as human and in its society. Two points of support are drawn in the work: the first is the concept of culture, foundation, and mark of the human species; the second is the question of generations, an intricate concept that unites the biological cycle of life and social unfolding imposed by the same natural cycle, responsible for continuous human ingenuity, for overcoming paradigms, for the constant substitution of centers of political, economic, religious authority and moral. Starting from these two points of reference and observing the communicational processes as key to the process, the research seeks to establish the paths traveled by humanity and its technological artifacts until the consolidation of the digital culture.
